I'm Not Dead

I'm not dead talks to Elizabeth Kranz, Nadene Cherry and Irini Lygnos— three women whose journey to loving themselves have been different and yet share a common thread among them. Self-love is never about perfection; more about acknowledging your worth, honoring your journey, and being gentle with yourself through both triumphs and challenges. It's a reminder that self-love isn't static—it evolves with us, through all the different phases of our lives.   Elizabeth Kranz is a remarkable woman whose talents extend far beyond her stunning jewelry creations. While she has a keen eye for vintage treasures to share with others, her true essence lies in the many layers that define her journey—layers that go far deeper than her radiant appearance or the exquisite pieces she curates. A single mother, Elizabeth sought peace and solitude away from the chaos of city life, navigating the challenges of owning a business, going through a difficult divorce, and embracing her truth as she came out later in life. Throughout it all, she has faced her struggles with grace and humility, confronting both personal wounds and the pressures society places on us with courage and resilience.   Nadene Cherry, is corporate Meditation Leader + Speaker, on a mission to share her important message of empowering employees with Permission to Pause. She shares her personal practice with the most stressed out people of all – business people and leads meditations and mindfulness talks for companies. Her journey from the age of 16 working at Dairy Queen, to her early 20s of business school and tech sales, to finally discovering meditation at the age of 27 prepared her for where she is today on her self love tour. This woman screams she wants you to wear wherever you want and she means it when she says “It's never too late to come home to yourself”.  Irini Lygnos is a recovery advocate and personal coach specializing in addiction recovery. She also hosts the "Crosstalk" podcast, which spreads a message of hope and shows that recovery is possible through relatable, powerful stories. Driven by her passion for recovery, Irini connects deeply with her audience, constantly refining the podcast's impact. She balances a busy life of work, meetings, social media, and personal well-being. While still finding balance, Crossta I'm Not Dead is hosted by Sarah Clary and Christina Glickman  Executive Producers: Julia Cassidy, Sarah Clary and Christina Glickman Audio editing, mixing, and sound design: Daniel William Gonzalez Music: Zach Lounsbury   Proof of life series brought to you by Parker Thatch www.parkerthatch.com   Follow I'm Not Dead @imnotdead.x  Subscribe for more imnotdeadx.com

Christy Lefteri is the award-winning author of The Beekeeper of Aleppo, which has sold over a million copies worldwide and has been published in 40 countries. The Book of Fire is her spellbinding third novel. In this conversation we talk about how dry statistics are humans with the tears dried off, but storytelling has the power to grab our hearts…The Book of Fire...This morning, I met the man who started the fire. He did something terrible, but then, so have I. I left him. I left him and now he may be dead. Once upon a time there was a beautiful village that held a million stories of love and loss and peace and war, and it was swallowed up by a fire that blazed up to the sky. The fire ran all the way down to the sea where it met with its reflection.A family from two nations, England and Greece, live a simple life in a tiny Greek village: Irini, Tasso and their daughter, lovely, sweet Chara, whose name means joy. Their life goes up in flames in a single day when one man starts a fire out of greed and indifference. Many are killed, homes are destroyed, and the region's natural beauty wiped out.In the wake of the fire, Chara bears deep scars across her back and arms. Tasso is frozen in trauma, devastated that he wasn't there when his family most needed him. And Irini is crippled by guilt at her part in the fate of the man who started the fire. But this family has survived, and slowly green shoots of hope and renewal will grow from the smouldering ruins of devastation.Once again, Christy Lefteri has crafted a novel which is intimate and epic, sweeping and delicate. The Book of Fire explores not only the damage wrought by human folly, and the costs of survival in our changing world, but also - and ultimately - our powers of redemption and renewal.

Joining us on the show this week is Buddhist teacher, author, coach, and trainer, Irini Rockwell! In this episode we're exploring the ancient but profound teaching of the Five Wisdom Energies of Tibetan Buddhism (also called the five Buddha families). This teaching is a Tantric Buddhist view of reading the energies that constitute our physical reality, how they manifest in relationships, personalities, landscapes, music, food, and societies. While coming from the Tibetan system, this is a completely secular view of the world that empowers us to open ourselves to the current unfolding moment and to flow with the currents of the energies at play. Irini is the current torchbearer of this view and has been training her students in how to utilize it for over 30 years! She was a student of the venerable Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and a professional dancer.  She's written two books on the topic,  'The Five Wisdom Energies, a Buddhist Way of Understanding Personalities, Emotions and Relationships and Natural Brilliance' and is the founder of the Five Wisdoms Institute.  You can follow her work, sign up for classes, and order her books over at fivewisdomsinstitute.com

