Well… With Grimsby playing MK Dons over the weekend, Luke is clearly more upbeat than Jordan on this one, as the two dive into the events at Blundell Park, as well as the rest of the action in League Two, including another Port Vale win (they've been pretty good at that recently), Doncaster taking down Bradford in a Yorkshire derby, and Ian Holloway, looking like a Boy George tribute act, might as well have started work as Swindon manager on Saturday than his planned start date of Monday. The two also take a closer look at the situation at Carlisle United, and discuss if Mike Williamson is already on thin ice at the club following yet another defeat. First on Match of the Day and also opening this week's show are Luton and Thomas Kaminski. The Belgian has been solid for The Hatters since his summer arrival from Blackburn, and a series of saves in a first Premier League home win at Kenilworth Road continues to raise his profile. Andre Onana kept a clean sheet away at Everton and looks like he's just beginning to adjust to life behind an ever-changing Manchester United backline, Ederson provided us with yet another distribution masterclass in the draw between Man City and Liverpool, and Newcastle named three goalkeepers on the bench for what we reckon was the first time in top flight history. Oh, and there's the customary Raya/Ramsdale debate following the latter's heavily scrutinised return to Arsenal's starting line up against Brentford. In the EFL, Chris Maxwell made his first league appearance and debut for Huddersfield, Dan Grimshaw kept it clean in Blackpool's 4-0 romp over promotion chasers Portsmouth and Craig MacGillivray revelled in a new playing-out-from-the-back system under Mike Williamson at MK Dons.

Originally from Tucson, AZ, Mike Williamson is a gaffer/chief lighting technician (CLT) working in Hollywood, CA on commercials and music videos. After graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Williamson made the move to Los Angeles, CA to pursue his dreams of working in the film industry. Since making the move, Williamson has worked with clients such as Apple, Captain Morgan USA, Urban Plates, Honda Motor Co, along with artists such as Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Wiz Khalifa, and more. In my conversation with Williamson, we dive into his early years growing up in Tucson, AZ and wanting to get out of a city that had nothing going for it by way of filmmaking, how and why he fell in love with lighting and wanting to become a gaffer, the ebbs and flows of working as a freelance filmmaker, advice for up and coming gaffers, working with high level musicians and artists such as Lady Gaga and Tom Morello, the not so sexy business side of things when it comes to buying gear and doing your taxes, being a kind person, working on car commercials, having interests outside of work, and a whole host of other topics. This was a lot of fun and Mike is truly a good dude, working his ass off in Hollywood. Selfishly, I hope we are able to work together again soon because he brings good energy and a rad attitude to set, which is half the battle. Here is my wide-ranging conversation with Mike Williamson, one of the first seaweed farmers in north America and the CEO of Cascadia Seaweed, one of the largest provider of ocean cultivated seaweed in North America (full bio below). He told me some really compelling stories about starting as a pioneer seaweed farmer and entrepreneur in British Columbia (Canada). Cascadia Seaweed decided early on to start farming their own seaweed and then focus on 3 main verticals: seaweed for making plant-based food products (e.g. seaweed snacks), feed additives for cows to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, extracting chemicals and dietary supplements from seaweed in a sustainable way. We looked into the importance of scale and the role of small businesses in the seaweed industry, with some great advice for seaweed entrepreneurs. Mike shared his experience and learnings with the branding aspects of developing seaweed products, testing them and bringing them to market - covering topics such as changing people perception and expanding the consumer acceptance and awareness of seaweed. We then launched into a deep dive around seaweed processing: from harvesting, freezing and extracting ingredients (bio-refining). He explained how seaweed doesn't behave like any other land-based vegetables and the challenges that this brings to the processing stages, creating a need for specialised machinery and innovation in this area, which is strongly supported by collaboration with other seaweed entrepreneurs. Mike has had a long relationship with the sea. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for over thirty years. He had a number of shore-based, sea-going (under-sea) and overseas postings, culminating with three years as Commander of Canada's west coast Naval Base. In the last ten years, he has been an entrepreneur and leader of a number of marine oriented companies encompassing energy, security, education and the environment. Mike brings this experience, along with a BSc (Math/Physics) and an MBA, to his current role.
This week we try to give ourselves all hope. Whether you are wallowing in play-off despair, relegation woes or just mid-table obscurity there's always inspiration in knowing that there's always hope further down the line. Two clubs that just a few seasons ago were on the brink of never playing again, celebrate the power of the passion of the people behind them and the success of promotion back to where they belong. First up we chat with Mike Williamson, manager at Gateshead FC who this week wrapped up the National North title just three seasons after their demotion from the National League, putting them back there next season and in a far stronger position. It was five years since Vice Chairman at Skelmersdale United broke most of our hearts with his emotional interview that suggested his family's involvement for over 100 years with the club may have to come to an end. Norman Fenney is the most asked about guest we've ever had and it's great to have him back on to tell us about the club thriving at their new home, winning the inter-step play-off to get back to steps 4 and still having a cup semi final to look forward to this weekend. Rounding off the show is Jon Couch Executive Editor at The Non League Paper as we take a look at the play-off winners, the final rolls of the dice in the National League and what's to come in this weekend's paper.

