Join Dave and Wayne for genre television show news, a glimpse into what the hosts are watching, listener feedback, and analysis of the Apple TV+ series Silo. This week on the SciFi TV Rewatch podcast we discuss who really wields the power in the silo: Judicial, Mechanical, or IT, and whether Sims or Bernard hope to take control. The cliffhanger ending leaves little doubt that Juliette is in trouble and may not be able to talk her way out of this one. In our What We're Watching segment, Dave continues watching the French crime drama Cherif, and Wayne voices disappointment with the Max sports docudrama Hard Knocks. In Listener Feedback, Fred from the Netherlands points out the actress playing Judge Meadows also stars in The Rings of Power. Alan in England wonders who actually wields the most power in the silo, and Alan in Missouri notices the lack of ocean movement in Gloria's hallucination. “Cabu, Elsa Cayat, Charb, Honoré, Bernard Maris, Mustapha Ourrad, Tignous, Wolanski ci mancate”.

Cherif explains the process of setting up a real estate fund, including the five P's: people, projects, positioning, performance, and profit. Sound Bites • I believe unless you have productive assets, meaning assets that produce income, you really will not be able to retire. • With real estate, you can have the leverage with the banks. You can have an asset that over time will beat inflation and then keep bringing you income. • I try to give people what I hoped and was wishing somebody would give me when I was starting. So I structured when I started making a lot of money in real estate, I realized I should help others. I should teach. That's the way to give back. • You cannot make it so enticing and over promise and then under deliver because the investors are going to be very upset. • They get the cash flow, they get the upside. • You just went into a property that was vacant. Put the national tenant, it jumped in value. Abstract: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has been associated mainly with a range of neurological symptoms, including brain fog and brain tissue loss, raising concerns about the virus's acute and potential chronic impact on the central nervous system. In this study, we utilized mouse models and human post-mortem tissues to investigate the presence and distribution of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in the skull-meninges-brain axis. Our results revealed the accumulation of the spike protein in the skull marrow, brain meninges, and brain parenchyma. The injection of the spike protein alone caused cell death in the brain, highlighting a direct effect on brain tissue. Furthermore, we observed the presence of spike protein in the skull of deceased long after their COVID-19 infection, suggesting that the spike's persistence may contribute to long-term neurological symptoms. The spike protein was associated with neutrophil-related pathways and dysregulation of the proteins involved in the PI3K-AKT as well as complement and coagulation pathway. Overall, our findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein trafficking from CNS borders into the brain parenchyma and identified differentially regulated pathways may present insights into mechanisms underlying immediate and long-term consequences of SARS-CoV-2 and present diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities. There are two types of startups: those that sell into existing markets and those that create new markets. There are ups and downs to both. Selling into an existing market means you have a clear idea of customer needs and market size. It also means you have lots of competition. Creating a new market tends to cost a lot of money and the upside is uncertain. But you get to define the market and potentially capture a strong position in your customer's minds, like Uber or Airbnb. When Dialogue started, telemedicine wasn't really a thing. At least, it wasn't a thing companies paid for in Canada. Cherif built Dialogue into a public company in just a few years by creating a new market. In this episode, he shares details of how we crafted the story and sold the product to his first few customers. If you want to learn how to create a new market, check this episode out.
