Hello, dear ones. I'm coming to you with the first guest episode in a series all about grief and grief tending and what it can look and feel like when we apply a spiritual lens. This four-part series will explore grief tending through pleasure, astrology, plant magic, and working with crystals. This first episode with Kalah Hill is so, so rich. Kalah is a Freedom Doula and Pleasure activist. I connected with her and her work when I embarked on the Maiden to Mother Teacher Training hosted by Sarah Durham Wilson and many others over the last year. When I say this training rocked my world, it's truly an understatement. During this training, Kalah opened my eyes to the deep connections between grief and pleasure.  Read this episode on the blog: https://cassieuhl.com/sacred-links-between-grief-pleasure-with-kalah-hill/ LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Mature Feminine Rites of Passage Retreat: https://shop.cassieuhl.com/pages/mature-feminine-rites-of-passage-journey CONNECT WITH KALAH HILL Website: https://inpleasurewetrust.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kalah.hill/?hl=en Did you enjoy this podcast? This episode features my dear friend and returning guest, Bergen Hyde and her personal story of divesting from patriarchal religion. This is a topic I feel is very important because I believe many patriarchal religions are the underpinnings of the trance of unworthiness, keeping many women in positions of servitude and oppression through biblical misinterpretations, scripture and sanctioned abuse. Bergen generously and courageously shares what it's been like to untangle from her Mormon faith tradition including the heartache and courage as she unpacks years of repression, and even her own complicity in her own indoctrination. We explore various aspects of Mormonism and the practices that were most troubling for her including ideologies, rituals, gender roles, body shame, and the perpetuation of patriarchal norms. We also discuss the intersectionality of patriarchy with racism, fat phobia, homophobia, and transphobia, emphasizing the need to confront internalized oppression and dismantle oppressive systems. We also delve into topics such as feeling spiritually homeless and named the episode "Losing My Religion” after the song by REM, as Bergen reckons with the truth as she highlights the importance of changing transforming her personal narrative to one of empowerment and sovereignty after years of feeling angry and victimized. This is a longer episode than usual because it's such an important topic that requires more space for reflection- I hope you love it as much as I do. Here's more of what we cover: What it means to divest from patriarchy The Damsel in Distress and other patriarchal archetypes/ stereotypes of religious women including piety, goodness, and obedience. How we can develop self-trust, self-love, and how we can redesign a life on our own terms outside of patriarchal religions. The process of reclaiming our identity, and facing fears about hurting loved ones as we disengage. Having the courage to challenge harmful patriarchal systems in general. The crucial role of personal storytelling in our lives and reclaiming authorship of our lives. The power of sisterhood and the importance of witnessing each other. The tricky terrains of patriarchal structures and responsibility, The bitter truth about our complicity in patriarchal systems, and how to break the cycles of harm. Recognizing and taking accountability for our role is the first step towards effecting meaningful change. and so much more! Bergen Hyde lives in Provo, Utah with her partner and three children. Her favorite things are dancing, salty snacks, spending time in the mountains, and preferably in a body of water. She is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of WOMB, which she founded with her two sisters Jentri and Sarah. The three sisters hold women's circles, workshops, retreats, and one-on-one mentoring designed to support women in healing internalized patriarchy, integrating the sacred feminine, and reclaiming personal sovereignty. Bergen has been devoted to the sacred feminine and regularly co-partners with Sarah Durham Wilson to facilitate group mentorship through the Wounded Maiden to Mature Feminine Rites of Passage Program. Special Guest: Bergen Hyde.

