Jamie Clements: Is 'Breathwork' The Answer To Disconnection And A Crisis Of Meaning? | EP 48

Play Episode Listen Later May 13, 2025 105:27

Breathwork has been and continues to be a foundational part of my personal and professional journey...However, after nearly 50 published episodes, we've yet to dive deep into its transformative power. This is something, I'm excited to change today in my conversation with Jamie Clements. As a leading breathwork coach and the founder of 'The Breath Space', Jamie is dedicated to helping people reconnect with themselves through the accessible and transformative tool of their own breath.Having struggled with anxiety, depression and panic attacks in his late teens and early 20s, Jamie discovered the power of breathwork through his own lived experience. What began as a tool for exploration to support him on his journey, ultimately became a pathway to embodiment, emotional freedom, and purpose. His mission today is to make breathwork both accessible and transformative. Whether it's performance breathwork for athletes, therapeutic breathwork for healing, or simple breathing techniques for nervous system regulation, Jamie believes that the power of the breath can support us all. He works with a wide range of clients—from entrepreneurs and athletes to creatives and professionals—supporting them in cultivating healthier & more resilient lives. In our conversation, Jamie and I explore:His personal journey—from disconnection. Disembodiment & loss of purpose to reconnection, inner alignment & meaning. The challenges of our modern times, and how so many men are conditioned to live out the scripts of who we think we should be, rather than embracing who we truly are. ..We distill the umbrella term of breathwork into three core pillars: 1) functional breathing for everyday health, 2) emotional regulation and nervous system balance, and 3) therapeutic/transformational breathwork for healing. Throughout our conversation, we dive into the nuances of each pillar, highlighting key things to pay attention to, common pitfalls to avoid, and the personal breakthroughs and benefits that can emerge from this powerful practice. We also discuss the importance of discernment when pursuing a path of healing, and how meaningful inner work requires the support of community, integration, and embracing who we already are today. As I see it, this episode is a powerful one for any man looking to understand the depth and breadth of breathwork—not just as a tool, but as a way of living. It offers both practical insights alongside emotional depth for anyone on a path of healing, self-discovery, and embodied leadershipLet's dive in...—Connect with Jamie Clements:Website: https://thebreathspace.co.uk/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieclements_YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNCipTXpNSuf6gPrKZ8bMFg—Connect with Alex Lehmann:Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featuredListen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.comInterested in working with me 1:1? Bjoern Keune: When Chasing Success Costs You Integrity & Freedom — and How to Reclaim It | EP 47

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 29, 2025 78:58

Bjoern Keune is a successful entrepreneur and investor with over 13 years of experience founding and managing companies—and someone I am proud to call a dear friend. Leaving business school before graduation to immerse himself in real-world entrepreneurship, Bjoern co-founded and served as CEO of Invincible Brands, a direct-to-consumer platform that he scaled from zero to €120 million in sales within just five years. Despite his extraordinary achievements, Bjoern's relentless pursuit of success came at a significant personal cost. Along the way, he created numerous personas, or false images, of how he believed he needed to show up to fulfill the role of leading the company. To cope with the intense demands of running the business, he developed several addictions, which, in his own words, ruined the health of his own body and mind. The emptiness of this reality and the worsening of his life circumstances forced him down a path of self-discovery in the search for answers. After exiting the company and finally achieving the business success he had always believed would bring him the freedom he was looking for, he realized this achievement did not offer him the liberation he truly desired. Overwhelmed by stress, disconnected from his true self, and burdened by the weight of the inauthentic personas he had created, Bjoern recognized the need for radical transformation and a return to integrity with himself and his environment. It was during this time that he explored various ancient wisdom teachings, coaching, and connected with the life-altering practice of Connected Breathwork. These tools allowed him to reclaim his sense of self and uncover a deeper connection with his inner truth. Through this journey, Bjoern gained a new perspective on life, realizing that the happiness and freedom he sought could not be achieved through his old methods alone. In our conversation together: Bjoern and I dove deeply into his personal journey as he pursued external success. He acknowledged that, along his journey, he lost sight of the very freedom he had been searching for. Instead, he became trapped in a system that left him feeling anything but free— living by the assumption that he had to be and show up in a certain way. We explored the roles and personas Bjoern adopted - repeatedly affirming to himself that he needed to be someone other than who he truly is. We also unpacked the weight of the demands he was experiencing and the vices he subsequently turned to—such as pornography, sex, and drugs—to manage the overwhelm of his circumstances and the pain of disconnection, as well as the challenge of letting these vices go when he had relied upon them to self-soothe, self-regulate, and meet unmet needs. We dove into his journey of change, including how he stepped out of the roles, personas, and identities he had created for himself, and how he embraced the emotions he had long disconnected from—particularly in relationship to grief. We discussed the power of radical honesty and what it looked like for Bjoern to return to integrity and become a man he could truly be proud of.This has been an incredible conversation with someone I deeply value in my life. Ryan Moresby-White: 'Heal The Boy, So The Man Can Appear' | EP 46

'Heal The Boy, So The Man Can Appear'This message lies at the heart of my next guest's work: Ryan Moresby-White. As a relationship coach and advocate for men's mental health, Ryan is devoted to helping men uncover and heal the root causes of their suffering—unresolved childhood trauma, internalized shame, and the emotional disconnection so many men carry in silence. His mission is clear: To guide men into a deeper relationship with themselves, to help them face the wounds of their past with compassion and courage, and to support them in reclaiming a more integrated, authentic expression of masculinity—one that holds both strength and softness, direction and depth.Born in South Africa and raised in Australia, Ryan appeared to be doing everything “right” on the surface nearly a decade ago—building a successful career in the construction industry and relentlessly following the path he believed he was meant to take. Yet internally, the weight of living a façade began to wear on him.Over time, it became clear that the high expectations placed on him growing up, the emotional disconnection within his family, and a deep fear of abandonment had quietly shaped his sense of self—leaving him with the belief that he was unworthy and unlovable. It wasn't until he came face-to-face with his deep need for significance—and the emotional pain he had long been trying to mask—that he began the journey of unraveling his past and rebuilding himself from within." It was during this pivotal time that it became clear to him: if we want lives of authenticity and freedom, we must address our early developmental stages and understand how they continue to influence us today. In our conversation, Ryan and I dive deep into; His understanding of how we are shaped from a young age as boys, the stories we inherit, and the internalized shame that festers as a result of emotional wounding. We discuss how to move through this shame and also explore how our relationships with our mothers and fathers shape us—unpacking the mother wound and examining how Ryan worked through his relationship with his father, ultimately finding acceptance for the high demands placed on him from a young age. We discuss the critical role that cultivating nourishment as a discipline, along with the importance of brotherhood and community plays as essential pillars in fostering emotional resilience." As I see it, this episode is a powerful one for any man looking to gain a deeper understanding of how our past shapes our present—impacting our relationships, professional lives, and connection to ourselves. It touches on essential pillars needed for a journey of restoration and healing and offers a glimpse into what's possible when a man does this work. And now let's dive into this powerful and heart-led conversation with Ryan Moresby-White and me—Connect with Ryan Moresby-WhiteInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryanmoresbywhiteFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/ryan.moresbywhite/—Connect with Alex Lehmann:Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featuredListen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.comInterested in working with me 1:1? Solange Beaumont: Healing The 'Mother' & 'Father' Wound To Transform Your Relationships | EP 45

