Sunfest 2025 is Saturday September 13th at the Beerwah Community Hall. This is a new location closer to public transport. The address is 25 Peachester Rd Beerwah. Here is your chance to grab a bargain, catch-up with folks you haven't seen for a while for an off-air rag chew, or just enjoy the atmosphere. Tickets this year are cheaper than last year at just $5 for general entry and $10 for a traders ticket that includes 1 general admission. There will be raffles and door prizes and a mega auction with some great items on offer. It's Sunday 3rd of August and this is QNEWS from the Darling Downs Radio Club. Hi, I'm John VK4JPM Club Secretary. And... it's been a very exciting week. We will be able to circulate a proposed update to the Club's rules, and get comment ahead of the packet going out; and tidy up some of the documentation. We don't have a locked in date yet for the rescheduled AGM, but holding 2 September. Hello, I'm Geoff Emery, VK4ZPP, and I've been thinking. Just one month to Spring and all the thorough bred horses have had another official birthday so punters check your bets. If you follow the news you at times find gems that show the way forward but they aren't necessarily obvious. During the past week the magical fairy that controls artificial intelligence was caught out. It seems that the AI with the prehistoric name, Groc, made a very obvious mistake in answering a query. The question related to a “who was” question and this dinosaur managed to reverse the birth year and the death years so that the subject would have been a minus quantity, never alive. Lots of people like to be early adopters of technology and trends and that is fine. You can't really come to much harm following fashion trends or decorating with the latest home furnishings. The limit for most of us is the budget. One area that is being increasingly integrated into modern systems is a reliance on AI to complete multitudes of different tasks. Until recently, higher education was trying to solve the issue of students copying material from the internet or having paid writers complete necessary assignments. Today the concern is that AI is fulfilling those tasks and their guarantee that the work submitted reflects any learning and for that matter, whether it has been checked for accuracy against known sources of material. So this might seem the price of innovation but who would want to be taught by a teacher who only knows how to get ChatGPT to do the work? Who would prefer to be treated by a healthcare professional whose CV is littered with anonymous studies done on their laptop? There can be dangers in rushing adoption of new things and the more sophisticated the harder they may be to control. On the other hand, the news was filled by the story of the latest attempted rocket launch from near Bowen. It was almost an anticlimax that the launch took place at all after many events had caused numerous delays previously. The fact that the rocket rose off the launch pad but descended to Earth in under a minute has not been greeted as failure by the company involved. We might remember when the Space-X rockets had multiple failures, their CEO, Elon Musk, also expressed the same sentiment. For those seeking progress it is not the fact that the first or 100 th attempt was not successful but the lessons to be learned to progress development are the important factors. When we look back to an inventor and innovator called Thomas Alva Edison, he was known for his process of re-iteration, in proving an idea could be made to work the way he imagined it. I believe we can take these lessons to heart in our own activities. Don't blindly trust all that is new or available on the internet and be prepared to think over what stopped our last experiment from succeeding. I'm Geoff Emery, VK4ZPP, and that's what I think, how about you?

GreenRoc's Amitsoq Graphite Project in Greenland has been designated as a "Strategic Project" under the European Union's Critical Raw Materials Act. This recognition not only underscores the project's importance in supplying critical raw materials for Europe's green energy, technology, and defense sectors but also positions it as the first—and currently only—minerals project in Greenland to receive such status. Stefan shares insights into what this designation means for GreenRoc and its shareholders, the potential benefits like priority permitting and financial support, and how Amitsoq fits into the EU's broader strategy for securing essential raw materials. Tune in to learn more about this development and its implications for the future of critical mineral supply chains in Europe. For the electric vehicle enthusiasts and AI aficionados, prepare to be electrified. Our guest, Farzad Mesbahi, a former Tesla employee turned EV content creator, unravels the complex tale of the electric vehicle's journey. From a scorned alternative to prevailing gas cars, to emerging as a potentially superior choice, Farzad connects the dots with unflappable expertise. He further dissects the supply chain hitches tormenting traditional car manufacturers in their transition to EV production. Ever wondered why legacy automakers are fixated on hybrid models over fully electric ones? We navigate this intriguing terrain, weighing the profitability scales and the daunting challenges of this transition. As we debunk common misconceptions about EVs - goodbye range anxiety - we also contemplate the influence of government incentives and the evolving consumer preferences in shaping the EV adoption rates. Shifting gears, we plunge into the drama surrounding OpenAI's alliance with Microsoft, and the potential implications this holds for the future of AI. As we approach the finish line, we take a moment to reflect upon the societal implications of AI, and the ever so intricate balance between innovation and safety in government regulation. Farzad enlightens us on the crucial role of data and compute power in AI development, and teases out the prowess of GROC and GPT-4. Join us on this electrifying journey through the landscapes of EVs and AI, and immerse yourself in the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.ANTICIPATE STOCK MARKET CRASHES, CORRECTIONS, AND BEAR MARKETS WITH AWARD WINNING RESEARCH.