This week on Real Talk with Rachael I'm talking with Dr. Irini Fambro. She's is a wife and mother, teacher and student, speaker and listener. She and her high school love, Kenneth, have two children: Kalila and Kenneth. Irini's passion is to increase the contributions within organizations through valuing a greater definition of intelligence. Out of that desire, Intelligent Leadership was birthed from her dissertation work on Multiple Intelligence in leadership. Her experience includes a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in management from The University of Alabama, was ordained through the Wesleyan Church, and gained her Masters of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School while being a youth pastor for five years. Following that season, she became a college pastor, curriculum development contributor, and wrote Made for More. She completed her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Ecclesial from Regent University. Currently, she consults into churches on Intelligent Leadership content, teaches at TKU, as well as preaches at churches. Key Points from Our Conversation: "Gifts are an expression of a partnership with God." Our identity is not based on our gifts. When we separate the two, God protects our identity which is based on who He says we are. "God wants to partner with you, not use you." When we say God wants to "use" us, it begins to reflect that He's okay with things happening as a means to win more people. It doesn’t honor God give Him all the credit and cut ourselves out of the equation. It implies that we’re disposable to Him and that if He doesn’t use us, He’ll just use someone else. What we fail to do creates a spiritual consequence on earth. “Are things really getting worse or have we stepped back from the places we’re supposed to own?” Personality is an expression of who we are, but it’s not our identity. How you express who you are is different and how we get to express our gifts gets to be different. You rob the world of what you’re supposed to bring when you mimic others. God designed you intentionally. Healing comes in layers. When you find yourself facing the same thing over and over, be intentional to observe what’s happening around the situation. Ask what else God wants to show you to heal another layer. “Walking in your gift is an expression of your partnership with God.” We can become so confident in our gift that we stop consulting God on what He’s trying to partner with us to accomplish. You’ll know you're using your gift in an unhealthy way if it’s not for the other person’s benefit or it doesn’t produce good fruit. An Overview of 3 Categories of Gifts: Gifts of Jesus - In Ephesians 4:7-16 are the five supernatural grace gifts that Jesus appointed, often called the five-fold ministry: Apostles Prophets Teachers Pastors (Shepherds) Evangelists Gifts of God’s Grace - The next set are the gifts of God and are found in Romans 12:6-8. Prophesy Serving Teaching Encouragement Giving Leadership Compassion (Mercy) Gifts of the Holy Spirit - The third group is called the gifts of the Holy Spirit found in I Corinthians 12:8-10 and I Corinthians 12:27-28 Word of Wisdom Word of Revelation Knowledge Gift of Faith Gifts of Healing Power to Work Miracles Gift of Prophecy A gift to discern what the Spirit is speaking Gift of speaking different kinds of tongues Gift of the interpretation of tongues Let’s Get Real Practical: This Let's Get Real Practical section is an exercise to explore your spiritual gifts, but before I address that, I want you to answer these two questions - What did God speak to you about your views of being used by Him? Have you mistaken your gifts for your identity? Once you've determined that, ask what areas, topics, regions, or people are you drawn to? What areas give you life? What areas of your life are you seeing fruit? What areas do you give the most time? Is there peace or fulfillment when you operate in that area? My guest for this edition of Bluiríní Béaloidis is writer and documentary maker Manchán Magan, whose recent book 'Thirty-Two Words For Field' is a meditation on old Irish words and the nuances of a way of life that is vanishing with them. The book considers the 'richness of a language closely tied to the natural landscape' which 'offered our ancestors a more magical way of seeing the world'. It considers the 'sublime beauty and profound oddness of the ancient tongue that has been spoken on this island for over 2,000 years'. In this discussion, we consider how language and tradition binds us to the landscape, expolore the role of tradition in modernity and speculate on the ancient connections between Ireland and India. Manchán's book '32 Words For Field' has been nominated for numerous awards, and (as of December 2020) is already in its fourth printing.

