#138How do you take a unit plan and translate that into daily lessons? Today's episode is a Leveling Up episode, where I coach Liz, a Spanish teacher in the Northeast of the US. Translating a unit plan into daily lessons is the area where wants to level up her teaching practice. Suggestions:Take more general Can Do Statements and make them more specific. This will help to eliminate the overwhelm of too much content to cover in any given unit. Create several units on a similar theme, but change out the contentDivide the unit objectives into smaller, manageable learning targets that can be covered in daily lessons.Plan backwards by day, with each day building on a previous materialDevelop a consistent daily lesson structure that includes warm-ups, instruction, practice activities and be sure to add in the fun.Ensure that the content of each daily lesson directly aligns with the Can Do Statements and language proficiency standards.Action Plan:This Week:Take an existing set of Can Do Statements and make them more specific. The Coming Weeks:As you plan each daily lesson, ensure that the instructional content directly relates to the unit's overall goals and language proficiency standards. Eliminate any activities or materials that do not align.Resources:Can Do StatementsPodcast Episode #18: Make Your Can Do Statements CommunicativeBlog Post: Make Sure “I Can” Statements Are CommunicativeBackwards DesignPodcast Episode # 56: Backwards Design and PlanningBlog Post: World Language Lesson Planning with Backwards DesignJoin Joshua for a Leveling Up Coaching Episode on the podcast. Would you like to be more in control of your thoughts and your life? Would you like to feel happier and healthier and know you are on a path of healing? Lisa continues the conversation today with chiropractor and holistic physician Dr. Darren Weissman. Dr Darren believes that if we can have rapport with our subconscious mind, we can drive it, rather than being driven by it. We can create “mind-medicine” through our thoughts. We can go beyond everyday perception. He explains how the brain and the body don't know the difference between memory, reality, or imagination. So, if you imagine yourself living the life of your dreams, you can begin to shift your reality. This opens a doorway, a portal, that allows us to trigger the reactive mind where it no longer reacts. We change the pattern. Dr. Darren is the creator of The Lifeline Technique, which incorporates 16 various modalities of healing including Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, applied kinesiology, and so much more. Through his profound understanding of various methods, he deeply explains the language and the steps of healing. It's a way to interpret the subconscious mind. Ultimately, we are all asked to take responsibility for our healing. He suggests we rest, eat well, drink water, exercise, and be responsible for doing these healthy acts. He explains how the body innately has the capacity to heal itself. The subconscious mind is energy. Thoughts are energy. The conscious mind is the active mind. The subconscious is the re-active mind. It is a “copy” and its role is to protect in the present moment. When it gets triggered, the subconscious mind is activated. Emotions play a key role. Dr. Darren further explains his work with Dr. Masaru Emoto and the influence of emotions over water, and therefore our health. Dr Darren talks about the Philosophy of The Lifeline Technique and shares how “every problem is a portal to the next greatest version of yourself!” Dormant greatness lies within us all. Through healing, we have an opportunity to awaken. Our very nature is one of healing. Your choice is how to react and respond. He reminds us that we all have the ability to respond with Infinite Love and Gratitude. We can change the patterns which trigger us. Acceptance, forgiveness, and compassion can begin to happen. We can remember the love which we are here to be. With best-selling books such as “The Power of Infinite Love & Gratitude,” “Awakening to the Secret Code of Your Mind,” “The Heart of the Matter,” and his children's book, “The Daily Lessons of Infinite Love & Gratitude,” Dr. Darren's insightful writings have touched the lives of many seeking personal growth and healing. His contributions can also be found in Dr. Masaru Emoto's best-selling book, “The Healing Power of Water.” In addition to his written works, Dr. Darren has appeared in films such as "E-Motion," "Making Mankind," "Beyond Belief," and the award-winning documentary "HEAL." Through coaching, online courses, and certifications, Dr. Darren equips others with the tools and knowledge to facilitate profound shifts and lasting healing. With his expertise, guidance, and compassionate approach, he empowers individuals to embrace their true potential to awaken the dormant greatness within. This is Part 2 of the interview. Are you struggling with unhealthy habits? Do you feel like your life is often chaotic? Do you feel like you are heading toward the point of no return? Our guest today offers empowering advice to feel better and more in control. Chiropractic and holistic physician Dr. Darren Weissman helps people remember what we've been “programmed,” unconsciously, to forget. Dr. Darren is a visionary thinker and leading expert in consciousness. He is a world-renowned healer who developed the Lifeline Technique and can help us all uncover the unconscious patterns which may be running our lives. On one level, the subconscious mind controls our beating hearts, the blinking of our eyes, and the protective patterns that keep our systems working. The subconscious mind protects us in the moment, but sometimes we get stuck in past negative emotions and feelings, which may result in health challenges and crises. Dr. Darren has developed the Lifelife Technique flow chart that shows how systems work together including Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, applied kinesiology, color and sound therapy, and various healing modalities. He has taught this healing method throughout the