Solange Beaumont is a Holistic Trauma Healing Therapist with over a decade of experience in supporting individuals through emotional healing and growth. Her passion lies in guiding people toward healing deep emotional wounds and facilitating spaces where they can acknowledge the pains of their past. She supports them in unraveling layers of emotional armor and dissolving blockages that have created disconnection from themselves and others. Solange's own healing journey began at the early age of 16. After losing her father, who had been her primary caregiver, she was left feeling lost and disconnected. This experience set her on a path of growth and healing that has unfolded over the past two decades, guiding her through grief, co-dependency, feelings of unworthiness, loneliness, and suppressed emotions she hadn't yet acknowledged.A core aspect of Solange's work today is Family Constellation Therapy, a unique healing modality that uncovers hidden dynamics within family systems and relationships. This approach aims to address imbalances or dysfunctions by resolving unresolved conflicts or wounds within the family, whether they exist on a conscious or subconscious level It was in one of these workshop settings that I first encountered Solange and her transformative work. During the workshop, I began addressing an early imprint related to my mother—one I had become aware was showing up in my intimate relationships. What transpired during this time was something I could never have anticipated. This experience provided an opportunity to see, acknowledge, and fully feel emotions that had been repressed for nearly three decades. For the first time, I was able to offer the response I had longed to express but couldn't at a younger age. I left the session with a palpable sense of change, noticing a distinct shift in my relationship with my parents as I prepared to return to Germany just a few days later. Since then, I've had the opportunity to return for one more constellation, and once again, I left with a similar, palpable shift—acknowledging what had been left unacknowledged and gaining a deeper discernment of what is mine and what is not.For the purpose of this interview, I wanted to come together with Solange to explore the early imprints we receive from our primary caregivers, and how our relationships with our mother and father shape us later in adult life, particularly when we come together in intimate relationship with others. We unpack some of the systemic principles of this modality and how it can help us understand potential imbalances we may have experienced. We discuss how we can acknowledge these imbalances, give ourselves permission to feel what's there, see what's present, and ultimately come into a maturation and individuation beyond those initial imprints. This is an incredible conversation for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of how our early imprints can impact us today and how we can integrate them to live with more sovereignty and authenticity. Having personally experienced significant results from her work, I also hope that sharing my experiences will be beneficial to you...—Connect with Solange Beaumont:Website:https://www.solangebeaumont.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/solange.beaumont—Connect with Alex Lehmann:Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featuredListen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.comInterested in working with me 1:1? From battling suicidal ideation to overcoming significant mental health challenges, Ash stands as a beacon of resilience, offering not just intellecutual knowledge but wisdom forged by his own lived experience. I first met Ash a few years ago when he joined the team at Breathwork Bali, bringing his expertise to offer upskilling and training to us in the field. Over time, I discovered further parallels between us, as Ash had also been supported by one of my mentors, Amir Khalighi. When I approached Ash about being a guest on my podcast, he suggested we start with a session together before recording our conversation. That session turned out to be one of the most impactful bodywork experiences of my life. It wasn't just about releasing physical tension; it revealed areas in my body where I was still disconnected from myself and exposed the armoring that had been present to protect me—perhaps even for decades. I left our session asking him how we could continue this work, which led to us meeting twice a week for a two and a half month period. During this time, I was able to restore deeper contact with certain areas of my body and release physical and emotional burdens I had carried for many years. In our conversation together, Ash shares his wisdom about the human body and his observations of the patterns and compensations that emerge in men's bodies due to past experiences or conditioning. He provides not only deep insights into the body's innate intelligence but also practical tools for men to begin reclaiming their connection to themselves. From there, our discussion transitions into Ash's journey in men's work, exploring his reflections on what it means to be a man and the lessons he has learned over years of actively engaging in personal growth and men's development. Ash's commitment to this work is a driving force behind the immersive experiences he now offers, helping men to move beyond disconnection and into alignment with their true selves. As I see it, this episode offers you the chance to dive deeper into the wisdom of the body, exploring the ways we as men can stay disconnected, and learn actionable steps to reclaim that connection. Steve Shiva Corbett is a man committed to embodying deep integrity, presence & authentic masculinity in his life & work... As a coach, leader & father of 2, he is the founder of multiple organizations devoted to human transformation through psychological, sexual & embodiment practices. His work is a call to those men that are ready to step into their power, confront their shadows & live in alignment with their deeper truth. For over 14 years, Steve has walked the path of Tantra, a philosophy & practice that demanded radical self-awareness & deep integration from within. Introduced to its teachings at the OSHO International Resort in Pune, India, he discovered a way of living for himself that honors the full spectrum of the human experience—whether the light & the shadow alike. This integration is at the heart of his teachings, guiding men toward greater presence, authenticity, and wholeness.A long time ago, however, his life looked very different...Steve climbed the corporate ladder to become a Sales Director in a successful international company & from the outside, it seemed like he had it all... In his own words, he was living the rock star lifestyle—good money, an apartment with a pool, a BMW convertible, top beaches & a beautiful girlfriend. Everything was at his feet.Except for one thing: he couldn't feel a thing. Beneath the surface, he was empty. There was no joy.The confronting truth he had to face was that his success was built on a carefully constructed image—one that wasn't truly him. A reputation built on lies. And facing the truth meant tearing that very image down, piece by piece. It meant stripping away every action, behavior & belief that wasn't aligned with who he really was.As he puts it: "I had to transform from the man I thought I had to be into the man I actually am. I now know—nothing beats the truth. Except my heart. And I listen to every beat, keeping me in my integrity, in who I am, in any given moment, wherever I am."In our conversation, we explored: Steve's personal journey toward deeper congruence—aligning how he presented himself externally with who he truly is. The challenges he faced stepping into greater authenticityHow a significant part of his journey involved recognizing & reclaiming the innate sensitivity he had carried since childhoodHow he worked to integrate all aspects of himself, breaking free from the grip of past conditioningMasculine and feminine energetics—not only what they mean from Steve's perspective but also how we can embody them in our own lives.A recurring theme in our discussion was the role of vulnerability in a man's life... We examined the risks of remaining guarded & the impact that avoidance can have on our connection to ourselves & others. The conversation sheds light on the dangers of suppressing what we fear & the power of embracing our full emotional spectrum, cultivating true emotional competence in the processThis is a powerful episode for any man seeking to closer understand concepts such as polarity, masculine and feminine energetics, and how to embody these principles in a way that fosters deeper self-awareness, connection & leadership—both in their personal lives & relationships.—Connect with Steve Shiva Corbett:Website: https://notorioushearts.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/steve.shiva.official/Join Steve's upcoming "Rites Of Passage" Workshop: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/notoriousheartsllc/1533004—Connect with Alex Lehmann:Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featuredListen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.comInterested in working with me 1:1? In today's conversation, we'll dive into one of the most essential aspects of his work: the shadow, in anticipation of the release of his upcoming book „Shadow Work“.In my own journey, I first encountered the concept of the shadow several years ago, a term popularized in Western culture by the renowned psychotherapist Carl Jung – and in our conversation today, Pat and I explore the origins of the shadow, how it's formed, and how we can bring awareness to it.We discuss:The unconscious behaviors and protective strategies we may be playing out, how to work with them, and how this awareness can transform how we relate to ourselves and others. How the shadow shows up in romantic relationshipsCommon emotions we often push into the shadow, such as shame, grief, and anger. We tackle the ever-present inner critic, which is so common for many men, and discuss how we can relate to it in a healthier way to live more freely and authentically. At the heart of this episode is the importance of shining light on the aspects of ourselves that are hidden and may be unconsciously dictating our lives—bringing them into awareness, and learning to be in right relationship with them.As I see it, this conversation serves as a masterclass on the shadow—understanding what it is, how we encounter it, and how we can integrate those disowned aspects of ourselves into our daily lives. This is a conversation you won't want to miss, and it's been an absolute pleasure for me to co-create with my new friend, Pat...—Connect with Pat DivillyWebsite: https://www.patdivilly.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/patdivillyRead Pat's Book "Fit Mind: 8 Weeks to Change Your Inner Soundtrack and Tune into Your Greatness": https://www.amazon.com/Fit-Mind-Change-Soundtrack-Greatness-ebook/dp/B09NFCM6BW?ref_=ast_author_dpPre-order Pat's upcoming Book "Shadow Work: A Practical Guide to Embracing your Shadow Side, Tackling Shame and Transforming Pain into Power: https://www.easons.com/shadow-work-pat-divilly-9781804581889?srsltid=AfmBOormQXHdyd4B31H3RnkQpYhIUJf197PmckeOViXSmU2-SWIWueiM&fbclid=PAY2xjawIWONFleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABpmTso9NEREyKF6j7LaX-OhGK2LsZHQnAw200GQzmc6dJ26rQW0-u9ME2KA_aem_hhbTp1_xARsLKz1fITOyHQ—Connect with Alex Lehmann:Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featuredListen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.comInterested in working with me 1:1? Vix Anderton is a somatic coach, authentic relating teacher, author, and self-described recovering perfectionist... In her own words, she spent over 15 years chasing achievement, striving to feel good enough, all in high-stress environments. This included her service in the UK Royal Air Force, and working as an advisor & consultant in corporate settings In pursuit of deeper liberation by working for herself, she doubled down on her famliar strategies of perfectionism, which ultimately led to burnout in her corporate role & set her on a journey of healing & deeper self discovery Drawing on her extensive experience in high-stress environments, from war zones to boardrooms, her work today is rooted in the foundational understandings of embodiment - using the principles of the nervous system, cyclical living & authentic relating to help resonating perfectionists bravely build more sustainable & authentic ways of being. Her passion lies in helping individuals overcome the internalized oppression that perfectionism brings upon us, enabling them to reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them. She is dedicated to guiding others in unlocking their