Despre proiectul 'Back to the roots', într-o discuție cu Cristina Nan, președinta Asociației KulturTandem și Mihai Balabaș, muzician sub îndrumarea căruia studenții descoperă lucruri intersante despre izvoarele muzicii tradiționale.

Shaun Williams was well entrenched and purposefully building on the foundations he had already laid in his corporate life. Then, following a chat with a friend at a party, he became aware of a “nature quest on Noongar Boodja”, run by Claire Vanderplank from Partnering with Nature. He researched, prepared and finally made the decision to do it. So, not long after the suggestion was made to him, Shaun found himself travelling to country Western Australia early one morning - after attending a “bucks night” - to test himself over 8 days - 4 of them in solitude - and experience some something that was approaching spiritual enlightenment.
Loneliness can feel like a constant companion when we're in the closet. But what about the loneliness we experience – and perhaps aren't prepared for – AFTER we come out? What did you do to feel accepted and belonging in the community? Let's explore the loneliness we can feel after we come out in this conversation with my friend, Shaun Williams of Bent Couch Counselling. Grab a coffee and join me and Shaun and listen to his beautiful story. About Shaun: Born in country Victoria and father to four kids, Shaun finally admitted to himself and his family that he was gay in 2019. In working to overcome the challenges his new life presented, he started an international peer support group for 800 formerly married gay men with kids - Gay Fathers Worldwide. Realising life had more to offer, Shaun gave up his long-term career in public health construction and embarked on a new vocation as mental health professional servicing the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. In 2022 he launched his own company Bent Couch Counselling which has successfully helped many men overcome many issues including anxiety, depression and loneliness. Shaun is a local leader in the Melbourne gay community as deputy Chair of the City of Port Philip LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee and the Small business director for Globe Victoria which assists LGBTQIA+ communities, small businesses and professionals to connect. Later this year he has been invited to speak at the Australian Counselling Conference. Shaun lives in Melbourne with his new partner and is living his best life. From DUI & Deception to Deliverance (Black Love) - with Shaun Williams My hubby Shaun is back with today! We spill the tea on how we met, our tumultuous dating, including a tragic car accident & DUI, the ups and downs of getting pregnant and married at a young age to where we are today. Whew! The first real situation we experienced together was at Shaun's senior prom. I left with one of my guy friends and Shaun, in a drunken rage, followed and ended up in a car accident. One of the lowest moments in my teenage years was this night. Shaun totaled his car and went to jail. After the accident, we didn't see each other because my mom wouldn't allow me to see him. Shaun lost his football scholarship, experienced depression, and was shipped off to boot camp. Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder Once Shaun decided it was time for change, he left for boot camp. He really felt that this experience helped grow him into a man. He would write several letters to me as he was away, but I was never the long distance type. After many months of being away, Shaun returned from boot camp and ended up running into my mom and me at the mall. Shaun said he was getting married (which was a lie), but once I got ahold of this news, I knew I couldn't let this happen. We slowly rekindled our relationship and got back together. Surprise Visitor It was time for me to go off to college and Shaun decided to join me. One month into college, we got a big surprise. I was pregnant. This news completely changed the trajectory of our lives. I knew that it wasn't possible for me to raise a child in a dorm room, so I knew I had to drop out and leave college. Since our church taught us that we must get married because we'd had a child out of wedlock, we married at 18 and 21. Ahem, not advisable. Early Marriage Infidelity Shaun and I experienced so many struggles when it came to being new parents and newlyweds. We suffered from infidelity on both sides and experienced a really tough relationship in the earlier years. It got so bad that I didn't think that I would be able to continue on with this marriage. It was extremely challenging trying to build a family foundation when nothing in our life felt stable. We both knew something had to give. It was time for us to both start working on ourselves, creating a relationship with God and healing things that held us back from being all we knew we could be. ALSO LISTEN TO: Rebuilding Trust: Rebuilding Us: Our Journey Out of Infidelity Turning Shadows to Light We both knew that there was healing needed in order to allow our relationship to survive. I got my relationship with the Lord back on track, and my life completely changed. Shaun got therapy and started realizing who he actually was. We both started healing from things that caused us pain in the past. It sounds super simple, but it's true: this healing really allowed us to come together and create the family that we have today. Through God's love, grace, and guidance, we were able to not only survive our marriage but thrive in our marriage. Our journey from DUI, deception, near-divorce, and doubt has led us to sharing our testimony with as many people as we can. We are a living witness that if God can do it for us, he can do it for you too . . . if you're willing to surrender, forgive, repent, and let him make you new. A woman has been fined £100 after being spotted feeding ducks on a stretch of the River Medway in Tonbridge. Susan Watson tore up a slice of bread and scattered it into the water before being approached by an enforcement officer. The council have since admitted they 'got this one wrong' and given a refund - find out what some of you have had to say about it. Also in today's podcast, ambulance workers in Kent have gone out on strike. It's the third time they've walked out in recent weeks in an ongoing dispute over pay. We've been speaking to the GMB Union. A Kent man whose dad died as a result of a contaminated blood scandal says he hopes vital lessons will be learned. Peter Wratten got hepatitis C after being given infected blood products that had been imported from the US - hear from his son Tim. Final preparations are being made ahead of the opening of what's set to be one of Kent's biggest charity shops. Volunteers have already sorted through three tonnes of donations to the Salvation Army's new building in Folkestone. The work of a charity that started out in Kent is now going to be felt across the world. The Street Soccer Foundation uses football to work with young people and has been endorsed by Commonwealth bosses. A Higham salon owner has announced she's finally hanging up her scissors after more than 50 years. Irene Carter was just 15 when she started an apprenticeship. She's been speaking to our reporter Alex Langridge. And in sport, hear from the Gillingham manager following their win in front of a sold-out Priestfield at the weekend. It finished 1-0 against Crawley Town thanks to a goal from captain Shaun Williams in the second half.