Content Warning: Mentions suicide, substance use, bereavement, language.   Sarah Durham Wilson is the author of Maiden to Mother: Unlocking Our Archetypal Journey into the Mature Feminine.   Her own mother died when Sarah was just a teenager and life sort of spiralled from there for a while. She came to professional success through journalism and her stints writing for the likes of Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair and Spin Magazine. She also found her voice on social media a decade ago as Do It Girl, a popular blog-facebook presence for young women seeking a spiritual experience. But it was hitting rock bottom, struggling with substance use and just kind of chaotic dysfunction that Sarah came to understand the trauma of being an Unmothered Woman.   She has since deepened her studies, diving into the works of Marion Woodman and apprenticing to the myths of Inanna and Ereshkigal, devoting herself to the work of elevating the Mature Feminine as well as her activism work, intersectional feminism, decolonization, divesting from whiteness, and eradication of the patriarchy.   Check out Sarah's website, themotherspirit.com Plus her Instagram and her book. As we have been witnessing the protests raging across Iran after the brutal death of Mahsa Amini, we are also hearing of intensified violence against the women there. In order to more deeply understand the current climate, I reached out to my Iranian friend and sister Priya Assal and invited her to join me for an interview. If you want to hear why what is happening in Iran should matter to us here in America and all over the world, then I urge you to listen to Priya's revelations and her personal story of love and longing, and her passion for women's rights in Iran and beyond. Priya Assal is an Educator, Writer, Artist and Women's Community Organizer. She is the founder of Inner Journey Practices, an educational non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of Farsi-speaking women worldwide. Priya holds a BFA from the California College of Arts and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is also a certified Holistic Health teacher, a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor and a certified Women's Rite of Passage Facilitator in the lineage of Sarah Durham Wilson. In her Medium article she writes: "Today's Iranian “Women, Life, Freedom” slogan is 1969's American “My body my choice”, and is exposing yet again the shadow of the old beast at play: Patriarchal Tyranny. Patriarchal Tyranny is a global curse inflicting violence upon most of the world's population, including the citizens of seemingly free countries. The fact of the matter is that nearly everyone is oppressed by the corrupt systems born of this beast; systems that define the norms and shape the worldview of human beings. In countries like Iran, Patriarchal tyranny is in your face. It's undeniable and felt at every corner and in every room. However, in countries like the United States or in Europe, it's cleverly disguised under pretend freedom and comforts, and therefore harder to recognize and defeat.” Priya is an artist, activist, writer, educator and a Mature Feminine Rites of Passage Practitioner. She is passionate, determined and committed to using her gifts and voice in service to the liberation of Iranian women, and all women. As the founder of Art of the Inner Journey Education her work serves to provide free education, transformation and Inner liberation to Iranian women so that they may experience reclamation and healing from patriarchal and terrorist rule. Please support Priya's work to assist Iranian women by donating here (https://www.innerjourneypractices.com/donation) Priya shares some of the history on the Hijab and how it has changed over the last 43 years. How Mahsa Amini has become the most used hashtag and really what it means to be a Key code How Iran was considered the Paris of the middle wast in the 60's and what happened after that We discuss how oppression exists all around the world and some is very hidden and some is in plain sight How consumerism and capitalism affects us at a very deep level - increasing the poverty aspect We speak of the loneliness that exists in particular in the United States versus in Iran and how we need to find our joy and comfort in community Iranian women are putting everything at risk because they have nothing left to lose; when everything has been taken away from you life isn't worth living anymore How curiosity and education about Iran or other cultures helps to expand the ability to identify with other women For transformation there are three key aspects: Absolute honesty with yourself Courage Humility We need to prevent a repeat of history. This past year I completed my 8-month rites of passage teacher training with Sarah Durham Wilson. It's by far one of the most provocative and potent trainings I've ever done. It helped me truly understand the core wounds of women conditioned by patriarchy and how to assist women in healing those wounds. In this episode, I have the honor of introducing you to my teacher and her work and celebrating with her the publication of her first book with Sounds True: Maiden To Mother, Unlocking our Archetypical Journey into The Mature Feminine. When the goddess culture was stolen and buried, so were women's rites of passage into our wild, intuitive femininity and maturity. With Maiden to Mother, Sarah Durham Wilson excavates these ancient rites, guiding us through a sacred and crucial initiation from the immature Maiden into the archetypal Mother. This powerful, safe, compassionate, full-bloom feminine life force exists within all of us. Becoming the Mother is every woman's birthright—regardless of whether or not she raises children. The Mother is who we needed as children, who we were meant to be in this life, and who the world needs us to be now. Sarah teaches that while pre-patriarchal cultures honored women's natural cycles, today's society infantilizes women, idolizing youthful traits such as “pretty, pleasing, and polite” to