In this talk, a business consultant shares practical advice for Nigerian entrepreneurs and anyone struggling with low income—like a widow living on 50,000 naira a month. His main point? Don't start a business if you have zero savings. Instead, he suggests a different roadmap:1. Stability First, Business LaterFocus on income: If you are "broke," focus on learning new skills, working extra hours, or asking your community for help to build a small safety net first.Know your risks: People with families to support can't afford to lose everything. However, students should take big risks now while they still have their parents' support.2. Use Technology to PivotIf you're ready to start something small, use AI tools like Google Gemini to brainstorm low-cost ideas.3. The Power of PeopleNetworking: Be aggressive about meeting people and "prospecting" for better jobs or referrals.Mentorship: Those who have already found success should reach back and mentor others. The goal is for everyone to rise together. The Bottom Line: Don't gamble with your survival. Secure your base, use AI for ideas, and lean on your network to grow.

The Parallel Reality Engineering Framework Shaun walks through the practical steps he uses when intentionally designing future outcomes. 1. Run the Simulation Imagine a future reality in detail: A new home A promotion A relocation A different financial lifestyle Go beyond the surface and imagine the full experience: Daily routines Responsibilities Trade-offs Emotional impact Ask yourself: Does this future actually light me up? 2. Write It Down Writing forces clarity. Turn imagination into strategy by identifying: What it looks like What it costs What it requires Who you must become This is where the metaphysical meets the physical. 3. Share the Vision When appropriate, bring others into the process. Whether it's a spouse, partner, or family member, shared futures accelerate progress because multiple people begin adapting to the same possibility. Ask yourself: Is this a shared future or just my ego future? 4. Build the Physical Plan Manifestation must eventually meet structure. Create a real-world framework: Budgets Time commitments Travel expectations Lifestyle adjustments When the logistics make sense, the vision becomes real. 5. Accept the Energy Cost Living in multiple potential futures can be exhausting. That's normal. You are expanding your nervous system and preparing for: New responsibilities New identity levels New financial realities Most people quit here because they want instant manifestation. 6. Use Technology as a Tool Modern tools like AI can assist with: Planning scenarios Budget simulations Career mapping Timeline possibilities But technology cannot replace the emotional signal that tells you whether a future truly aligns with you. 7. Release the Timeline The final step is critical. Feel it. Plan it. Align with it. Act toward it. Then detach from when it will happen. Ironically, when you stop forcing the timeline, progress often happens faster. The Warning: Passive Manifesting If you do not intentionally design your future, your subconscious will run the program for you. Often that means replaying: Old fears Scarcity thinking Past limitations People who consistently stack wins often do so because they have trained themselves to focus on possibility, growth, and positive expectation. Final Thought Manifesting should be fun. But it should also require effort. You are not wishing for the future. You are: rehearsing it aligning with it engineering it And when you consistently step into the emotional and physical reality of your next chapter, your future begins organizing itself around you. The holidays are often portrayed as joyful and picture-perfect… but for many people, this time of year can feel incredibly lonely. One of those symptoms is known as S.A.D. Seasonal Affective Disorder, which usually portrays feeling low, irritable, and usually caused by lack of sunlight amongst other things. And if that's you, I want you to hear this clearly:Your feelings are valid. You're not broken. You're not failing. You're human.Loneliness doesn't always mean being physically alone.Sometimes it's being surrounded by people and still feeling unseen.Sometimes it's missing someone who isn't here anymore.Sometimes it's wishing the holidays felt different than they do.But there are ways to soften that loneliness and reconnect — with others and with yourself.Tip 1: Reach Out Before You Need To A simple text, call, or message can open a door you didn't know was waiting for you. That is tough for me with what I do for a living, I'm supposed to HAVE the answers, what about you? Tip 2: Shift From Receiving to GivingActs of kindness — volunteering, donating, helping a neighbor — create connection and purpose. I LOVE "paying it forward" with coffee!! aka marinated bean water! what's yours? drop it in the comments!  