Gratitude: A Powerful Force for Positive Change Gratitude, a simple yet profound emotion, has the transformative power to shape our outlook on life and enhance our well-being. It is the recognition and appreciation for the good things we have, whether big or small, and it goes beyond a mere polite "thank you." Gratitude is a mindset, a way of living that can lead to profound shifts in perspective and foster a more fulfilling and contented life. At its core, gratitude involves acknowledging the positive aspects of our lives, cultivating a sense of appreciation for the people, experiences, and opportunities that contribute to our well-being. It is not reserved for grand gestures or extraordinary moments but extends to the ordinary moments that often go unnoticed. Whether it's the warmth of the sun on a chilly morning, the support of a friend during challenging times, or the opportunity to pursue a passion, practicing gratitude allows us to find joy in the everyday. Research in psychology and neuroscience has delved into the effects of gratitude on mental and physical health, revealing a myriad of benefits. Grateful individuals tend to experience lower levels of stress and depression while reporting higher levels of life satisfaction. The act of expressing gratitude has been linked to improved sleep, enhanced self-esteem, and even a strengthened immune system. It appears that gratitude is not just a pleasant sentiment; it can be a catalyst for positive change in various aspects of our lives. One of the key components of gratitude is mindfulness—the ability to be present and fully appreciate the current moment. In a fast-paced world filled with distractions, taking the time to reflect on and savor positive experiences becomes a powerful antidote to stress and dissatisfaction. Gratitude encourages us to shift our focus from what is lacking to what is abundant, fostering a sense of abundance and contentment. Moreover, the practice of gratitude extends beyond personal well-being; it can positively influence relationships and communities. When individuals express gratitude, whether through words or actions, it creates a ripple effect, fostering a culture of appreciation and kindness. Grateful people are often more empathetic and compassionate, strengthening social bonds and creating a positive atmosphere in their interactions with others. Incorporating gratitude into our daily lives can be achieved through various simple practices. Keeping a gratitude journal, where one regularly records moments of appreciation, is a popular method. This not only serves as a tangible reminder of the positive aspects of life but also encourages a habit of actively seeking out and recognizing moments of gratitude. Additionally, expressing gratitude directly to others, whether through a heartfelt thank-you note or a simple verbal acknowledgment, reinforces the positive impact of this emotion. In conclusion, gratitude is a powerful force that can profoundly impact our well-being and the world around us. By cultivating a grateful mindset, we open ourselves to a world of positivity and abundance. Gratitude is not just a fleeting emotion but a conscious choice to appreciate the richness of life, leading to a more fulfilled and meaningful existence. As we embrace gratitude, we discover that even in the midst of life's challenges, there is always something to be thankful for.

Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner welcoming you to this episode of Succotash that numbers 339. This is my first fully produced episode for 2023, and I thank you for making this your listening destination for the next more-or-less half-hour of your life. Did you catch Epi338 last week? In it, executive producer and show creator Marc Hershon brought you an episode called "First-of-the-year Foursome" in which he selected for you a quartet of clips from the soundcasts known as SNAFU, The Retrospectors' Today in History, The Worst Idea of All Time, and Unpopular Opinion. Also in that episode a brand new advertisement from "our longtime, non-paying, and completely fake sponsor Henderson's Pants featuring the new Bottoms Up Cargo Pants, with a design inspired by our very own Bill Heywatt". So that's fun. On a serious note…It was pointed out in that episode that THIS episode of Succotash will be the 100th that I have assembled. Some very nice and thoughtful things were said in that episode regarding my contributions to Succotash over the years and I couldn't be more grateful to be a part of this operation going on 9 years this April. It's nice to be appreciated. This week on Succotash, I have 4 clips for you, from the soundcasts The Movies That Made Me, Of Mice and Men and Monsters, The Three Questions with Andy Richter, and…what's basically a bonus clip from Sensibly Cynical to lead off the proceedings…if that's the correct way to put things. And the whole shootin' match is brought to you by Henderson's Pants working man and woman's favorite: CoverAlls! CLIPS Sensibly Cynical Recently over at the soundcast known as Sensibly Cynical, host Sean Pratten put together a clip show comprised of moments he determined to be the "Best of 2022". I have been fortunate enough to be asked to guest on his program 5 times in recent