inner wisdom, nurturing resilience, and expanding their embodied range, empowering them to navigate life's uncertainties with grace and confidence. Within our conversation together, we address this phenomenon of perfectionsim – discussing it as a coping mechanim that leads to unhelpful strategies in life, which tend to lead to repetitive behaviors that are not helpful for our long-term happiness nor wellbeing. Rather than supporting us, they become a collection of habits and patterns we use to protect ourselves. And while these mechanisms can be highly effective, they do come at a very high cost: In our attempts to guard ourselves, we also prevent ourselves from being truly seen by others. We discuss how the essential pillars of embodied awareness and resourcing ourselves can support the development of deeper range, allowing us to discover new ways of operating, so we're no longer confined by these old strategies We also touch on the modality of authentic relating, which has deeply influenced my own journey a few years back, supporting me to recover a deeper authenticity with myself and also foster deeper connections with others – and within that, we explore elements such as authenticity and what it truly means to experience relational intimacy with someone At its core, we explored that the more deeply we welcome every aspect of ourselves, the more comfortable we become in our own authentic expression, reducing the need to hide behind masks such as perfectionism. We also explored key principles embedded in the practice of authentic relating, offering a framework to create more depth and connection with ourselves and others And as always, these are only some of the subject matters that we address If you're a man who perpetually struggles under the weight of your inner critic—demanding more from yourself, seeking perfection, yet at the same time desiring deeper harmony with yourself and others—this one's for you... — Connect with Vix Anderton Website: https://vixanderton.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vix_anderton Read Vix's Book "Enough: An Imperfect Antidote to Perfectionism": https://www.amazon.com/Enough-Imperfect-Perfectionism-Vix-Anderton/dp/B0BBPY7BXD?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Connect with Alex Lehmann: Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featured Listen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478 Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.com Interested in working with me 1:1? It is arguably the most important discussion I've published to date on the subject of leading your relationships and sustaining the fire within them. I have the great honor to be inviting Justin Patrick Pierce back on the podcast, this time alongside his wife, Londin Angel Winters. The first podcast I recorded with Justin quickly became the most downloaded episode of the show and, as I see it, served as a powerful declaration of the importance for us as men to bring awareness to how we are showing up in our intimate relationships and how we can sustain desire over the long run Today's episode continues that conversation and goes even deeper into one essential question: What does it take to sustain depth, intimacy, and fire in a long-term, committed monogamous relationship? Before coming together for this conversation, I took time to reflect on the subject of desire, which can still feel somehwhat elusive and complex. Up until a few years ago, I myself couldn't articulate what truly awakened my desire for someone—or what repelled it. I was also unaware of what creates the "neutrality" so many couples find themselves in over time. For the sake of providing answers on the subject of what creates neutrality and how we can be liberated in our desires, I have structured our conversation together around the framework used by Justin and Londin in their most recent book, Playing with Fire The episode today will be a continuation of my first conversation with Justin, so if you're unfamiliar with teachings of polarity, their book Playing with Fire, or their use of terms like “Alpha,” “Omega,” “Seer,” and “Feeler,” my encouragement is to listen to my first conversation with Justin as it lays a strong foundation for these teachings and the ideas we explore today. In the realm of polarity, sacred intimacy, and welcoming relationships as a ground for spiritual growth, I hold few individuals in higher regard than Justin and Londin. Together, they lead a business, write, teach, and live as householders, while also raising their daughter, Eva, and remaining committed to sustaining the fire of their relationship—16 years strong. My deepest hope is that this conversation leaves you with a clearer understanding of the foundational pillars that make relationships thrive, along with tools to support your own journey of love and intimacy. Today on Heart of Man, I am honored to be joined by Adam Jackson, the co-founder and Chief Vision Officer of Sacred Sons, a leading global organization devoted to modern men's work, fostering brotherhood, and promoting conscious healing. Renowned for hosting transformative large-scale men's gatherings, such as Convergence and EMX, these immersive experiences bring men from all over the world together to engage in deep healing, personal growth, and authentic connection. Within Sacred Sons, Adam has played a pivotal role in creating spaces where men can explore their authentic selves, cultivate emotional resilience, and embrace embodied leadership. He's also the host of the Sacred Sons Podcast, where he facilitates deep and transformative conversations with fellow leaders that guide men toward authentic masculinity and personal growth. Their work is rooted in the belief that brotherhood is the medicine and that men's healing must be relational, physical, and grounded in nature. Through Sacred Sons, Adam and his team have been actively guiding the resurgence of the father archetype—both as a personal guide for wisdom and as a collective model for leadership and responsibility. In his personal life, Fatherhood has deeply shaped Adam's own journey, inspiring a deep commitment to conscious parenting, meaningful relationships, and continual inner growth. As a dedicated partner and father, Adam strives to live with intention, harmonizing his roles as a parent, partner, leader and visionary with purpose and authenticity. In our conversation, Adam and I dive into the philosophy behind Sacred Sons, exploring some of the key challenges he encounters that men are facing during their trainings. We discuss the importance of integrating embodiment alongside relational practices to foster deeper trust, connection, and emotional resilience. We unpack the importance of incorporating ritual combat, where men consciously engage with each other through the use of gloves as a tool for connection and growth. Adam also shares his insights on why he believes brotherhood is the medicine, and one of Sacred Sons' core missions in reintegrating the father archetype—both within individuals and in society as a whole. And these are just some of the subject matters we addressed. This was truly a rich and transformative discussion that dives into the heart of men's work with one of the leaders at the forefront of this movement. Edward Dangerfield is back on the Heart of Man as the first-ever returning guest on the show. For those who need a refresher—or who haven't listened to our first conversation which I'd highly recommend—Edward is a nervous system specialist, teacher, and the visionary founder of the Facilitated Breath Repatterning Technique and Breathwork Bali. On a personal note, Edward has been a long-time mentor of mine and someone I'm incredibly grateful to call a dear friend. Edward's transformative journey began over a decade ago when he survived a near-death experience, finding himself caught in an avalanche. Confronted with the aftermath of Post-Traumatic Stress, he embarked on a journey to discover the wisdom, tools, and practices needed to heal and regulate his nervous system. Along the way, he explored a variety of healing modalities before discovering the profound power of Conscious Connected Breathwork—a practice that would forever change his life. With a deep calling to help others, Edward has dedicated himself to guiding individuals toward feeling at home in their bodies by reclaiming the power of their own breath. After our first interview, many of you reached out expressing interest in one particular topic we touched on — the importance of men cultivating an integrous relationship with their sexual energy, and how that translates over to our relationship to others. In this episode, we dive deeply into this topic, but we don't stop there. Together, Edward and I explore what it truly means to come home to our bodies and address that loss of connection with ourselves. Within this rich dialogue, we examine: What happens when we feel disconnected from our bodies The ways this disconnection affects our lives and relationships and an overview of steps we can take to reclaim a felt sense of being at home within ourselves This was a profound and deeply enriching conversation with one of my favorite humans. Growing up without a clear model of healthy masculinity nor an understanding of what it means to be a man, Nemanja faced a challenging childhood, shaped by the profound impact of two wars in his home country of Serbia. This eventually led him to venture out into the world in search of mentors and teachers who could support his growth and help him reclaim and nurture the parts of himself that had been hidden in the shadows. Determined to uncover his fullest potential, he embarked on a lifelong journey of discovery, immersing himself in a wide range of disciplines such as martial arts, movement, yoga, psychology, personal development, plant medicine, and shamanism. From the jungles of indigenous tribes to the ancient philosophies of India and China, Nemanja sought wisdom from every corner of the world. For over 20 years, Nemanja has passionately shared his gifts, teaching more than 70,000 people in over 1,000 workshops around the globe and reaching millions more through his online programs and videos. His work is devoted to helping men and women awaken to their purpose, embody their natural gifts, and create lives filled with authenticity, joy, and connection. Combining his expertise in movement with coaching, Nemanja serves as a powerful conduit for love and inspiration, empowering individuals to step boldly into their highest potential. In this conversation with Nemanja, we explore the profound impact that movement disciplines such as dance and martial arts—particularly capoeira—have had on his personal journey. Using these practices as metaphors, we examine the interplay between the "masculine" and "feminine", the dynamics of "leading" vs. "following" and the balance between "stillness" and "expression". Nemanja shares how his journey with movement has guided him toward a deep integration and embodiment of these complementary spectrums. Additionally, we dive deeply into Nemanja's understanding of masculinity and the developmental journey that men are being asked to embark on. We explore the value and importance of mentors, the need for men to build a healthy relationship with shame, and how