keep us distracted and dependent. While a healthy version of the Maiden will always remain part of us, there comes a time when we must no longer let her wounds and immaturity guide our lives. We must step into our mature, feminine fullness. Through personal stories, rituals, teachings, and practices, Sarah helps women heal the Mother Wound and dismantle our internalized patriarchy with its false, constricting standards for the feminine so that we may live with authenticity and feast on the richness of life. “Midlife is not, as our culture proposes, where a woman's power ends,” writes Wilson, “but where it really begins.” In this episode, Sarah and I talk about: Sarah's diagnosis and her more recent understanding of how being undiagnosed has impacted her in her work. Sarah losing her Mother to Cancer when she was still a teen and how her Mother's life and death shaped her work and healing. Activism as a potent medicine for what the world needs now, how she's helping to dismantle racism through her work, and being a faithful ally to black, brown, and indigenous women, and the connection to the colonization and capitalistic trance of patriarchy. White feminism and white fragility and how they are related to “The Wounded Maiden” archetype. Why Climate Justice and Racial Justice are Married. Inner misogyny, its impact, and how it becomes internalized in both men and women. Making the rites of passage journey to the mature and why this is the work for all of us at this time.

Hello, this is Eric LeMay, a host on the New Books Network. Today I interview Sarah Durham Wilson, whose new book Maiden to Mother: Unlocking Our Archetypal Journey into the Mature Feminine (Sounds True, 2022) is a reclamation and celebration of women, women's power, and the possibilities for women's lives outside of limitations imposed by our patriarchal culture. Wilson seeks to unearth a sacred, ancient, and empowering connection to the divine feminine, reviving the stories of such figures as the legendary Sumerian goddess Innana and showing what wisdom these stories hold for women who find themselves under threat by the misogynistic politics and policies currently proliferating around us. And Durham is a live wire, a generous and profound spirit who seeks to connect women with one another and with their birthright—the chance to become whole and radiant selves who can lead the world through this wounded present to a future in which each us and our planet can flourish. How do you relate to being a maiden? A mother? The Mother archetype has nothing to do with bearing children. Instead, it's a reflection of your hard-earned maturity and a deep connection with your most feminine self. In today's episode, I'm chatting with author and teacher Sarah Durham Wilson about the maiden to mother journey. In her work, Sarah guides women through the stages of life–the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone–as they unlock new truths about themselves and connect more deeply with their femininity.  In a world full of Maidens, Sarah is shedding light on the power of Mothers. And in doing so, she's helping us all unlearn the damage of our patriarchal society. Join me in today's episode as I chat with Sarah about her journey to uncovering her Mother archetype.. We're sharing the struggles that come with unlearning our societal conditioning and why it's okay to feel fed up sometimes. Plus, we're breaking down the performative and partriarchally-driven activism we see online and explaining the damage it can cause. In episode 381 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss: [3:15] Sarah's relationship with The Mother and how she chooses to commune with the divine [4:19] Connecting with nature as a way of connecting to The Mother [9:46] Coming home to where you're meant to be and recognizing when a place is calling you [11:05] Finding joy and levity in life and recognizing it for the power that it is [17:32] Why it's okay to feel fed up with the world and how to embrace your “grumpiness” [22:39] Taking a break from dating as a way of healing yourself and unlearning the culture [29:23] Social media activism and why to “do the work in the dark” [34:35] Humility vs. hubris and embracing the Mother instead of the Maiden [39:35] The Maiden and The Mother archetypes and how to use them to understand the people in your life [45:54] Why being a “Mother” isn't about having children but instead about the mature feminine [49:57] Building your community of mature women and Mothers [53:54] The problem with men preaching “goodness” and why it's not enough [01:02:46] The danger of patriarchalised women and how to break the cycle [01:06:09] How to be more mindful of men who try to teach women how to be feminine through submissiveness [01:09:04] Sarah's upcoming book launching June 7, 2022, Maiden to Mother   For full show notes and resources, head to https://untameyourself.com/podcasts/381 About the EMBODIED Podcast with Elizabeth DiAlto  Since 2013 I've been developing a body of work that helps women embody self love, healing and wholeness. We do this by focusing on the four levels of consciousness - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. In practical terms this looks like exploring tools and practices to help you  tune into the deep wisdom of the body and the knowing of the heart, which I believe are gateways to our souls. Then we cultivate a new relationship with our minds that allows the mind to serve this wisdom and knowing and soul connection, rather than override it, which is what many of us were taught. If you've been doing self help or spiritual development work for a while, these are the types of foundational things that often people overlook in pursuit of fancier concepts that often aren't practical or sustainable. Here, we will focus on building these strong foundations so you can honestly and thoroughly embody self love. If you're feeling it, subscribe to the show, and leave us a review wherever you listen from. You can also keep up with show updates and community discussion on Instagram here.

