Dr. Leelo Bush, originator of Spirit-Led, Christian Life Coaching and Master Coach trainer
The Christian Coaching School Podcast is an incredible resource for anyone interested in Christian life coaching. Dr. Leelo Bush, the host of the podcast, delivers clear and concise messages that resonate deeply with listeners. Her teachings have the power to inspire and guide individuals who are looking for fulfillment and purpose in their lives. One of the best aspects of this podcast is Dr. Bush's emphasis on setting goals that are authentic to the individual, rather than trying to please others. This message is powerful and can empower listeners to pursue their own dreams and aspirations without feeling guilty or obligated to satisfy others.
Another great aspect of The Christian Coaching School Podcast is its focus on biblical training and honoring God's word. Dr. Bush has a deep knowledge of scripture and incorporates it into her teachings and coaching practices. This faith-based approach sets this podcast apart from others in the field, as it provides valuable insights and guidance grounded in biblical principles.
Furthermore, Dr. Bush's expertise as a coach shines through in each episode of the podcast. She has a knack for delivering thought-provoking perspectives that challenge conventional thinking and encourage listeners to step outside their comfort zones. Her reassuring voice adds a hopeful element to her teachings, reminding listeners that there is always hope and redemption through Jesus Christ.
However, one potential drawback of this podcast is its narrow focus on Christian life coaching. While Dr. Bush's teachings can be valuable for anyone seeking personal growth or inspiration, some individuals may feel excluded if they do not identify as Christians or resonate with the specific Christian perspective presented in this podcast.
In conclusion, The Christian Coaching School Podcast is an exceptional resource for individuals interested in Christian life coaching or those seeking personal growth rooted in biblical principles. Dr. Leelo Bush's teachings are inspiring, informative, and provide valuable insights into living a fulfilling life guided by God's word. Despite its narrow focus on Christian coaching, this podcast offers wisdom and guidance that can benefit individuals from all walks of life.
In this Spirit-led teaching, Dr. Leelo Bush unpacks the idea of thought conflict—what psychologists call cognitive dissonance—and shows how believers can resolve it through God's truth. By contrasting worldly pressures (like secular accreditation) with biblical principles, she guides listeners to embrace God's way without hesitation. Through scripture, practical tools, and encouragement, she explains how thought conflict is actually evidence of growth and transformation. What You'll Learn How to recognize thought conflict and why it creates discomfort The biblical perspective on double-mindedness (James 1:8) Why saying “yes” to God quickly brings peace and promotion How “bridge thoughts” help transition from old beliefs to new ones The science of neuroplasticity and how it confirms Romans 12:2 Why perseverance through thought conflict is proof of growth Quotable Moment “Thought conflict isn't failure. If you're a Christian, you know God's Word is clear that we should build on truth, not compromise. Second Corinthians 6:14 tells us, do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers than what we allow into our hearts and minds during training. Yet at the same time, the world shouts loudly about accreditation from secular organizations, and many people feel torn. On one side, we want to follow God's truth. On the other, we're afraid we'll miss out if we don't follow what the world says is important. That back and forth can create so much thought conflict that some people even give up before they start, simply because they're not 100% sure what the right choice is. This is just one example of thought conflict, and there are many others. Resolving them is today's topic. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Leelo Bush. I'm a master coach, author, curriculum creator and the number one authority on Spirit-led Christian coaching. I've trained tens of thousands worldwide since 2003, and if you are ready to uplevel your skills, find greater fulfillment, and employ the most powerful coaching available to mankind, let's go. I'm Dr. Leelo Bush, and you're listening to the Christian Coaching School podcast, where we talk about Spirit-led coaching tools for transformation, and how to live and lead with joy and purpose. And before we go further, I would love to invite you to leave a review of this podcast. When you do, you'll be entered into our new listener drawing. I'll be announcing winners right here on the podcast, and you could win a gift card just for sharing your feedback. So let's dig into this idea of thought conflict. Psychologists call it cognitive dissonance, but I prefer to put it in plain language. It's when two opposing thoughts collide inside your head and create discomfort. One part of you says this is the right way. The other part says, no, that's too risky, stay where you are. It's like being pulled in two directions at once. And doesn't that sound exactly like what James wrote about in chapter 1, verse 8? A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Here's the key, though. When we pick God's way, even if it doesn't agree with the world, it's often a test. God uses these moments to see if we are ready for promotion, or ready for the next level of responsibility in His kingdom. If we choose wrong, if we keep wavering, we often find ourselves circling around that same mountain again, repeating the same lesson until we finally learn to say yes to Him. And thought conflict makes this hard because it feels like a battle inside your mind. But friend, the truth is that battle is the very evidence that growth is happening. Jesus said in Matthew 5:37, let your yes be yes and your no be no. When God calls you to something, the best thing you can do is settle it quickly in your spirit. Yes means yes and follow through. The longer you linger in indecision, the more exhausting that thought conflict becomes. Let me give you a picture. Imagine two shores with a river in between. On one side are your current beliefs, the ones you've held for years. On the other side are your new beliefs, the ones God is calling you to embrace. To get across, you have to step into that river of discomfort. That's that conflict. It's uncomfortable. It feels risky, but it's also the only way to cross over. If you avoid the river, you stay stuck on the wrong side, looking at the life you want but never entering it. And sometimes you don't cross in one leap. That's where what I call bridge thoughts come in. If your old thought was, “I can't do this,” and the new thought is “I can do all things through Christ,” you may not fully believe that yet. So you start with a bridge thought, something like this: “With God's help, I can try.” That's believable. That's a step of faith. Over time, that grows into confidence. It's the way God builds endurance in us, step by step, faith to faith. Science actually helps us understand why thought conflict feels so uncomfortable. Our brains are wired for efficiency. The neural pathways we've been using for years—the old thoughts, the old beliefs—they're like well-paved highways. Your brain can travel them quickly without much effort. But when you introduce a new belief, it's like hacking a trail through the woods. At first, it feels awkward and clumsy, and your brain resists because it prefers the smooth, familiar road. That's why it feels so hard to let go of old beliefs and embrace new ones. It isn't just weakness on our part. It's our brain doing what it thinks is best to conserve energy. The problem is left unchecked, that instinct will keep us trapped in the same patterns year after year. This is exactly why Romans 12:2 tells us, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Notice it doesn't say one-time renewal. It's a continual renewing, over and over, creating new pathways of thought until the truth of God's Word becomes the natural highway your brain takes—or you might consider it a default setting. Think about it. Every time you practice a new thought, like “With God's help, I can do this,” you are literally building a new neural pathway. At first, it's faint and