Not Righteous Professing Christians Are "Whitewashed Tombstones" - Pretty on the Outside but Dead on the Inside MESSAGE SUMMARY: A righteousness, that comes from your being in communion with the Holy Spirit, is not like a professing Christian who is really just a "whitewashed tombstone" -- pretty on the outside but dead on the inside. Rather, followers of Jesus are called to live righteous lives, as we are instructed by the Psalmist in Psalms 37:39: “The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.". Also, Paul tells us in Romans 1:17: “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'”. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells us, as His followers, that: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.". In Matthew 5, Jesus tells us, as His followers, that we are different and blessed; and these blessings flow from your living a righteous life in Him. Allow the Holy Spirit to create in you a clean and pure heart. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I acknowledge that I prefer to ignore and deny my pain and loss. I struggle with seeing how resurrection life can come out of death. Grant me the courage to pay attention to what you are doing, and to wait on you — even when everything in me wants to run away. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 114). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Insensitivity. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Gentleness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). Why is it that so many people who claim to be Christians act no different than non-Christians? Why are our churches so divided? Why is there so much anger, bitterness, sexual sin, and gossip going on among professed Christians? Well…it could be that these people claiming to be Christians aren't really Christians. They might be “unsaved believers.” Today we will hear this from Jesus Himself as He teaches 2 parables that remind us that in the church there will be true born-again believers and false, unsaved believers. Then we will talk about what a true Born-Again Christian actually looks like! Join us today as we continue in the gospel of John.
What does the average person mean when they say "I am a Christian"? The results may shock you. In this episode, Brandon sits with Dr. Adam Rasmussen of the Arizona Christian Cultural Research Center to discuss the difference between a Christian Worldview and a Biblical Worldview. Also, we discuss the importance of biblical literacy in turbulent times. ---- As a Fellow at the Cultural Research Center and the Dean of the College of Arts & Humanities at Arizona Christian University, Dr. Adam Rasmussen draws upon his 25 years of experience in Christian education to inspire students to thrive under the Lordship of Christ in all aspects of their lives. This Sunday we had the pleasure of hearing from Pastor Karl Payne who reminded us that when you have accepted Jesus, you are guaranteed a seat in heaven. Get your Bibles out and pens ready to take notes, this message will encourage you today! Pastor Herb Hartso III, head pastor of Antioch Bible Churchinvites you to join us in person. You belong here. Recording Outline:I. Greetings | StartII. Message | 5:00III. Closing Statement | 41:00Life Group Questions:1. Is it Scripturally accurate to say that eternal salvation with God is dependent upon a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, obtainable only as: a free gift apart from works; given by grace alone; through faith alone; in Jesus Christ alone, regardless of how I feel about the subject? Where does Scripture answer these questions?2. Is it Scripturally accurate to say that Christians can and should “know” they have eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ now, present tense, or must they wait until God judges them as believers or unbelievers, future tense? Where does Scripture answer this question?3. Why do so many professing Christians struggle with fear, worry and anxiety concerning both of these questions? Professing Christians who are controlled daily by fear, worry and anxiety insult God and represent a life wrapped around the inefficient and ineffective expenditure of energy and time, whether they consider their feelings and emotions sincere or a natural reaction to circumstances.

Hey, Neighbor! Give us a second to plug in Luke's mic... Today we're talking about popular Relationship Gurus on TikTok--specifically "Jimmy on Relationships," who has amassed a huge following from Divorced (or soon-to-be-divorced) women. What does it take to become a popular content creator "on relationships"? Well, start by having an affair... Then buy yourself a wig... Once again, these videos are being share by PROFESSING CHRISTIANS who lack discernment. Why are Church People struggling to sort out the difference between worldly advice and good biblical Wisdom? Later: John played a Jimmy Video for his men's group, and nobody thought it was important. They'd rather lament the existence of technology than talk about leading their family members who are watching Jimmy Videos. Contact the Comedian by emailing nextdoor@johnbranyan.com . There is a growing debate within Christianity about Christians and their use of cuss words in songs, or in their speech. With @oliveranthonymusic growing in popularity, the question is asked, should professing Christians cuss? I also came across a professing Pastor named Tim Ross and on his Non Christian Podcast @TheBasementPodcast he revealed that he has always cussed and the Lord called him to use that language as bait for unbelievers. On this episode I will discuss these two things and then relate each one to the Scriptures. What do you think? Should Christians cuss? #oliveranthony #politics #cussing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEe35MQBCE8&t=868s

