In this episode, host Nick Madsen discusses the time crunch faced by wildlife biologists and managers when making hunt recommendations. The hunt recommendation numbers are released in April, but the data collection process is challenging due to the hunting season starting in August and ending in January. The biologists rely on various data sources, including population estimates, GPS collar data, hunter harvest data, habitat and environmental conditions, and disease data. They use this information to determine buck-to-doe ratios, assess population objectives, and make recommendations for permits. The episode highlights the importance of accurate and up-to-date data in the decision-making process. She's approaching scripting in a new way. She's learning how to tap into her future self on a richer, more complex, yet simpler level. What's the best manifestation you've had over the past few months? Her bedroom furniture and her living situation in general. She manifested the exact house she intended. That morning, she was inspired to open up Facebook marketplace and found the perfect matching bedroom set! What is coaching Cassie gave you or someone else that really made something "click"? The future self questions. After the most recent coaching, she started doing it again and it finally worked. What is something you have grown through (overcome) in the last few months? A couple things, Vicki has had some growth lately around her body image, her migraines, and work life. Her self image growth journey is not complete. She's learning what loving herself looks like now, at this juncture in her journey. Learning how to set boundaries around other people's feelings and thoughts. Looking back, she sees the lack of boundaries she had in the past, and now with these new boundaries, things are manifesting faster. 1 in 5 days of work are lost “User expectations have just accelerated,” says John Ruthven, CEO of IR. “We just expect it to work. I expect that I can just jump on a conference call with a hundred of my colleagues, and we'll have a great experience.” In this podcast, we discuss the expectations gap and the productivity gap that flows from those expectations, and the reality of how routine business events unfold, in a way that does not match up. The fumbling around adds up. The minutes lost while people struggle to get audio, video, and other things to work and work together, adds up to a whopping productivity loss of one in five days. In our discussion, we also learn that this also means worker dissatisfaction, and the knock-on impact of flat customer experiences. IR also helps companies with getting paid. Frustrated customers who struggle, with the offered technology, to make a payment, can also become a customer who's not satisfied generally. Ruthven discusses how IR is taking on these challenges and offering working solutions. Visit www.ir.com

It's that time of year again. The holiday season looms with Thanksgiving and Christmas on the horizon, and the inevitable work deadlines and travel stresses that go along with that. When time is short and stress is high, it's easy to make bad food decisions because -- let's face it -- most of the food available to us in the world is high in calories and low in nutrients. With a few basic strategies, however, you can avoid hitting the fried chicken sandwich for lunch and instead eat (mostly) fresh, nutritious, and unprocessed food. Robert explains how he seeks out food while traveling or working in fast-paced, stressful environments, including the food "slots" he tries to fill each day, the compromises he's willing to make, and why grocery stores and gas stations are actually better than you think if you know where to look. The clock is ticking down for people hoping to break into the state's forthcoming recreational cannabis market. Would-be producers are still weaving their way through the licensing process, and that path has been anything but smooth so far. This week, we talk to three different business owners, who all share similar frustrations about navigating the licensing process with the Regulation and Licensing Department and various municipal governments. Once those businesses have their licenses, those business owners can begin the process of growing and cultivating. But, unless those pieces are all in place soon, the chances they can have product ready for the market by next April 1st, when the recreational market kicks off, is very much in doubt. Read more about their concerns about the state's aggressive timeline, in a recent report from co-host Andy Lyman at NM Political Report. Water has been another constant concern and theme of this new industry, as it is with all agricultural businesses in New Mexico. But, what about the other environmental impacts of growing cannabis? Researchers at Colorado State University join Andy and Megan to discuss their research about the carbon footprint of this new crop, especially in terms of indoor grows. Lastly, Megan talks with Andy about his latest report for NM Political Report, just published this morning. It examines the strange case of a solitary medical cannabis license which was granted just a day before the cannabis program shifted from the New Mexico Department of Health to the Regulation and Licensing Department. There are plenty of questions about the process used, and the business owner who got that single license, but there is no doubt, given the backlog in processing new licenses for the recreational market, that this gives Vance Dugger a clear advantage headed into 2022.