fragile. But as you keep practicing, that pathway strengthens, while the old one begins to weaken from lack of use. What once felt impossible eventually becomes second nature. So when you are experiencing thought conflict, don't interpret that discomfort as failure. It's actually proof that your brain is in the middle of rewiring. You're pulling away from old lies and teaching your mind to align with God's truth. And yes, that takes effort, but it also means you're on the right track. Let me encourage you with this: the same God who designed your brain gave you the ability to change it. Science calls it neuroplasticity. Scripture calls it renewal. Both point to the same truth—that you don't have to stay stuck in old ways of thinking. Through Christ, you have the power to be transformed, not just spiritually, but mentally, emotionally, and practically. So instead of fearing thought conflict, see it as evidence that your brain is doing the hard but holy work of change. You're tearing down the old highways and building new ones that lead directly to the destiny that God has prepared for you. And speaking of stepping into what God's called you to do, this is exactly why I am so passionate about equipping more Christians to serve with confidence in their calling. Right now is enrollment season for our Christian coaching, counseling, and specialty coaching training and certification programs. You can also find this link in our show notes. Let's get you trained, certified and ready to make an even greater Kingdom impact. Now let's bring this back. Thought conflict is not something to fear. It's part of the process of growth. Every time you set a goal, every time you move toward your calling, your old beliefs will rise up to challenge your new ones. It's perfectly normal. The enemy wants you to think it's a sign to quit, but really, it's a sign to persevere. Because once you cross the river, once you settle your yes with God, you'll look back and realize that what once felt impossible is now second nature. So my encouragement to you today is this: next time you feel that inner tug of war, pause and ask, “Lord, which way is Your way?” And when He shows you, don't hesitate. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Say yes quickly. Step forward, even if it feels uncomfortable. Because that is how God promotes you, grows you, and moves you into the life He has prepared for you. So as we close, remember thought conflict isn't failure. It's preparation. It's the sound of growth in progress. Don't run from it. Embrace it as part of the process of becoming the person God has called you to be. And then one glance from someone made you shrink inside? Or maybe you've had the opposite happen where something clicked deep inside you and suddenly you felt unstoppable. What if you could have that kind of confidence every single day? The kind that no one and nothing could shake. Today we're talking about exactly that. And I call it Godfidence. If you've ever wished that you could have unshakable, lasting confidence, the kind that doesn't crumble the moment someone gives you a funny look, you're in the right place. Today we're talking about a very specific kind of confidence—God-given confidence. I like to call it Godfidence. I don't remember where it came from, but if it's not in the dictionary, it should be. And unlike the confidence the world gives, this one won't vanish when the circumstances change. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Leelo Bush. I'm a master coach, author, curriculum creator, and the number one authority on Spirit-led Christian coaching. I've trained tens of thousands worldwide since 2003, and if you are ready to uplevel your skills, find greater fulfillment, and employ the most powerful coaching available to mankind, let's go. Welcome back, my friends. I am so glad you're here today because we're diving into one of the biggest struggles I hear from people, especially believers. They'll say, “I just wish I felt more confident.” Some people think confidence is a personality type. You're either born with it or you're not. Others think it's about accomplishments—that once they've achieved a certain goal, then they'll feel confident. But what if I told you that real, lasting confidence doesn't come from either of those things? The truth is confidence that lasts—the kind that can weather storms and setbacks—is built on something the world can't give you and can't take away. And once you have it, you can pass it on to others. Confidence isn't just about feeling good about yourself. It's about stepping into what God has called you to do without being paralyzed by fear or doubt. Hebrews 10:35 says, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” When you know God has called you, confidence allows you to move forward even when you can't see the whole path. Society's version of confidence says you're awesome because you're beautiful, smart, or successful. God's version says you're equipped because I am with you. The world's confidence is like a helium balloon. It's fun while it's floating. But one sharp word from someone and—pop—it's gone. God's confidence is more like a deep-rooted oak tree. The winds can blow, the rains can pour, but you're still standing because your roots are anchored in His truth. Let's clear up another myth. Confidence is not a personality trait. It's not a case of some people have it and some people don't. It's a skill. And for the believer, it's also a choice. Think about David in the Bible. When he faced Goliath, he wasn't confident because he had the whole army behind him. In fact, they were hiding. He wasn't confident because he was the tallest, strongest warrior. He was confident because he knew God was with him, and that made all the difference. If your confidence is based on how well you did last time, how many people approve of you, or whether life is going smoothly, it will always be shaky. But when it's built on what God says about you—that you were chosen, you are loved, and you are equipped—it becomes steady. And here's the test: if your confidence disappears when circumstances change, it's fleeting. If it remains when things go wrong, it's lasting. Fleeting confidence says, “I nailed that presentation, so I feel good about myself.” Lasting confidence says, “Even if I stumble through this presentation, my worth and calling haven't changed.” The confidence the world offers is like an energy drink. It gives you a quick boost, but then you crash. God's confidence is living water. It keeps renewing and sustaining you. I remember a time early in my career when I was invited to present to a large group of community leaders. It was a big opportunity, and of course I wanted to make a strong impression. Right before I went up to speak, someone leaned over and whispered, “You know, these people are used to hearing from nationally known speakers. You might want to keep your talk short.” My first reaction—my stomach dropped. That little voice of doubt tried to tell me, “You're not qualified to be here.” But then I took a deep breath, silently prayed, “Lord, this is Your message, not mine,” and walked up with my head held high. The moment I started speaking, peace came over me. I knew I wasn't standing there in my own strength, and my words rolled out of me like I was a pro. It was like I was there in body, but someone else was controlling my message that day. It wasn't my polished words that made an impact—it was God's presence. And that's when I realized: when your confidence comes from Him, nobody can take it away. You might have heard this referred to as an anointing. And speaking of stepping into what God's called you to do, this is exactly why I am so passionate about equipping more Christians to serve with confidence in their calling. Right now is enrollment season at PCCCA for our Christian Coaching, counseling, and specialty coaching training and certification programs. These are the very courses that give you the skills, tools, and credentials to help others create transformation while growing in your own walk and purpose. If you've been feeling that nudge from the Lord to step forward in coaching or ministry—or whatever your particular calling is—this is the perfect time to say yes. You can find all the details and enroll today at PCCCA.org/courses. Let's get you trained, certified, and ready to make an even greater Kingdom impact. So how do you shift