Formed in 2018, the young Los Angeles-based duo Analog Party has distilled their love for grunge, classic rock, post-punk, and industrial music into both a debut EP Model Youth (released April 19, 2019) and single Absolution (released June 19, 2020). Comprised of singer/multi-instrumentalist Animaan Pathak and bassist Charles Horin, the band's unique sound walks a fine line between fierce riff-based rock and moody, atmospheric textures, touching on both introspective and existential lyrical themes. Their latest single "One" is reminiscent of bands like Alice in Chains and Deftones -- soaring vocal harmonies, viscous heavy guitars, and mammoth drums serve as an immense sonic backdrop to a brooding reflection on how to exist in an increasingly chaotic society. “Although I wrote the song late last year, the lyrics feel even more relevant now. While the verses capture the overwhelming waves of anxiety, fear, and loneliness that stem from being a young person in this currently fucked up period of history, the chorus captures the dichotomy of hope and hopelessness for the future. The phrase 'I am one' could be viewed as a self-affirming and empowering statement just as much as it is a reflection on how helpless and alone one can feel in today's society. For the video, we teamed up with our friends at Sleepless Format (Brandon Villalovos and Mike Williamson) to capture a simple performance with a bleak visual tone to match the vibe of the music.” explains vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Animaan. It's the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup so Phil Annets @FACupFactFile is on hand to wow Dave Anderson and Tim Fuell with the big stats of the round.Up against the lowest ranked side left in the competition, Gateshead manager Mike Williamson is as calm as ever but he knows it's a potential banana skin. Having overcome the woes of the club last season however, it does appear almost nothing can wobble this novice member of the managerial profession, still juggling his boss role with playing.Another new manager is Kem Izzet, the new boss at Brightlingsea Regent and he's adamant he will be fair but firm with his players and won't be looking to make friends as he looks to build upon his time as coach at divisional rivals East Thurrock United.Senior Writer at The Non League Paper, David Richardson is the man with this week's round-up. Every FA Cup game covered in this week's paper, news on the FA Vase and FA Trophy draws as well as insight into some of the biggest managerial names in non league.

Mike Williamson was by his own account 'an ordinary guy with no interest in spiritualism'. He thought it was just 'cranks trying to make money off people'. That was until an injury to his daughters foot led him to a spiritual healer. This began a journey into the world of spiritualism and mediumship, subjects on which Mike has now authored three books. As part of our continuing series I ask Mike about his experiences with spirit possession and how this phenomenon relates to schizophrenia. I also ask all the obvious questions that jump into my mind which might help shed light on the objective nature of this other realm. Mike Williamson left Monster Energy Kawasaki recently and we’ll ask him why that happened, look back on a fantastic career spinning the wrenches, probably talk some James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry also. Wil Hahn, manager of the Star Yamaha team, is a friend of the show and just helped Dylan Ferrandis win his first 250SX race in Seattle. We’ll have Wilbur on to talk about his role as manager, winning +25 titles in Texas recently and more. Ryan McClintock is a rider in the mid-west and also an EMT. He decided to, over time, do a survey of racers and what injuries he treated, what brace, if any, the riders use and the impact of brace usage. It was an interesting read and we’ll have Ryan on tonight to talk about it. Newf & JT are in studio!
AFTERBUZZ TV - AfterBuzz TV's Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Steph Sabraw interviews Christina Elizabeth. She was also featured in writer/director Mickey Keating’s indie horror thriller Psychopaths. She wrote, produced and starred in the dramatic short Pretext, all of which takes place during a tense conversation between a rape victim and her rapist. And she was the comical referee on the football betting series Cousin Sal’s Sure Thing. A Nashville, Tennessee native, and a graduate of Northwest High School, Smith got her first taste of show business as a competitive dancer. During that period, as part of a tap dancing trio, she won the U.S. National Championship. However, acting was a stronger draw for her, and she soon began to appear in stage plays, music videos and commercials in her native Tennessee. She also made her feature film debut as the star of Happy and Dead, which was produced locally. When opportunities dried up in Nashville (she had appeared in so many music videos, she was oversaturated in the market), she decided to pursue her acting ambition in Southern California. One of her favorite early experiences was working opposite actress Geena Davis in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, in which she portrayed a traumatized mother seeking treatment for her suffocating baby. She also came to the attention of filmmaker Darrell Holmes who cast her as a popular girl in his romantic comedy Promenade. She then booked a victim role in the Morbid Minutes web series, which was directed by Ted Raimi, and she‘s the dippy bimbo sister opposite Bree Essrig in the Killer Sisters Midnight Hour horror movie review show for director Michael Williamson. Smith’s other television credits include: Young, Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Wacko Smacko. Her additional feature credits include: The Rocker, Ever, Mountain, and she starred opposite Alan Ruck and Kathleen Wilhoit in director Mike Williamson’s horror short Deathly. Comfortable with comedy roles, Smith is a veteran of The Groundlings, 10 West, and Upright Citizen’s Brigade. When she isn’t acting, she continues to dance; she’s passionate about animal rights, and fascinated with mythic storytelling from around the world. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
“I think Amelia is more well known than possibly even Lindberg. Amelia is just part of the psyche of the public. She was a really positive role model doing some amazing things; certainly laying it all out there on the line. The mystery of the disappearance adds to her story." Considered by many to be a purist when it comes to locating Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra 10E, Dana Timmer has been an advocate for the "Ditch & Sink" hypothesis since he started investigating the events that occurred on the morning of July the 2nd 1937. Working with and earning the professional respect of many of the world's premier experts in nautical exploration, Dana led the very first deep water search for Amelia Earhart, Fred Noonan and their Lockheed Electra 10E in 1999 and he's been feverishly working this case ever since. Working with the team of Michael Williamson and Arthur Wright at Williamson & Associates, Dana believes that it's just a matter of "when" for the location and retrieval of the holy grail of aviation. Tonight, on the 68th episode of the Chasing Earhart podcast Dana joins us via Zoom from Vienna Austria along with Mike Williamson and Arthur Wright joining us from Seattle Washington to discuss "Expedition Amelia" and why they collectively believe that the interest, in this case, is high, the technology is there and the time to end Amelia's story is now.
