In this episode, guest host Tyler Marifke goes on an awkward couple's retreat with us, as we discuss Kelly Thompson, Pere Pérez, Frank D'Armata, and co.'s Rogue & Gambit: Ring of Fire.
Almost eight years since her debut in the early issues of 2015's Star Wars (Vol. 2), Sana Starros is leading her own five-issue mini-series (Star Wars: Sana Starros) that promises to detail her early life and how she came to be who she is.The series -- written by Justina Ireland, illustrated by Pere Pérez, colored by Jay David Ramos, lettered by VC's Travis Lanham, with book design by Carlos Lao, and edited by Mikey J. Basso, Danny Khazem and Mark Paniccia -- begins with a fast start, introducing readers old and new to Sana herself and bringing her extended family into the picture, too, setting up a heist that will see the Starros family tangle with the Empire.Be sure share this week's episode on social media and, if you haven't leave us a review wherever you get your podcasts.Comics out today and broken down on this week's episode:_ Sana Starros #1 (of 5)Star Wars Comics on Marvel Unlimited This Week:_ Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2) #25News:_ The Blade #2 (of 4) is getting a second printing. This week, we are joined by TWO very special guests: Kelly Thompson (Black Widow / Captain Marvel / Amazing Spider-Man) returns along with Ed Brisson (Predator / Batman Incorporated / Beyond the Breach) as we look back on their collaboration with Matt on Uncanny X-Men!IDB is an all-new weekly podcast presented by Ashcan Press and featuring Matthew Rosenberg, the Supple Boiz, and wonderful guests from the world of comic books! Our theme song is “Where's the Poison” by Summer PeopleEnjoy!Hey again. So this episode is a little different. This is actually something Kelly, Ed, and I talked about doing a while ago but never got around to. We all talk regularly and are pretty close friends (despite Ed's obvious disdain for me on the podcast), so getting together to discuss our 10 issue run of Uncanny X-Men made a lot of sense to us. It seemed like a fun way to relive a crazy moment in all of our careers, give fans a behind the scenes glimpse at the book, and maybe even learn some stuff about ourselves. It was Kelly who really pushed for this to actually happen though, but she doesn't have a podcast and I do, so I win.Meanwhile I'm trying to not feel weird about the fact that my internet dropped out and I disappear from the show for 4 minutes and not only does no one notice, but the show actually runs much better. But the joke is on them because while I was waiting for my modem to reboot I made myself an egg cream and they just had to keep talking to each other about Infinity Stones or something. To read the complete series you can pick up UNCANNY X-MEN: DISASSEMBLED in paperback or fancy hardcover wherever comics are sold. And if you want to see what the book is all about, you can read the first issue for free here. I'm not sure Marvel knows that that is up there, so maybe keep this between us. Maybe they do? I don't know. I guess a few Marvel folks read this newsletter. Everyone be cool. You should check out Ed's excellent newsletter here to stay up to date on all the cool stuff he has going on.I shouldn't have to tell you where to find Kelly's newsletter since she's basically the cohost of this show at this point, but just in case you missed it you can click here.A big thanks to all our collaborators on UNCANNY X-MEN for making it beautiful and fun- Mahmud Asrar, R.B. Silva, Adriano Di Benedetto, Yildiray Cinar, Pere Pérez, Rachelle Rosenberg, Mirko Colak, Ibraim Roberson, Mark Bagley, Andrew Hennessey, Guru-eFX, Joe Caramagna, Chris Eliopoulos, Leinil Francis Yu, Edgar Delgado, Elizabeth Torque, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Roberto Poggi, Matt Milla, and Jason Keith. And lastly, a huge loving thanks to our editors for putting up with us, making sure the book came out, and making sure it was good- Chris Robinson, Darren Shan, and Jordan D. White. As always you can listen to older episodes of IDEAS DON'T BLEED here or wherever you get your podcasts. And if you aren't subscribed to this newsletter you can do so below. Get digital comics, discounts on cool stuff, new podcasts sent to you every week, and even get comics not available anywhere else.Tune in next week for part two to see if Ed makes me cry.Stay safe. Take care of each other. Try to notice when people disappear.-Matthew RosenbergNYC 10/17/22 This is a public episode.

Nad igal juhul katsetavad. :) Kauplemine Pakri kaitsealaga jätkub. Lõpueksamid ikkagi toimuvad. Uus erakond PERE - Põliseestlaste Rahvaerakond.

StudiosEveryone loves a good who-done-it, what are some of your favorite detective stories and were there any you read or watched to prepare for Wicked Things? If you had to pitch Wicked Things to 18 or 19 year olds, how would you describe it? The plot of Wicked Things #1 revolves around an awards ceremony for detectives. Having won an Eisner, did you approach this issue from your own experience with that award show, or maybe others you’ve attended? The lead character, Charlotte "Lottie" Grote, was first introduced (if I’m not mistaken) in Scary Go Round in the story the Estate January 28, 2009, and while the character is 19 in Wicked Things she’s technically 11 in real people years. That’s a long time for the character to live inside your head and while we’ve seen her in Giant Days and elsewhere, how has she changed--or maybe she hasn’t-- in those 11 years? When crafting a murder mystery detective story are there storytelling elements that take a back seat to the mystery itself? Worldbuilding, for instance, seems a touch harder when the audience is focusing on the detective and their work.I love the little details in Wicked Things #1, from the text on a magazine cover to the name of Charlotte’s gummy bears, are these things right in the script, or do they evolve when making the book? The Tackleverse, or Bobbinsverse as I’ve seen it written, is an incredible thing. You’ve built an entire universe of characters. Are there any inherent pros and cons of building a universe? Might we see you create an entirely new one someday?Originating as a webcomic creator, are there elements of webcomic creation you miss, and things you are happy to leave behind? When you were little, what did you think you’d be when you grew up?What do you hope to see in the comics industry in the future? What comics are you reading right now?Off Topic Top Shelf: John Allison’s pick - Horror Stories: A Memoir: Liz Phair, Bakuman, The Sopranos

Rogue & Gambit" by Kelly Thompson. This is the episode we've all been waiting to dive into. The last batch of shows have all been about context, filling out the nooks and crannies to Rogue & Remy's relationship, so we can get down to the delightfully dirty business of shipping the greatest X-Men couple. Have we gone too far? We dunno. Kelly Thompson's work on these characters have made us true believers, and we're thrilled to continue to explore their dynamic using "Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love" by Drs. Gottman and Abrams as our guide. Issues covered in this episode: "Rogue & Gambit" No. 1 - 5, written by Kelly Thompson, illustrated by Pere Pérez, colored by Frank D'Armata, and lettered by Joe Caramagna. If you're looking for the interview Thompson did with Marvel about her 90s comic book obsession, then click HERE. Earlier this month the nominees for the 2017 Eisner Awards were announced at the Comic-Con International website, and as Andy and Derek like to do every year, they're devoting a full episode of The Comics Alternative to a discussion of the nominations. On this week's show, the Two Guys give their impressions of the various nominees, both as a whole and on a category-by-category basis, making observations and trying to understand any trends underlying this year's selections. However, Derek and Andy resist the urge to play armchair quarterbacks, so they don't second-guess the six-member panel of judges or focus on what they would have chosen if they had been on the selection committee. As diligent comics scholars, they judicial and discerning in their commentary. At the same time, they don't shy away from pointing out a few inconsistencies and a few head-scratchers when trying to make sense of this year's nominations. You can find a complete list of the 2017 Eisner Award nominees below. So as you listen to this week's episode, please feel free to scroll down and follow along!