from self-doubt to Godfidence? It starts with agreement—agreeing with what God says about you, even if your feelings haven't caught up yet. Instead of saying, “What if I fail?” you start saying, “If God called me to this, He'll equip me for it.” Instead of thinking, “I'm not good enough,” you remind yourself, “In Christ I am more than enough for this moment.” Confidence is not arrogance. Arrogance says, “I'm better than you.” Godfidence says, “I'm secure in who I am, and you're amazing too.” For me, Godfidence grows when I go back to my source. Daily time in the Word keeps my mind renewed because what we believe shapes everything. I also practice taking baby bold steps. Every time I say yes to God, even in something small, it builds my trust. I don't entertain self-doubt like it's a welcome houseguest. I speak life over myself and over others because words create belief. And I make it a habit to remember what God has already done in my life—because His track record is perfect. And here's the beautiful part: we're not meant to keep Godfidence to ourselves. I remember coaching a young woman who had such a powerful testimony but was terrified to share it. She told me she was not a speaker and she didn't know what to say. I looked her straight in the eye and said, “This isn't about being a speaker. It's about being obedient.” We worked together on a short version of her story, prayed before she went on stage, and I watched as she stepped up with shaking hands. And then the Spirit took over. The response she got that night was overwhelming. People came up in tears thanking her for her courage. Later she told me, “If you hadn't believed in me, I wouldn't have been able to do it.” But what I really wanted her to see was that it wasn't my belief that mattered—it was God's. And that's the power of imparting Godfidence, friend. The world's confidence will tell you, “You can do it if you believe in yourself.” Godfidence says, “You can do it because you believe in Him.” You don't have to wait until you feel ready, because with God, you already are. And when you live in this kind of confidence, it doesn't just change your life—it's contagious. People around you start to rise too. So this week, take one step that scares you just a little, but do it with the full assurance that God is with you. And if you see someone else shrinking back, speak courage into them. Pass it on. That's how we build a confident, faith-filled community. I'm Dr. Leelo Bush, and you've been listening to the Christian Coaching School podcast. Carry what you learned today into the lives of those who need it most. And I'll meet you in the next episode. So obviously she had to wait until Monday. And then of course, Monday wasn't good either. Because there were leftovers. That's how starting works, doesn't it? It always feels like it should happen later. But here's the thing. Waiting doesn't get us anywhere. Today we're talking about why fear of starting feels so powerful and how you can finally take that first step, even when it feels scary. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Doctor Leelo Bush. I'm a master coach, author, curriculum creator, and the number one authority on Spirit-led Christian coaching. I've trained tens of thousands worldwide since 2003. And if you are ready to uplevel your skills, find greater fulfillment, and employ the most powerful coaching available to mankind, let's go. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Doctor Leelo Bush, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. Whether you're a long-time listener or if this is your first time joining us, you are in the right place. This is where we talk about Christian coaching, counseling, and life transformation from a biblical perspective, always with practical tools you can use right away. Today's episode is one I know will encourage you, because we're talking about overcoming the fear of starting, or what I call breaking the start barrier. Sometimes we can identify it as it's happening, and sometimes it happens unconsciously. But I believe any of us can fall victim to this. If you've ever had a God-given dream, an idea, or a goal you couldn't seem to begin, you're in the right place. This episode is going to help you move past fear, silence those voices that say you're not ready, and step forward in faith with courage. Starting anything new often feels like skydiving without a parachute. Our brains are wired to keep us safe, not to make us successful. That primitive part of our mind would rather you stay right where you are—comfortable, familiar, predictable. It's why your heart races and your inner voice starts shouting, “Danger!” the moment you think about beginning something new. I'll admit I've done the same thing. I delayed writing my first book for months because I told myself I didn't have the time to do it right. The truth? I had the time to do whatever was important to me, just like you do. I just hadn't made it a priority. And once it became a priority, I got it done. You might be familiar with my book, The Comprehensive Christian Coach Handbook. It's gotten great reviews, and now it's in its second edition. In case you'd like to read it, you can find it on Amazon and lots of other booksellers. You can either search the title or my name to find it, and I'll also put a link in the show notes for you. But here's the reality. Everybody feels constrained by something. In my case, it was lack of time. You might not feel ready for other reasons. Even those among us who look fearless on the outside have to battle that same dread. And let me be real with you—this message is for me as much as it is for you. You may know I've been in the online education industry for over 22 years now. Over that time, I've created programs, trained thousands, and built a strong institution. Since 2003, we have been early adopters in Christian coaching and creators of the Flow Spirit-led coaching model, and so much more. But here's something you probably don't know. There has been one particular piece of software I've had my eye on for nearly that entire time, and never fully mastered. Because of that, we haven't always grown to our full potential. Now, don't get me wrong—we are thriving and strong. But this one missing piece has been like a puzzle with only one corner done. Well, this past weekend I finally decided it was time. I immersed myself in learning it. Yes, I could have hired someone to do it, and I'm sure that would have been easier. But I believe at the core we need to understand the systems we rely on so that if something goes wrong, we can troubleshoot with confidence. And here's the good news. After nearly two decades of delay, it's finally complete. It's a major milestone that will make a huge difference in our reach. But I share these stories with you for a reason—because we all share the same challenges with starting. And sometimes, like me, we can put it off for months or years, even decades, when deep down we know it's important. My prayer for you is that your thing doesn't take 20 years to conquer like mine did. And this is where I love to lean on God's Word. Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” Isn't that liberating? You don't have to start alone. God is right there with you at the starting line, ready to support you when you obediently step into your calling. And speaking of stepping into what God has called you to do, this is exactly why I am so passionate about equipping you to serve with confidence in your calling. Right now is enrollment season for our Christian coaching, counseling, and specialty coaching training and certification programs. These are the very courses that give you the skills, tools, and credentials to help others create transformation while growing in your own walk and purpose. If you've been feeling that nudge from the Lord to step forward in your calling, this is the perfect time to say yes. You can find all the details and enroll today at pccca.org/courses. Let's get you trained, certified, and ready for God to promote you to make an even greater kingdom impact. Now let's talk about what fear of starting can look like in our everyday lives. Because it doesn't just make you hesitate. It whispers lies that sound almost believable. Fear tells you you're not ready, so you wait, thinking you'll start when you're smarter, richer, thinner, or more prepared. But here's the truth—readiness is not something