" A lot of it was me trying to find a middle point. Most nights I would just pick up someone and have a little dance to them, make the crowd clap for them. Sometimes if there was a kid in the audience, I would give them a little high five. My favorite one was anytime if there was an empty seat in the front row. I would go sit down on that seat and just watch." This episode features Jesse Chidera who played the Rum Tum Tugger on the most recent International Tour of CATS which mostly performed in China. Republic NZ's Peter Hamilton has long believed New Zealand is ready to have a Kiwi as the head of state. King Charles is set to leave Australia and head to the 27th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa - bypassing New Zealand in his first tour since taking the throne. Hamilton says it makes more sense for New Zealand's head of state to live among New Zealanders. "The whole business of having a foreigner as our head of state - Australia, Canada, New Zealand and a few other countries - it's just overloading the system and the British monarch can't take the role that's required in this modern day and age." Jacques Rougeau Jr. is a Canadian former professional wrestler best known for his appearances in the 1980s and 1990s with the World Wrestling Federation. He began his career under his real name as half of the tag team The Fabulous Rougeaus with his brother Raymond Rougeau. In 1991, he began a singles career as The Mountie, winning the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship once. In 1993, he formed three time WWF Tag Team Championship winning tag team The Quebecers with Pierre Ouellet. At least 3 of Jacques' family members were wrestling promoters and/or wrestled themselves: his older brother Ray, his father Jacques Sr., and his uncle Jean "Johnny" Rougeau. Jacques' sister Johanne also promoted wrestling matches in Montreal, and brother Armand wrestled for smaller federations. Jacques debuted in the WWE (then WWF) on February 26, 1986 during the Australian leg of the company's International Tour, in a losing effort against Moondog Rex.[7] Raymond, who was victorious in his debut match against Moondog Spot the same night, debuted alongside Jacques 6 days later, winning their debut match as The Fabulous Rougeaus against the Moondogs. After two years in the Federation, The Fabulous Rougeaus turned heel. The Canadian brothers began being announced as "From Canada, but soon to relocate to the United States" and debuted an intentionally annoying entrance song, in which they sang (partly in French) about being "All-American Boys" and their manager, Jimmy Hart. They were also briefly billed from Memphis, Hart's home city. They mockingly waved tiny American flags to the chagrin of many American fans. They would humorously attempt to start "USA!" chants, which led to further negative fan "heat". #jacquesrougeau #wwesuperstar #professionalwrestler #livewithcdp #chrispomay #WQEE #themountie #fablousrougeaubrothers #quebecers Want to create live streams like this? After risking her life by crossing the Tumen River into China, Jisun learns her malnourished, underdeveloped body is not wanted. She finds herself having to make her own way on the streets, struggling in a merciless foreign land where her very existence is illegal. Inspired by the journeys of many North Korean women defectors, SELL ME portrays the everyday lives and impossible choices made by those living in North Korea, too often overlooked and distorted by Western media. Sora Baek Sora Baek is an award winning actor, playwright, and producer from South Korea. She has been featured on the Korea Times, News 12 NJ, and Voice of America. Select acting theatre credits include: SELL ME: I am from North Korea (the US Capitol Center), The Storm, A Christmas Carol, and Sworn Virgin (NYC and International Tour) with Blessed Unrest and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Calaveras Repertory Theatre). She received a Best Actress Award at the Epidemic Film Festival in San Francisco. Sora has been working with Only Make Believe which brings interactive theatre to children with disabilities over 15 years. *Sora's grandparents fled the North during the Korean war with her father when he was only four years old. She grew up in a small South Korean town across the river from North Korea, looking out at the empty ghost buildings. Sora's writing and research into the lives of North Korean defectors were born out of her family's inability to return home, the pain caused to many innocent families by the war that divided the two countries, and the pain many have since continued to live through. She presents this performance for her father, her grandfather, and all those who cannot go home. By Katie Redford Joe and Fran, two primary school teachers, watch the nativity play from the wings. The kiss they shared at the Christmas party the night before is all they can think about. But between the nativity and the ever over-enthusiastic Miss Pear, any more moments alone will be gold dust. Joe ..... Nikesh Patel Fran ..... Fiona Button Miss Pear ..... Joanna Monro Directed by Tracey Neale It's December 22nd and the day of the school Nativity. Joe Needson is preparing his pupils for their “Christmas Extravaganza” with some strong words of encouragement. He tucks himself away in the wings, ready for the show to begin. However, sitting in the wings is his fellow teacher, Fran Rayner. She desperately needs a minute to escape and by being in the company of Mr Needson she finds 44 of them. The night before was the staff Christmas party and due to cheap wine and cocktails and not enough Pringles to line their stomachs they shared a stolen kiss which neither of them can get out of their heads. When we meet them, it's the first time they've spoken to one another since the night before. It's clear they have chemistry and as their conversation continues, we realise that both have troubles they are trying to cope with. Just when we think they might address the elephant in the room - that stolen kiss - Miss Pear, overly enthusiastic at the best of times, keeps interrupting at various moments throughout their heart to heart. The ringing bells on her Christmas wings giving advance warning. During the nativity, we hear the gentle, heart-warming sounds of the children's nativity as a backdrop for various revelations from both a woman who feels trapped and a man whose loneliness is palpable. But the expectation of Christmas is that we should all be happy. We cover up the dark days and nights with tinsel and fairy lights. But Christmas is also a magical time and will Joe and Fran address what happened at the staff party, or will Miss Pear put a stop to that? The Writer: Katie is a writer and actor from Nottingham. She is a BAFTA Rocliffe TV Comedy winner and was also part of the BBC Comedy Writersroom. Her short film ‘Ghosted' starring Alison Steadman, which she wrote and produced, received the BFI Network award in association with Film Hub Midlands. She has various scripts in commissioned development for TV and is currently listed on the BBC New Talent Hot List. Yellow Lips, nominated for the Richard Imison Award at this year's Audio Drama Awards, was her debut drama for Radio 4. Cast: Nikesh Patel, The Devil's Hour (Amazon) and Starstruck (BBC/HBO) and has just completed filming on The Critic. Fiona Button, Trying (Apple TV/BBC Studios) and Out of her Mind (BBC2) and The Split (BBC1) Joanna Monro, Rosie in Mamma Mia (West End & International Tour) and Home Front (BBC Radio 4) Production Team: Tracey Neale (Producer & Director) Ben Hollands (Production Co-Ordinator) and Cal Knightley, Peter Ringrose and Jenni Burnett (Technical Team) This drama was originally broadcast on Radio 4.