world to thousands of people. When memories are triggered, we don't even realize that it's a memory. Our systems keep track of these things, but the brain and the body don't realize that it is just a memory. They think it's real. Our bodies are naturally designed to heal, but why are we sometimes anxious, depressed, or sick? It may be because you are being driven by your much younger self, where pain may be stuck. Dr. Darren explains how we can bridge the gap between the conscious and unconscious mind. The more disconnected you feel, the bigger the sign that you must “Wake Up.” Any trauma can be processed if we are open to it. It can be a doorway, and it's a step-by-step process using new integration of numerous modalities. This can change and activate the neuroplasticity and epigenetics of a person. All the types of holistic healing and science can come together, and Lifeline utilizes 16 different techniques running at the same time. We all have the ability to respond with Infinite Love and Gratitude! I help people to find their purpose, build confidence in themselves and realize their true potential. Check out my free training: https://www.thinkernick.com/training If you think someones else think's you are smart, you will allow yourself to feel smart. But if you think someone else thinks your weak, you allow yourself to feel weak. We let what we think other people think of us, define the choices that we make on a daily basis. Criticize - Critics are always super judgemental and will find something wrong with everyone they come accross. It challenges our sense of value which in turn, makes us feel insecure and not worthy. It implies judgement which creates anger and defensiveness. Compare - Competitors are always complaining and trying to compare themselves with other people. They are always focusing on other people which puts focus on the wrong person when rather they should be looking inward at themselves. Comparing is energy sapping and leads to low self esteem. Complain - Nothing will ever be right or good enough for them. They are always looking for reasons to find something wrong with anything. Complaining increases your level of cortisol which in turn leads to stress. Studies have shown for it to even cause damage to the brain. Below are some tips to help you with low self esteem: Write a list of things you admire about yourself - It can be hard, but sit down and think about what good traits you have. Acknowledging your skills and likable traits can improve self-talk. Buy a journal and use it to reflect. Stop being a people pleaser - People who have low self esteem try to please other people. They put others first before prioritizing their own mental health. These people are easily overwhealmed and it causes stress. Be kind and help others but put yourself first! Step outside your comfort zone - Low self-esteem causes us to go back into our shells and avoid challenges and opportunities. Try something new, even if it may be difficult at first. By succeeding in something small, it can have a major boost of overall self-esteem and confidence. Forgive yourself for any past thoughts - Your self-worth and the progress you make in life should not be connected to other people. It's not easy at first, but staying away from social media is a massive step in the right direction. Remember people only share the best moments of their lives on social media. Detox and forgive yourself. Noone is perfect. Celebrate your wins - Any win is a victory, no matter how small. Acknowledge those feelings or achievement and pride and, embrace them. This helps to grow self confidence and belief in oneself and in turn, improve self-esteem. Let go of negative or toxic people - Holding onto toxic relationships prevents personal growth. Regret is associated with guilt and shame. All of which spark negativity. Learn to let go of the things in your past. This is your life and it is playing out exactly how it is meant to be. Surround yourself with positive people - Build relationships with people around you who share the same ideas, goals and ambitions as you. Find people who are positive and appreciate you for who you are. Take care of your body - Start exercising more regularly or try a new sport. Go for long walks and reflect on your wins. Start meditating and writing a journal. Sign up to a yoga class or start stretching. Fill your body with healthy foods and nutrients. Find a healthy routine that works for you and stick to it. Use these tips to better yourself mentally and physically and watch your self-esteem flourish and improve your life. Negativity is contagious. Stay away from it! Hang in there, you're not alone. I help people to find their purpose, build confidence in themselves and realize their true potential. Check out my free training: https://www.thinkernick.com/training Are you suffering with regret? Are you constantly thinking about something you did in the past and you just can't forgive youself? Here are some steps that have worked for me. Tips for coping with regret: 1)Practice Self Acceptance - Accept what you are feeling because everyone makes mistakes. Your value isn't defined by your mistakes and failures. 2)Forgive Yourself - This was the hardest part for me. Beating yourself up with guilt, fear, anxiety and shame sparks more neagativity in your life. Let go of anger, resentment, dissapointment as these cause us more pain and suffering. Practice self compassion and don't punish yourself. Be kind to yourself but also take responsibiity for your actions. 3)Apologize Forgive yourself but it's also helpful to apologize to other people if they were involved in the regret. A sincere apology show others that you feel remorse and that you empathize with them. 4)Take Action - Use those experiences to fuel future action. Consider what you would change and do differently. It's important to note that what is in the past cannot be changed, but you can reframe it and learn from it to make better choices in the future. Past event don't determine your future. Past mistakes make us who we are today.

