What happens when you take the tarot apart—piece by piece—to see what it's really made of? In this lively and thought-provoking conversation, host Cyndera Quackenbush sits down with artist, author, and tarot creator Jennifer Cooper Steidley to explore her innovative deck, Tarot Disassembled, and its companion guidebook. Born from an unexpected moment of inspiration (watching her young son take apart a sandwich!), Jennifer began to imagine what it would mean to “disassemble” the tarot—to pull apart its imagery and look closely at the symbols that make up each archetype. The result is a bold, colorful, and refreshingly playful deck that invites readers to reconnect with tarot through the pure language of symbolism. Together, Cyndera and Jennifer dive into: ✨ The origin story behind Tarot Disassembled and its Kickstarter beginnings ✨ How removing human figures opens the door to a more universal, bias-free tarot experience ✨ The joy of rediscovering details hidden in the Rider-Waite-Smith imagery (yes—even the tiny eagle on the Fool's satchel!) ✨ How “disassembling” tarot mirrors our own life process—taking things apart to understand, re-evaluate, and rebuild ✨ Ways to use this deck in tandem with traditional ones to deepen intuition and symbolic literacy Their conversation unfolds like a creative workshop and a spiritual reflection all at once—touching on archetypes, imagination, and the art of seeing with fresh eyes. Cyndera connects the process to her own Story Through Stone deck, where ancient stone imagery becomes a mirror for intuition. By the end, listeners are reminded that tarot—like life itself—is an ongoing process of discovery: a dance between taking things apart and bringing them beautifully back together. Artist and tarot creator Jennifer Steidley has always been fluent in the language of symbols. With a background in graphic design and a deep love of intuitive storytelling, she brings a playful, insightful touch to her creations—including her innovative deck, Tarot Disassembled. Do you take things apart to see how they work? Do you wonder what the symbols on a tarot deck mean? The Tarot Disassembled deck and book by Jennifer Cooper Steidley, helps you do both! And she joins me to talk about the deck and how the idea to deconstruct the images of tarot to go behind the scenes of what we usually see on a card for deeper meanings and inspiration. Whether starting your journey on tarot or a seasoned reader, this deck has something for everyone. "It's such a multi-layerd system, that there is so many different ways and depths you can get into to read. And this is one little offshoot." The book and deck are sold separately and available from Weiser Books website, your local book shop, or online book seller. The indie version is still available on her website/ Etsy shop. Jennifer Cooper Steidley is a graphic designer by day and a tarot deck collector, creator, and enthusiast at all other times. Also available from Jennifer are the Tarot Assembled and Symdala Tarot. See her website for more about her and to order. Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin are taking another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse as the MCU dives deeper into their Multiverse Saga. Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and they just spent 2023 covering the first phase of Netflix's The Defenders Saga and the first four seasons of ABC's Agents of SHIELD. This year, they journeyed into Fox's X-Verse with their X-Treme X-Watch. Now they are back with their Defenders Disassembled miniseries, where they take a tour through all the final seasons of every Marvel Netflix series as they get ready for the triumphant return of Matt, Karen, Foggy, and Frank in Daredevil: Born Again this spring. First, Bill & Alex were inspired by the recent news that Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell will be returning to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday to give their Top 5 dead or retired Avengers that they most want to see return for the Avengers sequel coming in 2026. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the third and final season of Marvel's Jessica Jones. They catch you up on what you may have missed from season two of the series, before diving into whether Jessica Jones vs a Serial Killer felt like a fresh take on Jones' neo-noir roots or a last ditch effort to recapture the magic of season one. Watch along with us! Next episode's titles are Echo and Agatha All Along (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode this January.
"Well, isn't that a pretty picture, Santa rolling down the block in a panzer! First, Bill & Alex won't be doing a proper MCU check in episode until January, when they review Echo and Agatha All Along after they've wrapped up their Defenders coverage, but, recently Marvel Studios released a full rundown of everything to expect from Marvel on Disney Plus in 2025 and released a few new film trailers at their D23 event in Brazil. The 2025 slate of projects include three animated series, three live action series, and, over on the big screen, three feature films, for a total of nine Marvel projects over the next twelve months, and Bill & Alex decided to rank how hyped they are for each. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the third and final season of Marvel's Daredevil. The season pays off the cliffhanger that ended The Defenders, answering the question just how Matt survived an entire skyscraper falling on him and only to wake up being tended to by nuns. It also brings back Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk and sets up a showdown between Matt and a new foe with killer aim who may or may not be the comic character known as Bullseye. Watch along with us! Next episode's title is Jessica Jones S3 (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode later this December.
"Death has come to your little town, Sheriff." - Dr. Loomis For our very first "Disassembled" Double Feature, Zack and Erik are joined once again by Stephen White from Horror Ramblings to talk about some creepy movies for spooky season... that's right, we're finally watching "Halloween"! First, a new MCU show is here! Agatha All Along is out and blowing up Disney Plus. Alex & Bill will give you their customary season rewatch treatment of the show in a few months, along with a look back at Echo, but, with this being the tenth Marvel Studio's TV series of the Disney Plus era, the guys thought it might be fun to take a quick tour through the last three and a half years by ranking every Disney Plus MCU series so far. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the surprisingly improved second and final season of Iron Fist, wherein even Danny Rand slowly comes to realize he kind of sucks and Jessica Henwick's Colleen Wing is the true star and we meet yet another Marvel TV Ward. Watch along with us! Next episode's title is Daredevil S3 (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode later this month.

First, check out Bill's walk through of everything he experienced at Avengers Campus during his Disneyland trip. Then, stick around for an in depth discussion of the criminally underrated second and, sadly, final season of Luke Cage, wherein Luke's morality is tested as his personal relationships feel the strain of his vigilante life and Harlem is overrun by a bitter family feud between Alfre Woodard's Mariah Stokes Dillion and Bushmaster, the leader of a Jamaican crime family.
