This episode is fantastic and goes into mental health issues, that many of us experience or will experience at some point. I loved talking with Mark, he’s such a great guy and a lovely soul. We talk about his best selling book and his own personal life experience. Mark gives a few good advice to fight back mental health, and his own perspective on the subject which he’s passionate about. It was a pleasure to have this conversation and I hope to catch up with Mark next year. I ask Mark the following: How did you end up with your current line of work, as an author, keynote speaker, and Coaching? How did you cope with your own mental health issues? What does The Mind Work out mean to you? How did you end up writing this book? How long did it take you to write it? What are the best tips for people suffering from mental issues? What is the if any one of the big catalysts for mental health in today’s world? Where can we find you? What do you do for fun? What do you do to relax? Any books you can recommend to me, that has changed your life? Mark recommends this book: Moneyball. https://www.amazon.com/Moneyball-Art-Winning-Unfair-Game/dp/0393324818 You can find Mark Freeman on Twitter: https://twitter.com/thepathtochange And on his website: https://www.markfreeman.ca/ Thank you for listening or reading, Didier Soulier Listen on Itunes Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dider-podcast/id1141054508 Listen on Google Play: https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR0cDovL2RpZGllcnNvdWxpZXJzdWNjZXNzZnVsc3Rvcmllcy5wb2RvbWF0aWMuY29tL3JzczIueG1s The Dider Show FACEBOOK Page: https://www.facebook.com/didershow/ Listen on Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/didershow/dider-show?refid=stpr Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DidierjcSoulier Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/didiersoulier/ Support this Podcast and my music. Hi there lovelies, This week we are going back in time in 2016, when I first started my podcast, called back then Successful entrepreneurs. I had the pleasure to interview Carl Williams, to get a better understanding of the beginning of both the Jazz and Folk festivals. How he and Gerv got started and how they got to where there are today, as one of the most famous festivals right in the center of the UK. The festivals have included the likes of Chaka Khan, Soul II Soul, George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic, De La Soul, Gregory Porter, Fun Lovin Criminals, Chic Feat. Nile Rogers and Public Enemy and many more… This episode is one of my first interview, I apologise for the quality and my style of the interviewer. I used to come to both festival and provide aerial views for Carl, and used to love it. It’s an amazing place to be if you are into live music. I do hope you enjoy it thought. If you are thinking of starting a music festival there is good advice from Carl to get you started. The link for the festivals below: https://mostlyjazz.co.uk/ https://www.moseleyfolk.co.uk/ Have a great weekend my friends and see you next week. Hello my lovelies, I’m writing about this article by Kevin Kelly (https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/) which I suggest you read if you are an artist, musician, podcast host, painter, blogger or anything else creative. Kevin explain a simple idea, you do not need to be famous, or have millions of fans to have a good life. If you can find 1000 true fans, by that Kevin means, people that love you so much that they will buy anything you are selling, then if you can produce a product (album, art piece, content, podcast…) for $100 every year, and that your true fans buy it from you, that is an income of $100000 a year, that is pretty good, since research shows that anything anything after between 70 000 to 100000 will not make any happier. If this is still too high for you, you could start by aiming at 500 true fans and produce something in the rage of $60 per year, that amount to $30000 per year. Let’s be honest, $30000 a year to do what you love is not bad at all right? It’s pretty awesome if no? This is of course not for everyone, you need to maintain a great relationship with your true fans, and be consistent as well, offer them more than to become an investor in whatever you are doing as opposed to your free blog for example you put out every week or month. You can use sit like Patreon, which allow you to give selected packages to your audience based on their wallet, or needs. For example, you could give your true fans special content only available to them, if you podcast you could send them first your next episode before anybody else, you could create a blog only for them... I think this is a great way to look at things. This brings me to my second point. I have set myself to be a millionaire for fare to long, thinking this was a good number, but would it make me happy, as I said early and this is backed by studies, it wouldn’t, of course, it's nice to have money, but with this new target of $30000 to $100000 per year, it’s more attainable, plus I think aiming too high can cause extreme stress and can set yourself for failure from the start. When you get to $100000 a year, then you can start raising the bar. I think I did that mistake of aiming too high over the past years, and I can see now how this causes me much stress and feeling of failure for myself if I did not got that number in my bank account. It’s clear to me now, but this is for me, I just like to mention how I feel about, this is maybe not for everyone, for me it was the wrong way of looking at things. So now I am on a quest to look for my true fans, and if you are one for them, please let me know because I need to support my art, my music and my podcast. Of course as mentioned above my true fans will get more than my normal followers, but I’m currently working on this so bare with me and let me know now by a simple comment, or email, so I can start grow my army of true fans and get personal with you. I have ideas of video Q&A, songs votes, by email subscription to stay in touch with you, and write special content just for you. If you do want to start now, please use the link below, and become a patreon with me, you can give whatever you wish right now, as I’m in process to create different package to suit people wallet. As of today, I reckon $5, $20 and $50/year package selections, but as I said it’s a working process. Become my Patreon and support my art: https://www.patreon.com/didiersoulier At the end of this podcast I’m putting a song I wrote, got a good singer of mine to sing it for me, so this is what you will be supporting if you decide to be a supporter of mine and help me create more songs, by helping me record new songs. Hello Lovelies, Sorry I have been away last week, I did what I do when I’m overwhelmed, I hide from the world and isolate myself. Not the best tactic I agree, but sometimes it helps me put things into perspective, plus there so much time you can spend feeling sorry for yourself, that after a while it becomes boring, and you have to get up and face the world. Yes I think this period of reflection do have there place in life, it does in mine anyway. The only way is up and your face is in the floor. Like a phoenix rising from the flame. Of course this practice is not recommended, but I have to admit I do this once in a while, I feel sorry for myself, think the whole wide world don’t understand me, that life sucks, and I kinda drink my pain away, till I pass out. As I write this I see this is my old self fighting back to get control again, but since I know better know, I don’t judge myself too much, because in small set back and I learn about myself, It’s not a failure, I’m working at it, I’m working on me, I’m creating a new me since I have been back from cage I built myself in UK. It’s funny to me now when I watch myself saying inside my head, you a failure, you see you may as well give up now. It’s quite laughable to observe. But in order to just observe, I had to work on it, with daily meditation, constant observation of my inner thoughts, and I’m starting to enjoy results. Of course I’m far save and still in the woods as they say, but the path is slowly been carved by my actions. It’s a multitude of factors, of course living in place like Vichy in France does help, where I can enjoy my family much more than from my 20 years in the UK, the weather certainly is great factor, since March this year it has been mainly sunny days and bleu sky. But it has also came from the books and podcasts I listen to daily, all of this ammo for me to use against anything life throws at me, which is always can bring the old me. What I need to embrace more when it comes is sadness or loneliness, and just be at peace with it, those feelings won’t kill me, I just find it is still hard to deal with it, and here my tool is my music, I write songs. Last few weeks I have been writing this song for an old girlfriend of mine, Maria. It’s quite funny since when I was with her (7years) she asked me once to write a song for her, it only took another 6 years to do it. Well anyway, it's for me redemption, I wish her the best of things to come (this last line is actually some of the lyrics). I just felt deeply sad at remind me of her and what I knobhead I was with her, that I start to play my guitar and the song kinda came. I actually share a tears the very first time I played it. Which is a shame, because that moment was beautiful but I the emotion within is gone now, I have played far to many times now and the first take was raw, I reckon this will comes back after a few months, when I have forgotten about it and it surprises me again. I just don’t think I will be intense. Anyway, I am proud of the song very much, and this is therapy for me, letting it out, writing down something that is upsetting me right now, and be at peace with it. And I’m going to sing it for you right now. But first a last word about my anxiety and the episode I had last week. I think it’s ok to have set backs and times, we should not see