I help people to find their purpose, build confidence in themselves and realize their true potential. Check out my free training: https://www.thinkernick.com/training 1.) Narcissist - You can be considered a narcissist if you often wear clothes that are brighter and also wear more accessories. Narcissists do this consciously or unconsciously in order to project their appearance motives. 2.) Actions & Movements - People tend to lean towards people they like and lean away from people they don't like. People leaning in, with hands out and open and palms facing up, it shows they are connecting with you in some way. However if they are hiding their hands, it could mean they are hiding something. Crossing arms or legs is considered a position of anger, defensiveness or self-protection. Lip biting or cuticle picking could show that someone is trying to soothe themselves in an awkward situation. 3.) Shoes - Your Shoe choice can be an indicator of your personality. People with comfortable shoes tend to be more agreeable and people with uncomfortable shoes, more calm. If you wear Ankle shoes you are considered aggressive and if you wear well maintained shoes you are considered anxious or clingy. 4.) Smile - If you are extroverted you smile naturally while introverted people smile more to maintain a happy look in public. You can also usually gauge this by someone's body language when they smile. 5.) Walking Style - If you walk with your weight forward and quickly, you are considered to be logical and organised whereas if you walk with your shoulders pulled back and your head held high, you are considered charismatic and socially adept. (Also might love the spotlight!) If you are light on your toes, you are often considered an introvert or polite. 6.) Eating Style - If you eat fast, you are likely ambitious, open to try new things, goal-oriented and possibly impatient whereas Slow eaters show they are in control and appreciate life. Adventurous eaters will step out of their comfort zones while picky eaters are difficult to please. 7.) Intelligence - For men, longer shaped faces, big nose and distance between the eyes means you are smarter as opposed to broader rounder faces with a small nose and gap between the eyes. You cannot tell a woman's intelligence by looking at her. 8.) Posture - People who hold their head high are generally more confident and if they are indecisive or cower when walking, they might have low self-esteem. 9.) Selfies - It might seem desperate or a need for attention but If you happen to look more positive in a selfie, you are potentially open to more experiences. 10.) Leadership - The best leaders will display their characters transparently for everyone to see. Leaders will expose their values, beliefs, morals and convictions clearly in public. Leaders have integrity and do not question their character. Use T.I.M.E every monring when you get out of bed and watch you life change! DO NOT SNOOZE! - It causes fragmented sleep because the extra 15 minutes or sleep time you are getting is not productive sleep. This usually leads to you feeling tired and foggy! I use a principle called T.I.M.E. 1.)THANKFUL- Find 5 things to be greatful for everyday. Write them down and say them out loud. Be thankful for opportunities in your life whether it be for loved ones, gifts, friends, nature, lessons, food, shelter or health. Gratitude improves one's outlook on life. 2.) INSPIRATION- Find inspiration in something everyday. Listen to a podcast, red a book, review your journal to remind you of the lessons you have learned or volenteer. Inspiration shows us new opportunities and allows us to exceed our normal limitations and experiences. 3.)MEDITATION- Use meditation to reflect on you life. Sit in a qu iet space or lie down. Close your eyes and breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and breathe out for 4 seconds. Make sure you breathe into your stomach and lungs. Repeat this action while breathing in positive energy and thoughts and breathing out the negative enegery and thoughts until you feel at peace. Meditation brings calm and balance into one's life. 4.)EXERCISE- Whatever exercise you prefer to do, just get after it! This will get those endorphins going and set the rest of your day up for success. TIP: Make sure to get at least 7–8 hours of sleep everynight. TRY IT FOR A WEEK AND WATCH YOUR LIFE CHANGE!

Although we talk about some silly things in the beginning this episode also deals with true life emotions. For example, thinking you might have made it out of a situation ok only to discover many times that you still have a pretty long way to go to dig your way out of that hole. Many more hours need to be poured into changing and rewriting what might have looked easy but actually needs a few more edits. PK has a certain way of looking at situations nowadays that just a few years ago would have crushed him or taken him to a dark place. He helps paint you pictures with BK on how he tries to change his day by looking at life in a more open, honest and positive way now. This episode might be serious in the way PK talks about his struggles but he is always trying to use fun analogies to help listeners understand that though life is tough we can still go through it all with a smile and laugh. We shouldn't take ourselves too seriously because that makes it hard to work on ourselves. One thing that really stands out in B&B, thanks to PK following a man named Gary Vaynerchuk(better known as Garyvee), is PK is truly seeing how gratitude in life not only helps him but those around him… and realizing that those around him may be having a much worse day.Garyvee's YouTube channel… it's worth spending some time on!https://www.youtube.com/c/garyvee0:00 Welcome to B&B5:30 You have lots to do…10:30 I get down on myself18:55 If I snap at you… not good29:20 Drink that post workout smoothie at a park35:50 That little bit of Gratitude44:30 Multiple messages of love50:00 Once again I messed up55:30 B&B's new motto#weeklypodcast #podcastshow #humpday #backyards #bevvies #bottomsup #midweektreat #BTG #marriage #comedy #parenting #life #drama #interview #friendsPodcast https://backyardsandbevvies.simplecast.com/YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/c/BackyardsBevviesPodcastInstagram https://instagram.com/backyardsbevviesFacebook https://www.facebook.com/backyardsbevviesTwitter https://twitter.com/backyardbevviesTikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@backyardsandbevvies?lang=enPatreon https://www.patreon.com/backyardsbevvies

The biggest lesson from the Middle East is that we must get our lives together and follow God. Judgment is coming, we must prepare ourselves.
God's faithfulness is everlasting, and His promises endure to this day.
Despite political claims to the contrary, Jewish people have a long history in the land of Israel. Israel existed in the past, and for prophecy to be fulfilled they must exist in the future.
The Middle East in general, and Israel specifically are an integral part of the biblical story.
