In this episode, Ryan Burklo discusses the importance of true liquidity in retirement. He explains that while pre-retirement, short-term volatility can be addressed due to a longer time horizon, withdrawals from market-based assets in retirement can compound the effect of market losses and increase the risk of running out of money. Burklo provides an example to illustrate this concern. He suggests setting up a true liquidity fund alongside retirement accounts to have access to funds that are not correlated with the market. Burklo emphasizes the need to set up this fund prior to retirement to manage risks and live a more comfortable life. Do you come from a nice background? Your parents were good to you, everything came easy, and it seemed like the world was your oyster. That's the reality of most middle class Americans. Although that's a life every parent dreams for their kids, it doesn't always prepare them for the realities that life will inevitably throw at them. In this week's podcast episode, we explore essential concepts that challenge the way we perceive wealth and financial planning. The first big idea revolves around the evolving nature of money's value over the past three decades, highlighting how traditional savings might no longer suffice in our financial world of rapid inflation and money printing. In particular, we also delve into the deceptive impact of inflation, revealing how it can trick us into a false sense of financial security while eroding our wealth silently. The episode emphasizes the pursuit of both financial and time freedom, suggesting that a strategic restructuring of our finances can help us achieve a balanced life that provides both financial stability and the freedom to follow our passions.Creating a personal financial blueprint takes center stage as we stress the importance of aligning priorities with our unique circumstances and aspirations. It's not just about saving or investing; it's about crafting a solid plan that aligns with our long-term goals. Lastly, the episode guides listeners on how to move from ideas to action in their investing journey. Dreams and aspirations are vital, but the hosts emphasize the need for practical steps and strategies to turn these aspirations into a reality. The overarching message here is to adopt a new mindset regarding wealth accumulation, focusing on preparing for the future in a world of constantly evolving financial landscapes. The episode encourages a holistic approach that integrates long-term planning, risk management, and the strategic use of investment tools to hedge against inflation. By considering these five fundamental concepts, listeners gain valuable insights to navigate the complex world of finance and embark on a path to secure their financial future and achieve their goals. What you'll learn:How much the value of money has changed over the past 30 years; How inflation has tricked us into thinking that we've “made it” when in reality, we're losing more of our wealth; How we can restructure our finances to live a life that provides us financial and time freedom; How to align your priorities to create your financial blueprint; and,How to move from ideas to action to get your investing journey started.Resources: Dig into our Ultimate Investment Book ListBook a Discovery Call with us so we can help you overcome your current struggle and take the next step in your financial journeyThe Real Group Windsor Real Estate TeamInvested Teacher Ontario MortgagesInvested Teacher Wealth PlanningDownload our Wealth Building Blueprint Analysis Paralysis is REAL! Have you ever wondered why we often find ourselves trapped in patterns and routines, even when they aren't benefitting us? That's the allure of comfort – it subtly tempts us into stagnation. In this episode, I confront the widely held belief that comfort is a trustworthy compass for human experience. I argue that your adherence to comfort may actually be downplaying your accomplishments.I discuss how open emotions like inspiration, gratitude, and bravery and propose hold the keys to a life of comfort. This may sound paradoxical at first, but it is within our struggles that we find the seeds of growth and transformation. By seeking strength and wisdom from Allah, we transform our discomfort into actually creating a comfortable life. https://www.islamiclifecoachschool.com/wisdom-wednesdays-free-group-coaching

The state of comfort can be very enjoyable — but it can also prevent you from growing. Comfort limits you to what's familiar, preventing you from stretching the bounds of what you are capable of. And if you are in a great place in life or have achieved a certain level of success, discomfort and pain aren't going to be your motivators. Because it is very unlikely that you are going to experience them. The solution? Detach a little bit in your relationship from pain and know that pain is not the only motivator. So, what would you say? Is the comfortable life? Is it having more money? Or more friends? Or better health? or thinner, or a nicer car or a nicer house? Well, there's nothing wrong with these things. However, why do we want them? The social environment influences the majority of choices that we make and our wants. Our advertising world is so caught up and getting us to buy things that we really don't need. Lowering stress is actually lowering our wants and desires and accepting what is true in the moment, is also wanting less. Real joy is accepting the joys of life without needing things to be different. If you always want things to be different, it actually adds to your stress. The power of being present is so healthy and lowering our stress. So today, how about not wanting more than what you have? How about accepting what you have, accepting the world as it is, and accept things that you cannot change? The only thing that we really should want in this life is to become our best self, the person that can love truly anything and anyone. I love you. The Prosperity Show Podcast. Financial Health | Business Success | Peace of Mind