them as failures, and this is shoud esxuses for us to say, oh well fuck it, I’m just never going to break through, I may as well just go back to what I know, gamble online, go watch online pornography, got eat something to feel good, drink exesiviley, or something else that doesn’t emporing us to take control fo our life but react and act to elliminate a particular feeling of state of mind at a given time. I say this, watch what your brain is feeding you, because most of the time it may not serve you at all, just an old patterns that is been programed so well you don’t even think, you are on autopilot. Ask yourself, does this behavior is beneficial to me right now? One important thing, is only you can do, nobody can do anything for you, I spend a good portion of my life blaming everything and everybody but myself, or was after a quick fix, a cure for my disease. Guess what is it a fantasy, it takes time, hard work and dedication to obtain anything is life. There is no escalator to success, only stairs, but with little steps, anything is possible. Let me know what you think, or in case you don’t understand my voice, I thought it would be prudent to write the lyrics down for you. “I wish you all the good things, the best of times to come That life be generous in giving, all the things you want Even if I could go back to those days, under a brighter sun, I know I don’t deserve it, cause of all the things I’ve done All the while you gave me, more than anyone, With this song I’m sorry, I wasn’t the one Even if I could go back to those days, under a brighter sun, I know I don’t deserve it, cause of all the things I’ve done In an old church they listening, to your wedding vows, Happy faces standing clapping, you walking down the aile Even if I could go back to those days, under a brighter sun, I know I don’t deserve it, cause of all the things I’ve done” Thank you for listening or reading, Didier Soulier Listen on Itunes Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dider-podcast/id1141054508 Listen on Google Play: https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR0cDovL2RpZGllcnNvdWxpZXJzdWNjZXNzZnVsc3Rvcmllcy5wb2RvbWF0aWMuY29tL3JzczIueG1s The Dider Show FACEBOOK Page: https://www.facebook.com/didershow/ Listen on Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/didershow/dider-show?refid=stpr Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DidierjcSoulier Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/didiersoulier/ Support this Podcast and my music. Hello my dear listeners, This mini episode is dedicated to Kevin Hart autobiography. I loved this book so much I try to read it once a year, as I find it inspiring and full of great life lessons. Plus Kevin audiobook is hilarious, the guy is very funny, don’t just take my word for it just read it and I promise you will love it too. The one thing I really enjoy and try to follow as philosophy is what he calls, shoulder shrug. By that is that whatever bad things are there no point feel sorry for yourself ,which is by the way the ego talking, not the real you. You just take it and move forward, if your dream is big enough, you will find a way. Kevin says that if you are committed to better yourself, then little step back are not the end of you, life is a big test and you should see those moments as such. I got the most respect for the guy, going through his comedy material in his early days in ostile clubs, been ackle, get a chicken wings thrown at his face while introducing others act on stage, getting rejected for his multiple on his tv shows, been broke and still believing in himself, even when he was getting somewhere with his act. Kevin tells that success is been a lovable guy, not been the best at what he did, but been himself count first which he had to learn. Kevin owns his success to the team and community he built around him, the networking, the hours spent giving out flyers, time spent getting to know his audience after the shows, taking pictures and simply taking with his fans. If you are a comedian, this book is for you, be prepared for the hard work, Kevin says it was 16 years in the making, to be where he is today. Other than the fantastic live lessons and anecdotes within this book, I love Kevin for his dedication to his work, his honesty and the way he sees life. Kevin Hart, to me an inspiration and I’m grateful I have been lucky enough to come across this book. https://www.amazon.com/Cant-Make-This-Up-Lessons-ebook/dp/B01MYWFGRM Thank you Kevin, thank you This is it people, have a great weekend and I see you next week. Hello my lovelies Break through having bad start of your day 1- Move your body (exercise, run, walk, cycle…) Anything you enjoy doing, just get out and do it, within minutes you will start to feel better, it works, trust me, try it and see 2- Read your favorite book, play your favorite music, play your favorite game or instrument for 20 minute or so. This is a great way to lose yourself in another thing that is not your own head. My head is like a bad neighbourhood, I don’t like to go there alone :-) 3- Remember a happy memory, smile, watch a funny video (fail videos always works for me) Another great way to switch your mindset, your brain cannot have opposite feelings at the same time. You can’t cry and be happy at the same time, you can’t feel sorry for yourself when you are happy and smiling. The main thing is quite simple, do something else than think about how crap you feel right now, and you will see that bad mood will go away. What can be a bad start of the day? The more you body is moving, the better, in order to change a state of mind, moving is key really, the other 2 works too, but if you are struggling, reassure that the first option will never let you down and work everytime. Breakthrough this week, I have found what my mentor suggested I start doing, and here it is. I’m about to start my own Life Coach business, ….. Thank you to the universe unlimited powers for letting me know about this certitude this morning while chatting with one of my best UK friends. I makes total sense, I know I’m capable of helping individuals with pretty much anything they will ask me help for, well I have still things to learn, of course. I’m just so happy to let you guys know about this new venture, I’m actually super excited. More on this soon. Now I have just come across the chanel in france purely dedicated to bloody petanque. This is a france game you play on sand or small gravel before the Apero (french fancy word for drinking alchool). Honestly what will they come up with next, swings competition? It’s to me as amusing a darts, (Great Britain contribution to boredom heaven) Sorry my UK friends, I think darts should be left for Pubs environment, I don’t get it, what next a fruit machine competition? By that I mean the casino like machine you get in pubs, where most drunks lose most their doll money (that is the universal credits now I think, what a posh name for it.) I’m sorry if I offended anyone, this is my option, and since this is my show I can do what I like. :-) I’m full of it ain’t I? Anyway this is it for today. I love you and thank you supporting me, I’m proud to say the Dider Show as been on the top 10 for a whole month, how cool? Love ya. Bonjour my friends, Mini series about one of the best selling book of all time, the Alchemist. I do not want to spoil the fun so I will be brief in describing this book to you to inspire you to read it. The story is a spanish boy called Santiago, a shepherd who get this dream about a tresor by the pyramid of Egypt, and go to find his personal legend. This book is full of great moral and spiritual aspect of life, I can only say it’s a must read and you will take on what will speak to you. Santiago embarks on his journey through north africa and meet friends and thief along the way. I love that at some point the book reveals that when you are doing good with your life it affect others around you and in terms of the rest of the world. This is a short novel but is really a joy to read, it’s relevant for today's world and our envie to listen to life opportunities, unless we discard it and at some point the signs stop coming to us and we accept who and where we are. I honestly recommend this great book and you won’t be disappointed after you finish it. I don’t want to tell you too much about because it would spoil the fun, so this is a short review. Please get the book and let me know what you think of it. On another note, I have now a business / life coach Lena Kay, and I will be asking you guys to help me out on a new project that I’m currently working on, I can’t wait. Or another thing, I’m reading another book by Dr. Joe Dispenza called Breaking the habit of being yourself, and I’m going to test out some of the great idea within the book, so watch out as this is going to be awesome but more on this on next episode. As always, I love you, thank you so much for listening and I see you soon. Thank you for listening or reading, and please subscribe to your favorite platform or why not leave a rating on Itunes, please, that would help me with the show ratings, I would deeply appreciated. This is part two from Mel Robbins book the 5 second rules. I‘d like to talk about discipline here, which is what the 5 second rule is I reckon, is the commitment to actually do the things you know you should be doing, and do them on a regular basic. It’s to start moving, doing whatever that is for you. Yesterday I did not feel like waiting for my mastermind group video session, but I forced myself out of the flat, wen for a ride on my bike and listen to my book which is this week the Alchemist. Such a great book, I’m doing a review on that one, it’s full of empowering metaphors about life and getting where you want to go in life. After 20 minutes riding my bike I was pumped up and my mind swing from not wanted to do anything to attend the mastermind online seminar. Is it maybe I have ADHD and so I need to be constantly moving to do my best thinking, maybe, but in getting myself out of negative mind set, I