A conversation about outreach and sharing the Gospel and how we could do it better. We are passionate about evangelism here at the 1M Project. According the the Joshua Project, the United States has 15,178,000 people listed as being unreached. This same website uses the following term to describe what ureached means according the them; "An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group without outside assistance. The original Joshua Project editorial committee selected the criteria less than or equal to 2% Evangelical Christian and less than or equal to 5% Professing Christians." Our ministry is based out of Muskegon, Michigan where more than 70% of our population report being unchurched. Given this percentage, that means that there could be as many, if not more than, 123,000 people in our community who have not heard, or simply do not understand the Gospel. On today's show we sit down and talk with, Pastor Rob Cook, from Central United Methodist Church. We talk about his own personal journey with faith, the methodist movement, and different forms of evangelism. Our goal is to unite with our brothers and sisters to evangelize and disciple our community. Let's Connect! GUEST: PETER McCULLOUGH, MD MPH, cardiologist and author, The Courage to Face COVID-19 In early 2020, news reports began to emerge of a new virus from China spreading across the globe called COVID-19. Carried across the ocean via airline passengers, Americans began to catch the respiratory virus with a small percentage even dying of complications. Fear and panic spread even faster than the virus. Would this be the next black plague, which killed 30% to 60% of all Europeans?Medical authorities like the CDC, NIH, and WHO recommended a near-shutdown of society and federal, state, and local governments implemented mandatory masking, physical distancing, closures of businesses, schools, and churches, strictures on travel, and much more. At first we were told to stay put for “15 days to stop the spread”…which turned into more than two years of unprecedented restrictions.2020 just happened (wink, wink) to be a presidential election year. President Donald Trump had led the country to energy independence and a robust economy and looked the heavy favorite to win a second term. But the hysteria created over COVID-19 narrowed the focus of the country to only one issue—“save me from COVID” despite the fact that a small percentage of people who contracted COVID actually died from it.Voting regulations were slackened to allow people to vote early and by mail so there wouldn't be crowding of the polls on election day. Career politician Joe Biden, who hardly campaigned due to fear of COVID, unbelievably (in the literal sense of the word) garnered 81 million votes, the most of any president in history. In late 2020, an experimental-use COVID vaccine was quickly rolled out. This was a new kind of vaccine, not manufactured from a dead virus as usual, but with an mRNA genetic substance that had never been used on the general public. No worries though—videos and photos of public officials and celebrities rolling up their sleeve to receive the shot were meant to assure the public that “the science” had saved us again. The marketing campaign for all Americans to get the shot was relentless. Everyone, and I mean everyone, even those who were not in “susceptible demographics” (old or underlying health problems) were told that getting the vaccine would keep you from getting or transmitting the virus (a lie). Professing Christians like NIH director Francis Collins and Ed Stetzer shamed and guilted Christians that getting the vaccine was about “loving your neighbor”. In the end, 80% of Americans received at least one dose of the vaccine.More could be said, much more actually, but here we are now in early 2023, two years after the release of the vaccine, and chilling reports and videos are surfacing daily of the vaccinated falling over and dying suddenly, typically from cardiac arrest. Suppressed by the media and dismissed by authorities as “disinformation”, the occurrences are indisputable that something has gone terribly wrong.Peter McCullough, MD MPH is our guest today on The Christian Worldview to discuss if the COVID vaccine is causing sudden and excessive deaths. He is a highly respected cardiologist who developed an early treatment protocol for COVID that has saved tens of thousands of lives (including my own parents). For that, and now his stand against the vaccine, Dr. McCullough has been vilified and ostracized by the mainstream medical community.-----------------Related Resources:The Courage to Face COVID by John Leake and Peter McCullough, MD MPH

From Thoughts on the Present Revival of Religion. There has been an unhappy disposition in some ministers toward their brethren in the ministry in this respect, which has encouraged and greatly promoted such a spirit among some of their people. A wrong improvement has been made of Christ's scourging the buyers and sellers out of the temple. It has been expected by some, that Christ was now about thus to purge his house of unconverted ministers- and this has made it more natural to them to think that they should do Christ service, and act as co-workers with him, to put to their hand, and endeavour by all means to cashier those ministers that they thought to be unconverted.