that comes before the journey. It's something that develops along the way. Fear also says you need to know everything before you begin. But life doesn't work like a GPS that shows you the entire route. More often, God gives you just the next turn. You step out, and then the path ahead becomes clear. Action brings clarity. Waiting only brings more waiting and missing out on opportunities. And then there's the big one: “If you fail, it'll be a disaster.” Fear paints the worst-case scenario—people will laugh, you'll lose everything. But failure isn't final. It's actually a learning experience. Either we succeed or we learn something. It's sometimes even more valuable than succeeding right away. It builds character and demonstrates your obedience to God. I didn't understand this when I was young. Each time I would try and fail at something, I would suffer with failure shame, when it was actually part of my growth into the person I am today. Not a bad thing at all, but because I didn't know that then, I wasted a lot of time worrying about it. Thankfully, it didn't stop me from trying. The truth is, most of the time nobody is even paying attention as closely as you think, and when you stumble, it's feedback—not the end. Fear exaggerates. It invents stories that are bigger than reality. It's like a bad fortune teller that never gets it right, yet we keep listening. The good news is, we don't have to believe those lies anymore. So if fear is whispering lies, how do you break through and finally begin? The first step is to shrink the action down to something so small it's almost laughable. If you want to write a book, type a single sentence. If you want to run a marathon, put on your sneakers and walk to the mailbox. Small steps disarm fear because they're hard to argue with. The second key is to stop keeping it to yourself. Fear loves silence. It thrives in isolation. But the moment you speak your goal out loud—whether to a trusted friend, a mentor, or even in a small online group—you begin to create accountability. Suddenly, you're not just thinking about it. You're moving toward it. And third, remember momentum. Think of fear like a huge boulder sitting in the road. The hardest part is moving it that first inch. But once it starts rolling, you don't need nearly as much effort to keep it going. Your job isn't to move the boulder a mile today. It's just to nudge it forward an inch. One inch today, another tomorrow. And before long, fear is no longer in charge. One of my favorite tools is what author Mel Robbins calls the Five-Second Rule. You count down: five, four, three, two, one—and then you act. You don't debate. You don't overthink. You just move. And that tiny action, taken quickly, often opens the door for a bigger breakthrough. Breaking what I call the start barrier isn't about erasing fear. It's actually about refusing to let fear have the loudest voice in the room. You'll never feel completely ready. I don't, and you don't have to. Courage is not the absence of fear. It's choosing to move forward in spite of it. And once you begin, momentum takes over. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Notice it doesn't say wait until you have the perfect plan or the perfect resources. It says commit. Start. Step out in faith. And as you do, God moves pieces into place that you could never have arranged on your own. So here's my challenge for you today: don't wait for the perfect Monday, or the perfect circumstances, or the perfect plan. Take one small step toward the thing God has been nudging you to do. Just one. Maybe it's sending that email, or opening a notebook, or making a phone call, or visiting our courses page. Whatever it is, don't overthink it. Just start. Because the sooner you begin, the sooner you'll see God multiply your efforts. And remember, I'm saying this to myself just as much as I'm saying it to you. This is a message I need too. But together we can stop waiting, stop delaying, and start walking forward into the calling God has for us. I'm Doctor Leelo Bush, and you've been listening to the Christian Coaching School podcast. Use what you learned today and carry it into the lives of those who need it most. And I'll meet you in the next episode. Making excuses can be cringeworthy. It's awkward for the person saying it and just as uncomfortable for the person hearing it—especially when we both know better. Yet we still do it, wrapping fear or procrastination in pretty words and hoping no one notices. It's been a while, but I've done it. How about you? Today we're going to pull back the curtain, audit those excuses, and replace them with ownership, because nothing feels better than living aligned with your calling—excuse free. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Leelo Bush. I'm a master coach, author, curriculum creator, and the number one authority on Spirit-led Christian coaching. I've trained tens of thousands worldwide since 2003. And if you are ready to up-level your skills, find greater fulfillment, and employ the most powerful coaching available to mankind—let's go. Welcome back. I'm Dr. Leelo Bush, and today we're cutting through the "can't because" clutter. I've trained and certified thousands of coaches worldwide over the last 22 years, and as a result, I have watched many people rise to great heights. But unfortunately, too many people with God-given potential stay stuck because of a handful of worn-out excuses. Entering a new school year, I thought the timing of this episode would be perfect if you are stuck with excuses. We will do an audit and end their bondage today. Excuses look harmless, but they are silent dream killers. They feel justified. They can sound logical and keep you stuck. Today we're going to expose them, dismantle them, and replace them with unstoppable ownership. Since school is back in session, it's your turn. If you've been feeling the nudge to step into your calling as a Christian life coach, counselor, or specialty coach, the Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy—otherwise lovingly called PCCCA—has world-class training for you to help you get there. I encourage you to visit PCCCA.org/courses where you will find all the details, because the future you are praying for isn't going to build itself. Excuses are not harmless. They quietly chip away at your confidence. They limit your opportunities and shrink the vision that God has placed in your heart. An explanation tells the truth and points toward a solution. An excuse stops the conversation, locks the door, and throws away the key. The cost of excuse-making is massive. You lose opportunities you can't get back. You delay callings God already equipped you to fulfill. And you settle for a smaller life than the one you were created to live. Here's the dangerous part: most excuses feel justified. You're tired. You've been hurt. You don't have time, money, or support. But when you stop there, you have given the excuse the final word. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” If Christ is your strength, the excuse has no authority. I remember when my daughter was in elementary school and taking ballet classes. She was really talented, and the teacher gave her solo lessons to do a solo dance in the recital. But she was terrified. When we talked about it, we decided that whenever she felt afraid, she would repeat, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” And to this day, if she feels unsure about moving forward, she goes back to that scripture. We all get those feelings, but the Word has power—not because of who says it, but because it is the Word of God. We have to remember that excuses have a language, and once we recognize it, we will hear it everywhere. “I'm too busy.” “I'm not ready.” “I'm waiting for the right time.” Those can sound harmless, but they are all code for avoiding action. Look for patterns. Do you use the same excuse in your health, relationships, finances, or spiritual growth? If so, it's not circumstantial—it's habitual. Proverbs 26:13 says, “The sluggard says, ‘There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets.'” Excuses are just imaginary lions keeping us from moving forward. But what's beneath the excuse? Excuses don't live in our words—they live in the mind and heart, wired into the brain. Every excuse we make is really a protective response from our nervous system, rooted in emotion. At the core, excuses are survival