years, and Sean graciously decided to include a snippet of one of our conversations that took place in 2022. Eventually, we put together a list that was a "Mount Rushmore" of rock music. This clip is from earlier in the conversation. The Movies That Made Me Filmmakers and entertainers discuss the movies that inspired them. Hosted by Oscar nominated screenwriter and Trailers From Hell guru Josh Olson and fearless leader himself, director Joe Dante. The Movies That Made Me is recorded live in Hollywood and engineered by film composer Don Barrett. Our clip is from the premiere episode which dropped back in July of 2018 with guest, director Miguel Arteta (Beatriz At Dinner, The Good Girl, Duck Butter), who joins to discuss his love for the movies of Russ Meyer. Of Mice And Men And MonstersFrom the show's description, this is a real play podcast where Dungeons & Dragons collides with the classic stories you either love or completely avoided while in school. Join players Aaron, Adam, Kimmie, and Dungeon Master Katelyn, who is also a high school English teacher by day, as D&D elements are dropped into famous pieces of literature. The clip comes from July 27th, 2022 - Chapter 49: "Macbeth - Part 1" - As our heroes arrive at Lady Macbeth's villa, the hunt for the 2nd mysterious page has officially begun! The Three Questions with Andy RichterAs the show's description enlightens us regarding this soundcast: host Andy Richter asks the same three questions to each guest: Where do you come from? Where are you going? What have you learned? These three simple questions, when answered honestly and thoughtfully, are enough to provide a pretty complete picture of who a person is. The answers are what Andy always wants to know about people. This will not be a one-sided process, as Andy won't shy away from getting personal himself. I'm clipping from right toward the end of this past year, the epi that dropped the day after Christmas. Andy's guests are The Sklar Brothers. Randy and Jason join Andy Richter to discuss the marriage of sports and comedy, finding their scene(s), going to the same college as your twin, and much more. Congratulations to us! We made it to the end of the beginning of Succotash 2023. Episode #339 comes more-or-less neatly to a close, and here we all are tearfully waving at it from the docks as it heads for the Undying Lands of the internet where nothing really goes away unless magnets… Hopefully?…We will have hard drives in our heads that will be magnetically shielded against accidental EMPs or perhaps M.R.I. machines…I'm not 100% sure how all that works, but I am grasping at straws. Maybe things are supposed to go away regardless of modern methods of record-keeping. The more I think about it, I realize that all methods of record-keeping were "modern" at one point. Thankfully, we have the podcast — or the soundcast as we refer to them here on Succotash — as a way of keeping records that exist as long as the methods that preserve them are sound, and people take the time to listen to them. So, thank you for taking some of your time to listen to us. We really appreciate it. Perhaps you'd like to share your experience of us with other people? We'd also appreciate that. And tank you to everyone at Succotash for making me feel welcome over the years…Thank you, the audience, for being with us whenever you are or were. Be decent to each other, and if someone asks you if you have heard anything good or interesting lately, and we happen to qualify as your answer…won't you please pass the Succotash? — Tyson Saner

Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner. Welcome to Episode 275 of Succotash — I'm glad you found us. We have been here for over 10 years now, bringing clips of soundcasts from more-or-less around the globe for your ears to sample in the hopes that you might hear something you like and would like to hear more of, well, more of other people's soundcasts, specifically. Last week in Epi274, my co-host and your every-other-show-host Marc Hershon brought you what he referred to as "a full rack of clips" and I concur. He clipped from soundcasts For What It's Worth, Storytime with Seth Rogen, How to Survive! with Danielle & Kristine, and Films to Be Buried With with Brett Goldstein. He also featured a bonus clip of a soundcast called "What Are You Watching?, hosted by soundcaster and friend of the show Chris Mancini. The clip was from a recent episode that none other than the aforementioned Marc Hershon was a guest on. Lots of great content in that episode. This, however, is Epi275 and I've got three clips. One apiece from the soundcasts known as Dragon Talk, Cinemassacre Podcast, and Metaphysical Milkshake with Rainn and Reza. I'm sure I will be including a classic advert from our longtime fake sponsor Henderson's Pants and their all-inclusive new CoverAlls to "round things out" nicely. I'm using air-quotes when I say "round things out" because I am not sure I am using it correctly in this context. Anyone? CLIPS Dragon TalkGo inside the walls of Dungeons & Dragons for exclusive interviews and previews as the D&D team sits down each week with celebrities and personalities from across gaming and pop culture to discuss one of the greatest fantasy brands of