changed and wanted to improve my life, and right there and then, I realised I have to physically move if I want to switch from a negative mindset to a positive mind set with an optimistic outlook on my life. I already know this, and you do, we are all capable of doing amazing things with our life, this is not to say oh look at me, how great of better I am than most people. No it’s not that we are somewhat better, or clever, or more driven, I believe we all are so much to give to this world, and it’s start from believing in ourselves, if we love ourselves and make the changes needed inside our own self talk our how we see ourselves, we can move mountains, and be whatever we wish to be. I think we all sell ourselves short, because of the stories we tell ourselves, and In believing in yourself is not to say we better than anyone, we just claim what it is our to take in the first place, from birth right. Someone said this before, we are born to win, but program to fail. It’s not been arrogant to wanting to do more of what we are currently doing with our life, when we know deep down we can. It all depends on how much you are prepared to give, to do, to work towards a goal. Old people do not regret the things in life they have done, only everything else they did not do or try. Who do you want to be, what kind of person are you? Will you claim your rights for a better, more fulfilled life or will you just give up, finding all the excuses to keep you where you are and not live your life to the full? This is it, life is happening, there is no rehearsal, it’s happening right now, try something, even if you fail you will learn something. Not knowing what could have been has got to be worse than not trying in the first place, no? Bonjour me lovelies, How are you doing on the great October 2019 month? Mini Episode today, on one amazing book by Mel Robbins: The 5 second rules. Mel explained why this rules will change your life. I totally get it, Mel explained how the your brain is constantly working against you, when you want to make changes in your life, and become the person you know you what and are capable of being, but your brain wil get in the way because it does not want you to fall short, to fail, to be disappointed in trying something new, and keep you in a safe position. Mel explained something I call the monkey on your shoulder, the fact that we doing things in ife not because of logic, but how we feel about it, and this can be a problem. You will not feel like exercising, most days, you will not want to start on this new project of yours, you will not feel like waking up early and so on. The trick is to stop thinking, and doing. Mel use a 5 second rules, count backwards from 5 to 0, and move, do, start. If you leave enough time, your brain will find excuses as to why you should not do something or act. I love Mel Robbins rule and I’m going to use it now, I have been using something similar, but more brutal. When I know I need to wake up, get going, do my exercise, meditated or start writing or working on a project, I would hear myself saying, oh not today, I don’t feel like, can we do it another day? I simply say, fuck off and get over it, now get going, and I feel awesome within minutes. This works most days, but I gotta be honest old habits creep back so this now tool the 5 second rules is going to be a very good allie. The other thing I love about this book, is that I learned something I kind of knew without knowing, is that there is a good form of procrastination. Yep that’s right, sometimes you brain needs a little break from a project, to get more perspective. I told you before you subconscious is the boss here and if you leave it a little time, it will bring some answers to your prays and frustrations. No don’t get me wrong, this does not mean you can just relax and let your subconscious do all the work, and hope that magically everything will come to you, you lazy git. No you know deep down when you are opting towards distraction rather than do the work you know you have to do. Or by the way, I said it before but for crying out loud, Mel also tells you to get rid of distractions, like pops when you get an email, facebook, messages. Take it all off, this is stopping you doing what you should be doing, set a time in the day to check your emails, your facebook or instagram profiles. Please do it, try it. You will be amaze first how much more you get down, but also how much more relaxed you feel. Just get the book, it’s another life changing book, I know I use that term for pretty much every book I review here, but there are in their own rights. Read or listen to them and you will see, and leave me a comment on the social, of course when you have time managed that, so not right now when you decide to do so, not when you phone beeps. Check Mel Robbins book below: https://www.amazon.com/Second-Rule-Transform-Confidence-Everyday/dp/1682612384 Now on another lighter note, have you seen the Boys on amazon, boy oh boy. I love this Tv series, it was suggested by Matt Huntley last week, if you been listening that is.. And another great pal of mine in Birmingham UK. It’s so good, the plot is super heroes turn dark. You have this super man kind of guys, who is leading the team of 7 superheroes that do good for the planet but get it totally wrong at times and a big corporation clean up the mess and silence pretty much anyone who stands in their way. It’s really, really good and you won’t regret it, for those of you that enjoyed many moons back the series heroes with the crazy guy mad about clocks and taking powers from the brain of superheroes you in for a treat. First I would like to thank Matt, for his wonderful short movie that is Lobster. I really enjoy his work on my way to Birmingham as I got into the wrong train and discover the onboard entertainment platform. One option was full of shorts movies, and I devoured them all, well most of them during the 1hour and a half journey. I love the narrative, the cinematography, the grading, and paste. Really great work and I hope to see more of his creativity soon. Matt studied graphic design and photography, worked as Assistant Director on This is England, you have worked on commercial projects for Barclays, Vodafone, Budweiser, Fiat and Samsung and many more. Matt also directed ‘Trimming the Fat’ starring Matthew Horne (Gavin & Stacey) for BBC Films, wrote and directed ‘Straw Donkey’ starring Joe Thomas (The Inbetweeners). This episode with Matt Huntley was inspiring to me, and if you into filming or thinking of directing your very own short movie one day, then this episode may bring you some lights or advice. I really enjoyed the conversation, Matt is a lovely bloke and a very nice person with such a calm and soothing voice, I hope to buy him a pint soon and chat further. I hope you will enjoy it too. I ask Matt. How many awards and reviews did Lobster get in the end? I count about 15. When did you decide, or when you knew you wanted to be a director? Was this your first choice for your life? How did it take you till you could live from what you love doing? Did you have a part-time job at the start? The idea for the movie is down to your personal crushes you had when I kid on summer camp holiday, where was that, in the UK? So when did you decide to do lobster? What the script wrote itself from memories, how many drafts did you do till the final draft was ready for filming? Matt Lobster is running just over 5 minutes, how much filming does this actually represent in days or weeks? Was it fun? stress-free or a nightmare to put together? What is your favorite work? Any new future you’re excited about right now? What would say to inspire young directors out there in terms of advice of getting their career off the ground? Do you have any morning routine? What do you do to relax? Do you meditate? Any books you recommend? Any movies, documentary, or series you recommend? Bonjour, what makes us happy, or what we think will make us happy? What does happiness means to us? How much money do you think you need to consider yourself happy? What type of car, what type of life, what type of holiday will give you this everlasting experience of being happy? It looks to me human, down to genetics and evolution are not program to be happy, we need to know where that big lion is so we can avoid it, we need to know where loud noise comes from to be sure we can be ready if something comes as an outside threat. Does success will bring us happiness, but then what success mean to you? A Big house, dream job, dream wife and beautiful kids, sportscar, private plane, is it fame? What if, all these things, which most are materials things when attained robes us from our lives and demand constant energy into the future and our goals to the detriment of living and experiencing the present moment? And Darren talk about positivity and positive thinking, in the mention the big scam that is the Secret book, which I too sadly, felt for a few years ago, thinking that by just thinking of a desire thing I wanted in my life, acting as if I already had it would be sufficient in the attainment of such desire good or lifestyle? As I read How to Think Like a Roman Emperor: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius by Donald Robertson, one thing reaffirmed my now changed belief that death is ok and not as scary as I thought. Death is part of life and is to me only a new beginning to another universe. We should practice losing the things we hold dear to us, to remind ourselves how grateful we are. We should be grateful for things we already have not and not stress over things we desire. Darren talks about phones, how much they have saved us when lost trying to find a location with a map app to get to someone’s wedding, and not be frustrated for the lack of battery because we forgot to plug it in. Darren mentioned something I read somewhere else. The first light build could actually last a very long time, and the manufacture got scared that people would not come back to buy more, so they made it last less. What I enjoy in the book is the honest truth that Darren shares and I think anyone will take something from it, even a little happiness too. What I would like to offer in guidelines in a bullet point from Darren’s book and my own experience (even a limited one so far) Don’t get upset on what is not within your control, Control your state of mind, the only thing human has full control of, Turn any negative into a positive with every situation, see the silver lining, Train yourself to the loss on what you hold dear so you can be grateful for it, You’ll never regret falling in love. Do so over and over again. Don’t think to get somewhere in life or buy something you desire will bring you fulfillment or happiness, Be grateful for what you have now, Plan for success. Prepare for failure. Become an active member of your society, join a community group, Find what you love doing and do it daily, If you experience an unhappy feeling, know that they will pass, do something like exercise, reading a book, going for a walk, meditate, watch a funny movie, play music, listening to your favorite track… Lasting sexual satisfaction is very hard to attain, trying to shag everything with a heartbeat, compulsive porn watching, or obsessive gambling is not the answer. Think before buying or engaging in an activity, is this going to fulfill my desires, or only temporary? When people insure you, try to understand what good or harm they thought would come of it? Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake or fail, you will learn something, Death is only part of life and is totally normal part of life, When you start your day, be prepared you may accounter plain idiots, rude and angry people, it’s ok don’t let it change the way you are feeling or acting today. To remain tranquil and comfortable would deny you your growth. To remain happy would stop you from flourishing. It’s all going to work out just fine, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Happy-More-Less-Everything-Absolutely/dp/0593076192 Please comment on facebook post below about what you makes you happy? Does your morning routine looks sound like this: Waking up, Hit the snooze button faster than the speed of light, get back to sleep for another 5 minutes which turns into 20 minutes, realise I’m going to be late, rush to the bathroom and your flat mate or family member is already been there since yesterday, get dressed, rush out the door forgetting you packed lunch, if you even managed to get it down after your suppose I only got to the pub for one drink, unfortunately turned out to be 4 and a few shots, realise that everyone on your way to work is making your life hell by moving you further away from your naive thought that you could still make it on time to work even if this would only be possible if you were the owner of a rocket ship and turn a 40 minutes car journey into mere minutes...? Or does it look like this: Wake up, grab your phone, check facebook or instagram, look for interesting stories to share on my profile, maybe comment right beneath some nasty comment from someone you don’t even know but you are committed show him and the world your wisdom and what you say matters or should and you everyone must like your post? Do you refresh your emails to check if somehow your phone left out an important spam email? Do you find yourself judging the runners on your way to work, telling yourself, well look at this idiots running around like a lab-rat...running is bad for your knees, I will only start running if I’m been chased by zombies in a apocatilic world. Well I have done all the above at some point in my life, and I wasn’t in a great place. Who has experienced those internal voices forever judging every single action you take on a regular basis, those arguments you finally won from 2 to 2 weeks after the actual conversation took place, or the great prepared speech you had prepared to find that on the spot you either forgot most of it but that the other party said something you miss out and like a house of cards you plan which you thought was brilliant has just come down crashing. Mental health is coming out of the closet, it touches everyone at some point of another, it’s totally ok we should not judge each other, this world needs more love and compassion. This book is a great read about mental health, I can totally empathise with Mark story on many accounts, and his book come on my lap although virtually when I needed a book like this to help me understand my head a little better and the behaviors I was undertaking to try to block out bad, sad uncomfortable feeling, and tried for a long period of my life to become a stone and so I would not feel anything. Emotional management again, is something I struggle with for years and this book answered and gave me awesome insights into my journey towards true happiness. I hope you find within this book some of the answers you are looking for, I think you will find some, and as most of us, we can only carry on for our journey to enlightenment, wisdom, happiness and success is a never ending one. Hello, Hello it’s time for another Dider Show - I love this jingle, what do you think? I’m sorry I had a few shitty days, I have been a tiny bit down the past 2 days, for no good reason really. My podcast just made the top 5, and is currently ranked at 11 from thousands of podcast. I should be proud and not depressed. What I can I say? I know how to pick a friend if they are down, as most humans, we are awesome at helping others, but sometimes we can not help ourselves. What do you do to get yourself out of a shitty mood? Exercise, music, talking, taking a ride in your car? Bonjoy my lovelies, This week, I have a little treat, if you have small children you should definitely read them this awesome book; Fantastic Mr Fox, which tells the tale of a small fox family been hunted down by farmers. The story is only short, but it’s well written and had me from start to finish. I love the easy read and the audio book narrated by and Irish Actor and comedian Chris O’Dowd is fabulous, I loved the irish accent, who doesn’t? I will not spell the story for you, just get a copy and enjoy. https://www.amazon.fr/Fantastic-Mr-Fox-Roald-Dahl/dp/0142410349 When I was in London last month, I had the pleasure to come across those short fearure films and I have contacted the director which will be on the podcast soon to talk about it, I’m so excited. First Lobsters by Matt Huntley, is the story of a lonely man in a caravan park that just found his soulmate, his neighbour Tanya. He drifts off into a fantasy about their future together. Everything would be perfect...if it wasn't the happy ending Dave was hoping for. I loved it, it’s well film and you are in love with Dave from the start, even when you realised he’s starting to lose his shit. Watch it and let me know what you thought: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7958016/ The second short movie is Lazy Boy by Dave Redmand, the story of a man who buy a chair who turn out to be a time machine. It’s just brilliant, again well thought out and the director will be coming on the show to chat about it very soon, and I’m very excited about it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5021630/ Thank you for reading or listing Didier SOULIER Listen on Itunes Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dider-podcast/id1141054508 Listen on Google Play: https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR0cDovL2RpZGllcnNvdWxpZXJzdWNjZXNzZnVsc3Rvcmllcy5wb2RvbWF0aWMuY29tL3JzczIueG1s Listen on Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/didershow/dider-show?refid=stpr Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DidierjcSoulier Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/didiersoulier/ The Dider Show FACEBOOK Page: https://www.facebook.com/didershow/ Support this Podcast and my music. I ask Frances the following: What does Mindfulness actually means? How did you end up taking this line of work? What was your tipping point for your to make necessary changes in your life? I love meditation, do you or did you use an app like headspace? How long did it take you to write your book: We are not your thoughts? How did you manage to get a publisher for it? Bonjour my lovelies, Do you feel depressed on a regular basis, or just get that monday blue, especially in winter times? I’m prone to be more depressed in winter times, I do not feel like myself in the dark winter months, and it got worse the older I got. And of course I’m like anyone, I get a bit low from time to time, I just manage it better now than I used to. Anyway, last week I was a bit low, and I thought I would call a friend to lighten my mood a little. So there I am, dialing my mate phone: Hello, how are you doing you old fart? ( Yes I do say that to some of my friends, actually I love it when my friends insult me, I love tough love.) Anyway, the reply was, Nah mate, I’m having a shit time right now, so I inquired into the matter further and asked him what was up. After listening for about 20 minutes about his latest relationship problems, with my following advice on the matter, which he totally discarded (I found out later that month) I decided, hell shit I’m just going to ring another friends so me to I can vent my lows even if trivial (they did appears to look that way now) My second friend, which I video called instead preceded by crying and telling how low she felt and how life was all fucked, how much she messed up the night before and how her past boyfriend was a dick. So I went to work, and listen, gave the best advice I could give, told her that she felt rubbish most likely because of the chemical unbalanced in her bloodstream because of hey heavy alcohol consumption of last night session, that is wasn’t real, that like me when one aspect of our life is not doing too good, we all tent to dramatise and think everything is either fucked or lost, or both, when actually it is not as bad as we say it is, I guess we all do this to get some attention from time to time, like if all we are looking