It sometimes surprises me when I realize how unaware people are of what's going on inside and around them. In this episode, I talk about different kinds of awareness and how becoming more aware can improve your life and what you can do to increase your awareness. Highlights Especially if you are in business, you have to be aware of so much more than what's going on in your life. If you're not aware, it's easy to fall prey to manipulative forces that are doing their best to affect your opinions and buying habits. Raising your awareness helps you better understand both yourself and the world around you. People who are busy surviving can't necessarily pay attention – or develop awareness – about what's going on around them. Those who enjoy a higher income life often lose interest or awareness of people who have to struggle just to survive. A lot of people who get caught up in crime and drugs have had a difficult childhood. With awareness comes the ability to make decisions that can lead you to a more comfortable life and positive outcomes. If you're stuck in who you have been, you'll have a hard time making profitable decisions. We aren't going back to “normal”. If you make the decision to become more aware, your life is going to get better. I promise. Even if you don't want to meditate, just sit still doing nothing for 10 minutes a day. I talk about how to do this effectively. Are you satisfied with what you're doing? And if you're not, what are you doing to change what you're doing? Make a decision to become more aware no matter what your current level of awareness is. I talk about the Supreme Court and how their decisions affect you whether you pay attention or not. The power to change whatever you want to change, it just doesn't happen quickly and you may have to learn something new. If you become aware that food companies don't have your best interest at heart, maybe you'll make a change. The chaos that we're all going to be experiencing is going to affect all of us and you will fare better if you pay attention to what's happening. Links Click here to learn about The MetaMind Circle
(September 25, 2022) "Jesus Christ died for our sins and came back from the dead to show us that God's ways are above human reasonings and hopes," Deacon David L. Hall said in today's homily. "And believing that, we are called to follow Jesus in the way He loves––not putting our own comfort and convenience above a commitment to be like our Lord."DOWNLOAD TRANSCRIPT
If you do not make yourself uncomfortable the universe will do it for you. I heard this saying from a mentor of mine named Brent Kocal who hosts the Everyday Discipline podcast. Discipline is my ultimate favorite skill; it is the key to getting what you want. In this episode I discuss the importance of staying disciplined with deliberate discomfort in your life in order to experience a more comfortable and rewarding journey.

Leaving a comfortable life and moving to another place can seem scary. Especially if you have no friends there, the people speak a different language, and there is an entirely unfamiliar culture. There is a pretty good chance, though, that you will face this situation in a young age. In this episode I talk to Pernille Foss who moved from Norway to Qatar when she was 16 years old.
In this episode Darnise discusses the importance of moving out of our comfort zone
Psalm 86:17 "Show me a sign for good. That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed. Because You, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me."

This episode is a bit of a break from the norm. I wanted to share an article that I read recently and which I found extremely profound, moving and thought provoking. It's written by a guy called Erik Rittenberry and is called 'The Comfortable Life is Killing You'. What I particularly enjoyed about it is that it seems to capture perfectly the general ills and malaise that seems to be afflicting so many of us in daily life, but also presents some remediating things we can do to tackle the situation. Not all the changes Erik recommends will be easy to take on, but we need to seriously consider them nonetheless. I hope you find the piece as interesting and moving as I did, and if so I hope you'll head over to medium, offer a few claps for the piece and maybe check out some more of Erik's work. You can also read the article at http://bit.ly/2vnugyB If you have any comments or feedback on this episode you can reach out by email on toby@tobyhazlewood.com

