Within a two month period, Sarah went from being a young woman who created a promising future for herself to housing three unemployed criminals. Her new boyfriend, Richard Hull, had vouched for his friend, Andrew Cataldi and Andrew's girlfriend, Tricia Nordman. Then Sarah met the couple and she thought they were great! Unfortunately, Sarah quickly learned why some people do judge a book by it's cover. Within another two months of living together, life as she knew it was gone and all that was left was a defunct drug business and two bodies. Tune in as Elysia shares the many cringe worthy decisions Sarah made along the way and why a growing number of people (including the man who prosecuted her) believe she is innocent. They just as quickly identified their killers as Richard Hull and Sarah Pender. Richard and Sarah were both sentenced to multiple decades in prison. Justice was served. However, as the years went on, new evidence revealed that Sarah was likely railroaded and multiple pieces of evidence from her trial were fabricated. Would her legal team be able to overturn her 110-year sentence? Welcome to episode 15 of the Lyon’s Gate HOA Podcast. Lyon’s Gate resident Sarah Jo Frasier is running for the open seat on the HOA Board of Directors. Each candidate has the option of being interviewed on this podcast as part of the process and Sarah Jo opted to take advantage of that option. Sarah Jo joined me via Zoom to observe social distancing. The HOA Board of Directors approved 5 questions to be asked of every candidate wishing to be interviewed. These are the questions I asked Sarah Jo: How long have you lived in Lyon’s Gate? Why are you running for the Lyon’s Gate Board of Directors? What strengths do you possess that would contribute to the success of the Lyon’s Gate community? Do you currently volunteer in the community and if so, in what capacity? What’s important for others to know about you? Candidates are also asked to provide a short (200 words max) bio to be included on the ballot. Here’s Sarah Jo's 200 word bio: My name is Sarah Jo Frasier. I have lived in Lyon’s Gate with my dog Alex since December 2018. It is truly my home. As a homeowner, I take pride in what Lyon’s Gate represents. I love my morning runs in the community and seeing so many residents out and about. I would make an excellent member of the board. I will serve as a representative of families and answer to you first. Building a relationship with the people in Lyon’s Gate is an important part of being a board member. I promise to take my role seriously while upholding the values and needs of the people and the community. I will serve with the mindset of making smart long-term business decisions that ultimately increase property values and ensure that Lyon’s Gate stays a desirable neighborhood to move into and be a part of. As a government/economics teacher for 10 years, I held many leadership positions within my district. Civic service and fiscal responsibility were important topics I incorporated into every lesson. Being an HOA member is the perfect opportunity to serve and foster a positive connection with even more community members. After leaving teaching, I have found more time and a desire to serve. I work from home for a tech company. This allows more time I can dedicate to serving the residents. I would love the opportunity to serve you as a member of the Lyon’s Gate HOA board. ---- Push Play and listen in as Sarah Jo talks about her reasons for running for the Board and her qualifications. IMPORTANT: The annual meeting of the HOA is December 2nd and votes will be counted at that meeting. A quorum of 10% of the homeowners in Lyon’s Gate (194 homeowners) is required for the vote to be valid. Please vote! You should be receiving the ballot via email. Instructions are on the ballot.

Join me as I talk with Sarah Jo, owner and founder of The Coyote Cowgirl. “I grew up in a small town raising buffalo with my family. I was around the rodeo and ranching lifestyle, but the fashion is what caught my eye. I’m a lover of all things old school- especially western. My biggest dream was to become a fashion designer, but the one that emphasizes the old west in the designs. My general attire is square toe ostrich boots and a whole lot of turquoise. Simplicity is best in my fashion mind, except when turquoise is being worn. I love everything about the western world, and strive to keep its style alive. God is my number one man and my life goal to be the best light of Christ I can be. My business prays over decisions, works hard with proof from the callouses on my teams hands, and listens to 90’s country in the shop.” The Coyote Cowgirl clothing line is all about vintage western, a dash of punchy, plus some gypsy in the mix. We strive to keep our families old buffalo ranch tradition alive in the designs! TCC is based on Christian hearts, hard working hands, and a love for the old Wild West. We promise honest and true designs to remember the ole west, and to bring the light of Christianity to the world. In this 4th KEY5Podcast in the 3rd season, Sarah Jo Crawford and Robert Ferguson discuss: Will your presentation slides look good on the day you speak?  the best aspect ratio for the slides, fonts that will cause issues and why, animations - what not to use and why, video files - how to be sure you have the video in your slides, best practices for sound and speakers if you have video/audio. Other technology: live polling during the presentation (with suggestions), set up a single slide that will encourage connection via social media, scheduling auto tweets ahead of the presentation to show up to retweet, your "clicker" for slides - not all clickers are made equal, how to use your clicker to make your screen go light or dark, laser pointer or not? Are they outdated? microphones - what can go wrong - how to test and practice, recording your own audio for later use, and add in "redundancy" backups - what are they? At the end of all this discussion, Sarah Jo and Robert feel you need to be able to present without any technology... just in case! Evan Carroll shares his view on technology. Evan Carroll, Customer Experience Keynote Speaker and Author, shares his experiences and suggestions when dealing with technology and presentations. He gives tips on his favorite tech, including microphones and new technology that will capture your imagination. He shares his caveats and must-dos. Stories are something that we can so easily remember, whether it be our favourite film or book, but how often do we use them in our role. The most effective way for us to retain information is through stories and can be a influential way to engage with and sell to people. In this episode I'm joined by my guest Sarah Jo Crawford, professional speaker and founder of Sparkworth. We're taking you through the power of storytelling, giving you examples of how it's used well within sales, why it helps us sell and the pitfalls when it's not done in an effective manner. They'll also be suggestions and ways in which you can become better at utilising storytelling in your role. On the topic of stories, I'll be asking Sarah to share hers and also how she maintains an alignment in everything she does. So if you feel like you'd like to understand more about how to utilise stories to sell effectively or to ensure your audience retains your information, then tune in.