As North American Christians we live lives of relative safety, ease, and even some cultural approval from non-Christians. Therefore, we often think that the greatest threats to the Church will be either physical persecution—that is being arrested for our faith or killed—or cultural persecution—that is us losing our jobs and social standing because our Christian views are incompatible with our culture's. But a look at the Bible and church history would suggest that there is a far greater threat. Do you know what group of people has destroyed more churches than any other throughout history? It's not the Roman Empire, ISIS, or even the Communist regimes of the 20th century. The correct answer—is professing Christians. Professing Christians have done more to damage to the spread of the true Gospel than anyone else. Whether this is the medieval Church that launched the Crusades, or entire denominations that have gone liberal and don't believe in the authority of the Scriptures, or even church pastors who have abused their congregants—false teachers and false followers of Christ. Therefore, one of the greatest threats to the church today is the danger that lies within. The apostle Paul understood this and addresses here in 1 Cor 1:10-17, 1) the deadly danger of division, 2) what division looks like, and 3) how we can defeat it. https://midtownchurch.com/

Professing Christians know that Jesus gave His life for mankind, but what else do they know about Jesus and why He came to earth as a human being? On today's Tomorrow's World program, we'll expose five myths about the Jesus of the Bible. He is, as Bruce Barton wrote, The Man Nobody Knows. How surprising that is, when the world's largest collective religious body claims to worship Him. I'll also be offering you a free resource that shows the depth to which the message of the Bible has been corrupted. John 3:16 is perhaps the most famous of all verses, yet one that says something very different from what people think. Our resource, John 3:16 - Hidden Truths of the Golden Verse explains how little, professing Christians know about Jesus Christ and the message He proclaimed, so be sure to take down our contact information to receive your free copy of our booklet on John 3:16. And stay with me as I will give five commonly held myths about Jesus--myths that you were likely taught by the very ones who should know better.

TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Heartlessness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Kindness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?47 And if you greet only your brothers what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?” (Matthew 5:41-47)We are called to actively love our enemies and do good to those who hate us.Do these words of Jesus nullify the Law? No, because the Law never commanded Israel to hate its enemies—although it only commanded them to love their neighbors (Lev 19:18). Still, there are multiple examples of love shown to enemies in the OT.We are challenged to go far beyond the minimum standard of social / familial decency (kindness to friends and family). We are to love even our enemies! The early church held to this teaching for three centuries:Justin Martyr: “We used to hate and destroy one another. We would not live with men of a different race because of their peculiar customs. However, now, since the coming of Christ, we live intimately with them. We pray for our enemies and endeavor to persuade those who hate us unjustly to live conformably to the good teachings of Christ. We do this to the end that they may become partakers with us of the same joyful hope of a reward from God, the Ruler of all.” First Apology 14. Also: “We who formerly murdered one another now refrain from making war even upon our enemies.” ANF 1.176.Clement of Alexandria: “It is not in war, but in peace, that we are trained.” ANF 2.234.Tertullian: “We willingly yield ourselves to the sword. So what wars would we not be both fit and eager to participate in (even against unequal forces), if in our religion it were not counted better to be slain than to slay? ANF 3.45. He adds, “The Christian does no harm even to his enemy.” ANF 3.45.Cyprian: “Wars are scattered all over the earth with the bloody horror of military camps. The whole world is wet with mutual blood. And murder—which is acknowledged to be a crime in the case of an individual—is called a virtue when it is committed wholesale. Impunity is claimed for the wicked deeds, not because they are guiltless, but because the cruelty is perpetrated on a grand scale!” ANF 5.277.Lactantius: “The Christian considers it unlawful not only to commit slaughter himself, but also to be present with those who do it.” Divine Institutes ANF 7.153. Also: “How can a man be righteous who hates, who despoils, who puts to death? Yet, those who strive to be serviceable to their country do all these things. ...When they speak of the ‘duties' relating to warfare, their speech pertains neither to justice nor to true virtue.” ANF 7.169Aristides: “They comfort their oppressors and make them their friends. They do good to their enemies.” ANF 10.276.Origen: “We are taught not to avenge ourselves upon our enemies. We have therefore lived by laws of a mild and wise character. Although able, we would not make war even if we had received authority to do so. Therefore, we have obtained this reward from God: that He has always fought on our behalf. On various occasions, He has restrained those who rose up against us and desired to destroy us.” Against Celsus 8.Lactantius: “Torture and godliness are widely different. It is not possible for truth to be united with violence or justice to be united with cruelty. …Religion is to be defended—not by putting to death—but by dying. It is not defended by cruelty, but by patient endurance.” Divine Institutes (ANF 7.156-157).The Didache: “If you love those who hate you, you will not have an enemy.” Didache 3Chrysostom: “You should feel grateful to an enemy on account of his wickedness. This is so even if he is evil to you after receiving from you ten thousand kindnesses. For if he were not exceedingly evil, your reward would not be significantly increased. You may say that the reason you do not love him is because he is evil. However, that is the very reason you should love him. Take away the contestant, and you take away the opportunity for the crowns.” Homilies on Hebrews 19.5.Paul taught the same:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. ... 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Rom 12:14, 17-21).To illustrate, when the early Christian leader Polycarp was arrested, he first directed that food and drink be brought to the soldiers who were about to bring him to execution. Martyrdom of Polycarp 7:2The observation of AmmianusRoman soldier and historian Ammianus Marcellinus (c.330-400 AD) noted that rival Christian parties exceeding wild beasts in their hostility toward one another. What changed in the 4th century? The state and the church become inseparably connected. From the disastrous 4th century till the present dayIn the fourth century, most of the Roman emperors professed to embrace Christianity. Nevertheless, they continued to kill their opponents (even family members) and to wage war—ignoring the teaching of Christ. At first, Christians refused to fight in their armies, as in earlier centuries, soldiers who became Christians refused to kill. However, in time the state church relaxed its teachings on nonresistance.Eventually, Augustine (354-430 AD) came up with a rationalization to defend both personal vengeance and war: It's permissible to kill enemies as long as we still “love” them!As a result, fighting, killing and revenge became the norms in medieval “Christian” Europe.Professing Christians waged war against Muslims, pagans, and fellow “Christians.” They persecuted heretics (real or imagined), tortured people, and oppressed the weak in the name of God.Not surprisingly, Catholics and Reformers alike persecuted those genuine Christians who refused to go to war and who spoke out against torture and oppression. Some practicals:Act lovingly towards enemies, strangers, and people we do not like.Take some time to compare Paul's teaching with Jesus's.Invest in learning some early church history, and how the church embraced the teaching of the world regarding enemies.Refuse to take credit for behaving kindly and decently to friends and family. If you're disturbed by any of these teachings, take time to pray.Tomorrow: Perfection