Sometimes the beating of our heart’s desires don’t always make sense. At least, not for a little while that is. I never once thought about living in a yurt until the opportunity arose and became a very real possibility in my life. If anything, I always thought of myself as more of a tiny home or cabin deep in the woods gal when it came to alternative living. But when the opportunity for this experience came into my life on one serendipitous early July afternoon, something inside of me knew I had to pursue it. True to how most of the things I’m suppose to be doing happen, it all unfolded rather effortlessly and today, I live in a yurt on a goat farm in Northern California. I’m excited to share more with you in this episode. Episode Highlights Why I moved to a small town to live in a yurt and how I never even wanted to live in one! The questions I started to ask myself that got me to make changes. Why I often feel like a fraud. How my unhappiness made me say “Hell Yes!” to this dream. What my goals for "#yurtlife are. Listen to the end because I ask you POWERFUL questions to get you to make real, impactful changes in your life! "That's somebody who makes money so they can make more art," he said. The key is to combine your art with a business sense (even if it's just the basics). Start with your natural talents. Turn those talents into skill (through practice). Develop a business sense (more on this in the podcast) and figure out "what does ownership" look like in your space. I've previously stated that I don't understand why anyone would go into the field of medicine as a way of getting rich. I understand why people would want to do it because it fits their goals and personality and sense of calling, but I've always felt that it's a bad move financially. Even though you can earn a high income, there are a lot of disadvantages to the career! Well, my guest on today's show disagrees with me! He's a practicing physician and he thinks I'm dramatically misrepresenting the financial potential and payoff of medicine. I think you'll enjoy our debate! What do you want to do with your life? It’s not a rhetorical question. What do you want to do with your life? That's the difficult question a good friend of Jeff Goins asked him a few years ago; before Jeff had created Goinswriter.com, before Jeff landed a deal with a publisher, and before he truly started living his passion. The questions we ask ourselves (and get asked) matter. The hard ones usually matter the most. Stop Hiding Jeff thought earnestly about the question and answered: "I want to be a writer." His friends response: “You don’t have to want to be a writer, you are a writer. You just need to write.” The realization hit Jeff like a ton of bricks. His friend was right. All he had to do was start writing. So, with a clear purpose and direction, Jeff created his blog: Goinswriter.com. In his first year, he wrote over 300 blog posts (300!) for his website and another 100 (100!) guest blog posts for various other websites. In less than two years, Jeff built his blog to a monthly readership of 100,000 people. So what happened that sparked his incredible success? In Jeff's own words: "I stopped hiding." About Jeff Goins Jeff is a blogger, speaker, published author, and, at his core, Jeff is a writer. His blog, Goinswriter.com is all about writing, putting your work out there, and telling better stories. Jeff's blog focuses on some essential questions Like: How do successful writers make a living? What does it really take to get published? Jeff's blog is an incredible resource for aspiring artists and writers alike. Jeff has been featured in Copyblogger, Problogger, and Zen Habits, among many other publications. You can find his most recent book Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into your Comfortable Life online and in bookstores everywhere. Awesome Quotes From the Interview: You don’t have to want to be a writer, you are a writer. You just need to write. When I started creating my very best work, people started paying attention. Blogging literally is publishing. (tweet) Consistency is important, frequency is important, getting your name out there is important, but for me, it all comes down to creating your very best work. It’s really important to not assume my readers attention but to earn it. (tweet some more) Building [online] relationships is not the hard part. The hard part is having something to say and saying it in a way that is going to earn people’s attention. (tweet) People don’t find their purpose until they learn to give their lives away. (tweet this) We follow writers and authors and communicators not for their subject, not for what they say, but for how they say it. I had believed this popular paradigm online which is that you pick one subject and you just write about it and become an expert about it. I had started down that road but there was something about that that didn’t resonate with me. And I think the reason was that all the writers and authors that I read and appreciated didn’t stick to one particular subject or even genre. Maybe they started this way, but once they proved themselves they branched off into new areas. Great writers can write about any subject. (tweet tweet) Stop hiding. (definitely tweet this) The only, ONLY way that you get good, that you get REALLY good, is by creating something and sharing it with the world. In this conversation, Jeff Goins and I talk about: Why calling yourself a writer is essential to your success as an author/writer/artist Why trust and permission are ESSENTIAL for the success of anyone (yes, that includes you) What it takes to become a great writer The truth about publishing (it’s not easy) How to grow a blog to over 100,000 readers a month in one year Why you don’t have to compromise your art to make money The ridiculous amount of commitment and grit necessary to create a successful blog Why most people waste time trying to create a successful blog instead of doing this one simple (but tough) thing. Why you need to create your best work How blogging requires more than just the ability to write (you need to be able to do it all: create, edit, publish, etc.) Why trying to hold onto a certain quality of life will make you lose out on your best possible life What Taylor Swift can teach us about pacing our content and art Why you need to stop hiding and starting shipping! The power of soul searching and questioning yourself to find your passion Why you need to hustle if you want to make it Socialize: Reach out to Jeff and say hi!