for is someone to give us a big hug and tell us it’s going to be alright. Well, after those two phone conversations, I totally forgot how down I previously felt, helping others just override my own very trivial life issues, I even laugh about it, but the cure was right there staring at my bald head of a face. When you feel low, a little bit depressed, try to phone a friend who you may suspect is having a tough time, hell phone an old friend you haven’t heard for a long time, I guess when you help others you forget about your own issues, because most of the time, in hence sight, there are no big deal. In fact problems, is the only way we can grow, so I try to welcome them now, and rather then find something to hide behind or use alcohol or drugs like before, to lower the pain down, I try to own it first, let it pass through me, because I know I’m far stronger than this feeling, how ever tense, difficult or sad. The feeling will pass just as it came. I love you, you can do this, and thank you for listening, or reading. Hello my lovelies, This week I got two treats for you, first is the book Man's Search for Meaning from psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir who describe the of what life was in Nazi death camps and its lessons for spiritual survival. Based on his own experience and the stories of his patients, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose. Man's Search for Meaning has become one of the most influential books in America; it continues to inspire us all to find significance in the very act of living. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Mans-Search-Meaning-Viktor-Frankl/product-reviews/080701429X The second treat is this documentary that made me cry for the human spirit through out, just an amazing experience, and an awesome happy ending. This Oscar-nominated documentary by Lucy Walker is about the Brazilian artist and photographer Vik Muniz and his work with the "pickers", or catadores, who eke out an existence scavenging scraps from Rio's colossal city garbage dump. The title avowedly refers to TS Eliot's poem, but what Walker thinks she's showing us in her handful of dust is not fear, but life-affirming hope. Some might find the movie's take-home optimism naive and Muniz's attitude itself open to question. But this is undoubtedly a bold raid into an unknown territory – both geographic and conceptual – that the prosperous classes prefer not to think about. (This is a review from the Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw which I copy and paste because it explain far better than I ever could) and here is the link: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2011/feb/24/waste-land-review Documentary link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1268204/?ref_=tt_urv Thank you for listening or reading. Bonjour my lovely listeners, This week, I would like to share with you my discontent with social pressure that you should be and possess such and such by the age of 30 or so. I’m 39, I do not own a house yet, I do not have a family of my own, I do not have what most people would call a normal job, and I do not care about any of it. I’m currently thinking of vagabonding for a full year, and I can’t not wait. Of course I will be keeping up my podcast while traveling, which I think is going to be an amazing experience. I do not feel like I wasted my life, on the contrary, I feel I have gained an amazing, life changing personal experience by moving to the UK at the age of 19 years old, doing the music band things, work in so many restaurants and bars, I have been a dessert maker, sandwich maker, a pot wash, postman, landscape gardener, a carpenter, laundry worker in hospital, hotel night watcher, and I keep adding to the list still today, because I love to try new things. Today if you listen to what society demands of us, it’s far to say I am considered a failure and should get a grip, get real, get a real job (whatever that is) and settle down to make a baby with someone I will sure enough consider a total stranger 5 years down the line, and be content and feel lucky, because compared to other people I got loads of great things going for myself…? F*** That, I am living my life the way I see fit, I am living my life on my own terms, I am on top form and I feel I am just getting started in my new found life. As you know, I quit smoking last month, now I quit alcohol, I don’t smoke joint anymore, I stopped taking cocaine, I am not wanking as much as I was, and I mean far less, it’s getting well under control, I ‘m actually now been an addict to sports, as I exercise furiously every single day, and I feel unbelievably great , like the best I ever felt in my life. We have one life, one journey, to find, to discover ourselves, understand who were really are, what is our purpose, our gift to the world, you all have a part to play, we all are special in our own unique way, yet at the same time we are a tiny dot of atoms arranged in a particular order. In our journey we may suffer, but we will also experience great joy, love even, and only for that, even if ephemeral, as It may not last, would you swap a few months of that special relationship with that person for anything, after all love can move a mountain, can bring the best in some, and it can bring to disappear when one loses it, but then do we really value something only we it is taken from us? I believe in the people we meet along the way in life, we keep something from them, and in turn you give something for them to keep, and we also learn something about ourselves, therefore failure when something has been learnt is never a failure, but necessary for us to grow further as a human being, Go out my friend, try new things, fall in love, let yourself go and be free of any limitation you once gave to yourself, you are beautiful and the world awaits you, right now. I love you and you are enough, now go experience your life in all its forms, do what you always wanted to do, just ask of life what you really want. Starting from this provocative idea, Sapiens goes on to retell the history of our species from a completely fresh perspective. It explains that money is the most pluralistic system of mutual trust ever devised; that capitalism is the most successful religion ever invented; that the treatment of animals in modern agriculture is probably the worst crime in history; and that even though we are far more powerful than our ancient ancestors, we aren’t much happier. By combining profound insights with a remarkably vivid language, Sapiens acquired cult status among diverse audiences, captivating teenagers as well as university professors, animal rights activists alongside government ministers. By 2018, over 10 million copies have been sold, and the book has been translated into nearly 50 languages. "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!": Adventures of a Curious Character is an edited collection of reminiscences by the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman. The book, released in 1985, covers a variety of instances in Feynman's life. Mr Feynman is a funny guy, you will love this book, well I did anyway. I have mentioned this before to you my lovely listeners, I wanted to quit drinking because I could not just do a little, I had to get really drunk every time I had a drink. I’m not here to judge people that can enjoy drinking moderately, I will I could do the same, have one glass of wine without the need to finish the bottle, but I can’t, I can’t lie to myself anymore, I can not do just a little drink. I been drunk and passing out every night for about 4 months, and last week was the tipping point for me. I was told but the bar staff I was going to every single night, that I was chatting up every single woman that came up to the bar, and one girl told me to literally f*** off, and the worst thing is; I don’t remember any of it, like most nights, I don’t remember how I get home, and most of the night. After listening to tells of what I did under the influence of drinking, something switch in my brain and I thought, ok enough is enough, I need to stop. Now as I recently stopped smoking, I knew will power will not be sufficient. I went to my Audible app and typed alcohol. Graig Beck - How Alcohol lie to me: https://www.amazon.com/Alcohol-Lied-Me-Stop-Drinking-ebook/dp/B009JY59LI One of the first book that got my attention was Alcohol lied to me by Graig Beck. As I already read book by Graig, I could trust him and bought the book. Within a couple of chapters I was cured, I knew I was done with alcohol, and I would not be going back to it, period. This may sound over simplicatique, but trust me as when I stopped smoking, it’s my own internal dialogue that had to change, and then the rest would follow. I can honestly say I am a changed man, maybe I was ready for change, but that book help me understand what alcohol was doing to me, and I could not find any benefits anymore, just like smoking a cigarette when I analyse both good and bad, and the logic is undeniable. Both have been hurting me, both physically and psychologically. They both had to go, simple. I have committed myself to train for Ironman 2020 in Vichy, and therefore now I’m going to get addicted to sports instead. Thank you for listening or reading. I’ve heard about Stoic philosophy from Tim Ferris and Darren Brown, but never actually looked into it until this week, where I just finished reading How to be like a Roman Emperor from Marcus Aurelius written by Donald Robertson. Oh boy, I can not wait to read it again. It’s full of great life advice, that speaks so true still in today’s world. The fast that Marcus and other poeple of their time like Socrates, already worked it all out for us, and I’m asshamed to say at only 39 years of age, I finally understand what they were sharing with the world. You would think what they wrote would not apply to us in the 21st century, well I couldn’t be more wrong. Everythins they talked about, debated and wrote about is as true today as the sun rising every morning. I