This episode is sponosored by Hulu. Stream PRISON BREAK on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ Internationally. Sarah Wayne Callies and Paul Adelstein discuss Prison Break S4E5 “Safe and Sound,” focusing on what they call the series' best scene so far: Pam Mahone identifying Wyatt and pushing Mahone toward revenge, praising the grounded performances and how the writing redirects Mahone's obsessive “monster-hunting” into something noble. They talk stunts and production, including Sara wanting to do the highway run but being stopped for insurance, the use of a stunt double wig, and “free boat” harbor background production value. They dig into Gretchen's off-camera “smell torture,” speculate what was in the bucket, and note her escape and new wild-card status, alongside Michael's nosebleeds suggesting a long-standing medical issue and his impulse to hide it from Sara. They compare Season 4's Scylla “horcrux” heist structure to The Sting's audience-information misdirection, discuss T-Bag's office con and Trishanne's leverage, answer fan questions contrasting Wyatt with Kellerman, and debate whether Michael could truly walk away from the fight against the Company. This episode of PRISON BREAKING WITH SARAH & PAUL is sponsored by Hulu. Stream PRISON BREAK on Hulu (U.S.) and Disney+ (Internationally) Sarah Wayne Callies and Paul Adelstein discuss “Prison Break” Season 4 Episode 3 “Shut Down,” focusing on Milan Cheylov's directing, including the claustrophobic chase location, car-chase camerawork, sound design on Wyatt's torture scenes, and an overall rise in intensity and physicality (neck-grabs, head-slaps) across the episode. They note how period tech (PDA references and flip-phone texting) dates the story, debate how much exposition viewers need versus simply believing the characters, and riff on a proposed “Lincoln Bingo” game tracking Lincoln's recurring traits. They also talk about Mahone's darkness, commitment to finding his son's killer, and his value as the team's most dangerous asset, plus a running joke about hair length correlating with power. Guest Wilbur Fitzgerald (Bruce Bennett) reflects on playing a lawyerly, loyal confidant to Governor Raitt and Sarah, balancing acting with a long legal career (including helping create Georgia's film tax incentives), returning for season four, and crafting a restrained, non-corny “drugged” performance opposite Cress Williams; he shares that he wasn't warned his character would die and answers fan questions and a “Scylla Squad” prompt. This episode of Prison Breaking With Sarah And Paul is brought to you by Hulu. Stream Prison Break on Hulu (U.S.) and Disney+ (Internationally). Sarah and Paul discuss the Prison Break season 3 finale, focusing on the emotional impact of McGrady's homecoming and the disturbing brutality inflicted on Sucre, including being forced to dig his own grave and nearly buried alive. They praise director Nelson McCormick's work, the intensity and realism of the beach/car-chase sequence, the act-five montage, and the Spanish a cappella cover of “Cry” over the ending. They analyze key character dynamics: Sophia realizing Whistler is tied to the Company, Gretchen's cold efficiency, Mahone being pulled into a larger conspiracy, and T-Bag's manipulations and uneasy hints of “loyalty.” Broadly, they reflect on how seasons 3–4 feel like a tonal demarcation from seasons 1–2, with faster, more fantastical action and a harder-to-connect Company narrative after losing human anchors like Kellerman, compounded by the constraints of a shortened, strike-affected season. This episode of Prison Breaking With Sarah And Paul is brought to you by Hulu. Stream Prison Break on Hulu (U.S.) and Disney+ (Internationally). Sarah and Paul analyze director Greg Yaitanes' directing choices, focusing on motivated camera movement, pacing, blocking, and symmetrical framing, and frame directing as accumulated “taste” and execution. They define “hoisted by his own petard,” then discuss Lincoln and Sofia's romantic tension, Gretchen's manipulation, Michael's post–Sarah-death nihilism, and how acting grounds “graphic novel” dialogue. In fan questions, they note interest in the Michael/Lincoln fracture and wish Mahone's deal/trial arc had lasted longer, then end by proposing games (including “two truths and a lie”). This episode of Prison Breaking With Sarah And Paul is sponsored by Hulu. Stream Prison Break on Hulu (U.S.) and Disney+ (Internationally) Sarah Wayne Callies and Paul Adelstein welcome this episode's co-writer, Seth Hoffman. Prison Break was Seth's first Hollywood job and he was one of the first people hired onto the show by Matt Olmstead as the Writer's Assistant. He shares his unusually quick rise from writer's assistant to staff writer and now showruns WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY. He describes how he was hired at the start of season one, promoted unusually quickly, and why the room was uniquely functional and generous, offering assistant education through episode cut viewings and editorial notes. They explore season three's tonal shift to a darker, less-controlled world for Michael, shaped in part by looming Writer's Guild strike uncertainty and network concerns about bleakness. Hoffman shares casting memories (notably William Fichtner as Mahone), the use of fake audition sides to avoid spoilers, limited writer-on-set practices, and lessons from producer Karen Usher. He also pitches a later “season five” concept set in Hell and answers a “Sona escape