tools—the brain's way of avoiding perceived threats to our safety, identity, or sense of belonging. When you're faced with a challenge that feels overwhelming, the amygdala—the part of your brain constantly scanning for danger—lights up like a warning siren. Its job is to keep you safe, but sometimes it overreacts. It doesn't know the difference between stepping onto a stage to share your testimony and stepping in front of a hungry lion. It just says “danger” and looks for the fastest escape route. That's where excuses are born. The brain then recruits the prefrontal cortex, our reasoning center. But when you're stressed or anxious, your prefrontal cortex gets hijacked. Instead of helping you move forward, it starts manufacturing logical-sounding reasons to avoid the risk. And because those reasons sound rational, you accept them without question. This is why excuses often feel justified—they are supported by your brain's best lawyer, even when built on fear, not fact. Your brain's default wiring has three goals: avoid pain, increase pleasure, and conserve energy. This was useful when survival meant escaping predators and finding food. But in modern life, that wiring resists discomfort, challenge, or the unfamiliar—even when those lead to growth. Then there's your identity network—the deep wiring of beliefs about who you are and what's possible for you. If your internal story says, “I'm not the kind of person who succeeds at this,” your brain will work to protect that story, even if it limits you. Most people base their sense of what's possible on the past, not the future. But the past is not a good indicator of possibility. If it were, we'd never have developed planes, mobile phones, or countless other advances. People often confuse excuses with boundaries. Boundaries protect your values and priorities, coming from clarity and love. Excuses protect your comfort zone. One brings peace and alignment, the other brings guilt and frustration. Boundaries leave you feeling empowered; excuses leave you feeling smaller. Second Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control.” That's your wiring in Christ—the Spirit designed you for power, love, and sound judgment. Every time you challenge an excuse, you weaken the old fear pathway and strengthen the neural circuit for courage and action. This is proven neuroscience. Here's how to shift: Name your choices out loud. Instead of “I can't because,” say “I choose not to because.” This admits you have the power to change it. If you don't like the choice, change it on the spot. Interrupt excuses as they form by asking, “What's the real truth here?” Upgrade your self-talk. Replace “I don't have time” with “I haven't made time yet.” Replace “I'm bad with money” with “I haven't learned money skills yet.” Create an ownership anchor—a quick physical trigger like snapping your fingers, tapping your chest, or standing taller—to remind yourself to move from retreat to responsibility. Track your wins. Progress, even small, proves you're rewriting your story. Taking ownership isn't about perfection—it's about refusing to give your excuses the final word. Every shift reclaims more territory from fear, delay, and self-sabotage, moving you closer to the life God has for you. You don't need another year with the same old excuses. God's calling on your life is too important to keep hitting snooze. Ownership is freedom. Excuses are chains. If today's episode gave you a breakthrough or fresh perspective, share it with a friend. In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush unveils the true condition of being stuck, offers questions to help you uncover why you're feeling stuck, and shares the most effective ways to get unstuck. [02:07] Introduction [03:12] The True Condition of Feeling Stuck [06:44] The First Step to Getting Unstuck [09:41] Reasons Why Your Clients Are Feeling Stuck [13:48] My Top Five Coaching Questions to Getting Unstuck [16:28] Bible Verses For Overcoming Fear [18:49] Parting Thoughts The Real Condition of Feeling Stuck What is being stuck and how can it happen? When it comes to being stuck, here's something that you might not have considered. First, all of us will feel stuck on something at one point or another. The truth is, though, that someone is never actually stuck. Yes, you might be feeling impatient or frustrated, but being stuck is not a real thing. As soon as you say to yourself that you are stuck, that's precisely how you'll feel. So be careful what you allow yourself to think and what you say to yourself. Feeling stuck comes from a gap in time when not much is going on. We begin to feel anxious when we think that things should be otherwise. So when you get down to it, being stuck is just a thought in our brain. It's the way we have chosen to perceive this period of our lives. Once we recognize this, we can manage our thoughts and reconsider what we're making this mean so that we struggle less. The First Step to Getting Unstuck One of the times that we may feel the most stuck is when we're waiting for an answer from God, or a sign on the direction we're supposed to take. We'll wait for everything to be just perfect and pray for God to give us a sign. Unfortunately, God has His own timing and it may not be the same as ours. The more impatient we get, the longer it seems to take, as though God were stretching us. Remember, God orders the steps of the righteous. If we are here, it's because we're supposed to be here. We can't control what life brings; only God can do that. So when we acknowledge that we can't control our lives, we gain more peace, and that's an important part of becoming or remaining unstuck. In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush breaks down how self-awareness on the part of the coach is crucial and how it will optimize your skills and / or a step-by-step coaching plan. [01:02] Introduction [02:12] Why Christian Coaches Should Be Concerned About Self Image [05:00] How to Make The Shift From Wearier to Warrior [08:29] The Importance of Christian Coaches Knowing Their True Self [10:59] You Owe it to Your Clients to Work on Your Self Image [14:01] The Benefits of Taking Care of Your Physical Self [16:40] Dr. Bush's 60+ Pound Weight Loss From Her New Self Image [20:15] The Bible Discourages Excess Why Christian Coaches Should Be Concerned About Self-Image Christian coaching is all about improving the lives of others. So why should we, as Christian coaches, be concerned about our self-image? Well, primarily because how we look at ourselves impacts how we look at everything else. It filters our thoughts on everything and determines whether we will react with courage or shrink back. Unfortunately, when determining our self-image, many of us get caught up with false standards and judge ourselves based on intelligence, wisdom, health, experience, age, gender, talent, or righteousness. But here's the thing; focusing on your self-image is neither selfish nor egotistical. Yet it's sad to see so many of God's people walk around without really understanding who they are. Dr. Bush believes that the only way to become an influential coach is to become completely aware of who you are. Also, understand that improving your self-image is not a one-and-done process. It's something you'll have to do for the entirety of your life. And if you haven't given it much thought, now's a good time to do so. The Benefits of Taking Care of Your Physical Self Taking care of our self-image will naturally lead to taking good care of our physical selves. And there are three major reasons for this. First, if we don't feel good, then it's going to be difficult for us to perform our work with excellence. Second, if we don't maintain our grooming and appearance, how will we gain the respect of others who would follow our lead? And third, if you had a choice to do business with someone, would you choose a well-groomed, neat individual or a sloppy, unkempt person? This is just practical. All this ties neatly into how we dress and being mindful of what we eat. We need to make sure that we consume a balanced diet. If you're unhappy with your weight, you can do something about it. Dr. Bush understands how hard this can be. But after her 60-plus pound weight loss over the last 18 months, she knows how to achieve this. And you, too, can achieve this because God will support you, as His ambassador. That said, your attempts may be in vain unless