invite you, no I implore you that if you are going to read one book this year, then you should read this book. Well of course make time for Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill too. A point on meditation: Meditation experts often give the following advice: if you’re “too busy” to meditate for ten minutes a day, you should meditate for an hour a day. “The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts” Marcus Aurelius “Death is the release of all pain, a boundary where our suffering can not go, It return us to that state of peacefulness, in which we lay where we were even born.” Marcus Aurelius “Some many man lives are tragic partly due to their own making.” Marcus Aurelius Some awesome point to take away from the book: You have control of your own thoughts (observe your thoughts) It’s not what happens to you it’s how you react to it (pause and think before responding) Strive in adversity (so when life’s hits you are already prepared) Meditate twice a day (watch yourself daily) Anger only hurts you (responding with calm to angry person is wise, not weak) Think of long term impact (do watching 3 hours of TV daily if bringing closer to your goals?) Accept death is part of life: “Death is the release of all pain, a boundary where our suffering can not go. It returns us to that state of peacefulness, in which we lay where we were even born.” Marcus Aurelius Book link: https://www.amazon.com/How-Think-Like-Roman-Emperor/dp/1250196620 Thank you for listening or reading. This is the second mini episode and I would like to invite you to read or listen to Ernest Cline pop culture classic “ready player one” and immerse yourself into the OASIS world. I’m afraid the Spielberg’s adaptation did not do it justice to me, the book is far better on so many levels, if only for not having Short Circuit and the Monty Pytons, I guess It was too hard to get all the licensing rights for the movie. I have gone mad and I need your help, please… Since I’m back in France I have taken some unusual ways to better myself or find myself if you prefer. This included seeing two women, one in energy balancing kind of things, and the second in similar stuff. The first one, Caroline, Hi be the way if you listening) but her hands-on part of my body, not the part you thinking about you pervert, no no, only on my head, and feet. Now if I told this to myself a few years back, I would have kicked the shit out of myself with a massive dildo, but this year I was open to new things, and I thought, what’s the worst that can happen right? Well, well, I felt good, I reckon this help me regarding quitting smoking cigarette, yeah I have just quit, I and I did not need to go on a vape, or any other help. Anyway, something happened to me while she was working on my, My hands becoming hot like pins and middle kind of things, really strongly. I did not understand then, Caroline told me then, your body is trying to tell you something, maybe you too could heal people. which I reply get out of here, me a healer? I started to think, what the fuck I’m doing here in the first place. Anyway, I really felt a massive change, it’s very difficult to explain in words what happened in those 3 sessions, I know that the first one was quite an experience, I ‘m the kind of guy that needs to see to believe, and I can not deny what happened. Anyway, she mentions this book by Eric Peal, and I started to read it. Now, this is getting mad. I invite you to listen to the podcast to find out how I managed to restart 2 out of 3 supposed dead watch, and I think I’m responsible to help my best friend Andy from his MS medical condition, which he mentioned to me as a miracle declared by his doctors. Now I do not think I ‘m a healer despite a few things lately that would suggest I am, besides I don’t really want to. Anyway, I want to do an experiment to put this to rest. It’s quite simple, if you have a friend who has MS, or has any kind of muscular pain, I would need his photo and his first name, which you can send to my email: didier@thedronefilmcompany.com And within a few weeks, if I am a healer that person would experience what we all call a miracle, or a massive improvement in their condition. If nothing happens, then you can call me a knobhead, and I can move on the matter. Would you help me? Yours Didier SOULIER Thank you for reading or listening. Episode 17. Stopping smoking with one book - Mistakes were made (but not by me) by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson. I been smoking for the best part of my adult life, since I was 13 years old, and I started to want to stop for some time but did not know, when and how it would even possible. Well one book just helped me quitte the habit without a day. I’m shocked as how easy it is actually, I always thought it would be one of the hardest addictions to give up, but actually after reading the book Mistakes were made (but not by me) by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson, it was very easy. I realised I have been lying to myself during all theses years about why I was smoking and why it was okay for me to keep smoking even though I knew it was not good for me. I strongly advise anyone who wants to stop smoking to read that book, and I will become apparent and your will give up smoking upon finishing the first few chapters, Yep, I did not actually finished the book yet, but the work is done, I do not want to even smoke a cigarette and I know why, well I may smoke on a joint at party if I feel like it at the time, but I will not smoke and kill myself anymore. You see smoking became something that does not fit my new healthy lifestyle, and I could not justify the habit any longer. Just share this episode or the book at any one you know that wants to quit smoking, if you do not have an issue with smoking or any other addictions the book is still a good read. Thank you for listening or reading. Hello my lovely listeners, I know I mentioned I meditate, but repetition is key so I’m going to go on about it until you actually try. Plus I have been given permission to share some of free clips from the makers on my favorite app Headspace, a UK & USA company. So I thought I am going to walk you through what I do during my morning session, so yo get a clear picture of what medication is. I actually come across transitional meditation where you repeat a couple of words or phrases, now I had a good internet search and it seems you actually need to see an approved teachers to help you first before send you on your way to mindfulness. Since there is noone around where I live in france, I will have to wait until my next trip to London. Why meditate? You will gain from sitting still even for a short period of time, in today's busy life and so much noise, on the streets, on the web, we are submerged with data, people needs, personal envies and desires, It’s can get very stressful at times, and learning to meditate helps greatly to make you less subjective to lose your shit, in other words, you will think before you act. Thank you Jessica McCabe for your Ted Talk, finds out about her, and her patreon which I am proud to say I just joined. www.howtoadhd.com Hello my lovely listeners or readers, this week I have found what I thought was wrong with me for almost all my life. It’s called ADHD, Einstein, J.F.K, Richard Branson, Justin Timberlake, and many others have it, in fact we represent around 3 to 5% of the population. For years I have been suffering from not being able to switch off my brain to sleep, can not keep a day job for long, have impulsive behaviors, not aware of time like most people, able to hyper focus on a task to the point that I forget to eat or drink, procrastinate, start many things and not finish them, be full of ideas, daydream constantly, lose my concentration if some talk to me too slow, being forgetful, and piss a lot of people without realising it. I have sorted myself out on many factors, with meditation, exercise, self improvement, boosting my self esteem, before I actually found out I had ADHD all along. It’s genetics, so you either have or you don’t, it had a massive negative impact in my life, because the system is not made for people with ADHD. I got fired from two schools, teachers always said great potential, can do more but spend his time not paying attention, or making others laugh in class. For years I was told I was stupid, try harder, when I wasn’t my fault, but a condition. If you have too, please do not think it’s a curse, it’s great conditions to have, we are the creators, the doers, the ones that think outside the box, the leaders of this world, because we have so much energy to give, we just learn to canalised it, focus our attention for period of time, use it and give our gift to this world. We do not fit the norm, and we shouldn’t to be and live the rest of people because we can not adapt ourselves, we need to embrace ADHD and concentrate on what we are good at, not we are not capable of doing. I love you all and thank you for following me with my podcast. What helps to turn off that super brain? Lena is a professional speaker, personal coach and woman Inspired influencer. “Lena is very compassionate, highly spiritual and kind human being and best at her work. I will continue to work with her as I travel my entrepreneur journey. I would highly recommend her expertise to any business person…” Pranita Salunke - CEO of Vitality Health Clinic Lena Kay’s Website: https://lenakay.com Lena’s Ted Talk with 1,700,000 views to date, in this video, Lena Kay shares the 3 steps on how she went from being in a homeless shelter with a brain tumour to living the life of her dreams and how you can transform your life using the same process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L51h8BBu7b8 “I believe we are born to win and programmed to lose”. Lena Kay Born in Kurdistan (northern Iraq), during the Iran – Iraq war, her family went to the U.K as refugees of war escaping not just Iranian bombs, but also Saddam’s chemical weapons. Lena went to school, college and university. She