Welcome to season two of Multifaceted. I wanted to begin with a conversation with a friend, colleague and student of mine, Bergen Hyde. Inspired by her own journey through the sacred mystery of personal transformation, Bergen has spent the last four years devoting her energy to creating spaces and resources for women to find their way through their own "dark nights of the soul." As a Dark Night Doula, Bergen has personally guided hundreds of women through reintegrating the sacred feminine, deconstructing internalized patriarchy, and reclaiming personal sovereignty. She is training under her teacher, Sarah Durham Wilson, as a Wounded Maiden to Mature Feminine Facilitator and offers one-on-one coaching, courses, and workshops for women seeking to heal and come home to themselves. She lives in Provo, Utah with her partner and three children. Our hour long conversation was filled with a passionate and heartfelt conversation about the mature feminine, the way we meet and navigate the patriarchal culture, the integration we do through this work we do individually as women. We spoke to the way we bring this to the men in our lives as it pertains the new world we are creating through healing the feminine wound. We also touched on the initiation that is known as the dark night of the soul, and Bergen's personal story and how she now supports women as they too navigate this chapter of their lives. We hope that you enjoy this conversation. You can connect with Bergen on IG @womb_circle Details for Bergen's new group offering beginning March 2nd 2022 are below. Amy: Welcome to Breaking Down Patriarchy! I'm Amy McPhie Allebest. A couple of months ago I did an Instagram Live with Bergen Hyde of Womb Circle, and Bergen mentioned that in deconstructing our internal patriarchy there was some work that was done with the head - rational, intellectual work, which I envisioned being out in the sunlight… and some work that was done with the heart and the gut - emotional, soul work, which I envisioned being done deep underground, in a cave or the bowels of the earth. I realized that most of the work I've done over the past year has been “head” work - defining terms, tracing historical patterns, analyzing books, speeches, and laws. I've felt a lot along the way too - listeners know I don't shy away from a laugh or a cry - but as I had told Bergen at lunch before our Live, I have not really wanted to go into the belly of the earth and have my personal reckoning. To give myself credit, I've felt personally called to do an intellectual, academic project, and it's been a critically important part of my personal life and also something I felt that I wanted to offer to the world. But there's a part of me that knows I need to do a journey down and in - what the Greeks called a katabasis -  the trip into the Underworld or a cave… but I'm scared of what I might find on that journey. I don't know if I'm up for the anger and the grief that I might feel if I did that “soul work.”  But.... within a day of each other Bergen and a very dear long-term friend happened to bring up Women Who Run with the Wolves, by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, which is a book about this very soul work, so I took it as a sign. And Bergen said she would do the episode with me… so down into the cave we go! Bergen is here today and I want to welcome you, Bergen, and thank you so much, for being here as my guide and our listeners' guide on this journey! Bergen: Thank you so much for having me Amy. I'm thrilled to be with you! Amy: Also, this is a really really special episode because it's the very last book of Season 1. It's chronologically out of order, but as I said, I added it because you and my friend Annie both said it was a must-read, and it turns out that it's a perfect bookend for the series because we started with ancient, gynocentric cultures in The Chalice and the Blade, and so it's fitting that we end with gynocentric stories at the end. But before we talk about the book, could you introduce yourself? Bergen: Sure! My name is Bergen. I have lived in Provo, Utah for the past 13 years with my Husband and our three kids. My favorite things are dancing, salty snacks, spending time in the mountains, preferably in a body of water. I am the oldest of 4 and grew up in Wisconsin.  