your self-image supports the new lifestyle and eating habits of a slender person. And this begins with our thoughts, which define our self-image. [01:08] Fear of uncertainty [02:37] Are we chasing the right goal? [06:06] Importance of having goals [07:28] 3 signs you are chasing the wrong goal [12:44] How to set the right goal Choosing Faith Over Uncertainty It's not unusual for people to find themselves afraid to set goals due to a fear of uncertainty, not knowing that God has a destined plan already planned out for them. The moment we are born, God already made a unique path for each one of us to follow. This path was made in reflection of His love for His creation and fulfillment of His purpose. Fearing uncertainty should not stop people from crafting their goals as the outcome of how you get to your goal was already predetermined by God. Taking a step back and praying for God's guidance will aid in overcoming the fear of uncertainty. Signs that You're Chasing the Wrong Goal You are unhappy in the process of doing your day-to-day tasks in the hopes of achieving your goal You are following goals seeded by external influences You are following goals out of fear Having the Right Goals The idea of identifying if you have the right goal stems from God's blueprint crafted before each of us are born. Today Dr. Leelo Bush shares the unique storytelling gifts of Dani Johnson to create a deeper understanding of talent and abilities. The goal is to understand one's God-given gifts and by doing so, increasing our confidence in what we can accomplish. [01:55] Parable of the Talents [03:04] Useful Reflections on the Parable [05:51] The First Servant's Success [08:45] The Optimistic Second Servant [11:19] The Fall of the Third Servant [17:17] Personalize conclusions from the Parable Talents are Gifts from God The discussion on abilities and talents stems from the idea that these are God-given gifts one receives once they are born. While some are gifted with many talents and others with just one, the important lesson one needs to take away from this is how well can one utilize their gifts. The idea of fear, rejection, and failure are some of the driving factors to why individuals fail to shine with their God-given abilities. Only with the spirit of encouragement, and the trust you have in God in utilizing your gifts, will make you a more capable and confident person. The Parable of the Talents The perfect example of proper utilization of gifts is the Parable of the Talents. Here, 3 servants are given various talents each according to their abilities. With a spirit of excellence and diligence, the first 2 servants, despite having different talents, managed to find success in utilizing what they are given. The same cannot be said for the third, who opted to hide their talent due to the lack of trust and personal insecurities. The parable teaches listeners that despite the number of talents you receive, how you maximize it will be the determining factor whether you succeed in the future. For 2 of the servants, being hardworking, having the right attitude and confidence were the key to success. This is the key takeaway to what the parable wants listeners to get from today's episode. In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush talks about self-love and unconditional love and why both are essential to you and your coaching practice. [01:50] Coaching with self-love [05:48] Unconditional love and self-love [10:55] Distortions about love [16:02] How do we love ourselves? [21:29] 20 Days to Self-Love Coaching Questions Choosing Unconditional Love You might find that some people are harder to love than others. But God has commanded us to “love your neighbor as yourself”. To practice unconditional love, we must first begin with our thoughts. The way we think affects our feelings. Be intentional with your thoughts as described in this episode and love will always be readily available to you. How to Cultivate Self-Love As children, some of us may have developed distorted ideas about love because of our personal experiences. It's important to keep in mind that other people or external situations don't define you. Instead, remember that you are a beloved child of God. We have value not because of our good works, but because we have been saved by His grace. Self-love is not just an optional feeling, rather it's an obligation to take care of ourselves. Our body is the temple of God, so we must care for our health in all aspects. We must also learn to let go of unnecessary guilt and shame. These can be barriers to self-love. God has already forgiven our sins, so we must do the same. Always strive to cultivate healthy self-love, without letting it turn into boastfulness or entitlement. The 20 Days to Self-Love Coaching Questions List (answer 1 each day within your journaling and review past question answers) What are some positive ways that I have changed over the last three years? In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush tackles the dos and don'ts of coaching and helping victims of abuse. [03:48] Abuse and Domestic Violence in Today's Society [04:11] Understanding the Different Types of Abuse [07:09] How Coaching Can Improve the Life of an Abuse Victim [10:10] What is the Cycle of Abuse? [14:59] The Abuse and Domestic Violence Coaching Process [18:55] Self-Care for Coaches Helping Abuse Victims [21:40] Parting Thoughts How Abuse Survivors Can Benefit From Coaching Domestic abuse is a traumatic, life-altering experience that, unfortunately, most people in today's society have lived through personally. The number of domestic abuse cases has been rising these past few years, yet the number of people seeking help is on a frustrating decline. And while recovering from abuse takes time and demands ongoing support, there is help. Reach out to a coach who will support, educate, validate, and empower you on your journey to healing. Survivors of domestic abuse can be in a fragile state, and it can be challenging for outsiders to empathize with them. But if you are a coach, this specialty can be full of landmines, and if you're not trained, you can do more harm than good. Disclaimer, do not try to coach on this topic if you are not properly trained. Domestic Abuse is More Than Just Physical Abuse When the word abuse is mentioned, most people automatically think of physical violence. And while physical abuse is what's common in most relationships, abuse is so much more than just physical. It can be physical, emotional, verbal, financial, or sexual. But the most important thing to understand is that no form of violence is more or less important than the other. As long as somebody is getting hurt, then something needs to be done. If you are in a place where you are experiencing any abuse, please reach out for help. Yes, all types of abuse are different, they are all heartbreaking, and no one ever deserves to experience them. And if you feel called to coach others in this specialty, reach out to Dr. Bush and express your interest in this training by emailing admin@pccca.org RESOURCES: Comprehensive Christian Coach Handbook: www.amazon.com/Comprehensive-Christian-Coach-Handbook-Second/dp/0692853634 Spirit-Led Marketing: pccca.org/slm Join the Courageous Christian Coaching Tribe: pccca.org/tribe Free Christian Coaching Masterclass: pccca.org/getcertified