Kirk Adams CEO of GreenRoc Mining #GROC explains the significance in the appointments of two highly experienced independent consulting firms to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment and a Social Impact Assessment at its Thule Black Sands Ilmenite Project in north-west Greenland. GreenRoc Mining plc (AIM: GROC), a company focused on the development of critical mineral projects in Greenland, is pleased to announce that it has appointed two highly experienced independent consulting firms to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment ('EIA') and a Social Impact Assessment ('SIA') at its Thule Black Sands Ilmenite Project in north-west Greenland ('TBS' or the 'Project').  BioApp Greenland, a Danish/Greenlandic-based contractor and environmental expert with extensive operational experience in Greenland, will be responsible for completing an EIA in compliance with the requirements of the Greenlandic authorities. An EIA is an environmental decision support tool to the authorities who issue licences for mining development projects. The EIA provides information on the possible impacts of mining development projects on the environment and proposes actions to mitigate impacts as far as practicable. NIRAS A/S ('NIRAS'), a Danish/Greenlandic multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, has been appointed to undertake the SIA. With extensive expertise and operational experience in Greenland, NIRAS is familiar with the requirements of Greenlandic laws, frameworks and guidelines for the SIA. The objective of the SIA is to ensure that a mining development maximises its benefits and minimises its potential negative impacts on society and local communities.  A JORC resource capable of supporting a mining operation, along with the formal approval of an EIA and an SIA, are the necessary precursors to an application for a Mining Licence in Greenland.  TBS currently benefits from a maiden Mineral Resource of 19Mt with an in-situ ilmenite grade of 8.9% and awaits the assessment by mineral sands experts IHC Mining of the 249-hole follow-up drilling programme undertaken in the summer of 2021.  These three undertakings will be the key building blocks in fast tracking TBS in the mine development process.

Kirk Adams CEO of GreenRoc Mining #GROC discusses the significant maiden ore resource at the Amitsoq Graphite Project in southern Greenland, one of the highest-grade graphite deposits in the world. Highlights ·      A maiden combined Indicated and Inferred JORC Resource has been defined at Amitsoq of 8.28 million tonnes (Mt) at an average grade of 19.75%, giving a total graphite content of 1.63 Mt. ·      This includes a particularly high-grade contribution from the Lower Graphite Layer of 3.67 Mt at a grade of 21.19%, for 0.775 Mt of contained graphite.   ·      This Maiden Resource confirms Amitsoq's position as one of the highest-grade graphite deposits globally and supports the Company's objective of fast tracking the Project into the development phase.  ·      The total graphite content of 1.63 Mt outlined by the Maiden Resource exceeds the upper end of the tonnage range in the previously declared Amitsoq Exploration Target (which implied between 0.408 to 1.620 Mt of contained graphite from the entire target area). ·      Over 25% of the contained graphite in the Maiden Resource falls within the higher category of Indicated Resources, providing additional confidence that a more significant, high-category Resource can be established following the forthcoming Phase 2 drilling campaign. ·      Planning and procurement for the Phase 2 drilling campaign at Amitsoq is well underway with appointment of contractors due to be finalised this month.  ·      The deposit is open along strike (predominantly to the north) and down dip to the west, and this will be tested in the Phase 2 drilling programme this year. ·      Metallurgical testing confirms that the Amitsoq graphite can be upgraded to a more than 99.95% pure graphite product, which is the specification requirement for EV lithium-ion batteries (the ultra-high growth sector of the graphite market). About GreenRoc GreenRoc Mining Plc is an AIM-quoted company which is developing mining projects in Greenland in critical and high-demand minerals.  Led by a group of highly experienced mining industry professionals, GreenRoc has a portfolio of 100% owned projects: Amitsoq (Graphite); Thule Black Sands (Ilmenite); Melville Bay (Iron Ore); and Inglefield (Multi-Element).