all-time. Hosts Greg Tito and Shelly Mazzanoble talk about the tabletop roleplaying game, as the latest in D&D video games, comics, novels, movies, and television. Our clip is from May of last year, with special guest, comedian and actor Jeff Cannata diving into the Random Character Generator with Kate Welch. Cinemassacre Podcast The crew of Cinemassacre (James Rolfe, Kieran Fallon, and Justin Silverman) are out of the Nerd Room and into your ear-holes. They chat about their lives and the stuff they love: movies, games, and making videos. You'll also hear about behind-the-scenes antics, anecdotes about being long-time YouTubers, and a ton of obscure pop-culture crap. It's the off-the-cuff banter from Rental Reviews mixed with an AVGN panel, every Tuesday! Our clip comes from just back around the corner - this past September - in an episode entitled, "Wy Do We Destroy Video Games?, Bigfoot, and Re-Editing Star Wars". Metaphysical Milkshake with Rainn & Reza Hosted by actor Rainn Wilson and scholar Reza Aslan, Metaphysical Milkshake is a weekly soundcast where they go deep, get weird…and search for the meaning of life along the way. Every week the co-hosts guide you through conversations about Life's Big Questions. And a clip from just last month, they pose one such query to their guest, Grammy-winning musician Jason Isbell, asking him, "Where Does Music Come From?" I believe that's a pretty decent selection of audio from other peoples' soundcasts. I do enjoy listening to other people have conversations about all sorts of things. Were it not for being involved with this particular soundcast for the number of years that I have, I don't know if I would have ever heard the variety or sheer amount of other peoples conversations. I do have soundcasts that I listen to regularly, meaning that I will hear every episode they post as soon as possible after they post and I feel very fortunate to be able to do so. I think it has made me a better listener in general somehow… perhaps it functions the same way practicing anything theoretically is supposed to…I really don't know. Anyway, next week Marc Hershon will be back with more content in Epi276 and I will should be back the week after that if that is indeed what the future has in store for me. I am still making videogaming content for my YouTube channel which you can find by searching my name "Tyson Saner" in YouTube or you can go to www.tysonsaner.com to find a direct link to my channel as well as to various other entertainment endeavors I have been a part of in my improbably fortunate existence. Thank you for listening, be decent to each other, and if anyone asks you if you have heard anything interesting recently and that thing happens to be any of the content in this episode, won't you please pass the Succotash? — Tyson Saner

On this Episode 84 of Real Israel Talk Radio Defining Biblical Love Part 20, I will begin with the series of statements that Paul makes  in 1 Corinthians 13:7 saying that Biblical Love bears all things. Really? What is this supposed to mean? That I'm just supposed take whatever someone dishes out to me, I suppose especially if the person decides to be mean and nasty? Hmm. Well, let's have a look into this matter and get some direction from scripture. Previously, we learned that YHVH (Yehovah) is NEVER happy if a living soul chooses to remain with the iniquity that was first introduced to Eve in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:2, resulting in a catastrophic event due to Genesis 3:6 and Genesis 3:22. Beginning with 1 Corinthians 13:7, "Love bears all things," Paul opens up a whole line of reasoning that begins with basically taking what gets dished out to us. Well, that seems like a pretty raw deal. Recall some of Yeshua's most difficult words for us as recorded in the context of Luke 6:27-37: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either...But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same... For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Well, I admit that this is a pretty lofty menu of teachings that certainly does not come easy for me and I suspect, not for anyone, period.Join us today for our podcast Episode 84 of Real Israel Talk Radio and Part 20 of Defining Biblical Love as YHVH defines it from his perspective. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=23WBKCMBHKDT8/Ancient Roads: Real Israel Talk Radio)

In this episode, part two from Episode #100, host Mark Reggers and PPE specialist Maurice Gould dive deeper into the various technical specifications that differentiate coveralls from one another, and how these differences inform our choices when selecting the most suitable coverall for the intended workplace application. Coveralls vary in all kinds of ways, from the type of material, the methods of layering different materials to improve protection, breathability and wearer comfort, seam and tear strength and in the overall quality, adherence to standards and compliance. We must ensure that those responsible for protecting workers with PPE such as coveralls, are doing the right thing, knowing the garments are fit for purpose, understanding all the factors involved and making fully informed choices to protect workers and keep workplaces safe.