Professing Christians, like their biblical counterparts still justify their sin by twisting Scripture to validate their indulgence. The so-called Christian polygamist is guilty of this. This sermon address the Moral nature of Monogamy. Like other cults, this fringe group will not see or hear what they don't like, this is the earmark of a cult, not Christianity. They focus on the exceptions, not the norm.
Have you ever asked a Christian what the gospel message is? If so, were they able to give you a correct answer? In this episode, we discuss why so many professing Christians can't answer this question correctly. If you are a believer, put yourself to the test, and see if you know the answer. And if you are an unbeliever, see what your Christian friends say when asked this question. We would love to hear your thoughts so be sure to share your comments below! This sermon explains the love of God that is shed abroad in the heart of every believer at the time of regeneration and manifest itself in practical expressions of love toward fellow Christians. Professing Christians who do not love their fellow Christians are still dead in sin.

The social sphere is all stirred with the news of Stephen Hawking’s recent death. Those in the science, physics, and atheistic communities are showering his life as a major accomplishment of research and logic while others, some in these same communities, seem to be harping on the ‘click-bait’ worthy idea that now the grand atheist is no longer an atheist. Before you surmise that I am just gaining my own ‘hooks’ in the sea of non-thinking mobile fodder, I wrote this article the day after his death and waited a week for its publishing. Also, my point today is to point to this ridiculous assertion that Hawking is no longer an atheist. He most certainly is. I also argue that he is no different than many professing Christians, cultists, Muslim and for sure, he’s no different than most red-blooded, right-wing, so-called conservative evangelicals who have mounted this news as an attempt to be a voice when they don’t have one. If anyone is to ever read this, it’s not because of self-promotion but by the Lord’s grace that we should all hear and heed the reality of our culture. Professing Christians who do not believe in the gospel of Grace and worse, hate it when they see it are nothing more than professing Christian Atheists because they do not believe in the God of the Bible and they will not believe in the truth of His gospel. BEWARE. Hear and be saved. By the mercy of God.
1.- False Professing Christians will not do the Will of God the Father--2.- True Christians are Saved through Faith and not by Works of Righteousness--3.- False Professing Christians do not have a Personal Relationship with God

Professing Christians often believe that an acceptance of certain Biblical laws equals a denial of Yeshua the Messiah. Listen to learn that we do deny the Messiah by our actions, but those actions are a breaking of the law rather than a keeping of the law.
