The cold weather in Texas has been all over the news the last two weeks. This week, Maria talks to someone on the ground and is dealing with it first hand... lifestyle blogger, Danielle Price. After graduating from film school at the University of Southern California in 2014, Danielle worked at a content creation focused ad agency & house of lifestyle magazines in Los Angeles. Danielle quit her job and put her whole life into a storage unit in January 2020 (great timing!) to take the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in the South of France where she planned to learn to cook from the chef/owner of a bed & breakfast in Provence in exchange for overhauling the social media of the business. However, the pandemic struck and she unexpectedly ended up back in her childhood bedroom in the middle of the West Texas desert instead. While spending 2020 soaking up precious time with her parents, Danielle dove into writing and creating social media videos for She’s Fun, her lifestyle blog for all things feminine & fun. She continues to help small businesses with unique content creation and branding. We hear it all the time...running is a great way to clear your mind, or it's perfect to settle down after a long day of work. But, what if it isn't? What if running is causing your brain to work overtime and it takes your mind to the negative side of things? It's called runner's fatigue and a lot of people go through it. Everyone from professional runners to any of us going out for an afternoon run can experience this. Runner's World Health and Fitness Editor Danielle Zickl opened up about her experience with it for a recent edition of the publication. She talked about constantly comparing herself to coworkers and friends who were seemingly making better gains than she was. Those constant comparisons, and other factors, caused her to abandon running for a while so she could clear her head and find a way back into the sport. I've been through similar situations over the years, so I was very excited to speak with Danielle about her experience. I hope you're able to pull some inspiration from our conversation to help you battle through the tough days to find better ones. Read Danielle's article for Runner's World, "https://www.runnersworld.com/runners-stories/a33313107/why-i-took-a-break-from-running/ (Why I Got Burnt Out From running and How I'm Learning to Love It Again)." “You came up with my new brandname, The Written Legacy Coach, I will forever be grateful to you for that. And we did that in the first hour.” When Danielle came to me, she was getting lots of interest but not converting clients, she was hiding behind her previous “corporate” brand, and she was working late into the evenings. (Her husband was not happy about this) After a 6 hour VIP Day with me, she is 5 for 5 on her most recent sales calls, people are literally *clamoring* to get on the phone with her, and she has developed a sacred work schedule that honors her business AND her family. That was 4 weeks ago. Now, we are working side by side to develop a custom marketing and fulfillment process that *feels* amazing to Danielle. —> Meaning she is no longer DM'ing every single person who friend requests her (because she can't keep up honestly), exhausting tired marketing techniques that don't allow her to be emotionally present with her family, and undercharging for time-intensive work like editing manuscripts. Oh, and she's sleeping more. “I realized after working with you that I just really need more sleep to be effective for my clients.” It's not just business over here folks. This is about creating the life you want to live. The life you want to be PRESENT for. ^That's the most important part, over wealth creation any day. (But the wealth piece is pretty fun too ) "You provide so much value, so much more than you even tell people. After our VIP Day, I felt *so* light. Like the sun was shining, the air was clear... if anyone is listening who just feels... heavy... that their business is weighing them down and you don't know where to go, Go towards Janelle." Tune into our conversation to hear all about how Danielle converted 2 clients (and has 3 additional follow-ups), how she has created an authentic, relevant brand, and, most exciting, how she actually had time to sit down and binge a favorite tv show by herself Find Danielle here: http://danielleperlingood.com Book a call with Janelle here: https://go.oncehub.com/chatwithJanelle

Find Danielle:https://www.facebook.com/groups/552627471817983About Danielle:I am a resident of the San Lorenzo Valley/Scotts Valley area since 1983. I am biracial Mexican and Japanese, light-skinned presenting, and was often one of the few POC in my classrooms growing up. I note light-skinned because a huge part of my journey is to fully embrace my cultures and overcome the feeling of not belonging. My desire to work for social justice and humanity has been a lifelong dream and led me to teach 17 years ago. I spent 10 years in PVUSD teaching migrant students and more recently moved to the schools that I attended growing up. For anyone who doesn't know, the Valley is a predominantly White community. Racism and White Privilege dominate the communities and do not provide safe spaces for POC or even LGBTQ community members. I currently am the bilingual liaison for the district and work to advocate for all students but especially my POC students and families. In light of recent events this past Spring, it has become more and more apparent that there is much work to do in our community to abolish racism and, take a deeper look at the privileges that White community members are accustomed to. As a Coalition, we mentor High School students and young people who are politically active and organizing open mics and marches to continue to raise awareness only to be met with hate speech and even threats to their person and property. As an educator, I feel it is my duty to ensure better access to the Social Justice curriculum AND Racial Bias Training for all staff members in our schools. For this reason, I have joined and help to admin the SLV/SV Coalition Against Racism where we have teaching resources, discourse, and action events to execute change. Our next course of action is to work with the school districts to create a task force of POC, Parents, and Community Stakeholders who wish to be a part of the conversation about overhauling the curriculum and creating meaningful changes in our community.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/speakforchange/supportSupport the show (Http://Www.patreon.com/speakforchangepodcast)