we can come into right relationship with power. And finally, we explore Nemanja's deeper understandings of relationships, including his philosophy on communication, how to lead through moments of trigger, and the practices that support cultivating a healthy and loving relationship culture. As I've come to understand, at the heart of Nemanja's mission lies a profound belief that we are here to live fully, share our hearts with openness and radiance, and contribute to creating a better world for future generations. Like many men, Nic Warner, eventually reached a point in his life where his only relief came from the act of numbing himself to the burdens of the life he had created—whether through drugs, alcohol, or pornography. Following the breakdown of his marriage, he found himself with only one option left: to confront everything he had been avoiding. What began as a five-week holiday turned into a 3.5-year journey of healing and self-discovery, traveling across the globe. A decade since that one defining moment, Nic's commitment to personal growth has led him to study a wide range of transformative practices, such as meditation, breathwork, masculine embodiment, traditional indigenous initiation, plant medicine, tantra, and sexual polarity. Through this journey, he recognized the urgent need to address the wounds affecting men but also the masculine expression that's prevalent in our society today. Nic now dedicates his life to helping men heal and evolve, empowering them towards a sense of clarity, purpose, authenticity, integrity, and confidence. By now, Nic has worked with hundreds of men, guiding them to heal their relationships with themselves and others, rediscover the power of living with a sense of purpose, and embody their unique truth. I've personally been following Nic's work for the past three years, and I was immediately struck by the parallels between our journeys of healing and discovery. Both of us encountered similar stepping stones that not only helped us towards a sense of maturity but also provided us with an embodied understanding of who we are as men From traveling the world and confronting our deepest fears to immersing ourselves in various rituals and rites of passage, we both instinctively sought to initiate ourselves into manhood, which became a central focus of our discussion today. In our interview, Nic and I unpack his personal rock-bottom moment and the various events leading up to it. He introduces this theme of rites of passage from boyhood to manhood, exploring how the absence of such rituals affects men today, leaving many well into adulthood feeling ungrounded in their own sense of manhood. From there, our conversation shifts to the power of men's work. Having both explored a wide array of healing modalities and various forms of men's development, we both inquire into what would truly leaves a transformative impact. And finally, we examine the role of relationships and the dysfunction that can arise when we as men have not fully embraced our rightful place as integrated men. In our modern times, where many men feel confused about who they are and their place in the world, I feel that Nic stands out as a strong beacon in the fields of masculine embodiment, rites of passage, sacred intimacy, and polarity, thanks to his deep commitment to his own journey and his cultivated understanding of what truly works, so I am really excited for you all to dive into this engaging conversation. — Connect with Nic Warner: Website: https://www.nicwarner.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicwarner/?hl=en Discover more about "Thirteen Pines": https://www.thirteenpines.com/ Connect with Alex Lehmann: Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_/?hl=en Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featured Listen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478 Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.com Interested in working with me 1:1? In the conversation around love and relationships, one topic that consistently comes up is our different styles of attachment and how they might shape the ways we relate to each other. And while this is an important conversation to have, I often feel that many mediums lack the depth and nuance that this subject actually deserves. This inspired me to dig deeper and explore some key questions: "What is the process of attachment?" "Why does it play such a vital role in the quality of our relationships as we grow up?" "And if there has been wounding or ruptures, how can we lead ourselves on a journey of healing and integration?" With that, it's my great honor to welcome a true elder to the podcast today, Duey Freeman. Duey has spent many decades working as a licensed psychotherapist, teacher, and consultant. His background is incredibly rich, with extensive training in Gestalt therapy, equine therapy, family therapy, bioenergetics, and counseling. Throughout his 50-year career, Duey has accumulated an impressive amount of direct client experience, surpassing 80,000 client hours. Through this wealth of experience, he has developed a simple yet profoundly potent attachment model that helps individuals understand the process of attachment, the three fundamental 'nutrients' required from the point of conception and birth, what happens when these essential needs are unmet and how we can as well begin a journey of healing when we've experienced their absence. This episode was especially vulnerable for me, as I share about my own journey of navigating a rupture of connection with my own mother. I open up about the traumatic events that impacted her life and how those events shaped our relationship. This is something I usually keep private, but in Duey's presence, and in service to the conversation, I felt it was right to share parts of my story while honoring her experience. Since our conversation, I'm happy to share that I've found tremendous growth and healing in this area, now xperiencing a depth in my relationship with my family that I had never known before. Duey is a true elder who has dedicated his life to helping people heal and navigate the ruptures in their lives so they can cultivate the quality of relationships they desire. I am deeply grateful for the time we spent together and honor his ability to communicate these complex subjects with both depth and clarity, while embodying tqualities such as compassion, love, and strength. How can we honor our desire for deep intimacy & union while also staying true to our own individuality and sovereignty? These are just a some of the questions that can surface in romantic relationships In my desire to engage in an open dialogue about these subject matters, I am excited to be inviting my first couple onto the podcast – with returning guest, Amir Khalighi ,and his wife, Keri. Now, there are many reasons why I wanted to have both of them on the show. What I can share here already from my observations is that Amir and Keri have truly traversed the fires of romantic relating. Both of them bring decades worth of experience from their previous marriages. They were both initiated into parenthood before meeting each other, and both had to humbly acknowledge when their relationships were no longer working. Their realizations led them on their individual journeys of discovery and healing, which ultimately brought them together, fostering the marriage and family they have today. And while I met Keri for the first time on the day of our recording, I've known Amir for over two years as a mentor. I've been continuously inspired by the love, devotion, and commitment he embodies every time he talks about his wife and family. In our conversation I was drawn to hear about their failures, successes and lessons, hopefully inspiring and educating all of you who are listening in the process... Here, we dive into their journey—how they met, the phases they had to go through to create the marriage they have today. We also explored their perspectives on the challenges faced by the men and women they serve, as well as the struggles and lessons they've learned within their own relationship. Amir, known for his work in "Embodied Masculine“ that reaches men world-wide and Keri, through her profound guidance of women back to their essence with "The Way of the Elements," are both recognized and acclaimed leaders in their communities. Alison Armstrong is a sought after teacher, thought leader and the author of the best-selling books „Keys to the Kingdom“ & the „Queen's Code“. For over three decades, she has been teaching and speaking about men, women, human behavior and relationships. Through her seminars, books, online programs and media contributions, she has been giving millions of people access to more fulfilling lives, loving relationships, stronger families and more productive organizations. By now, her philosophy and approach have been referenced and taught by many other authors, speakers, and therapists. Alison's exploration of human behavior and relationships began in 1991 when she decided to study men in an effort to understand how she was, in her words “bringing out the worst in them,” with the hope of learning how to bring out the best. Her success in understanding men naturally led her to study women's behavior as well, making vital connections between the two. As her work evolved over the decades, Alison now illuminates the human characteristics that shape the behavior of both men and women, regardless of gender, age, or upbringing. She distinguishes the common human instincts hat often create conflict in relationships and communication, but also reveals how understanding these instincts can help us thrive in relationships. In my conversation with Alison, we revisited the defining moment in her personal journey when she discovered that she was, quote-unquote, “a frog farmer,”. This realization sparked an immense personal evolution, as she learned to bring out the best in men by recognizing how she was contributing to the difficulties in her personal relationships. From there, we dove deep into how shame manifests itself in men, how they can find their way back to empowerment and forgiveness, and how to normalize their relationship with sexuality. Throughout this exploration, Alison offered powerful insights, emphasizing that the capacity to feel shame is actually evidence of our sense of honor. She introduced a process she calls “Noble Forgiveness” to help men find restoration, providing a lens through which they can see themselves more clearly. I believe that one of the greatest gifts I've received from Alison's work is the release of the residual shame I carried for being a man and the discovery of the beauty within men and masculinity through the incredible ways she speaks about them. My hope is that you receive the same gift Some key themes we explored: Alison's personal journey of discovering how she was bringing out the worst in men The defining moments that helped her reshape her view on men and she ended up bringing out the best in men The difference between "caring" & "loving" for men Men's relationship to shame & how it's created Defining courage & honor as men Healing shame & restoring our sense of wholeness through the process of "noble forgiveness" Normalizing sexuality & redefining it as nourishment And much more... — Connect with Alison Armstrong: Website: https://www.alisonarmstrong.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thealisonarmstrong/?hl=de Listen to "The Queen's Code": https://www.alisonarmstrong.com/products/qc-audiobook.html Join Alison's mentioned course "Extreme Freedom": https://www.alisonarmstrong.com/extreme_freedom/ Connect with Alex Lehmann: Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_/?hl=en Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featured Listen to this conversation on Apple Podcasts and leave a review: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-of-man/id1697289478 Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.com Interested in working with me 1:1? Alex Mischka: The Art of Connection & Attraction — Navigating Modern Dating & Relationships | EP 30