How to Stay Connected When You're Apart - with Shaun Williams In the lifespan of a marriage, you are likely to spend time apart, whether temporarily or more long-term. Today, we're discussing some creative ways to stay connected even when you're unable to be face-to-face. This episode was actually Shaun's idea, likely because we have spent a lot of time apart lately due to various business and work trips. We all know how easy it is to lose connection in marriage. Well, prolonged distance makes it even worse. That's why it's important to be proactive and diligent when you know that one or both of you will be away. Shaun and I discuss several times when we've been apart . . . from just a few weeks and even up to a year when he was away on military leave. We haven't always gotten it right, and each time we're apart, we learn more and more of what each other needs and ways we can help ensure the other spouse feels secure and important. I'm sharing some creative practices you can do the next time you or your spouse/partner takes a trip. So, grab a pen or better yet, save this podcast to refer back to. Happy listening! How Men and Women Communicate Differently (Communication 101 Series) - with Shaun Williams Men are from Mars; women are from Venus, they said. How we communicate can differ as men and women. However, I want to help you take your communication skills out of this world! I couldn't resist. Back by popular demand, we have special guest, Shaun Williams, my hubby of nearly 23 years, on the episode today. He is in rare form, and I think we spent a solid quarter of this episode in hysterics. His shenanigans were on full display. Hopefully, you'll still find tons of value of out today's show. Is it really true that men and women communicate differently? Well, of course, some of these factors are generalizations, but the truth is, we are different. Men actually use different parts of their brain to communicate than women do. The science behind our differences is quite astounding. Add to that society's "norms," and you have yourself a recipe for a communication catastrophe. But it doesn't have to be this way. I'm Different than You If we could understand and acknowledge that we are different than our spouses/partners and that one way of communicating isn't better or worse than the other, we'd be so much better. Truthfully, opposites do attract, and we are better together. Different isn't bad; it's just different. Part of the joy of marriage is learning to appreciate, respect, and honor those differences. And the Winner Is . . . As promised, I announce the winner of our Podcast Review Contest on today's episode! THANK YOU to all who submitted a review. How to Have Non-Awkward Conversations About Sex with Your Spouse - with Shaun Williams (Shameless Sex Series) My hubby Shaun is our guest today, and we're talking about how to broach the conversation of unmet desires, fantasies, and unrealized hopes concerning sex in your marriage. This is one episode you'll want to hear especially if talking about sex makes you squeemish or triggers feelings of embarrasment, shame, or even pain. The truth is talking with your spouse about sex should be normal. Somehow, society has made it weird. How should you start? When should these conversations take place? What does it mean for Christian spouses to embrace their sexuality? What if talking about your sex life makes you more insecure? Shaun and I tackle all these hesitations and more in today's show. Plus, hear a listener's question in our Q & A with Dana Che segment concerning a previous episode on why married sex is the best sex. Forsaking All Others (Marriage Vows Series) – with Shaun Williams Part of the wedding vows that can get a little sticky is the whole “forsaking all others” part. What does that mean? Can married people really not have friends? That's not how I read it. I do, however, believe that once you're married, all other people have to take a backseat to the marriage bond (oneness) you are trying to create. If there's a friend (platonic or not) that is threatening your union, they've gotta go. Kids? Give ‘em the ax! Well, maybe not technically, but if you have kids, you know they will try to come in between your marriage. Don't let them. Co-workers, best friends, parents, etc., all these relationships have to be re-evaluated. Now, while I don't believe in isolating yourself as a married couple, I do believe in using wisdom and communication to know how best to “re-categorize” some folks in your life once you get married. Real and Raw Today's episode was real and raw, and if I think about it long enough, a tad embarrassing, because Shaun and I had a little argument on the podcast. Yep, I kept it in there, so don't judge us. This information will be used for training purposes. Anyway, I'd love to hear your take on what does it mean to “forsake all others” in your marriage? How have you done this well, and how have you messed up? If we can be real, so can you. This is a worthy conversation that many married couples are simply not having. Yet, they should. Communicate your needs, desires, and even fears about your spouse's relationships with others outside your marriage. I want to make something clear: you should retain autonomy of yourself