In this episode, we welcome Kent and Gina Murawski, a dynamic couple with a rich history in both ministry and business. Having led Journey Church in Cambridge, MA, for over a decade, Kent now coaches high-achieving leaders while Gina works as a holistic nutritionist. Together, they share their journey of balancing leadership, family, and personal well-being—offering insights on overcoming burnout, managing expectations, and living intentionally. Kent and Gina open up about the pressures they faced in ministry, the weight of unspoken expectations, and the personal toll of trying to meet everyone's needs. From Kent's early burnout experience to Gina's struggle with people-pleasing, they reveal the challenges they encountered and the strategies they now use to help others avoid the same pitfalls. Through their Rhythms of Rest framework, they provide practical steps to help entrepreneurs and leaders prevent burnout and create a sustainable life plan. If you're a married entrepreneur striving to succeed in business without sacrificing your family or well-being, this episode is packed with wisdom on setting boundaries, embracing self-awareness, and making space for true rest. Learn how to align your business, marriage, and personal life for long-term success. Resources Mentioned: Rest Assured by Kent Murawski https://kentmurawski.com/rest-assured  The Purpose & Clarity Guide (Available at KentMurawski.com) Kent's upcoming book The Life Plan (Sign up for updates at KentMurawski.com/catalyst)  Key Takeaways: The Weight of Expectations Can Lead to Burnout – Whether from others or self-imposed, unrealistic expectations can create unhealthy stress and exhaustion. Learning to set boundaries and say "no" is crucial. Rest and Intentional Living Are Non-Negotiables – The Rhythms of Rest framework (relational, emotional, spiritual, and tangible rhythms) helps leaders build a sustainable life plan that prioritizes well-being. Marriage Requires Communication and Growth – Differences in personalities and leadership styles can cause tension, but they can also be strengths. Learning to communicate openly and embrace each other's strengths leads to a healthier partnership. Prioritizing Rest is a Radical Act of Faith – Taking a 24-hour Sabbath from work and technology can transform your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, leading to greater productivity and peace. Self-Awareness is Key to Long-Term Success – Understanding personal limits, values, and strengths allows leaders to build a business and marriage that thrive together rather than compete.  Share this episode with another married entrepreneur who needs to hear this message! Stay tuned for more strategies to thrive in both business and marriage. Biography Kent and Gina Murawski are living proof that the best partnerships start with a head-over-heels moment. Nearly 25 years ago, Gina took one look at Kent and decided he was the one (at least according to Kent's version of the story).  Together, they've built a family and a legacy of service, having planted and led Journey Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts from 2009 to 2023. While Kent coaches high-achieving leaders and writes books in his signature uniform of plain tees and dark jeans, Gina transforms lives as a certified holistic nutritionist and supplements specialist. Her journey with celiac disease sparked a passion for helping others navigate life without gluten, all while sporting her distinctive boho style and newest coffee mug acquisition (yes, the collection is still growing). Parents to three kids aged 21, 18, and 12, they're “experts” at navigating both family dynamics and professional transitions. Their household remains stubbornly pet-free—not because they don't love animals, but because Kent (who works from home) knows exactly who would end up being the full-time dog walker. As he puts it, "you can have all the pets you want when you have your own house!”  These days, you'll find them walking side by side in life and business, sharing their complementary wisdom about sustainable success, holistic wellness, and authentic leadership—always with a cup of coffee in hand. While working hard is often celebrated, they uncover how excessive stress, burnout, and overworking can silently deteriorate your health, relationships, and overall well-being. They discuss research-backed insights on how long hours correlate with increased risks of stroke, heart disease, depression, and even cancer. The conversation highlights the warning signs of stress-related health issues, how they often go unnoticed until it's too late, and why managing stress is critical for longevity in both business and marriage. They also break down the importance of daily habits that promote better health—such as sleep, nutrition, and intentional rest—and how the A.D.E. method (Automate, Delegate, Eliminate) can help entrepreneurs work smarter, not harder. This episode is a must-listen for married entrepreneurs who feel the pressure of balancing business success with personal well-being. Robert and Kay Lee provide practical strategies to reclaim time, prioritize health, and prevent burnout, ensuring you can thrive in both your business and your marriage for years to come. Key Takeaways: ✅ Hustle culture has serious health risks – Stress, burnout, and overwork contribute to heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even early death. ✅ Success isn't tied to working more hours – Research shows no direct correlation between hours worked and financial success, but there is a strong link between overworking and declining health. ✅ Burnout is a medical condition – The World Health Organization classifies burnout as a workplace phenomenon with real physical and mental consequences. ✅ Women entrepreneurs face added stress – Juggling business, home responsibilities, and family increases burnout risks for women more than men. ✅ Better daily habits lead to better health – Small adjustments like morning routines, healthy eating, and better sleep can drastically improve well-being. ✅ Work smarter, not harder – The ADE Method (Automate, Delegate, Eliminate) helps entrepreneurs reduce workload without sacrificing success.