Often when I speak to men and women about dating and relationships, I consistently hear accounts of singles feeling somewhat dissatisfied within the current state of modern dating... This also applies to those in relationships who wonder how to maintain that spark of aliveness and arousal when the honeymoon phase has fizzled out... These are the very subjects I sought to address in this upcoming interview with my dear friend Alex Mischka. Alex is a relationship and sexuality coach, as well as an embodied men's work facilitator. His specialty and passion lies in helping men and women harness their personal power on an embodied level and lead the realms of intimacy and relationships with a sense of confidence and sexual sovereignty. I first met Alex over a year ago when we were both going through a facilitator program with our mutual mentor, Amir Khalighi. Since then, I've had the great honor of witnessing Alex not only in his professional life but also in his personal life and I've been captivated by Alex's embodied capacity to lead his social interactions. In the conversation, he spoke about how his work over many years has moved beyond a paradigm of acquisition or trying to get something from someone—and instead the focus has been on how he can light up the world by eliciting a feeling of aliveness in himself and others through the art of connection. In the first half of our interview, Alex and I dive into the realms of dating, addressing some of the challenges present in our current times and how we can create social connections but also reintroduce seduction back into our lives. The word 'seduction' has gained a bad reputation—and for valid reason, given the impact that occurs when there's an absence of heart-connection or a genuine desire to relate to another person. However, I deeply appreciated the reframe offered in this conversation: focusing on eliciting a feeling of aliveness and creating genuine connections From there, Alex and I transition into the sometimes murky waters of intimate relationships, addressing the tension we constantly navigate between establishing deeper connection or love with our partners while simultaneously nurturing that attraction and flow of arousal. What I regularly discover with clients and people I talk to is that they excel in one of these areas but struggle with the other. Often, this happens because we're not aware of the fact that these are opposing, yet complimentary disciplinesor practices. Every man has the capacity to cultivate a depth of presence that commands and quiets a room... A clear confidence with heartful structure and passionate depth... And a conscious engagement with purpose that honors both doing and being... An embodied wildness that transcends the walls of a home and the constraints of a busy schedule... We are taught to achieve outward "success," but no matter how well you do, eventually you'll reach a point where something is still missing, where all that you have achieved is simply not enough. Reclaiming what is missing requires a commitment to a new journey, a deeper exploration than most men are willing or able to make on their own... These are the words you will find on Eli Buren's website, who is our latest guest on the podcast. These words beautifully describe the essence of what Eli brings through his work by leading groups and individuals into their core being, where pristine presence, powerful passion, and true purpose naturally emerge. I first became exposed to Eli and his work at the beginning of this year by attending his 3-month Men's Container, "The Dojo," where we were guided into in-depth teachings on martial forms, deep meditation, and other embodied presence practices. These ultimately supported us in developing our capacity to meet our lives and the world with cultivated strength, sensitivity, openness, and depth. From my first experience with Eli, I was awe-inspired by his capacity to command a space while also sharpening each individual in the room towards deeper presence, depth, and consciousness – so it's an absolute honor to have him on the show today... This conversation came at the completion of the Dojo and served as an exploration around the importance of cultivating presence and depth, how this may support us in our lives, and what it actually means to lead our lives with a sense of devotion and agency. We also had an interesting exploration around expanding range – whether it's from softness to fierce strength, fluidity to structure, or play to responsibility among many other valuable topics It was an absolute pleasure for me to have this conversation with Eli, someone I see as a dear teacher and mentor, and I am confident that you will receive a lot of value from our interview together. — Connect with Eli: Website: https://eliburen.com/ Join Eli's upcoming 3-Month Program "The Dojo": https://eliburen.com/dojo/ Instragram: https://www.instagram.com/eliburen/?hl=de Connect with Alex: Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_/?hl=en Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featured Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.com Interested in working with me 1:1? Tara Meegan is the Creative Director and a Lead Teacher with the Embodied Awakening Academy, a globally recognized Tantra school leading over 20,000 students worldwide in the realms of emotional, relational, and sexual mastery. For almost a decade, Tara has been devoted to living the philosophy of Tantra in every aspect of her life, passionately sharing this knowledge alongside her lived experiences. Now, you may be wondering, what is Tantra, and why is it valuable? Before I offer my take on it, I want to acknowledge that I asked myself the very same question when I was first exposed to Tantra over two years ago. At the time, I was seeking deeper resolution in my emotional, relational, and sexual life and it was in my very first introductory workshop where I met Tara. This ultimately propelled me into a deep journey over the past years into this field of work. As I see it, you may consider Tantra as a philosophy or way of living that embraces every aspect of the human experience and seeks to create a harmonious relationship with it—this includes areas where we may hold deep shame, fear, and insecurities, but also our desires, needs, and longings. Tantra can support us in working with these aspects of ourselves, rather than keeping them hidden away. I can confidently say that this philosophy has provided me with many valuable insights, among other things, and I was excited to bring Tara on board— who's now become aa dear friend and someone I deeply respect in this field. I've always admired Tara's devotion to this path and the way she embodies the feminine principle. And while I do see differences in our work, I honor them as complementary serving a similar purpose. In this conversation, Tara and I dive into what Tantra means to her and explore some of the core tenets that are particularly predominant in the Embodied Awakening Academy. From there, we discuss some of the difficulties that Tara observes among the male clients she serves, offering an in-depth roadmap for reconnecting with ourselves emotionally and cultivating resilience. Additionally, she shares some great insights on relationships and sexuality towards the end of our conversation—insights that I have greatly benefited from and that have served me well in my own life. — Connect with Tara: Website: https://embodiedawakeningacademy.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tarameegan/?hl=de Find Out More about the "Embodied Awakening Academy: https://www.instagram.com/embodiedawakeningacademy/?hl=de Listen to the "Love, Sex & Freedom" Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5kj89Q668brjHTY78pybgU?si=43254fe2c5d24bab Connect with Alex: Website: https://www.alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_/?hl=en Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast/featured Email: alexlehmanncoaching@gmail.com Interested in working with me 1:1? Chris Bale is an internationally known Energy Worker, Qi Gong Teacher and Intimacy Mentor. In his work, Chris supports and activates deep transformations in the lives of men and women and has been doing so for over a decade. By now Chris has worked with thousands of individuals from all over the planet from many different walks of life. As he says, he didn't choose this work but rather he was drafted into it.. His love for the „spiritual“ began rather early when he was drawn to study the energetic arts at the ripe age of 16. Once he left School in Ireland, he pursued an extensive education in many different modalities of healing including traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, medical qigong, reiki and sexual alchemy. Alongside that, Chris has spent many years dedicated to his own internal work, unravelling many of his own inner workings and conditionings. This eventually led him to turn his attention towards assisting others with this same process. His deep experiential understandings of energetics and how humans orient themselves on a deeper level, forms the foundation of what he offers today. The conversation that we had was refreshingly raw and I appreciated Chris's balance between being unapologetic while simultaneously deeply compassionate. Having applied his simple, yet very direct teachings into my life, I've learned to appreciate Chris's directness and his capacity to speak to things boldly, all while serving a greater purpose such as truth, love and responsibility. In my conversation with Chris we lay out the challenges that he sees among men at our current times, speaking to the importance of being connected to our emotionality as men while not being carried away by it. We as well have a fascinating conversation around this idea of the "Mother Wound", how women can support their men on their journey of growth including some of the pitfalls that Chris sees, among various other topics. To close it off all I'll say buckle up for this conversation everybody and be ready to have your mind blown... "THE UNCIVILIZED MAN... Is Unapologetically Male. Dangerous but not a danger. Makes still his mind, makes savage his body. Knows his gifts grow in the garden of his wounds. Practices presence and performance. Honors the men before him, the women who bore him, and the children who will inherit his Earth. Has equal and easy access to his head, heart, and balls. Lives, by the rule — there are no rules — but there