As we wrap up Pride Month, Bri reflects on the rigid gender roles traditionally assigned to planets and zodiac signs and explores how a more inclusive, non-binary approach can enrich our understanding and practice of astrology. Drawing on cultural perspectives that recognize a spectrum of genders, Bri challenges us to rethink these outdated norms and consider how modern interpretations can lead to more holistic and personalized astrological readings. With insights from different cultures, practical applications for inclusive astrology, and a discussion on the ethical implications and future directions of astrological practice, this episode aims to open up new possibilities for interpreting astrological symbols in a way that resonates with contemporary values of diversity and inclusion.

Remembering that multiple truths can coexist simultaneously is crucial for understanding complex situations and navigating work and life these days. This, however, is often much easier said than done, especially in today's world. On this episode, I talk about some of the things that make embracing different perspectives so challenging. I also share four specific things we can do to expand our capacity for understanding multiple and even conflicting ideas at the same time, which can be a real super power when harnessed with authentic curiosity and empathy. After checking the bodies, the heroes were still left confused as to what had happened. The bodies showed no clear external signs of injury, and there were no indicators suggesting what could have killed them. The heroes split up and searched around the church to see if they could find any additional clues. The Swordsman Hero checked the bodies for items of interest, but found that none of them carried anything at all. This confused him, but he continued searching. The Jester drew some blood from a few of the bodies, hoping to test if they had been poisoned. The woman checked around the interior doors, seeing if she could find any signs of aggressive entry. Finding nothing of the sort, she opened up a peculiar looking door and went inside. Thank you so much to Chris for coming by! Peace is personal; part of demystifying peacebuilding is recognising the agency of young people who are building and sustaining peace in their communities, and speaking up against injustices and acknowledging their role as peacebuilders. In this episode of the Peace Corner, Freya from UNOY Peacebuilders sat down with Anbid Zaman, LGBTQIA+ human rights activist, and discussed intersectionality, stereotypes and moving beyond binary gender identities in peacebuilding. Peace, just like conflict, is highly gendered. Assumptions about who is peaceful and who is violent rely on stereotypes. Young peacebuilders come from different backgrounds, work on different issues, and have intersectional identities. Stereotypical assumptions about young people lead to the exclusion and discrimination of youth. In order to ensure their participation, we need to be aware of the structures that lead to their exclusion, open up spaces, and unite in solidarity with young people who cannot be in the room. The Beyond Binary team debates whether it's possible to be a conscious consumer, how evolutionary psychology, social media, and a desire to succeed and be conscious drive us all to be more conspicuous in our spending habits, and whether the scorn of this all is helpful. From Zizek to Kim Kardashian via Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates, we talk about poverty shaming, the politics of envy, whether greed is good, and whether progress is possible.
I was surprised when two senior leaders of The Satanic Temple agreed to a chat, especially given the organisations’s dramatic growth following the warts and all documentary (now on Netflix). I came prepared to play devil’s advocate. How can a group whose values include the right to offend be inspiring and thoughtful? How does a growing and popular organisation stop themselves from becoming the powerful theocracy they’re protesting against? The Satanist label clearly gets a lot of press attention, but isn’t it counterproductive for their work in schools and with mental healthcare? I tried to hold up the mirror to some criticism of their members’ groupthink, and hypocrisy. They responded thoughtfully, and left us awestruck by the depth of their understanding of religion, psychology, philosophy, and how to change the world for the better. Susan Stryker (University of Arizona) 'Transgeneration: Or, Becoming-With My Monstrous Kin' In this keynote address, Susan Stryker tells the story, from her perspective, of how the essay 'My Words to Victor Frankenstein Above the Village of Chamounix' entered the world and what that monstrous assemblage has been doing since it found its way into print. In doing so, she charts a trajectory across queer theory in the 1990s, the emergence of transgender studies as an increasingly legible field, the shift in cultural studies toward questions of ontology and technicity, and new articulations of transness and blackness within contemporary social theory. http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/events/28386 lgbtQ+@cam was launched by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2018 to promote research, outreach and network building related to queer, trans and sexuality studies at the University of Cambridge. Working closely with allied initiatives in other Faculties and Centres, the lgbtQ+@cam programme combines small focussed workshops and seminar series with larger conferences and events to both enhance existing teaching and research in lgbtQ+ studies at Cambridge, and build stronger links to queer research and study programmes nationally and internationally. We hear more and more about the need to get more women in tech. More female founders, female funders, and more female panelists at events. Is it a man's world? Jess Houlgrave, founder of Codex Protocol and shEOS recently said in an interview with the Spectator that blockchain is "an industry based on merit. It’s very diverse, very varied politically and geographically — so no one cares whether you’re male or female, it’s about how good you are". Does that mean there isn't a problem? We discuss with Jess herself, her thoughts, experiences and theories, on the role of software, society, finance, the media, quotas, regulation and education in correcting the balance.

In communities around the globe, genderqueer, gender-variant and gender-fluid people are rejecting the categories of male and female, and attempting to re-define gender identity. Linda Pressly asks if being non-binary breaks the last identity taboo, and explores the challenges it creates for the law, society and conventional concepts about the very nature of gender. Producer: Lucy Proctor (Photo: Pips Bunce, the global head of Fixed Income & Derivatives IT engineering at Credit Suisse, who identifies as gender-fluid, or gender-variant).

You can join author Janet Hardy and I at the Wicked Grounds kinky coffeeshop for a discussion of sex, musicals, gender, being highly sexual, being in love with gay men, unfolding the mysteries of hanky code, fluidity, beyond binaries, and consent at a book reading of her new book, "GirlFag: a Life told in Sex and Musicals." Janet Hardy co-wrote the Ethical Slut, The Topping Book, The Bottoming Book, and many other sex-positive classics with Dossie Easton. Janet's latest book details her life as a girlfag, visits girlfags past and present like the girlfag pharaoh of Egypt and a British expat writer in South Africa. Girlfag, while gleefully recalling musical theatre numbers, also sifts through the shifting meanings of gender and sexual orientation. Monika wonders if she too is not just a "fruit fly," but also a girlfag.