in whatever relationship you're in. This isn't some weird, cultish “lose yourself” teaching. You are a unique individual and will always be, but remember the purpose of marriage is oneness. Okay, that's all the teasers I'm going to give you. You have to listen to the full episode to get the rest of the goods. Links Mentioned in this Episode Join the Real Relationship Talk / Christian Marriages & Relationships Facebook Community! [Sweet Repeat]: Making Love Outside the Bedroom – with Shaun Williams One of our highest-ranked podcast episodes was the episode where Shaun and I talked about making love outside the bedroom. We were 100 percent real and raw and heard from many of you how much that episode helped in your marriages. We were gearing up for a couples' workshop (of the same name) at the time. The workshop was a huge success, and we are still hearing from couples who attended about how their intimacy (in all forms) has reached new heights. Well, friends, I've been battling a respiratory infection over the last week that took away my voice, so instead of trying to prepare a new episode and introduction, Shaun took the helm on the podcast this week! He wanted to re-air the “Making Love Outside the Bedroom” episode in an attempt to butter me up once I'm better. LOL. On a serious note, though, we share some major nuggets on this episode about communication, foreplay, understanding the emotional needs of yourself and your spouse, and so much more. Even if you've already heard this episode, it's definitely worth a “sweet repeat.” So, put the kids out of the room, pop in your earphones or AirPods, and take good notes. If you’re a single person looking for solid relationship tips, look no further than today’s episode featuring my husband, Shaun, as we share from our heart some wisdom that will help you to value yourself and to make better decisions in your relationships. First off, full disclosure, Shaun and I were super young when we got married . . . I was 18, and he was 21. So, technically, our single days were pretty short-lived. However, we’ve heard (and continue to hear) from our single friends about the struggles they’re facing in the single game and want to help steer you clear of some common pitfalls. We thought it was fitting for us, as a married couple, to give some advice for single people from a compassionate yet challenging perspective. One of my Facebook followers on the Real Relationship Talk page sent me a message asking why married men don’t offer “relationship tips” to single women. Um . . . let’s just lay aside the obvious problems with that statement and get to her concerns. She wrote, “Annnnd why is it that married men who seem like ‘Mr. Right’ with their spouse don't have any Mr. Right recommendations for the single sistahs in their lives? I feel like we're out here trying to point ‘em out on our own.” I asked Shaun to take a stab at this question, and his response spawned today’s episode. Relationship Tip #1: Value Yourself This may seem like common sense, but far too many single people do not value themselves. They are not self-aware. They lack boundaries, and therefore, other people do not value them either. I see it all the time—beautiful, strong, smart, and capable women allowing themselves to be treated like options by undeserving men. This madness has to stop. The first relationship tip we give to single people is to honor yourself . . . value yourself. If you don’t, no one else will. Relationship Tip #2: Stop Bending to Society’s Norms Listen, if you don’t know who you are, you’ll allow everyone else to tell you who you are. Part of being confident and valuing yourself is shutting out society’s expectations, labels, and rules. You are not a Kardashian. You don’t have Kardashian money. You don’t have Kardashian clout. And you do not have Kris Jenner for your mom. Stop trying to “keep up with the Kardashians” or Kardashian-like expectations. No one’s body looks like that, not even theirs. So give yourself a break, and focus on your strengths. If you love you, other people will love you too. Relationship Tip #3: Stop Giving It Away for Free Here’s some old-school relationship advice that really works. If you’re giving all the goods away and allowing your boyfriend/girlfriend to be too comfortable, why would they want to marry you? We’re not suggesting that you start playing games, but you do need to ask yourself what are you willing to withhold in order to encourage your significant other to make an investment in you? The age-old adage Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? still holds, friends. Relationship Tip #4: Don’t Ghost Your Friends When You’re in a Relationship We’ve all had “that” friend. The one who disappears like Casper when they begin a new relationship. It’s immature and insensitive. You need your friends. Don’t allow your new relationship status to undermine the very people you’re going to need to lean on when said relationship is over. Friends give us a different perspective. They encourage us when we’re down. And they bring balance to your life. So, don’t be shady; be a good friend. I am so grateful to my husband, Shaun, for speaking to the hearts of my single listeners. In this episode of the Secret MENS Business podcast we speak