partner” question with Andy Dufresne. Stream Prison Break on Hulu (U.S.) and Disney+ (Internationally) Chris Vance on Whistler, Sona Stunts, and Finding a New Chapter Beyond Prison Break Sarah Wayne Callies and Paul Adelstein open Prison Breaking with Sarah and Paul episode 308 (“Bang and Burn”), sponsored by Hulu, with banter about “facts” and fax machines, then preview an interview with Chris Vance (Whistler) and react to the episode's huge stunt set piece involving helicopters, gunfire, explosions, and a burning truck, plus the emotional Whistler/Sophia fence scene. They recap key plot points: Gretchen and the General launch “Operation Bang and Burn,” Whistler is ordered to kill Michael, Michael warns Lincoln via McGrady's father, Sofia discovers Whistler's “Gary Miller” identity, Michael stops Whistler's helicopter extraction, and Michael is taken out of Sona while Mahone spirals through detox. They flag the sudden, convenient tunnel reveal as a possible acceleration due to the writer's strike. In the interview, Vance shares his first U.S. trip to Dallas, the welcoming scale of the set, guidance from Kevin Hooks, filming the crane “helicopter” sequence, his belief Whistler truly loved Sophia, reflections on professionalism and empathy on set, personal hardships, health struggles, a brief Equalizer job, and his pivot to writing a 12-book historical fiction series to be re-released via his company Oratales. On September 13th John Horn talked to the Round TAlbe about "The Wilson-Kautz Raid, June-July 1864" For for Info: WWW.ChicagoCWRT.ORG Grant wasted no time after his Petersburg assaults of June 15-18, 1864, failed to capture the city. He launched his second offensive against Petersburg hours later. Among other things, he sent his cavalry on a raid to cut the Confederate railroads south of Petersburg. This would slow any reinforcements sent from the south and west to the enemy at Petersburg and Richmond. Grant also hoped that in case his infantry failed in its mission a lack of provisions would force the foe to abandon those cities. But at Petersburg Grant faced Lee and not Floyd as at Fort Donelson in 1862 or Pemberton as at Vicksburg in 1863. Lee, his cavalry commander Hampton, and Mahone smashed Grant's cavalry raiders at the battles of Sappony Church and First Reams Station. Born and reared in Chicago, John Horn has practiced law there since 1976. He has written three books and co-edited another about Petersburg, Virginia's soldiers, and the siege of that city. His most recent book, The Petersburg Regiment in the Civil War: A History of the 12th Virginia Infantry from John Brown's Hanging to Appomattox, 1859- 2 1861 (Savas Beatie), won the 2019 Army Historical Foundation Distinguished Writing Award for Unit History. He has published articles in Civil War Times Illustrated, America's Civil War, Gettysburg Magazine, and North and South Magazine. He blogs at johnhorncivilwarauthor.blogspot.com.

Real Estate Mogul Podcast - Learn How To Leverage Investing Strategies in Your Real Estate Business
In real estate investing, the first few deals are the scariest. Instead of seeing the mistakes we could make as failures, what if we treat them like necessary lessons? To be successful, we need to take advantage of both the wins and pitfalls. How do we situate ourselves to start learning and taking advantage of opportunities? In this episode, New Jersey agent and investor, Rob Mahone walks us through spotting his initial opportunities, getting through the fear of doing those first deals, and how he is using the lessons he learned today. As agents, we take people through the process, so the process isn't unfamiliar to us, it's the action of doing it ourselves that's unfamiliar and that's what you have to overcome. -Robert Mahone Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode How to win in investing We often spread ourselves thin thinking we can tackle and succeed at multiple things. Can we achieve more by doing less? Why our mistakes are so powerful How do we extract lessons from the missteps and hurdles we face along the way? The best way to start a deal Why is evaluating properties first such an important step? Guest Bio Robert began his real-estate journey nearly 20 years ago. It started with researching the industry, attending seminars, and working with mentors who took him under their wing. He bought his first rental property in 2015, and a second 6 months later. A rough patch as a new investor propelled him into a dual-career, supplementing his IT contractor salary with income as a real estate salesperson. He initially thought he'd use the real estate sales position to meet other investors and expand his network, but he fell in love with the joy that arrives on closing day for first-time buyers who are finally achieving their goal of homeownership. People want someone they can trust to get them through the stressful home-buying process, and Robert takes his work seriously in educating his clients and the agents he mentors on the benefits of homeownership. Real estate and homeownership are tools to generate equity, but they can also create long-term revenue streams and provide huge tax benefits. Approaching his third year in real estate sales, Robert has replaced his position as an IT contractor with being a full-time agent. He now supplements his income with his investments and a General Contracting business. It's really important to Robert that his three sons grow up playing monopoly with real property and not just the board game.