In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush teaches about how to avoid some common pitfalls and detours to our destiny as a coach. [01:20] Comprehensive Christian Coach Handbook [05:07] Avoiding detours to your destiny [08:15] New Age coaching [13:42] Why exclusively study and practice Christian coaching? [23:54] Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and hypnosis [26:21] Uncompromising values and faith The error of combining faith and worldly methods As a young believer in her 20s, Dr. Leelo thought it made sense to take the best parts of both coaching practices and apply them. But this only resulted in frustration, for Dr. Leelo could not progress until she understood the divine truth: that all answers can ultimately only come from God. Secular coaching encourages people to believe in what feels natural. All teachings are equal. There is no one right way to do things. This line of thinking is dangerous, leading us down a path of moral relativism. Spirit-led coaching, marketing, & business No matter what man does, his methods will never be greater than God's. For this reason alone, we need to turn to God for inspiration. By patronizing new age or secular / humanistic courses and materials, Satan's deceptions are being forwarded creating confusion, deception and ambivalence toward God's plan. Instead, we should remain steadfast and uncompromising in our faith. We must remain committed to Christian coaching so as not to confuse clients. Be vocal about your disapproval of worldly teachings and be honest in promoting your services and business. God has given us our talents to serve Him. When we do, we will bear much fruit. In today's episode of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, Dr. Leelo Bush teaches how to create an emotion adjustment. [01:23] Why should we care about negative emotions? [03:27] Different types of negative emotions. [07:02] Where do emotions come from? [09:39] How to create emotion adjustments. Identifying Negative Emotions There are four main categories of negative emotions: fear, anxiety, disgust, and anger. Uncomfortable feelings can rob us of our quality of life, steering us away from what God has in store for our lives. We've gotten used to feeling down, frustrated, and offended because we attribute them as natural reactions to life circumstances. Instead of ignoring our emotions, we should take them as warning signs. Letting these feelings fester will lead to more problems later on. Adjust Your Emotions Here are some tips on how to dispel negative emotions. The first is to challenge the validity of what you're feeling. Our present emotions do not always reflect the truth. Try to think of instances that challenge our current predicament. Next, own your emotions by taking responsibility for your thoughts. We have the choice to believe them or not. Third, adjust your focus. Ask yourself what your goals are and if your current state will be able to help you reach success. Negative thoughts and emotions can be habitual, but we have the power to shape them into something better. In today's episode 1 of season 2 of the Christian Coaching School Podcast, we talk about chaos and how we can regain control of our lives. I also reveal why I had to take some time off from recording the podcast and how a string of adverse events helped me better understand how and when to manage the chaos in life. [01:30] Relaunching the Podcast [02:15] How We All Go Through Trying Times [05:58] Nothing Can Come Between You and God's Plan [06:49] Pipe Burst and a String of Events [08:38] My Beloved Poodle [09:10] The Dramatic Event That Changed My Life Forever [12:15] Feelings of Loss [15:09] Anxiety and Consequences [16:30] Why I Created the Genesis of Christian Coaching 3.0 [17:32] Discovering the Code for Healthy, Permanent Weight Loss [19:40] Parting Thoughts Going Through and Overcoming Chaos We live in a world increasingly vulnerable to extremes. One day everything's fine, and the next, we're experiencing a global pandemic like nothing we've ever seen before. But that's just the way of life, and there's nothing we can do about it. If you've been following me for some time now, you'll have noticed that the podcast has gone silent these past few years. It's not that I ran out of content or gave up after the first season, but several unexpected events made it quite difficult to record new episodes. You'll be stunned as I recount the series of events that brought us here today. We all go through events in our lives that can be traumatic and emotionally exhausting. I know that sometimes it can be hard to keep your head up when everything seems to be on a downward spiral. But amid all the chaos, always remember that God is in control, and He promises to never leave or forsake us. Nothing Can Come Between You and God's Plan God has a plan and a purpose for you. However, this doesn't mean that you won't go through problems or trials in life. This simply means that God's plan for you is to prosper, grow, and overcome the battles in your current situation. For example, during all the chaos in my life, my business was doing exceptionally well. It's even more interesting when you learn that I hadn't promoted the academy at all for a couple years. The growth and prosperity all happened organically. When I witnessed this I realized that we all make plans in life regarding the future. But God's plans are sure and true. They might manifest a little later than we'd like, but God is faithful. Remember that we continue to exist not because we're smart or special but because God ordained it. How many times have you seen this happen? A new product or invention comes to market and someone says, "Hey, that was my idea!" "Great ideas are a dime a dozen but implementation is priceless." says Mary Kay Ash, the late founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Ideas are opportunities. And even when negative events happen, opportunities are created by them that otherwise might not exist. We just need to look for them. Just look at history. Most people remember the Great Depression in the United States as a miserable time for most folks. BUT, those who looked for the opportunity, got ideas and implemented them, made a fortune. In fact, that was a time more millionaires than ever before were created in the United States. I was blessed to be mentored by one of them, the late John Galbreath, who was a commercial real estate development mogul in Columbus, Ohio. You’ll hear me talk about him from time to time because he shared great wisdom with me that I live by to this day. He was in his late 80s when he mentored me and told of when he had been the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, had Derby winning horses and was a huge believer in mentoring young people. His passion for young people was evidenced by his philanthropy with the Ohio State University Development Fund. I met him when ... Today we are going to talk about a skill that is really more about what we don’t do, than what we do. In order to coach deeply, we need to hold the space for our client. When we coach in this way, it may appear to take longer to achieve results at times, but the results are far deeper and longer lasting because the client was deeply involved in achieving their outcome. Holding space in my view, is about doing less rather than more, in order to empower your client. And coming up, I will explain how to do this as well as what not to do. When my students first begin coach training, they are so excited that they will be able to guide people to success. They look forward to giving good, solid advice and help solve their client’s problems. At first glance, that sounds really good. The problem is that in order for your client to get the best results, they themselves need to arrive at the answers and we are not there to judge them, fix them or try to manipulate the outcome. Because we are Christian coaches, and our first and foremost obligation is to remain loyal to the Lord, this involves a delicate balance. What does it mean to ... Thank you for joining me for an extraordinary episode today. On occasion you will hear personal interviews with those I believe, can add great value to your life as well as your coaching, and in this case also, counseling practice. I recently had an opportunity to do an in-person interview with my guest, Karen Federighi, in Naples, Florida. Since we were not in a studio and were fortunate to find a somewhat quiet public room in a hotel there, you may still hear occasional local sounds. But thanks to expert audio editing by Evan and Simply Beautiful Media, those will be kept to a bare minimum. Karen has been featured in an NBC news report and when you hear dates, times and locations mentioned in this show, please know that this information has already been vetted and released in major network broadcasts. In addition, Karen will appear in an upcoming Hollywood-produced, full-length documentary because of her experiences, due out in July of this year. When I first saw Karen, she was having breakfast at the hotel with Diamond, her parrot. Being an animal lover, I was drawn to meet Karen and learn how Diamond became so tame and well behaved. The conversation later turned to her story and when I heard her testimony and we prayed together for her protection, I knew I had to bring her story to you. I want you to learn what very few coaching and counseling professionals know, as well as discover how to protect yourself also. Through it