Beyond The Infinite Two Minutes is a Japanese sci-fi comedy about a café owner named Kato who discovers he can communicate with a version of himself from two minutes in the future through a computer screen. As the film progresses, Kato's interactions with his future self become increasingly complex and lead to some unexpected consequences. This is a low-budget, "one cut" style movie fascinates both Rick and Paul (who has terrible sound quality for some reason). You can watch Chris Ramsay opening puzzle boxes for you here.

Am dritten Tag des Fantasy Filmfest 2021 im Hamburger Savoy Kino wurde es emotional. Wir haben viel gelacht und auch ein paar Tränen vergossen. Nach der #OpenPodcast-Folge direkt nach dem Film nun endlich auch noch ein ausführliches, entspanntes, zum Teil albernes Gespräch mit Michael von Kompendium des Unbehagens, Johannes von der Untersammlung, Daniel vom Altstadtkino und Max von Der Podcast. Ein Monitor, der zwei Minuten in die Zukunft schaut, das ist die erst einmal unspektakulär wirkende SF-Idee von BEYOND THE INFINITE TWO MINUTES von Junta Yamaguchi. Die Theatertruppe um Yamaguchi zaubert aus dem kleinen Budget einen großen Spaß: Die Freunde basteln in einem japanischen Café aus zwei Monitoren einen Zeittunnel, der ihnen erlaubt weiter in der Zukunft zu sehen. Aber was fängt man damit an, dass man in die Zukunft schauen kann? Vielleicht steht der Film etwas im Windschatten von ONE CUT OF THE DEAD, mit dem er nicht ganz mithalten kann. Dazu fasert er im Mittelteil doch etwas aus. Aber rechtzeitig kommt mit neuen Figuren wieder neuer Drive und dann kehrt der Film zu seinem Boy meets Girl-Thema zurück und alles wird gut.
Nippon-Connection-Spezial In großer Runde geht es weiter, mit der Nippon Connection. Diesmal wieder etwas amüsanter, denn wir haben die (in einer Einstellung gedrehte) Komödie "Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes", in der ein Cafebesitzer herausfindet, dass sein Computerbildschirm und sein Fernseher verbunden sind und er in einem davon zwei Minuten in die Zukunft sehen kann. Das endet natürlich in der ein oder anderen kuriosen Situation und Thomas, Robert/Johannes/Michael, Max (der den Film nicht gesehen hat), Daniel und Michael erörtern hier, ob und wie gut das gefallen hat. Nippon Connection 2021 Runde 2 Da ich aktuell an einer Hausarbeit schreibe, fällt die Beschreibung diesmal noch kürzer aus als sonst.