Tip 3: Create Your Own TraditionsIf old traditions bring sadness, build new ones that reflect who you are today. I have one that I have tried to do Yearly with my nephews where we find a new comicbook store and explore that town for the dayTip 4: Use Technology as a BridgeVirtual dinners, group chats, or online communities can provide real emotional support.Tip 5: Acknowledge Your Feelings Without JudgmentLoneliness is not a flaw. It's a signal — a reminder that you deserve connection.I want YOU to know:“You're not alone in feeling alone. Many people are walking through the same quiet spaces.”SECTION 3: 5 More Healthy Holiday Tips reminders Tip 6: Use the “One Plate” Approach. Commit to one intentional plate instead of grazing all day.Tip 7: Bring a Dish You Feel Good About. Guarantee there's at least one balanced option you enjoy.Tip 8: Slow Down Your PacePut your fork down between bites. Let your body catch up with your brain.Tip 9: Alternate Alcohol With WaterKeeps you hydrated and helps you stay mindful.Tip 10: Protect Your SleepGood sleep reduces cravings and supports emotional and hormone balance. As we head into the holidays, remember this:Taking care of yourself is not selfish — it's essential.Whether that means making mindful choices at the dinner table or reaching out when you're feeling alone, you deserve to feel good in your body and supported in your spirit. The holidays can be complicated, but you're stronger, more resilient, and more worthy than you know. From all of us here at The Live to Progress Podcast, we're wishing you peace, connection, and moments of joy — big or small — wherever you find them. Stay kind to yourself. Stay connected. And I'll see you in the next episode! TEAM LTP:My IG: @livetoprogressVoice-over credits

Bechtolexamines China's critical role in sustaining North Korea's military-industrial complex, particularly since 2019 when international sanctions enforcement effectively ceased. China supplies dual-use technologies and component parts, frequently procured through illicit channels, directly to North Korea, thereby reinforcing the axis of revisionist states comprising Iran, North Korea, and Russia. Chinese companies involved in these transfers maintain direct linkages to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), operating as instruments of state policy. 1951

425 | Breaking Third Wall: How to Get Martial Arts Families Fully Committed Podcast Description In Episode 425 of School Owner Talk, Duane Brumitt and Allie Alberigo tackle one of the toughest challenges in the martial arts business: getting clients and families fully committed and dedicated to your program. They explore the concept of "breaking the third wall" - stepping beyond just teaching students to actively engaging parents and building a true martial arts community. From families who treat your school like a gym membership to parents who become spectators instead of participants, this episode reveals how to turn quick signups into lifelong raving fans. Learn why commitment has become rare in today's world and discover actionable strategies to build deeper connections that transform your martial arts school culture. Whether you're struggling with retention, dealing with uncommitted families, or looking to build a stronger community, this conversation provides real-world solutions for creating the kind of engagement that leads to long-term success. Key Takeaways Understanding the Third Wall Concept Breaking the Third Wall Definition: Just like Deadpool talking to the movie audience, breaking the third wall in martial arts means stepping beyond just teaching students to actively engaging parents and connecting lessons to real life. The Theater Analogy: Your martial arts students are the actors, you're orchestrating the performance, but parents are the paying audience who need to be entertained and engaged, not just watching from the sidelines. Beyond Technique Teaching: The difference between teaching a sidekick and teaching confidence is making the connection clear to parents so they understand it's not just physical technique. The Commitment Curve Challenge Modern Commitment Crisis: People will binge-watch eight seasons in a week but can't commit to showing up for a 45-minute class twice weekly. Commitment has become increasingly rare. The Honeymoon Phase Problem: Signing up is easy at the height of motivation, but getting past the quick honeymoon phase is where real work begins in building lasting commitment. Village Mentality: Success requires parents understanding they're part of the team and solution, not just paying the bill. If they want amazing results, they must put in effort too. Real-World Engagement Strategies Parent Code Implementation: Establish clear expectations through formal parent codes read at every belt ceremony, reinforcing that parents come alongside their children rather than just dropping them off. Periodic Check-ins: Schedule regular meetings (every 3-6 months) with students and parents to discuss progress, set goals, and maintain future-casting vision for continued growth. Video Communication: Replace traditional cards with personalized videos sent through text or email, creating deeper connections and showing parents specific moments of their child's