I am the Co-Founder and Creative Director of WOMB, which I founded with my two sisters Jentri and Sarah. We hold women's circles, workshops and retreats and one on one mentoring designed to support women in healing internalized patriarchy, integrating the sacred feminine, and reclaiming personal sovereignty.  I have been devoted to the sacred feminine for the last 4 years and am currently training under Sarah Durham Wilson as a Wounded Maiden to Mature Feminine practitioner.  Amy: Thoughts on Breaking Down Patriarchy? Bergen: Thoughts Amy: Intro the author: Clarissa Pinkola Estés was born in January, 1945. She is of Native American and Mexican heritage, and grew up in a rural village, population 600, near the Great Lakes. She was raised in the now vanished oral tradition of her war-torn immigrant, refugee families who could not read nor write, or did so haltingly, and for whom English was their third language overlying their ancient natal languages. As an older child she was adopted into an immigrant and refugee family of majority Magyar and minority Danube Swabian (Hungary and Germany) tribal people. They were wise in the ways of nature, planting, animals, and making everything from scratch,

What are the Traits of Mother? What is The Triple Mother Wound, and how can we reveal it and heal it? What is the Death Mother? How can the dark feminine energies hurt or help us? Why does the Patriarchy want to keep women pretty, pleasing, and polite? What is the archetypal underworld, and why must we go there to discover who we are? How can women awaken from the trance of patriarchal religion to discover the sacred feminine's nourishment? How did Bergan begin to conceive of her work with WOMB? Why it's so important for women to become embodied and know their own inner wild? How can women return to flow and keep the flow? How can women connect more deeply with Mother Earth? What does it mean to be with the “pain of transformation?” Bergen Hyde has lived in Provo, Utah for the past 13 years with her husband and three kids. When I experienced my first dark night of the soul in 2008, it would have been so helpful to know that what I was experiencing was a rite of passage and a descent that would assist me in my ascent into greater awareness and consciousness. What I was experiencing was a transition that had me face and heal my inner wounded maiden so that I could cross over into the mother archetype and change my life for the better. When I stumbled upon Sarah's work, I felt so deeply seen and nourished. In addition to the fact that she helped me understand my journey at a deeper level, she is also a wealth of information, teachings, and stories about the goddess, the divine feminine, the heroine's journey. She also mentors women on their own paths. What I love the most about Sarah is her potent story-telling and her raw authenticity. I hope you love listening as much as I loved interviewing her. In 2010, she launched the website DOITGIRL, which inspired women called to the work of the witch and priestess. She lives on Martha's Vineyard with her daughter Avalon and her black cat, Odin. Listen in as we explore: * Heartbreak as a rite of passage. * Why do women keep choosing the same type of men again and again - especially abusive or narcissistic men? * If we were raised in a patriarchal house, did we ever truly experience what love is? * Why does it feel like a death when you are rejected or left behind? * What is “the wounded maiden,” and why is she so thirsty for love and validation from the outside world? * What does it mean for us that we live in a matricidal and misogynistic culture? * Why is nature so essential to the unbecoming process and untangling from the clutches of patriarchal conditioning? * Why learning to love and accept ourselves in our full self-expression and for our whole selves is the deepest and most authentic love we will ever know.