did very well in high school despite suffering a nervous stammer, where she was seeing a speech therapist. She hated her teens as most people do. Her parents were working class so when she went to University studying for her BA Hons majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Cultural Studies, she was also working part time at a gambling arcade. The company saw leadership skills in her, they offered Lena a deal to leave university. “I was in my second year, in the middle of a traumatic event and I used the money as an excuse to escape out of the intensity of the trauma that was surrounding me. So in my early twenties I was running 10 gambling establishments in London. I worked there for over 4 years until I moved onto RBS Business Banking where I soon rose as a team leader. Things looked good from the outside, but inside there was a storm brewing.” At the lowest point in her life she prayed for my life to end. She was spiralling deeper and deeper into darkness and addiction. “Now don’t get me wrong, my transformation wasn’t easy or overnight. Nothing worth having comes easy – but it sure is worth it.” “I’m certainly an optimist these days, but I’m a realist first, so when life brings adversities into my path (because it’s life and it’s what happens unless we want to live in a cave) I now deal with them from the inside out – not from the outside in.” “Master Yourself So You Can Master Anything” She came off the government assistance to work for a sales and business development company in London where she became the Managing Director. Lena also underwent intense trainings to build coaching skills with The Coaching Academy for Personal Performance Coaching, and she’s also an NLP & Law of Attraction Practitioner certified by Dr Joe Vitale & Dr Steve G Jones. Her business is supported by the Princes Trust. In 2015 She took her business plan through the Business Enterprise Programme and successfully passed when presenting her business to a panel of experts. She was also a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 for Kingston Business Excellence Awards. Love life – She has healed her heart and attracted the love of my life. They got married this February (2018) I ask Lena those questions: Thank you for making me cry on your video, when you admit to the TedTalk audience that the little boy was you, were you really pronounced dead? Catalyst for change, you are the creator of your life vide, how did you find it? Addictions - drugs and smoking, If you don’t mind, what kind of drugs we are addicted too? How did you overcome your addiction, and prescribed drugs, going with your gut feelings? Health - How did you healed my body naturally. Money & wealth - Removing limiting beliefs and running your own business. Making a positive impact in the world, you get inspired by changing people life’s for the better right? Tell me more about those books; quantum physics, neuroscience, microbiology, law of attraction, religions and spiritual teachings. What mistake you made on your success journey? What cool project you currently working on? A new book, TedTalk new service? What would you advise to people struggling right now with their life? What do you do to relax? I suffered for almost 10 years with my porn and sex addiction, which led to a heavy use of drugs such as Marijana, Cocaine and alcohol. I would watch porn up to 12 times a day on a bad day, which affected my own business, my self esteem and happiness. I would tell people I was doing great, but behind close doors I was crying and seeking help. For me I was getting to the point that I told myself: if you can’t stop I will just have to kill myself at some point. It took therapy sessions , NLP sessions talking to good friends and reading books about addiction but what really worked for me is the drastic measures I took: At the age of 39, I decided to leave the UK and back home to France to give myself the best chance to succeed and change my bad habits. Changing my environment, moving back to my to France to my mum and working every day at doing less and less really worked for me. I was committed for change, and I stopped judging myself when I failed some days. In the first edition of my Podcast the Dider Show I share my struggles and how I changed for the better. I would like to invite you to listen, because I thought I was totally lost and I would never overcome my porn addiction. But I did, and it took less time than I thought, so I want to tell you guys out there that there is hope for you too if you are currently struggling with the compulsive behaviour that touches so many people that are too ashamed to reach out and seek help. What about masturbation habits: how many times, most men do it once a day, sometimes 3 times a day. Start, where does it come from? How it crip on me, what damage it caused in my life. What other bad habits came with it. How it became impossible to concentrate, function, created my own prison. The changes I made in the end. Seeking advice, don’t judge yourself too hard. Happy ending, change of environment. Stay busy, there is hope, you can do it and change your bad habits and adopt new good one Books i recommend: Out of shadows, Patrick Carnes Breaking the cycle, George Collins MA, and Andrew adleman MA Always turned on by Robert Weiss and jennifer p. Leah Torres is a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology and she has the unique honor and humble responsibility of addressing some of the most sensitive and intimate of topics in people’s lives. Not only does she takes this aspect of her profession very seriously, but she has also made it a central focus of her practice. She quotes: “The society in which we live is so immensely Victorian even now that to speak of topics such as sex and sexuality is crippling for most people.” Check her out at: https://leahtorres.com/ I came accros Leah during her conversation with Amanda Palmer about abortion, and since I had a recorded conversation with my own grand-mother, in which she convined in me her life story and told me she had to perform herself about 17 misscarriage. I did not know what to say at the point and was thinking of pausing the recording on my phone, but I noticed a tear come down her face, and I realise how much she must have gone through, the secrecy and the pain she had to carry all these years. I can pretend to even come close to understand fully what this must do to a woman's body, physically and physiology, but I want to try to do what I can to help this problem I see today. By that I mean, what is happening in the States with the current proposal for the law to be changed and made illegal unless the woman's life is at risk, but not in the case of a rap. After spending some time researching this topic on the internet, I found this: That the U.S. Supreme Court announced 7-2 decision in Roe v. Wade: That a woman’s constitutional right to privacy extended to decisions about whether to terminate a pregnancy, thus essentially declaring that laws prohibiting abortion were unconstitutional. Now surely this is good news, but it is reality, I’m guessing we are fighting against the shame and bullying on those poor woman, that to me should have the right to do what they feel is best for their life and body. I read from Amanda Palmer blog post on her patron this book Robin Marty - Handbook for a Post-Roe America, is this a good place to start? I read you had to leave a position because of hate mail, How difficult must that have been for you and your colleagues? How can those poeple against abortion can justify keeping a baby after a rape? How can we try to change some mind and see the truth? When I first contacted you on twitter you were very wairy, I’m guessing you must get a lot of crap for speaking out? How do you deal with that? What do you have to say to the people that hate you for speaking and standing for women. Is there a petition already out there for people to help the cause? Now I did create some fake profile on Linked In and I got loads of messages of men asking my fake girls out, I was a bit amused but shocked by it. Woman must get a lot of shit on a daily basis. Define to me what makes you happy please. Any books you would recommend to me? Thank you for listening, and have fun out there. Piss off Iphone, and Facebook, young people need to be taught that there is life without a phone. I hate Iphone with passion, I mean Steve Jobs used to stand for something great, an idea that the world could be better, not the over priced piece of shit of a phone they call iPhone these days, and charge you $1000 when it cost probably $100 to made by little children in a far away country that I can most likely not even spell nor pronounce correctly. By the way iPhone and rest of shitty phone out there are not even phone, try to call someone and the battery will run out before you get to finish your first sentence. I mean fuck off Tim Cooks and your Share Older cunts, you all should be shot in the name of Steve for taking a shit all over his company. You bunch of cunts, Appel used to stand for an idea of greatness, a purpose to do thing differently, to be creative, to stand alone, push the boundaries to innovate, to make a difference. When was the last time you cunts have actually had a real idea other than: let’s see how much more money we can suck out from the poor bastards are there? I’m a hypocrite, I still have an iPhone, But not for long you fuckers, I fell in love for what mac used to be, I still own my iMac, and Macbook pro which I adore, I will never use a PC, only if I decide to cut my balls off. I’m angry at Apple iPhone lack of innovation, the head phone is the most stupid thing I ever have seen, I actually found someone day in a park and gave it away to a friend daughter, why because I’ll be dead before you see me wearing that stupid thing, I mean I like to meet whoever thought that was a good idea, I’m certain Steve Jobs himself would slap the shit out the guy that invented this stupid and useless thing. Shame on you appel, you lost your cool for me, you going