Part one of our two-part series focusing on Protective Coveralls, 3M PPE Specialist Maurice Gould takes host Mark Reggers through the considerations employees and workers must be familiar with when it comes suitable and appropriate PPE Coverall protection.   Besides the obvious role of coveralls in keeping workers and their clothes clean, coveralls' main role is usually to avoid workers' skin being impacted by unwanted chemicals and dust. The skin is a route of entry for many harmful substances to impact the body, and when all other controls have been exhausted or are simply not possible, the last line of defence in the hierarchy of controls could be a PPE coverall. We must be sure coveralls are fit for purpose, with the right level of protection provided, robust enough to resist things like scrapes and tears and fit suitably to avoid loose-fitting garments increasing danger by potentially getting caught in machinery. If your workplace uses coveralls, or you are considering undertaking work that might require coverall protection, these two episodes will ‘cover all' you need to know to make sure you make the right choices when selecting and using PPE coveralls.

Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner and welcome to episode #255 of Succotash, formerly Succotash Shut-In, formerly Succotash The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, formerly Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. Now in our 5th season and 10th year. Last week in Epi254, original show host and my every-other-week co-host Marc Hershon brought you a quartet of clips from the soundcasts Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast, The Amazing Nerd Show, I Shake My Head, and Who’s Right?. That show is still available wherever you listen to soundcasts…or "podcasts" as many people still refer to them as. Of course you can also listen to the archived version of the show at our homesite www.Succotashshow.com. This week I'm bringing you some clips as well. I'm still looking around for guests and I do have a couple lined up but that's for a future "chats" episode and since you are here with me now and I've got clips for you then this will be a clips show. This episode's clips are from the soundcasts Childlike At Best with Mike Valdes, Shut Up, I Love It, and Distractible. I've also got an advertisement from Succotash's longtime sponsor Henderson's Pants for their new CoverAlls for you that is specific to "this time of year"…whatever THAT means. (I do realize that it makes no sense to say "whatever THAT means" in this context due to the fact that it would be a ridiculous thing to suggest that I didn't know EXACTLY what I meant when I said that. The particular "that" being the "THAT" in "whatever THAT means". Please take note of the quotation marks you can't see me using if you aren't reading this.) Tally-Ho! CLIPS Childlike At Best with Mike Valdes Every week your favorite grown up kid, Mike Valdes, chats with his favorite people about adolescence. Listen as they dive into a cereal bowl full of nostalgia, funny stories & more! Our featured clip from Mike's April 26th, 2021, episode, in which he chatted with Josh Sneed (DryBar Comedy, Comedy Central) about growing up in Cincinnati, getting booed at a baseball game, & learning that you're never too old to have an all-out Nerf war at work. Their featured cereal for the episode was Kellogg's Little Debbie: Oatmeal Creme Pies cereal! Shut Up I Love It Comedy writers Sasha Feiler and Joe Cabello host Shut Up I Love It, a comedy soundcast that celebrates the aspects of life that make you go "Ooh!" and others go "Yuck!". Our clip is from the May 9th, 2021, episode featuring guest Erika Curry, a writer/performer and co-host of the Trashy Trashy Podcast. She's also a big fan of a classic cult film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) starring the drop-dead-gorgeous Denise Richards, Allison Janney, Amy Adams, Brittany Murphy and a couple of Kirstens. Distractible The Distractible podcast with Mark Fischbach, Wade Barnes, and Bob Muyskens is a space to have thoughtful discussions about funny, out there, or otherwise interesting stories from everyday life. Also an opportunity for three friends to remind each other they are not as smart as they think. The featured clip is from the spisode that dropped May 17th, 2021 entitled "Hair", wherein the guys discuss all things hair (and the lack there of)! They warn of the dangers of hair removal, explore the strange hair trends of ancient Greek statues, and discuss sci-fi scenarios where the elite harvest hair and organs from the less fortunate. I chose this clip because…Teratoma… And that's all the content I have for you this week. I do hope you enjoy what you hear, and maybe now you'll have an idea for what to listen to next…Maybe you had that already…maybe you were going to listen to one of our past episodes next? It's possible. As I said before, you can find the show archive at SuccotashShow.com (and we do have easily a few hundred other soundcasts that we've featured over the years as possible future listening for you to pass the time with. There's so many more soundcasts out there now than there were when Succotash started...and not everyone is still around…but their archives usually are…often on Google podcasts, iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Podbay, IheartRadio, just to name a few…and you should look into them if you are interested enough to do so. Thank you for spending time with us, and if you wouldn't mind terribly, could you tell people about us? It's what we mean when we ask you to please pass the Succotash… — Tyson Saner
