“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” — Matthew 7:1. One of the most quoted — and misunderstood — verses in the Bible. But does this mean we should never make judgments about right and wrong? Is all judgment condemned, or is there a deeper meaning behind Jesus' words? In this video, we explore what the Bible really says about judging others. We'll look at the context of key passages, examine what Jesus and Paul taught, and discover the difference between righteous discernment and hypocritical condemnation.

We finish our Couples of the Bible study with Mary and Joseph. Why add this couple to the "undesirable couples" list? Though God saw them as highly favored, man misunderstood and deemed this couple undesirable. That did not matter to them! They knew they had received a command from God, and they were willing to fulfill it, no matter the cost. Simeon and I talk about what it means to be wholly given to the Lord as a couple, even if that means that others misunderstand your choices. I can't believe we made it to 33 Episodes! When I first started Let It B, I had no idea what taking a step out in faith would produce. In this episode, I talk about the gift of time and preparation season before we see the promises of God. I open up about the weight and the responsibility that comes with being a “minister of the Gospel”. I talk about how I overcome fears, doubt and insecurities of being a podcaster, fighting the urge to quit and how I embrace being set apart. I also talk about the dangers of influencers and how important it is for you to know the word for yourself. I pray that in the episode you not only feel encouraged to keep pushing forward, but that you also see that you are not alone in your struggles. Sometimes walking in faith will only make sense to you and God and that's okay. Don't be in a rush to get to the promise. SLOW DOWN and embrace every moment so that you don't miss what God is trying to show you in the process. Make sure you are subscribed to @BreFergie on YouTube so that you can watch this episode. In this episode of Truthspresso I chat about Jesus and socialism.A coworker a while ago made the claim to me that Jesus was a socialist. I have certainly heard this claim before, but I figured I would address it.In part 11 we look at three parables to see if they lean more socialist or free market capitalist:The hidden treasure in the fieldThe pearl of great priceThe vineyard tenantsBecause the parable of the vineyard tenants is Jesus' ultimate parable about the history of Israel, one would think the illustration would be important. The vineyard owner took risks, set up capital equipment, and established a business. The vineyard laborers seemed to prefer a violent revolution and to take over ownership of the vineyard. This very "capitalist" illustration seemed to indict the rebellious Israelites for crucifying Jesus in ways that resembled modern Marxist actions.Scriptures Referenced:Matthew 21:33-46*** Castle Rock Women's Health is a pro-life and pro-women health care ministry. When a distressed woman wrote to Scottish Pastor Alistair Begg about how to handle her son's "transgender wedding," he counseled her to attend it and bring a wedding gift--as long as her son knows that she doesn't affirm this unbiblical relationship. Over four months after Dr. Begg mentioned this in an interview the Christian sphere on the Internet exploded, calling him to repent. Begg doubled down that his advice was only specific to a difficult situation. The controversy has recently cost him radio networks and planned speaking engagements in conferences. While I strongly disagree with Begg's advice and pray that he will reconsider, I also advise fellow Christians not to resort to "cancel culture." As the Apostle Paul says, "Speak the truth in love." Pastor Dave continues his look at Jonah. Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 12:38-40; Jonah 4; Luke 4:17-28. See also Matthew 5:43-48.
My friend Steve Gretch returns to share about his own podcast, which he started following his first episode of Echo Zoe Radio in March, 2021. The show is called A Different Drummer, and focusses on the promises of God found throughout scripture. Outline of the Discussion Steve is a drummer, and named his show based on that and that we as believers march to the beat of a different drummer. It found inspiration in our church pastors telling people to believe the promises of God. Steve was enrolled in a Bible class and kept seeing "the name of God" in his study. He asked the teacher "What is the name of God," and didn't feel he got a satisfactory answer. In a roundabout way, studying the promises of God is a study in the attributes of God. John 16:33 assures us that Jesus has overcome the world and sin. Proverbs 3:5-6 is a promise that God will direct our paths, but is also a call to trust in Him. In 2 Peter 1:2-4, God shows that he is absolutely committed to His promises. Lamentations 5:19 is about how God's throne endures. James 1:2-4 encourages us to have joy in our trials. Psalm 46:1-5 grounds us in the Lord through the trials of a cursed world. What is the difference between joy and happiness? Happiness is an emotion, and can be easily taken from us. On July 1 the Indianapolis Star published a piece that mentioned a pregnant 10-year-old girl seeking an abortion. According to this article she had to go to Indiana because her home state of Ohio wouldn't allow it--all because of those fiendish