The word compromise means “accepting a standard lower than is desirable.” Is that what you want for your marriage? I would think not but that is how many deal with disagreements.  When we compromise in a disagreement, each side gives up something they want and we agree on something we can both agree upon even if it's not the best. So how do you get past disagreements if you don't compromise? Come up with a better solution than either of you came into the argument with.  The choices shouldn't just be yours and hers/his. “Doing the right thing is inconvenient.” That was a powerful quote from this week's guest Bob Beaudine. Prioritizing your family over your career or business is one of the hardest things to do for high achievers. It is possible to do it successfully but it doesn't come easy. You have to make hard choices that are not convenient.  Bob had one of the top executive search firms for professional sports. In fact, he basically created the niche when no one was doing it. As a result, he's placed in some of the positions in professional sports like Bud Selig, former commissioner of MLB, as well as head coaches, and presidents of NFL, NBA, and NHL teams.  You can probably understand why Sports Illustrated nominated him as “The most influential man in sports you've never heard of.” His work helped transform leagues and teams with the people he placed in them.  Listen to this week's episode as Bob shares how he was able to balance marriage, family, and the busy life he led in professional sports.  Website: https://www.bobbeaudine.com/  Books: 2 Chairs USA Today and Publishers Weekly best seller The Power of Who  Want to live a better balanced life and win in marriage AND business at the same time? Entrepreneurs have an independent streak for sure. I have it, you have it, we all have it. It's why we can't see ourselves in a 9 to 5 job. It's why we're so successful in what we do. We take the bull by the horn and make it happen.  But independence can have an ugly side to it. It can cause us to become a little arrogant, isolated, and hurt our most important relationships. Meet this week's guest Stu Fuhlendorf and his wife Trish. Stu took three companies IPO, made tons of money and was a wall street darling. Until ego, alcohol, and the love of success got the better of him. It almost landed him in jail. Thankfully, there is a happy ending to this that you'll have to listen for yourself.  Website: www.redemptionhills.com Business: www.lifeverse.com Book: “Wall Street to Well” https://www.amazon.com/Wall-Street-Well-Transformation-Fortune/dp/1949021432 Key Takeaways: Stu wasn't driven by money and things but by accomplishments The accomplishments were great but fleeting Turned to alcohol which made him angry Guided 3 companies through successful IPOs Faced a lawsuit from the S.E.C.  Trish had to lean on her faith and prayer to stay married She put her happiness on the shelf Instead of arguing she chose silence Questions: Why were you such a jerk? Trish, I know you got saved first and that was a big part of the reason you stuck it out with Stu, but many good Christian women would have still left, how were you able to stick it out? I'm sure you tried to get him to quit drinking and change the way he was living, did you just give up trying to convince him at some point? While not going to the extremes you did, many entrepreneurs have the same mentality you had. What would you say to them? Pastors can fall into much of the same trap that you did in your career, what do you say to them? Stu serves as the Senior Pastor of Redemption Hills Church in Littleton Colorado and is the Cofounder and COO of Lifeverse.  His first book, Wall Street to the Well, was released April 2019.  After working in corporate business for twenty years, he earned an M.Div. from Denver Seminary and was called into full-time ministry combining his love of Jesus with 21st century technology.  Stu lives in the foothills of Colorado with his wife, Trish.  They have two grown children who divide their time between school, work, and fun.