Own It! For Entrepreneurs. Talking Digital Marketing, Small Business, Being Digital Nomads and Success Thinking

After years of struggle, attempts and control, hard work and driving business results, how does this translate suddenly into ease and flow and vibe, even to the extent of both N&J channeling writing, downloading words and ideas in abundance, and allowing wonderful opportunities and synchronicity into both of their lives that make them both exclaim in wonder? How do you decide when to push and when to allow?   In The Show Nicola is enjoying her stay in Sydney with her brother Alex; the ferries, the zoo, a Japanese restaurant, meeting two chaps from America, speaking at a coaching and leadership event with 70+ attendees, a mani-pedi and more treats. Judith has organised a roof over her house-sitting head all the way through until 2nd July. She’s delighted to have been asked by Lisa Warner of Fink Cards to add 7 more questions to her list of 43 about money and she’ll have a full set. She’s noticing she’s feeling some marketing fatigue and is even thinking of NOT sending out a newsletter this week, even after having written it. She’s being guided by vibe and intuition, and experimenting too.   What's Fuelled Their Fire? Nicola is totally inspired about her writing. She’s reading and writing scripts and doing some more study, including Neil Gaiman’s Masterclass. Judith’s loving the Own It! podcast right now. There’s a new (7th) Patreon in Sharon Gaskin, and the influx of new members to the free companion Facebook Group enables community building, getting to know the listeners and invite them on as guests, and creates dialogues and relationships with listeners all around the world, even a potential new client this week for Judith from the podcast.   Focus Of The Week After years of struggle, attempts and control, hard work and driving business results, how does this translate suddenly into ease and flow and vibe, even to the extent of both N&J channeling writing, downloading words and ideas in abundance, and allowing wonderful opportunities and synchronicity into both of their lives that make them both exclaim in wonder? How do you decide when to push and when to allow? This discussion is the first of several as they are right at the beginning of their journey with the Abraham-Hicks work.   Words Of The Week Nicola chooses Over-Stimulated and Judith picks Miracle.   Project Updates Nicola has written a pilot 6-episode TV series and submitted it to two production companies plus offered it up for a professional paid critique. She’s working on project #2, which is a 90-minute feature film. Judith’s pushing on with the Worthing estate agents and tomorrow will visit them with her passport (KYC).   Who Or What's Impressed Nicola loves Irini, the Greek lady on MasterChef for the way she’s educating viewers about the beauties of Greek food. And Judith loves Gareth Malone for his two TV shows about the school at the foot of the Grenfell Tower.   Thanks for listening! New Zealand publisher Linda Cassells has built a successful business and in this episode, she shares some tips about communicating with clients.   In The Show Nicola’s had a difficult few days culminating in her kettle triggering a loss of electricity this morning just as she was making coffee, wanting to take a shower and get online for the podcast recording. Fortunately, an electrician “magically” appears and sorts it all out for fifty euro and just in time. She will need a new kettle too. Judith’s week has been about new client attraction, the supermoon, sleep and sleeplessness. Abraham Hicks and making a new Facebook friend who owns and runs a coach business, as distinct from a coaching business.   What's Fuelled Their Fire? Nicola talks about the benefits of taking 100% responsibility for what happens in your own life and how that helps her. She tells Judith that the podcast is nearing 100k downloads at 96,196. Judith has had some hi-vibe feedback from readers of her newsletter and reads out the lovely comments of two of the newer listeners to the podcast who have made themselves known in the Own It! Facebook Group, Amy and Kerryn.   Focus Of The Week Successful New Zealand publisher Linda Cassells shares some tips about communication: 1. Knowing your communication style 2. Setting boundaries 3. Dealing with difficulties 4. Taking initiative   Words Of The Week Nicola and Judith both choose Vibration and decide that’s entirely appropriate given the emphasis of today’s show.   Project Updates Nicola reports that she’s up to the 20,000-word mark in her book, and working on what is called the middle build and key scenes. She’s made her heroine younger so that some romance can be introduced. Judith has written twice this week on Monday and she introduces a new project, selling one of her buy-to-let properties.   Who Or What's Impressed Nicola picks out Annabel and Irini as her stars in week one of this year’s Masterchef. And Judith is excited by a model and a platform for monetising her newsletter.  She raves about Substack.com.   Thanks for listening! Being brave enough to show our vulerability isn't the ultimate goal, but it's the beginning of a journey to allow God in to those places. We have to press through the process - layer by layer, where freedom is at the core of the healing. Pushing through for healing and wholeness after we open up allow us to fly!  Take a listen and share with your friends!