progress. Action Steps for School Owners [H3] Start from Day One Trial Class Engagement: From the very first trial, communicate that success requires village mentality. Invite parents to be part of the solution, not just observers. Future Casting: Help parents see what their child can achieve in 6-12 months based on what they said they want. Make it tangible and visible, not philosophical. Build Systematic Engagement Create Parent Codes: Develop written expectations that parents commit to, emphasizing their role in their child's martial arts journey. Read these at every belt ceremony. Implement Check-in Systems: Schedule regular progress meetings (via Zoom or in-person) to discuss goals, celebrate achievements, and recommit to the next level. Use Technology for Connection Video Communication: Film 30-second personalized videos for new students, progress updates, or encouragement. While the average consumer might eagerly adopt new features and shortcuts at face value, techies tend to avoid gimmicks, question claims, and create their own workflows. In this episode of Web News, we explore how these different usage patterns affect app design, UX decisions, and the experiences we create as developers. With little to go on as far as eye witness testimony, it's going to come down to technology if the prosecution wants to secure a conviction. In this episode, we take a look at some of that technology and how it might be used to achieve the prosecutions desired results and what pitfalls might emerge along the way.(commercial at 7:36)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Technology Could Place Kohberger at Scene of Idaho Murders: Ex-FBI Agent (newsweek.com)

If you've been banging your head against the wall trying to get your team (or yourself!) to prospect consistently, these tips are for you. In this episode, I answer a question from Paul in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., who's building and leading a remote sales team in the logistics industry and needs to find a way to get his salespeople to prospect consistently . Then I tackle a follow-up question from a sales leader at one of our live events on how to keep his salespeople motivated to prospect every day. Paul's Challenge: Driving Consistent Prospecting Call Blocks Paul leads a medium-sized logistics company with reps spread out in California, Utah, and El Salvador. He's already done a great job by running a book club around my book, Fanatical Prospecting, but he needed practical tips for ensuring his team actually implements daily call blocks. Here's the advice I shared: Make Prospecting a Daily Conversation As a leader, you need to talk about prospecting every single day. Yes, you'll feel like a broken record, but that repetition is crucial for setting expectations. “Show Up” for the Call Blocks If your team was all in one building, you'd simply gather them on the sales floor and power through. Remotely, you can replicate this by scheduling a set time (e.g., 8:00 a.m. PT) and getting everyone on a video call. You can't stand next to them physically, but you can still see them, and they can see you. It's social pressure and moral support rolled into one. Run High-Intensity Sprints (HIPS) Instead of asking for hours of uninterrupted calling, break it into short bursts—10, 15, or 20-minute sprints. Let them pause to catch their breath, then go again. Keep a virtual whiteboard and track dials, contacts, and appointments in real time. Make it fun and competitive. Overcome the Complaints Reps might moan about being “micromanaged,” but if you keep it fun and energetic, they'll often appreciate the structure. Focus on results, not just the dials. Question: How Do I Motivate My Salespeople to Keep Prospecting? We also addressed a question from a leader who was attending one of our Sales Gravy Live events. Their team struggles to maintain high call numbers consistently. They might hit 100 dials a day for three days, then crash back down. The sales leader asked: “How do we keep our reps pumped for prospecting?” Here's the Reality Check Nobody Truly “Loves” Prospecting: Prospecting is hard, and most of us won't naturally get excited about it. But we do get excited about closing deals, landing appointments, and hitting our numbers. You Must Be a Teflon Sales Leader: Stay relentlessly focused on prospecting, day in and day out. The moment you relax your standards, the team will follow suit. If you don't treat prospecting as a top priority, neither will they. Be like teflon: no excuses stick. Lead by ExampleGet out on the “floor” (or on the Zoom call) and make calls with them. Don't hide in your office. When they see you doing the work, they'll know you mean business. Use the Power of HIPSThose high-intensity sprints work just as well here. Run “power hours” with quick breaks in between and track your team's progress publicly. Leading Prospecting Activity Is an Infinite Game Let's face it: prospecting is often the least-liked activity in sales. It's easy to push aside because it involves repeated rejection, logistical juggling, and tight