Supreme Court justices! The hazy event spread around the world and became part of the abortion debate (as intended), and President Biden mentioned it in a speech. After conservative news commentators and guests expressed their doubts about the story, police arrested the perpetrator on July 12. A child abuser is now off the streets! As details are now coming out, they raise questions about coverups and political maneuvering. Why didn't the news initially focus on catching a criminal? Why does it seem like the arrest became a convenient trap for libel? Why did independent journalist Megan Fox of PJ Media have to struggle to get answers and be denied them? Who loses in these political games? The 10-year-old girl and the many victims who are like her! Chelsea and I discuss what we know of the timeline and how abortion access isn't the solution to child rape. It actually enables abuse and hides evidence! The real Christmas story - that of Christ coming into the world - is an account of God's amazing grace. And the wonders and beauties of God's grace are seen on the opening page of the New Testament, before the Lord Jesus is even born. The family tree of Jesus Christ is not a boring list of hard to pronounce names - it is a genealogy of grace. John Stott wisely said, "The Bible is a dangerous book to read. For in reading the Bible, we hear the words of Christ." And as Christ speaks with authority like none other, we need to obey what we hear from Him. The great news is, building our life on obedience to his word is the safest thing to do! It's time for another lightning round! We are always thankful for the questions and comments that come in, but it can be tough to answer them all in the program. So, from time to time we gather together some of the questions that can be answered in short form for a lightning round. This week we go back for questions about our recent Taboo Words video as well as clarifications on the concept of guilt, repentance, and lifting hands in prayer. Check the timestamps to jump to some of our other questions as well. 1:39 - What does Christ mean when he references the altar in Matthew 5:23? 6:25 - Rapture, is it a special event or a generic term? 9:31 - Did God create other gods? 13:58 - Is guilt a sin? What is the difference between feeling guilt and being guilty? 18:52 - Looking at Ezra 18, isn't repentance enough to satisfy God's wrath? Was Jesus' physical sacrifice God's plan? 23:40 - Should we be lifting hands in prayer? 27:24 - Does Job predate the writings of Genesis? Presented by Ryan Kingsley & Luke Hulley As believers, we are aware that sexual sin is a compromise and Biblically should not be tolerated, yet, it seems particularly difficult to bring this area into the light and for believers to walk in freedom. In this session, Ryan Kingsley and Luke Hulley take a closer look at the issue of sexual sin in the church. In particular, they discuss why tolerating sexual sin is satan's silent strategy to disarm the church and the vital importance of accountability, confession and repentance in walking people into freedom. They remind us of the loving discipline of the Father, whose heart is to redeem and restore those He loves. In this bonus episode, we continue our journey through Joyce Meyer's "Battlefield of the Mind," focusing on Chapter 11: A Doubtful and Unbelieving Mind.Joyce Meyer starts by defining doubt as standing in two ways, implying uncertainty and wavering between hope and fear. She distinguishes doubt as a tactic of the enemy to lead us into disobedience, whereas unbelief is outright disobedience. This distinction is crucial because it shows us that doubt is an attack on our faith, and we have the power to correct it and realign ourselves with God's promises.Meyer shares a powerful story of a man battling sickness, who, despite intermittent attacks of doubt, continued to confess healing scriptures. God revealed to him the spiritual battle behind his doubts, showing him that each time he confessed the word, the enemy retreated. This illustrates that doubt is not from God but is planted by the enemy to negate our faith.Personal anecdotes and strategies are shared, emphasizing the importance of knowing and speaking God's word to combat doubt. Practical steps are provided, such as memorizing scriptures, studying the Bible in context, and writing out prayers of authority incorporating the word. The episode concludes with a reflection on the faith of Abraham, who, against all odds, believed God's promise of many descendants. Like Abraham, we're encouraged to be fully convinced that God will do what He promises, regardless of how circumstances appear.Scriptures Referenced:Matthew 14:31Mark 6:61 Kings 18:21Romans 12:3Romans 4:18-211 Corinthians 1:271 Samuel 16:7Matthew 14:24-32James 1:5-7Matthew 21:18-22Matthew 17:14-20Hebrews 4:11Romans 1:17Grab a copy of the book: https://amzn.to/3T6Kg0p--To watch the replay of the Christian Content Creator's Townhall, visit: https://anchoredmedia.kartra.com/webinar/MDnW18K7BprKTo apply and learn more about Anchored Media's Purposed to Podcast Program: https://www.videoask.com/fyt8cv1k0Our Sponsors:* Check out Delta Air Lines: www.delta.com* Check out NPR: npr.org* Check out NetSuite: netsuite.com/BLESSED* Check out Rosetta Stone and use my code TODAY for a great deal: https://www.rosettastone.com/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/blessed-bossed-up7264/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