is responsibility. Loves fiercely, openly, and without reservation. Knows strength without love is tyranny. Knows love without strength is victimhood." These are the words you will find on the „about me“ page of the website „Man Uncivilized, created by the founder Traver Boehm. Traver is a man who knows men deeply. And much of the wisdom and insights he imparts to other men actually from his own lived experiences, particularly the breakdown moment that flipped his life upside down and catapulted him on his path of transformation. In a mere period of 24 hours, his wife and his business partner at the time both decided to go their separate ways – resulting in the loss of his marriage, business partnership, and business. Dumbstruck by what had happened, Traver knew the only way he could overcome this loss was by consciously moving through it. He created a program for himself called the "Year to Live Project," where he deliberately lived an entire year as if it was his last. And in that year among other things, he volunteered in hospice, spent 28 days in a dark room, and completed a one-month outdoor survival course. Eventually his own journey of growth led him to birth "Man Uncivilized" – one of the fastest-growing men's movements in the world where his mission is "to stop the unnecessary suffering in men in order to stop the suffering caused by men." I first became exposed to Traver's work three years ago when I read his book "Man Uncivilized." At the time, I was on a deep journey of self-discovery, exploring what it even means to be a man, but also how I could integrate the aspects of myself that I had locked away, such as my assertiveness, anger, grief, shame, and desires, among many other things. Traver's work has been absolutely pivotal for me in my own journey, and it was an honor to come full circle and invite Traver to "Heart of Man." As I see it, this conversation deeply lived up to the anticipation I had for it. We delved deeply into Traver's personal journey and extracted some of the deepest lessons, as well as what helped him move past rock bottom. And from there, we transitioned into our conversation around men and masculinity, diving into various areas such as moving through pain as men, relationships, and sexuality. This has been an absolutely powerful deep dive – and I can't wait for all of you to dive in. „Boys are born, men are made“... These are the words you will find on the front page of the website „Embodied Masculine“, created by founder Amir Khalighi. Around 2 years ago, I sensed a deep urge in me to seek out mentors in the fields of „men's work“ and „embodiment. But it wasn't just that I wanted to immerse myself in their teachings. There was a deep knowing inside me that I wanted to be initiated. I wanted to step into the next chapter of my life. One of deeper empowerment, maturity, and embracing who I am in my fullness as a man. It was around this time I was exposed to Amir's work which began with me attending his weekly embodiment circle – an immersive experience, where we were guided through various different themes each week. And for one and a half years this was the place I went to connect more deeply with other men, to metabolize and integrate the experiences that were still keeping me bound, to move through grief and heartbreak and step into a deeper range of expression & groundedness. This led me to participate in a 6 month facilitator program last year, culminating to a transformational retreat at the end of last year in Mount Shasta, California. For those unfamiliar with his work work, Amir Khalighi is a teacher, speaker, men's coach and the founder of "Embodied Masculine". He was initiated into working with men almost 30 years ago, after overcoming his own struggles with drug & alcohol addiction. In 2018, Amir received a clear vision to make his work with men his sole purpose, which led to the creation of „Embodied Masculine“ His teachings & trainings have shaped men worldwide – supporting them in the primary areas of empowerment, connection & purpose. A few months back, Amir informed me that he will be in Bali for a vacation and I knew this was the right moment for us to finally have our interview after almost a year of hosting „Heart Of Man“. In my view, this conversation did not disappoint. It was an in-depth exploration of Amir's journey to becoming the man he is today. A recurring theme is the idea of being connected to a vision, purpose and power greater than ourselves. What I've always deeply admired in Amir is his devotion, love and depth of clarity of why he's here on this planet – and I am confident that this understanding comes through strongly in our conversation. And in this insiders look, I had the great opportunity to hear about the challenges, successes and lessons that were learned along the way. Before we came together for our interview, I want to name that Linzey had offered me the chance to experience the Hakomi method, a psychosomatic modality in which he is trained in for the past 5 years. When I first became exposed to Justin's work alongside his Wife, Londin Angel Winters, I deeply appreciated their flexible approach to these teachings, where in the past I've found them to be too prescriptive towards how I and my partner was supposed to be. In his work, Justin commonly refers to these expressions as "Alpha" and "Omega," which can be seen as different energetic ways of operating. He has popularized the term "energetic agility" in relationships, speaking to our ability to adapt to different expressions depending on what the moment is calling for. I wanted to bring Justin along to speak to the essence of his teachings, and we ended up Immersing ourselves in an exploration of the challenges he sees among men and how they can be supported in the realm of relationships. For a number of years, Aaron put his focus towards supporting at-risk young people, gaining invaluable first hand experience, training and qualifications along the way. Driven by his passion for creating positive change, Aaron came to Bali at the beginning of 2020. This is where he created The Road, an initiative aimed at empowering and educating young men through experiential learning. Through his work he aims to enable young men to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, allowing them to understand themselves, their peers, and the world around them. Aaron's vision is to equip young men with life lessons and skills through guidance that many of us missed out on. He firmly believes in the importance of human connection through self-expression and vulnerability, recognizing that the cultivation of these skills are often missed. These past few months I've been connecting with a number of men who are fathers of young boys and it got me thinking: What can we do in order to effectively allow our boys transition into maturity and manhood? What is it that I and many of my fellow men missed out on that left a lasting impact on us? And so with that, I wanted to engage in a discussion... For anybody who is not a parent nor a young man moving through adolescence, my hope is that we still get to use this conversation as an access point to reflect on our own lives and past experiences. In my own exploration of what was absent during my upbringing and the impact this may have had on me; I've found such explorations to be empowering as it offered me the opportunity to intentionally provide myself with the things that I lacked. For parents of young men, I hope this can illuminate an understanding of what may be present for them and how you may be able to support them. A reminder: I want to humbly name that both Aaron and I are not fathers and neither of us want to assume to have any answers here, but the intention was begin a conversation – especially with Aaron's vast experiences of working with young men. — Connect with Aaron Binning: Website: https://www.theroadbali.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theroadbali/?hl=de Connect with Alex Lehmann Website: https://alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_?igsh=YzVkODRmOTdmMw== YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@HeartofManPodcast Interested in working with me 1:1? However, Aaron's life took an unexpected turn when he woke up one day, unable to move, on the very day he was about to embark on another mission Something within him knew that this wasn't the path laid out for him, encouraging him to take action on the changes asking to be made. In this spicy conversation, I had the great fortune of welcoming Alex Grendi to the podcast. Alex is a men's sex coach who helps men to overcome performance anxiety, erectile disfunction and premature ejaculation. His expertise lie in empowering men to become sexually sovereign, feeling more confident as lovers and cultivating deeper connections with their intimate partners both inside and outside the bedroom. Before entering this field of work, Alex personally experienced all kinds of challenges and insecurities within the bedroom. And despite having had a number of sexual experiences, he consistently felt disconnected from himself and his partners, often experiencing fear, anxiety or relying on substances to navigate his sexual encounters. Determined to find a path to deeper peace and connection, Alex embarked on a journey of self-exploration, so he can come into deeper understanding of the challenges he was having. Along this journey, he quickly discovered the importance of taking ownership over our own sexuality, drawing from his research in the fields of Taoism and Tantra. Fascinated by his learnings, he decided to bring more attention to it. And after being suggested to speak to a sex coach, Alex immediately felt the calling, eventually connecting with multiple coaches specializing in the realm of sexuality to bridge the gaps in his knowledge and understanding. Now I am aware that the topic of sexuallty can be charged point of contact for many, including myself before I began my own journey of unpacking this area in my own life. But over the years, I've come to recognize this to be an essential conversation Reflecting on my own personal journey and the many men I've had the opportunity to speak with and coach, the challenges within our sexual expression and how we can become more responsible are more prevalent than ever. Within our society, I've come to recognize the lack of education that's truly needed in this field and with the exposure of distorted messages through pornography and a lack of competence to navigate our own sexual desires, the confusion and disconnect for many men is increasing. My sincere hope with conversation like these is to offer men a new context beyond what they have been taught, inviting them into deeper self-acceptance, responsibility, and connection within their own sexuality. By exploring this topic openly and honestly, my aim is to provide insights that can empower men to reclaim their sexual sovereignty, create the safety that is needed within intimacy and foster stronger connections with their partners. I trust that you will find this conversation as immensely valuable as I did. In this podcast, we explore: How we can use sexuality as a gateway to building a deeper connection with ourselves Alex's personal journey of self-discovery and transformation, leading him to become a men's sex coach. The root cause of many challenges that happen in the bedroom The importance of emotional regulation in order to be able to perform in the bedroom How we can use the power of our breath to regulate our arousal and stress response The importance of communicating our desires, needs and limitations in the bedroom The damaging effects of pornography and finding a pathway forward Learning to self-source our own pleasure vs. seeking validation externally Taking control of our ejaculation for a more fulfilling sexual experience. — Connect with Alex Grendi: Website: https://go.superiorlovers.