Welcome back to another Trve. Cvlt. Pop! your favourite music chat podcast innit.Steve and Gaz are here, Gaz is feeling pretty ropey and ill, bless him. But that can't take away from the fact that March 2025 was an incredible, and we mean INCREDIBLE, month for new music. There is plenty to round up, meaning you're getting reviews of new releases from: Lady Gaga, clipping., The Wildhearts, The Horrors, Playboi Carty, Steven Wilson, Hotwax, Vulfpeck, Swervedriver, Coheed & Cambria, Backxwash, Bob Mould, Swarmi John Reis, Hamilton Leithauser, Deafheaven, Raging Speedhorn, Girlpuppy, Polly Money, Sacred Paws and Firehills. There's also a review of The Who and Level 42 at The Royal Albert Hall.
The nu metal revival is alive and well in 2025, so much so, that iconic bands from that era are returning to delight long-term fans, while gaining a whole new audience who have yet to experience them. One such band is Northamptonshire, UK's Defenestration. A five-piece who were active between 1999 – 2004, releasing three studio albums (One Inch God – 2001 / Ray Zero – 2003 / For Us it Ends When We Drown – 2004) and one split EP, (Year of the Slug with Scurge – 2002). Not only that, but they also toured all over the world with the likes of Raging Speedhorn, Napalm Death, Biffy Clyro, The Wildhearts, Skindred, and so many more iconic bands. So popular were they, that they opened the Wembley Arena leg of the 2001 'Tattoo the Planet Tour'. A set of shows that included Cradle of Filth, Static-X, Biohazard, Slayer and Pantera. Twenty years after their last live performance as Defenestration, the original members reunited for a ‘one-off' performance. Supporting Raging Speedhorn, the show was to raise money for record producer Russ Russell who was unable to work due to illness. This would be followed by another benefit gig for Russ Russell later in August 2024, Defenestration's first headline show since 2004. The itch was back, and another set of shows with Raging Speedhorn all but confirmed that there was a desire for Defenestration to return as an active band. Which is where we find ourselves now. Defenestration has reformed, is under new management, and is in the process of solidifying their legacy, while looking to the future too. This is what we discuss with vocalist Gen Tasker, getting excited about what the future might bring, while also spending plenty of time look back at their immense history too. Almost two years ago, Gordon Morison regaled us with rock and roll stories of stolen drumkits, run-ins with Slipknot and revenge-based drinking. The perfect fit for our comeback, it only felt natural to kick off the next phase of TOFTP with one of our most popular guests. Joining us from beautiful Wales, Gordon discusses being executed in a music video, the Corby trouser press (that's not from Corby) and a gig that was cancelled after half a song when a 'urination error' blew the venue's power. Standard stuff. Before Gordon joins us, we delve into the thrill rides that are our daily lives. A new vacuum cleaner, making friends with the guy who runs the chippy and the absolute rollercoaster that is owning an air fryer. Tell your friends we're back. Please do tell them though, we'd appreciate that. Please. Thanks.
Thanks so much for coming on Jim!! Be sure to check out Raging Speedhorn and INME on their UK tour next month!!! Keep it Bedlam

I speak to Gordon from Raging Speedhorn! We talk about the 20th Anniversary of their self titled debut album. Experiences from back then and what they are up to now! New album on the way, tours next year including dates with Pitchshifter! Enjoy!
This time we’re joined by Gordon Morison of UK metal veterans Raging Speedhorn! Gordon tells us about the early days of the band and the sacrifices they made to play gigs, how he told Clown from Slipknot to “f*ck off” (it’s fine, they’re mates now) and confesses his love for massive 80s pop tunes. We also get into the new album, the line-up changes the band have been through in the last two decades and the best way to get revenge on your bandmate after a blazing row! Before Gordon joins us we chat about the perils of Facebook advertising, social distance dog meetups and our recently-established Barbadian fanbase. Boom!

This Halloween weekend Desmond Reddick was joined by Davinder and Ian at the Victoria Comic Convention. They talk about celebrity thumb wrestling and zombie walks before Desmond interviews indie film legend Lloyd Kaufman and young indie filmmaker Ryan Nicholson. Enjoy the following terror tunes: "Walk Among Us" by The Misfits, "Dead Man Walking" by Raging Speedhorn, "Legend of the Toxic Avenger" by the 2009 cast of The Toxic Avenger Musical, "I Did it For Love" by Harlequin, and "Scream on Halloween" by The Browns.