all, Karen has a strong faith, as you will hear when you meet her. Please help me welcome Karen Federighi … SHOW NOTES: Summer C-School (Advanced Christian Coaching Class) Details and Enrollment is at http://pccca.org/summer You can find show notes online at http://pccca.org/7 ========= The Christian Coaching School Podcast is your one-stop resource for continuing education, personal growth and becoming dually certified as a Certified Christian Life Coach and Certified Professional Life Coach. Welcome back. I hope the previous episode inspired you to do more public speaking. I think once you have a system down for how to prepare and present, your confidence will skyrocket. Today we will continue training on this topic. Today we are continuing with Part 2 on the topic of public speaker training, dealing with you as a presenter, your content and your audience. Last time we talked about the importance of preparation and how to prepare. As a review… we talked about our attitude, skills and preparation. We discussed the importance of opening impact and how to craft it. The content itself has 3 parts. The introduction, the body and the conclusion. With your INTRODUCTION your audience gets to know who you are, why you're qualified to speak to them, and that THEY are going to benefit you’re your presentation. Here you set the scene by telling your audience what you are going to tell them. Within the BODY, you will organize your core material into key points - remember, keep it to four or five main points. Keep each point short and focused. Provide enough supporting information to make the point clear. Each point should have a beginning, middle, and an end. Each point should be reinforced with a real-life example, an anecdote, some statistics, and maybe some humor from time to time if you feel it’s suitable. Emphasize the benefits or importance of each point. Then , in your CONCLUSION - Make it clear that you have arrived at the conclusion of your presentation. Summarize the key points, but don't introduce new items. If you're going to have a question-and-answer period, have it now. Finish in an upbeat manner, make a final impact statement, and give a call to action to the audience members. The better you know what you're going to say, the more comfortable you will feel, so practice makes perfect. Now we need to discuss the two other components of the presentation; you as the presenter and audience interaction ... ============= You can find show notes online at http://pccca.org/5 The Christian Coaching School Podcast is your one-stop resource for continuing education, personal growth and becoming dually certified as a Certified Christian Life Coach and Certified Professional Life Coach. Today we are talking about how to get prepared for public speaking. This is a really important topic for us as Christian life coaches because we want to make the most of our speaking opportunities. And, there are coaches, whose primary method of delivering coaching, is to do so before an audience. I am one of those rare people who actually enjoy public speaking. It wasn’t always that way, but now I look forward to sharing my message with lots of people. I don’t think I am a great speaker but when I get in front of a group, my talk just flows out of me. Some people refer to this as anointing. But I definitely think it’s God because without a sense of purpose to my talk, it’s just so much noise… and even bores me. So that said, I think knowing your PURPOSE deeply is a key ingredient to being comfortable. Make sure that your PURPOSE compels you to share … knowing that some part of God’s plan may be left incomplete if you don’t get your message out. Whether you write or speak, God has given you a unique voice, meaning a special way of conveying your message that will resonate with certain people. It is your job to fine tune your presentation skills to engage powerfully with as many in your audience as possible. Preparation is everything and today we are going to talk about what you can do, to make sure each public speaking engagement is stellar. I want you to get invited to more and more venues to share your message and today I will tell you what needs to happen BEFORE you ever step on the stage, to make sure you are ready. I believe many life coaches would agree that the single most difficult task is getting your client motivated to act. This is no different for Christian life coaches. This could be seen as strange since a client hires a coach because they want change and coaches are change agents. There are many reasons clients don’t take the actions that lead to the results they want and it is important to explore those. In today’s episode we will review many of the reasons clients fail to take action and questions you can ask to help them move forward. You can find show notes online at http://pccca.org/3

Welcome to the Christian Coaching School Podcast. I have wanted to do this podcast for quite some time but it had to be the right time. If you are in my inner circle, you may be aware I have been busy writing the 2nd edition of my book, the Comprehensive Christian Coaching Handbook, Essential Guide to Spirit-Led Coaching and Business Success. whew … long name … The first edition was actually published back in 2009 and at that time it was a manifesto of sorts. Prior to my book, Christian coaching had been taught almost the same as secular coaching, but scripture was added for the Christian audience. And … you and I both know what happens when you add random scripture to validate your secular point. It becomes far LESS about what God wants and MORE about what a person wants. Because of this I had known for a very long time that I would eventually write a textbook as the foundation for an actual scripturally-based Christian Life Coach training program. The book we had used was no longer in print and the truth is, I could not begin then, to offer compromised training to our students. When I published the book and thereby pulled back the curtain on what had come before, there were a few unhappy coach trainers out there because the truth had been revealed. But I believe we have to do what we feel is right in this world and that takes courage a lot of the time because the enemy is never happy when God’s truth is revealed. So despite that, God prevailed and His word was laid as the true foundation. The Christian life coach training that we offer at the Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy aka PCCCA, at http://pccca.org is based on my book, so you can be sure that the content of the training is pure. As I say in my book, I wrote it because God inspired it, every step of the way. I am just telling you this because I think it’s important for you to know who you are listening to. And I promise to keep you updated when I get close to publishing the 2nd edition. So … what else can I tell you about me and what we do here … ? Since 2003 we have trained thousands and thousands of Christian life coaches worldwide at PCCCA and we have graduates on every continent. I have also trained many if not most, of the current Christian coach trainers. Most of them are even now on my email list. And if that’s you … I know you are out there LOL And hey, it’s all good. I hope what we create here continues to bless you and those you teach. We all serve the same Lord after all. Right? We also hosted the first annual Christian Coaching Week this year which was a great success with participants from all over the world. To join in the event next year, just visit the website at http://christiancoachingweek.com and ask us to send you updates for registration. I look forward to getting to know you during our time together on this podcast. There will be lots of opportunities for you to communicate back to me with your thoughts and what you would like to hear more about. Finally, I want to introduce you to some of the topics you can expect to learn more about on this podcast. Now these are in no particular order and the list is certainly not complete as I will add topics based on listener request as well. Ok … I will be talking about … The importance of the Lord building your coaching practice The top Coaching Questions to help you Get your Clients Unstuck How You Can position yourself for God to promote you How to Make Sure Your ideas Outlive you – creating a legacy I will also give previews into our current and new courses and how I think they will help you.