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Alex.Grendi Connect with Alex Lehmann Website: https://alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_?igsh=YzVkODRmOTdmMw== Interested in working with me 1:1? Welcome, everybody, to another episode at the „Heart of man. I am thrilled to have James Mattingley with us here today. James is a coach and facilitator with over a decade of experience leading groups, and guiding transformational experiences. Within his work, he leads in 3 distinct areas: Helping couples reignite the passion they had at the beginning but even better Supporting individuals to unveil their inner genius and superpower Leading men's groups focused on helping men step into courage and love on each other with their fists, using boxing and embodiment I first met James at a 3- day men's retreat I participated in. During our time together, he skillfully guided us into various different expressions through the use of boxing, embodiment practices & partner exercises. Within our first few moments together, James emphasized the importance of fighting for our brother and not against him, speaking to the fine line of challenging each other from a place of support rather than attempting to bring each other down. What stood out for me when I first made contact with James was his ability to embody what I'd describe as the „Warrior Poet“ - someone with a connection to his power & fierceness but can also access his gentleness & receptivity. Within the retreat, we were consistently challenged to explore the edges of that spectrum to expand our capacity to move with agility in both. A personal favorite moment of this conversation came at the opening of the podcast where James read out a poem he created, communicating the confusing messaging of who we are to be as men and this was followed by a rich discussion addressing the challenges of men in our modern times. From there, we range into a wide array of topics such as keeping the spark alive with an intimate partner even when the honeymoon phase has settled in, why leading from generosity in relationship is the path forward, why attempting to seek a purpose is not the way and what to do otherwise and many more exciting subject matters. In this conversation, James & I cover following topics: The expectations of who men are supposed to be in modern times The cost of men being disconnected from their strength & inner power How having a wider range of expression can lead to more confidence What is transformational combat & why it's valuable for men to connect to their inner fighter How couples can keep the spark alive - even when the honeymoon phase has settled Why it's important for couples to get clear on a relationship vision Why attempting to seek one's purpose is not the way & what do do instead How to effectively carry our wounds in relationship — Connect with James: Website: https://www.jamesmattingley.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/james.mattingley/?hl=de Connect with Alex Website: https://alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_?igsh=YzVkODRmOTdmMw== Interested in working with me 1:1? His own personal journey began with his aspiration to play professional baseball. After numerous injuries, he came to a point where he had to hang up the gloves for good, and open himself up to a new chapter. He quickly found a passion for the field of coaching, specifically within the realm of strength and conditioning and ended up transitioning into guiding world-class athletes through his programs. Stephen came to a point where in his own words he had it all: He had the wife, the dogs, the cars, the house, the friends and yet, he shares that he was miserable without any understanding why he was feeling this way. This break-down moment forced Stephen on a path where he had to begin to open the door to the emotional basement he had locked away long ago On his path to healing he ended up working with therapists and spiritual mentors and yet, some of his most profound shifts occurred during his extensive travels around the world. Being immersed with nature and frequently embarking on multi-day treks, Stephen found his way back to himself. And it was there, where his next mission was birthed: thrive coaching – This movement combines coaching with adventure and Stephen now guides men through transformational adventure retreats where he guides them back to themselves fostering a deep sense clarity and connection Stephen and I connected just days just before this interview where we spoke deeply about our personal journeys. Welcome back, everybody, to yet another episode on the „Heart of Man“ - this is one that I am personally incredibly excited about as we're going into a deep dive into the intricate world of relationships. I am thrilled to introduce Sven Loss to the podcast, a dear friend and relationship coach who has made it his mission to help individuals move from unhealthy to healthy relationship dynamics. In our past conversations, Sven has humbly admitted to me that the reason he knows so much about relationships today is because he has failed at them for the majority of his life. The big turning point came when he came out of a very challenging relationship over 4 years ago that ultimately ended with infidelity. Heartbroken, and committed to never be in the same situation again, his circumstances propelled him on a journey of self-discovery and take ownership for the ways he's contributed to the dysfunction in his relationships. This led him to unpack the traumatic experiences of his past, bring awareness to the ways he's learned to cope and lean into the confronting journey of leading from his own authenticity. Today, Sven sheds light on common relationship patterns, helping individuals identify areas that are asking for healing while equipping individuals with the skills to create the inspired relationship culture they desire In many of my interactions with fellow men, I've observed that many of them are brought on the journey of developing themselves when they are met with their own limitations to relate romantically. And I feel deeply for them – because this is exactly how my own journey started over 8 years ago. In our conversation, Sven and I cover o a wide array of topics such as the importance of listening, the importance of fully being with our partners without attempting to fix them, why we as men need to have a capacity to be with our emotions, the obstacles many couple come up against and the essential relationship skills required to create a healthy relationship culture. And that is only a glimpse of the rich discussion ahead! In this conversation, Sven and I cover following topics: Sven's personal journey of being in an unhealthy relationship dynamic Why relationship is the best mirror to yourself The importance of listening What to do with triggers when they arise in relationship How to tend to unhealed past experiences, so they don't leak out in our relationships Some of the most common dynamics that arise for most individuals in relationship Learning to be with our partner's emotions without going into "solution-mode" The importance of making ourselves vulnerable in relationship The fundamental understandings of "Attachment Theory" - and how this influences our personal relationships Why we do not need to fix ourselves — Connect with Sven Website: https://www.svenloss.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sven_loss?igsh=MWVxMXhhejdzcHNxZA== Connect with Alex Website: https://alexlehmann.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexlehmann_?igsh=YzVkODRmOTdmMw== Interested in working with me 1:1? I am excited to share his work with all of you, as he's working in a field that is in my opinion both relevant and absolutely necessary. Jeremy is a porn addiction recovery coach, a meditation teacher and an expert on digital habits and he's made it his mission to serve men in overcoming porn addiction, so they can live with deeper purpose – and in the process reclaim their minds, learn to thrive in relationship, and live with deeper integrity. In his own personal journey, Jeremy had to confront his own addiction to pornography, and his inner battles with shame, self-judgement and depression Coming into contact with Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness, he found a modality that was able to support him through his challenges. And for years he ended up spending time living and training with ordained Buddhist monks in Myanmar. Along the process he's found his way back to himself with a greater sense of meaning, fulfillment and purpose. And with a background in genetics and genomics, he now combines a science-based approach with his deep passion for eastern philosophy and mindfulness, in order to support men in reclaiming sovereignty over their own minds, so they can experience inner peace. Within our conversation, Jeremy and I specifically focused on the topic of pornography. It's becoming increasingly evident how the consistent consumption of porn can impact lives, yet I still see the conversation surrounding it remains limited. Having faced my own challenges with this issue, and speaking to men on a regular basis around the topic of porn, I knew this was an essential conversation for us to have. With Jeremy's expertise in the field of neuroscience, I was interested to hear about the impact porn has on our lives and why it's so addictive. With his training in fields such as mindfulness and addiction recovery, we explored in depth, what pulls specifically many men towards porn but also how thow they may be able to break free from it. Edward's journey into the power of touch began with his own accumulation of injuries, where he was eventually guided to seek support through manual therapy. His profound healing experiences sparked a deep passion in him to to understand the potency of touch, leading him down a journey of studying the realms of physiotherapy, psychophysiology, somatic psychology, and neuroscience. I originally came into contact with Edward's work over 2 years ago when I went through a 400-hour breathwork facilitator training where his platform science of touch was offered as a resource for further education. I have since followed Edward's work closely, inspired by his ability to bridge manual body therapy with the realms of neuroscience, trauma healing and ancient wisdom teachings. When I heard that Edward was coming to Bali for a few months, I knew that we needed to come together in a conversation. In my own personal journey, learning to work with the body, coming into an understanding of the nervous system and how it consistently informs me throughout my day-to-day has truly been a