down the pan and I won’t be sorry to see you die if you carry one come up with crap. Of course, you won’t because you are very good at selling a turd, you actually manage to take a piece of shit, put glitter on it and sell it as the best thing there is today. Fuck you. But it’s also you, the people that buying the newest Iphone like you live depends on it, you fucking retards, why do you feel the need to get a new phone every year you morrons? You make me sick, all of you. Facebook, or shit show as I prefer to call it, fuck you too Mark Zuckerberg, who the fuck you think you are putting advertazment in the middle of videos on you platform, unlike youtube where you can skip a stupid advertment after only a few seconds, you twat when the extra miles into thinking why force feed me your rubbish ads just because you can. Fuck you, you’re trully cunt. I ate you more than my ate for sweaty ass cheeks. You and your shit show have responsibility as a human to sensibilise the young generation and help them to understand there is life without likes and comment because I share what people have had for breakfast, I mean you morrons out there, get a fucking life. Nobody cares about what you had today, or yesterday for lunch. Nobody cares about your meanless life. And yes Mr Zuckerberg could take out your fingers out of your ass and be accountable when your platform helped some cunts in America elect what is esentially the worst hair implant ever designed in the while wide world as president, or more of a joke of president, a guy whom did NOT start from nothing, his own dad put him where he is, I mean the guy failed pretty much everything he puts his dirty sexist useless hands on. Please Mr. Zuckerberg, can you help this generation and not get them attached to their phone please? There is beauty, wonderful things all around us, and you don’t need to have your head down your lap checking your phone every time it beeps. I would like to thank you as there is a mean to cap the amount of time you spend on your platform, but could you maybe make it more obvious to them, warm them that maybe 4 hours per day is like an addiction, just maybe you Sir could help come up with something that will help to make the new generation and those to come after, to be better human beings, not the nobhead I see every day in a cafe, bar, bus, totally immersed on their phone. Please, I implore you, Please Mr. Zuckerberg do something about this sickness that is growing every day. I use Facebook for my group of volunteer, so yes I’m a hypocrite in a way. Facebook is great as a tool to find old friends and share some cool shit, and for other things such as checking out a cheek you just met, I’m just sad to see the young people wasting all their time on it or on other platforms. But it also you poeple again, for fuck sake try to spend a day without your phone, try to look while walking where you’re going before you end up walking into a lamppost or into a pond, try to understand, Facebook is not real, it’s in the air, it’s all just a shit show for haters to voice their stupid and irrelevant comments, get out, exercise, go hicking, get your pals for a game of football in the park, talk to the person next to you on the bus, look at the clouds and see the various shape of animals, call a old friend, play your instrument, try something new, read a book, then maybe we will see the beauty in every moment of our lifes, not defined by how many likes we get, I implore you we all need to take a good look at ourselves and decide where we are going. People I tell you again, watch the HBO mini series Chernobyl, and listen to the podcast with Craig Mazin writer and producer of the show, it’s already been rated top series ever, so get your fingers out of your ass and go watch it now. Thank you for listening, and have fun out there. Didier Support this podcast if you can, it’s totally ok if you can’t you tight bastard :-) I’m messing with you. Black mirror creator Charlie Brooker is a genius. Emotional intelligence by Daniel Goleman, and heroes of Chernobyl. I recommend highly this book Emotional intelligence by Daniel Goleman. For too long I used to feel bad about myself because I failed to recognize my own sabotage and judging myself too hard. For example : I play piano every day in the train station on the provided piano and I can get at times 20 people per week thanking me how good I play or how much pleasure they get from it, but once one guy came behind me asking what I was playing which I reply my own songs to get his reply: you and for 2 weeks this is all I was thinking about. This is madness and I don’t nor deserve this stress open myself. Be aware of what you tell yourself on a daily basis is mindfulness and I do now watch myself when I do over criticism myself :-). If you suffer from this please do yourself a favor and read the book. The other thing is how rude some people are, especially on social media. When you hear about celebrities going to rehab, we far too quick to judge: oh well that serve him right, he be ok he’s loaded, but they all human like any of us, and sometimes, me more the most, we fuck up, we make mistake, should be judged on that basis only and forgot about all the good work we have achieved before, who the fuck can be radius enough to judge others? Nobody is perfect period, and I would even go and most of those haters, hiding behind the computers of the phone would be sorry if we, in turn, look at their fucked up life. So go fuck yourself the YouTubers thumbs down (Nobody forced you to watch that video, so go do something else) the racist commentator, the one who makes shit up to prove their stupid point, all those cunts...go find a pond and drown yourselves. This world needs love and compassion, not your hate and ass tower point of view. I fucking love black mirror by Charlie Brooker. What I genius I used to love his Newswipe show on BBC, he used to make laugh so much I think I pissed myself once. Black mirror is an among the best series there is today on Netflix. His bander snatch where you get to choose what happens next is mind-blowing, I loved it so much I made my own mum watch it, and she loved it, thank you, Charlie, for making it on French too. Breaking bad used to be the best show, not anymore, well it’s not comparable really, just like the Wire series is not comparable to a tree. Or narco another great show. This week I watched the HBO mini-series Chernobyl and I loved it, I wasn’t aware of all the people that sacrifice and gave their lives to help stop more radioactive materials been exposed to the population without asking for getting anything or very little in return from their government. I have so much respect for the human been involved with the cleanup operation and all the those who help to get the truth out even if they knew they would be either kill or discarded by the owns. Watch it please you won’t regred it. Thank you for listening. Didier Support this podcast: Paypal: https://paypal.me/didierSoulier Become my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/didiersoulier

Sex addiction, it will never satisfy you. Porn is not real and shouldn’t try to act out what you see with your partner. Finding an intimate time with your partner is far more rewarding. Caress her for hours but not in the sexual parts. Just try it out. If you single, well too bad for you :-) Addiction, understand yourself, find what trigger you, stop yourself before you feel the need to act out sexually. Stay busy, when you feel the urges, just go for a walk, the feeling will pass Stay away from the swimming pool, gym, beach where you may see attractive girls who will turn you on and start you off. Scratch your beard, when you start to stair a girl and look away within seconds See woman as little kids, this helps me to stop to sexualize them. Don’t judge yourself too hard, you are better than you think, in fact having a sex-related issues means you have a big libido, and you are strong and can be very successful when you will find the way to use this energy to your benefit. Drug addiction: if your friends are doing drugs, then you need to stay away from them until you are strong enough to say no. Be aware of your friends that do drugs will likely try to stop you in your tracks because they don’t want you to change. If they are truly good friends they will support you if they don’t, simple just ditch them, they are no good to you anymore. Try to not compare yourself to other people, don’t compare with people that have the same age and that are already successful, you are you, and stay yourself, you will get there, just be yourself because everybody else is already taken. podcast Episode Number 2: Recap on the first episode. Porn addiction, coke addiction, pot, Viagra…. The hell and cage I created for myself. Importance to talk and seek help. See show note on 1st Episode which is worth checking out plus the book I recommend. Been Successful? What does it mean to you? Been a good dad, a good person, a good friend, spend time with loves ones and family is been successful. Money? Of course, I feel happier when I have money in my bank compare to when I was totally broke. But Money won’t get you happiness, if you are not happy with yourself now, having money won’t help you. Fact, some millionaires are miserable, and someone in a poor country has a smile on their face all day long. Now morning routine, why I exercise and do something for your community. Some books I read about personal improvement: The secret, (a lot of shit) Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill (good but not enough to think about what you want) If you want to be successful, read about successful people and follow what they do, not the assholes on a video you saw on facebook. Have a great week, Love Autobiography and books I recommend Richard Branson and losing my virginity, Happy by Darren Brown, I can’t make this up by Kevin Hart and Neil Strauss (the game), This is going to Hurt by Adam Kay (recommended by Steven Fry), Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