discipline. Yet it's the lifeblood of any thriving pipeline—no prospecting, no leads, no deals, no revenue. And if you have a remote team, like Paul does, you're dealing with additional hurdles: time zones, limited supervision, and diminished peer pressure. It's all too easy for your reps to skip their “call block” if you're not right there to keep them accountable. As a sales leader, you can't just “fix” prospecting once and forget about it. The moment you move on, your team will start slacking. You have to show up, be present, keep the energy up, and run those call blocks every day. There's no shortcut, but with the right structure, accountability, and mindset, you'll maintain a full pipeline and keep hitting those targets—even if your team is spread across the globe. Key Takeaways Make Prospecting Non-Negotiable: If it's not a core daily priority for you, it won't be for your team. Use Technology to Close the Remote Gap: Schedule video call blocks, share screens, or split into breakout rooms. Presence leads to productivity. Short, Intense Bursts Outperform Marathon Sessions: Quick sprints keep energy high and reduce mental fatigue. Accept That Prospecting “Isn't Fun”—But Necessary: Stop waiting for everyone to be “excited.” Focus on discipline and wins will follow. Lead From the Front: Consistency in your message and your personal involvement is everything. Want to Be on the Show? In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton dive into the unique challenges of parenting as a first responder. Balancing the demands of a high-stress job with the responsibilities of family life can be overwhelming, especially when irregular schedules and emotional exhaustion come into play. You'll learn how to build meaningful connections with your children (Amazon Affiliate), even when time and energy are limited. We'll discuss five common challenges faced by first responder parents and share five actionable strategies to create a stronger bond with your kids while maintaining balance at home. The Unique Challenges of Parenting as a First Responder: Understand why the nature of first responder work can complicate parenting and how to address these obstacles proactively. Five Common Challenges First Responder Parents Face: 1. Irregular Schedules: Example: Missing school events, bedtime routines, or family dinners due to shift work. Impact: Creates feelings of guilt and disconnect between parents and children. 2. Emotional Exhaustion: Example: Coming home physically and mentally drained after a stressful shift. Impact: Makes it harder to be present and engaged with family. 3. Lack of Predictable Routines: Example: Inconsistent availability for activities like homework help or weekend outings. Impact: Leads to frustration for both parents and children. 4. Exposure to Job-Related Trauma: Example: Struggling to shield children from emotional stress while processing traumatic experiences. Impact: Can create tension or a sense of emotional distance in the household. 5. Limited Quality Time: Example: Spending more time at work than at home, leading to missed opportunities for connection. Impact: Causes kids to feel neglected or disconnected from their parent. Five Ways to Remedy These Challenges: 1. Prioritize One-on-One Time: Solution: Schedule dedicated time with each child, even if it's brief, like a weekly breakfast date or a bedtime chat. Why It's Beneficial: Makes your child feel valued and helps build stronger emotional connections. 2. Create Predictable Traditions: Solution: Establish small, consistent rituals, such as a family movie night or making pancakes on your day off. Why It's Beneficial: Provides stability and something for your kids to look forward to, even with a hectic schedule. 3. Communicate Openly About Your Job: Solution: Share age-appropriate insights about your work and why it's important, without overwhelming your kids. Why It's Beneficial: Helps them understand your absence and builds respect for what you do. 4. Involve Your Family in Stress Relief Activities: Solution: Engage in activities like family walks, board games, or cooking together to decompress and bond. Why It's Beneficial: Combines self-care with family time, strengthening relationships while reducing stress. 5. Use Technology to Stay Connected: Solution: Send quick text messages, share funny memes, or video chat during breaks to maintain contact when you're away. Why It's Beneficial: Keeps you involved in your kids' daily lives, even when you can't be physically present. The Importance of Maintaining Balance: Learn why finding harmony between duty and family life is essential for your well-being and your children's development. How to Build a Resilient Family Dynamic: Discover how open communication, consistency, and quality time can foster a supportive and loving household, even with the demands of a first responder career. Why This Matters: Parenting as a first responder comes with unique challenges, but with intentional effort, you can create meaningful relationships with your children and build a strong, connected family.
