Reeve Carney is an actor, singer-songwriter, and musician, who may be best known for originating the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway, and playing Orpheus in the original Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown. Other notable roles include his portrayal of Dorian Gray in the Showtime series Penny Dreadful, and Riff Raff in the Fox musical television film The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again. Reeve is also the lead singer and songwriter of the band Carney, also consisting of his brother Zane, Aiden Moore, and Jon Epcar, who together have toured with The Veronicas, and opened for Arcade Fire and U2. He recently appeared as Tom Ford in the Oscar nominated film House of Gucci, and can currently be seen performing his original music in his residency at The Green Room 42, or captivating audiences eight times a week as Orpheus in Hadestown on Broadway. Reeve chronicles his almost 27 year guitar playing journey, which began at age 12 and led to playing in nightclubs in LA a few years later, where fellow musicians convinced him if he ever wanted to lead a band, he needed to learn how to sing. He recalls meeting Julie Taymor for the first time at one of his band's shows, and how that meeting set the course for working with Bono and The Edge, and originating the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man on Broadway. Reeve also shares how he became involved with Hadestown, how the character of Orpheus changed significantly between their run at the National Theatre in London and the Broadway opening, and why he said “no” when asked to be a part of the first reading in 2012.  In this episode, we talk about:  Growing up in a family of artists  Being mistaken for Macaulay Culkin Getting signed to Interscope Records when he was 22  His electronic effects pedal company called Quarantine Effects USA How Orepheus's purity of voice is reflected in his character  Connect with Reeve: Check out his Effects Pedal company: https://quarantineeffectsusa.com/ IG: @reevecarney Twitter: @reevecarney Connect with The Theatre Podcast: Support us on Patreon: Patreon.com/TheTheatrePodcast Twitter & Instagram: @theatre_podcast Facebook.com/OfficialTheatrePodcast TheTheatrePodcast.com Alan's personal Instagram: @alanseales Email me at feedback@thetheatrepodcast.com. 00h 00'00" Presentación 00h 04'36" Cabecera 00h 05'44" Inicio 00h 06'44" Road to Hell 00h 13'54" Anyway wind blows / Come home with me / Wedding song 00h 23'53" Epic I 00h 27'57" Livin' it up on top 00h 34'01" All I ever known 00h 40'13" Way down Hadestown 00h 45'27" A gathering storm 00h 48'41" Epic II - Chant 00h 58'02" Hey little songbird 01h 01'53" When the chips are down 01h 04'42" Gone, I'm gone 01h 07'17" Wait for me 01h 12'53" Why we build the wall 01h 18'20" Our Lady of the underground 01h 24'17" Way down Hadestown (Reprise) 01h 28'33" Flowers 01h 32'28" Come with me (Reprise) 01h 34'04" Papers 01h 37'25" Nothing change 01h 38'56" If it's true 01h 43'52" How long? 01h 48'20" Chant (Reprise) 01h 52'53" Epic III 01h 59'27" Promises 02h 04'34" Word to the wise - His kiss, the riot 02h 09'37" Wait for me (Reprise) 02h 15'17" Doubt comes in 02h 20'35" Road to Hell (Reprise) 02h 25'59" We raise our cups 02h 28'00" Conclusiones y agradecimientos Ya sólo queda recordarte que puedes SUSCRIBIRTE GRATUITAMENTE  al canal de podcast de LOVE4MUSICALS,  desde ivoox o itunes para recibir notificación cada vez que se publique un nuevo programa.

After attending Hamilton High School Academy of Music and touring Japan with the Monterey National All-Star Big Band, he began his collegiate studies at University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music majoring in Studio/Jazz Guitar. As a Guitarist and former Oboist, many of his schooling years included performances with Symphony Orchestras and Chamber Groups which lead to an educational background that is equally classical and jazz. This diversity of musical styles and methods helped to form a unique sound that draws just as much from Jazz as it does Delta Blues, Rock and Roll and Impressionism. On top of this, he has performed with a diverse group of jazz artists including John Daversa whose Big Band album "Junk Wagon" and Small Group record "Artful Joy" feature Zane's jazz playing. Outside of session and touring work, Zane is fortunate to have two strong outlets as an artist. Comment on the episode here or write abionicpodcast@gmail.com. Guerin Barry was born in Manhattan and raised in Sunnyside Queens. He went Brooklyn Technical High School and then attended Pratt Institute for architecture. But left to go to work at a radio station in Vermont. From there, he went to Boston to study acting at the Leland Powers School of Radio, Television, and Theatre. By the time he finished acting school he was married and had a son and became a film editor for prominent Boston TV news station, WBZ. His TV work continued in New York as a producer and director for six years before he returned to acting and studied with Milton Katselas while working at an advertising agency. He ultimately moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 1975 to pursue acting full-time. Stage work led to work in commercials (he famously embodied the character of the Mercury Grand Marquis) and supporting roles in movies and guest-starring roles in television (Quincy, Simon & Simon, Step by Step), including the soft-soaked voice of "Alex 7000," the Master Computer who gives who threatens to destroy the world unless Jaime Sommers can stop him in the sensational Bionic Woman two-parter, "Doomsday Is Tomorrow." Guerin's unique voice talent also gave life to the original Dr. Theopolis in the iconic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. He was even up for the voice of K.I.T.T. in Knight Rider but lost to William Daniels. He was also the unseen voice of the "Salem Strangler" on the popular daytime soap, Days of Our Lives. In the 80s, Guerin started a 50s band and played locally for six years, which led to an additional four years touring the globe with the acclaimed 50s rock and roll group, Sha Na Na. When he returned to Hollywood, he focused heavily on voiceover work. He's recorded a dozen audio books, and he's also found himself in the peculiar field of talking toys, for which he is the voice of thousands. Recognized as a "Professional Whistler," Guerin has whistled for many composers of TV, documentary and feature film music, promo music, music libraries and pop recordings. He also whistles live with jazz musicians. He is "On Pitch and On Time." He has whistled for the TV series, LA Law, episode titled "Whistle Stop." He is the only polyphonic whistler in the world, capable of producing two, specific and different notes at the same time. Guerin's voice can also be heard in the popular video games, War of Warcraft and Starcraft. He's appeared in Reeve Carney's music video for "Love Me, Chase Me." And he's currently the deep bass voice of the Doo-Wop group, Dukes of DooWop.