life-changing gift that I never knew I needed. I have since developed a depth of connection with myself through my breath, movement and touch – a connection that I never knew was possible. Through this conversation, my dearest hope was to provide a glimpse into the doorway I I went through almost 5 years ago – a doorway that I know see as absolutely essential in our modern times. And through our dialogue I aim to shed light on why nurturing a relationship with breath, movement and touch are foundational pillars at this present time. With Edward's insights into ancient wisdom teachings coupled with his depth of knowledge in modern science, I knew that he was the right person to share about the intricacies of the nervous system and how we can embark on a journey of deeper connection to ourselves. I hope that you'll find this conversation just as captivating and insightful as I did. In this episode, Edward and I cover What is manual bodywork and why is it so valuable. Inspired by his own profound shifts, he decided to leave his old career behind and underwent training to become a coach, dedicated to helping others uncover their potential and find deeper connection with themselves. I personally met Jakob on a 7-day Men's Retreat in Bali alongside 24 other men at the beginning of 2023 and we've cultivated a strong friendship through our time together. In this conversation, we dive deeply into the realm of men's work – attempting to bring a deeper understanding of what it is and we share our personal experiences of being immersed in spaces where men come together to intentionally explore their edges. What followed, was a rich discussion sharing our own experiences of growing up as men and the expectations and experiences that that society imposes on so many of us. From there, we shed light to what was required so we could step into a deeper space of integration and wholeness within ourselves. As our conversation unfolds, we explore a path forward for men, offering insights into how as men can foster a deeper connection within ourselves. I hope you will enjoy this conversation as much as I did whilst recording it In this podcast, Jakob and I go into following topics: Jakob's personal experiences of being immersed in intentional spaces with other men and what sparked his curiosity into men's work The dynamics of polarity and the forces of masculine & feminine energetics that are independent of gender Jakob's journey of stepping into emotional sovereignty and moving beyond old notions of how men should navigate their emotions The importance of coming ino terms with our dislikes and learning to cultivate acceptance for what is Healing past wounds and building trust amongst men again - stepping out of a paradigm of competition & unupmanship to collaboration and camaraderie. The absence of male role models and Jakob's journey to reconcile his past hurts with his own father. He's also the co-founder of „Voices Unleashed“, a collective movement supporting art & self-expression in Bali. Born and raised in Italy, Andrea has always felt a sense of being different from the culture he was raised in. This feeling eventually led him down a journey of self-discovery, initially working remotely in various cities such as London, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong & Sydney as a designer. It was during this time that he had his first encounter with depression, which he attributes to living in misalignment with his true self and the past experiences he was never able to emotionally resolve. This pivotal time inspired him to explore various different modalities, ultimately discovering the transformative power of „Conscious Connected Breathing“. The breathwork journeys he undertook, eventually allowed him to clear the emotional backlog that had accumulated from his past and in one distinct session he had a vision of creating art through various mediums such as poetry, photography, digital illustrations and other artistic endeavors. This vision initiated him to fully down the path of the artist. In his own words, Andrea aims to create art that tells stories and provides experiences inviting people to explore emotions and understand the human condition through love, beauty and the unordinary. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of getting to know Andrea personally, and I have always been deeply inspired by his passion for art and creativity. In this episode, I had the great honor of welcoming Marc Laws II to the podcast. Marc is a renowned Yoga Teacher and former professional soccer player. Outside of that he's a devoted husband and father. From his early days in the United States, Marc's fascination for the game of Soccer took root, eventually leading him towards a career as a professional soccer player during his early twenties. Through this journey, he channeled his passion for the game to unlock the hidden potentials of his mind & body. Fueled by his curiosity for life, soccer became Marc's gateway to unraveling life's deeper lessons. Whether it was mastering discipline, navigating competition, or excelling in high-pressure situations, soccer offered him a platform for personal growth and self-discovery. Marc's explorations eventually continued beyond the boundaries of the soccer field, leading him into the fields of human behavior, psychology, and sports therapy. When he discovered yoga, it became clear that a new chapter of his life was wanting to emerge. In his own words, he says: „Yoga had it all. The philosophy, an approach to life, and the awareness of my mind and self.“ Since then, he's not looked back. Marc and I connected early on in my own journey in Bali after I attended one of his local yoga classes and he's become a dear friends since. As we came into this interview, Marc had just come out of an extended period with his father, who visited Bali to meet his grandson, Sage, for the very first time. And it was this unique coming together that provided an extraordinary point of focus for our conversation—an opportunity to delve into the dynamics of three generations: father, son, and grandson. Together, we explore the transition from boyhood to manhood, the role of fatherhood, and finding the path of forgiveness for the wounds we may inherit from our fathers. This conversation is filled with heartfelt stories and examples out of our own personal lives, creating a truly special episode that I am incredibly excited to share with all of you. In this episode, I had the privilege of diving into the fascinating World of one of the most inspiring humans I've met on my 2 and a year adventure in Bali: Carlos Tao Carlos is a yoga teacher, a philosopher, and a visionary in the fields of anatomy, functional movement and kinesthetic intelligence. He's also the founder of the fluidUs Academy – a movement that is dedicated towards offering methods and transformative practices to support others in returning back to the wonder of life. I was first introduced to Carlos when I attended one of his classes at a local Yoga Studio here in Bali. What I expected to be an ordinary yoga class turned into an extraordinary experience. Carlos beautifully integrated human development, myth and philosophy into his teachings, introducing all kinds of new movements and language. I came out of that class, feeling a deeper sense of connection to myself and as though I had tapped into a more expansive expression of who I am. This conversation with him was truly one of a kind. Whilst we go little into Carlos' own personal story, we dive into a vast exploration of our modern culture, its loss of meaning and connection and how we can reclaim it, so we can access a deeper state of connection. I've seen Carlos bring a deep commitment to his work, in order to help individuals connect back to that state of awe & wonder – rekindling the magic of life that they may have been once in touch with but lost over time. Having gone through various of his trainings, I have been consistently blown away by his ability to bridge myth, story, anatomy & functional movement. And what I've found is, that it is through this integration, that he empowers individuals to move past their own limited view of themselves, so they can tap into a deeper expression of who they are. In this fascination conversation, Carlos and I explore: The loss of meaning & connection in our culture and how we can reclaim it in our modern times The importance of myth and ritual and how both can be used as tools to guide us back into connection & meaning The four types of knowing and how we leverage them to inspire growth How we can step out of our limited perspectives to a more expansive frame for viewing ourselves and life The importance of relationship, community and learning to relate in a way that inspires interconnection Practices that allow us to become emotionally and physically resilient and help us tap into a zest for life The value of holding the tension between two opposing ideas and the wisdom we can find within the tension How we can use movement and our physical bodies to step into deeper levels of self-awareness and connection. — Follow Carlos on Instagram | @carlostaomovement Discover more about fluidUs Academy: https://www.fluidusacademy.com/ Follow Alex on Instagram | @alexlehmann_

How we breathe is how we think... And with these words I'd like to welcome our next guest on the Podast: Edward Dangerfield Edward is a nervous system specialist, teacher and the visionary founder of the Facilitated Breath Repatterning Technique (FBR) and Breathwork Bali. Edward's journey of transformation began after surviving a near-death experience, where he found himself caught in an avalanche. This event left him grappling with the aftermath of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) bringing him down a journey of seeking the tools and practices that can help him heal and regulate his nervous system. On his path of exploring various healing modalities, he was eventually introduced to the power of „Conscious Connected Breathwork“ and he never looked back. With a deep commitment of supporting others, he has since dedicated himself to helping individuals feel at home within their bodies by claiming the power of their own breath. My intention with this conversation, was to go beyond the realm of breathwork to discuss Edward's life and perspectives outside of his work. I was especially interested in going to depth on the topic of relationship with the intention to expand beyond the limited perspectives we may have been conditioned into. And one of the core messages that we seem to have constantly came back to was the importance of being in relationship to everything & having a balance between relating to ourselves and a wider community. Having personally undergone Edward's 400-hour Facilitator training and forming a deep friendship with him over the last years, I am incredibly excited to share this conversation with you. Edward's wisdom and insights have profoundly impacted my life, and I have no doubt that they will touch yours as well. In this episode, Edward and I explore: Ed's personal journey of surviving a near-death experience being trapped in an avalanche which initiated him on a journey of healing The value of break-down moments and how they can help us find a path of deeper alignment & authenticity.