Today on the Everything Belongs Podcast, Madison is in conversation with Sarah Durham Wilson. Sarah is the mother of the archetypal "Maiden to Mother" movement. She midwives women from the wounded, patriarchalized feminine across the bridge to the archetypal Mother, or Mature Feminine. Before her service to the Goddess, she was a rock journalist in New York City, beginning with an internship at Rolling Stone and culminating as an editor at Interview Magazine. Her soul work began with a witch awakening in 2011, which evolved into priestess work in 2015 and then into building the bridge from immature to mature feminine, which involves exorcising poisonous patriarchal patterning and resurrecting the ancient healing ways of the feminine wisdom. She's a Avalonian wisdom keeper, solo mother to a little girl and currently is working on a Maiden-to-Mother book for Sounds True. In this episode, Madison and Sarah discuss the remothering of the maiden within us and how our culture is infantilizing what the true maiden is. Sarah discusses what remothering in our time looks and feels like, and why this archetypal work is so important on our healing journeys. We live in a world that chiefly values women remaining in the maiden phase of their life. Messages surround us everywhere that we should be young, spritely, fresh and even virginal, despite the fact that this young stage of life often means we are still maturing and therefore understandably immature, are caught up in our own drama and needs, and crave attention. It can be hard to leave behind our maiden self in such a way that we cross into the more mature mother stage of our life feeling ready for all that entails. My guest on The Priestess Podcast today, Sarah Durham Wilson, is wholly devoted as a priestess to supporting women bridge the life gap from maidenhood to motherhood - and no - that does not mean as a birth mother. What does it actually mean? Tune in to this wise and womanly episode of the podcast today to find out!

In this episode of Belonging, Sarah Durham Wilson (aka The Mother Spirit) joins me to talk about moving for the archetype of Maiden to Mother. We get stuck in idealizing the Maiden as a result of many things—including the Patriarchy and beauty industrial complex—and many of us struggle to rise into the wisdom of the Mother archetype (which doesn't necessarily mean literally having children). Sarah's work is to heal the Maiden wound so that womxn can rise into a healthy Mother archetype. Together we talk about that Maiden to Mother journey, the unhealthy traits of each archetype, what it means to be "unmothered," healing the unworthiness wound, and dancing with the fear of dying. Welcome to our third week and this one is a special one.  Tonight is a full moon and lunar eclipse, and whether you're able to see them or not, I'd wager that you've been feeling the effects of these energies in one shape or form :-)   It's also a special week because I got to take a trip down memory lane in preparing this week's episode.   This week's episode is a reframe of a beautiful conversation I had several years ago with the wise and generous women's writer and leader, Sarah Durham Wilson.   In this week's episode we unpack the feminine and her wild heart.   With everything going on in our patriarchal-shaped world today, from the current political climate, to #metoo, to the wars waged against each other, and seemingly, on our beautiful planet, it might seem like an impractical time to embrace the characteristics of unconditional compassion, gentleness, and love.   But that's where many of us are actually missing the boat.   These traits are in fact some of the characteristics of the empowered feminine, and they are exactly what's needed to counterbalance the weight of the world right now and co-create a planetary space that is a balanced mix of healthy masculine and feminine energies for all to thrive.   These are the same qualities that so many of us *innately* possess, and get to cultivate, to balance out and "save," if you will, our planet:    "The world will be saved by the western woman."  ~ the Dalai Lama   I tend to agree with him, in that it is those healthy feminine qualities that exist in all of us, that are going to help us heal and move toward a brighter future.   #nodamselsindistresshere #feminineleadership   In this episode, we discuss the following themes and topics:       ~ Masculine and feminine energies     ~ Ego vs. soul relationships     ~ Balance and healthy energy exchanges     ~ Drama vs. soul purpose     ~ What jealousy *actually* means for you when you experience it (hint: it's probably better than you think!)     ~ The power of pleasure     ~ Mother nature     ~ The domain of the feminine     ~ We also enjoy some story-telling and exchange some ideas on lifestyle and love   I really cherish this interview, and I hope you do, too.  It's one of those ones, like a good book...  You can listen many times and learn something new each visit.  There's something special in the energy there, as it keeps showing us what we need to see.   My favorite takeaway from this interview, and one that I hope you'll hold near and dear as you go about your week, is this:   "The most powerful woman in the room is the one with the biggest heart." ~ Sarah Durham Wilson   The heart may not literally be the loudest physical expression in the room but it is definitely *felt* that way in the soul and in the exchange of energy.  Indiscernable to the eye and to logic, but *definitely* discernable to the soul.   #thefeminineascendancecircle #powerfullyfeminine   Learn more about Sarah and her programs here:  https://www.sarahdurhamwilson.com/   Have a beautiful week and I look forward to connecting with you again soon.   With love and gratitude, Katie

Sarah Durham Wilson is back on the podcast today and we dove into the journey from Maiden to Mother. It's an archetypal journey - so no matter your age or whether or not you've birthed a human, a lot of what we cover may be relevant for you.   We talked about the "initiations of strength" along the way, how in Maiden we take unhealthy risks in creativity and vulnerability, and by Mother we are moving from external validation to internal.   Which led us to a beautiful conversation about boundaries and aging, postpartum depression, fear of betraying our own mothers, embodying our souls, becoming more present and finding the gold in seemingly "bad" things.   Enjoy, share and let us know what lands for you!   xo, E For more information and for full show notes, head to http://untameyourself.com/309   Truth Telling with Elizabeth DiAlto aims to cut through the noise and ignorance of our current culture by exploring the truths of a diverse range of incredible voices. Sarah Durham Wilson is a writer and teacher who alchemizes her stories of becoming whole and real into lessons for her community. She spent her twenties as a hard living music journalist in New York City and at 31 had an awakening to the Goddess. She’s walked thousands of womxn through witch awakening and onto the priestess path, but has spent the last four years repairing the Ancient Path of the Maiden to Mother, a feminine initiation path from girlhood to womxnhood.   Capri has been following along Sarahs richly insightful and artfully presented life lessons for the greater part of the last decade. Her work first appeared to her in the form of Do It Girl, an online persona that showcased much of her writing - which had a tendency to go viral especially amongst young maiden womxn, like herself.   In more recent years, Capri’s awareness of her work was reactivated and on deeper level. Sarah was (the only person, that she could see) teaching about something so near and dear to her current evolution point, basically- the process of healthfully growing out of the more insecure, defensive, outward seeking maiden and into the self assured, inner-sourced “mother”. On a biological level Capri was going through a great transition of becoming an actual mother. But, the importance of Sarah’s work is understanding that this rite of passage (maiden to mother) is not limited to nor automatically activated through the biological change of becoming a mother. It’s the healing work of accepting our aging selves in new (and empowering) ways.   It was an honor for Capri that she felt such an immediate “Yes” to want to be on Inner Source Alchemy podcast, and with excitement she share with you these important personal development themes (that can be applied at any age- never too early or too late) and possibly introduces you to some of Sarah Durham Wilson’s work, for the first time.    Topic Highlights: Re-mothering Ourselves Initiation Through Obstacles The Heroines Journey Hearing the call to bring this unique work to the surface Archetypes: How can they help us? - Attempting to define the undefinable Reframing what it means for a woman to age/dismantling from the sick society we are in Fear of scaring others when we are in our power Esoteric and Exoteric How this all relates with living more fully in the Now The expectations placed on womxn to show up filtered (in all ways) www.SarahDurhamWilson.com Instagram: @themotherspirit Facebook: Do It Girl  ~ Please support this podcasts wellbeing by:   1. Sarah Durham Wilson has had her fair share of moments on the bathroom floor, including one years ago that initiated a full kundalini awakening and her spiritual path into Do it girl. At the time of this interview, Sarah was there again, in the dark. Darkness initiated, amongst other things, by the loss of her beloved fur baby and navigating motherhood alone. Sarah doubted whether she could be on a show called Unbreakable whilst feeling so broken, but this is precisely what I love about this episode. She is in it, feeling it all, stripped back to nothing and opening up to us about the experience - the pain, the teachings and the richness. And even there, deep in it, she is able to trust her own unbreakable spirit. As is always the case in any conversation with Sarah, this interview is laced with mythology, mysticism and imagery that brings her words to life and transports us to worlds and possibilities beyond our own. Sarah also shares with us: + How being in the dark does not mean being in agony + The journey of Innana and why stripping back to nothing can be so full of richness + The hard learned lesson that nobody is coming to save us - we have to save ourselves + The epic journey from maiden to mother to crone and where she is at right now + Where she goes to get her guidance in moments of fear - think mystical and magical! + Why she is ready for battle and suited up & how activism is no longer a choice