with Shaun Williams, the creator of the GAY FATHERS Facebook support group We discuss his coming out to his ex wife, how he told his children, meeting then man of his dreams, and feeling rejected within the gay community. His story is embowering, brave and filled with self acceptance. As awkward and shameful as it might feel, each of us is unique in who or what we find desirable, and while sexual desire is often mysterious or even frightening, when you boil it down it’s related to longings for love, affection, and safety. Making Love . . . Outside the Bedroom – with Shaun Williams (All About Sex Series) What does it truly mean to make love? We’ve been told that making love is all about sex, but the truth is so much better than that. Sex is great, but making love is better. In today’s podcast episode, my husband Shaun is back to help us understand the differences between how men and women approach sexual differences and he really talks a lot about a man’s number one need: respect. Create Healthy Habits in Your MarriageThe truth of the matter is your love making is dependent on the healthy habits you’ve created in your marriage. Anyone can have sex, but not everyone can make love. Like, literally, how have you made love in your marriage? Some of these habits Shaun and I discuss are:Investing in your marriage on the front endChoosing to be consistent with spending quality time together (someone say date night!)Resurrecting the art of kindnessCommunicating about your needs (emotional, spiritual, and sexual) Shaun also schooled us on his revelation on what he did to get more respect from me. Fellas, these truths right here might be a hard pill to swallow, but this is gold. I hope you can relate. Communicating Your Sexual NeedsSome spouses are super talkative between the sheets, and others need more help communicating their sexual needs. At the end of the day, only you can tell your spouse what you like and what you don’t. My heart goes out to both women and men who are unfulfilled and feel taken advantage of because they are not communicating their sexual needs. In episode 4, on how to have a more fulfilling sex life, my friend Jessica and I talked at length about the need to communicate your sexual needs, and she gave some good tips on learning how to speak up for yourself and enjoy your spouse more. Foreplay All DayI started to name this episode “foreplay all day.” That, in essence, is what is lacking in many marriages. Most husbands see foreplay as a necessary means to get what he really wants, while most wives’ sexual experience will be greatly hindered without it. You may have heard that sex starts in the kitchen . . . this is true. In the morning while making that coffee, at your office while you’re in a meeting, on your drive home from work . . . These are all opportune times to sow seeds (no pun intended) into your spouse. Focusing on each other during the day pays huge dividends at night. Be sure to listen especially to the end where Shaun talks about his take on sex toys. I really had to fight to keep a straight face! Resources:Register Today! Making Love . . . Have you ever wondered how married couples stay together after experiencing infidelity? Are you, maybe, searching for help with affair recovery after finding out that your spouse has been cheating? Are you struggling to forgive him/her or wondering if it’s time to just move on? In today’s episode, my husband, Shaun, and I have a very transparent and honest conversation about how we recovered from infidelity and how we rebuilt trust in our marriage. To be honest, this isn’t easy. Recovering from infidelity takes a lot of work and you will have to pay a price. But it is possible. There are many couples who have overcome this kind of trauma in their marriage and their marriages have actually become even stronger as a result. If you are looking for help forgiving your spouse or looking to recover from an affair, you need to listen to this episode.Looking for one-on-one or group marriage coaching, schedule a discovery call with me at http://danache.com/coaching. A strong away point for the Lions at St Andrews - should it have been so much more though?A fantastic goal from Shaun Williams in the 60th minute certainly put the Lions in a winning position, but sloppy defensive work from a 77th minute corner allowed the Blues back into the match. One of those situations where your glass is either half-full or half-empty, but one thing is for sure, this club is looking upwards rather than downwards since the arrival of Gary Rowett. As always this week's show includes the usual in-game stream of consciousness with yours truly, followed by post-game comment with Phil Clarke @philclarke0170Reviews and ratings are always welcome on Apple podcasts - much appreciated in advance!Arrivederci MillwallNick@CBL_Magazine Hosted on Acast. A fab demo from Shaun Williams (shaunteckno@gmail.com) today, showing us the brilliant new built-in features of location-based reminders and email direct to your A-lady. US-only (boo) but hopefully coming to us all at some point before next Christmas…
This week, Con Murphy and Conan Byrne ask former Bohemians & Shamrock Rovers striker Gary O'Neill about his career highs and his battle with testicular cancer. The lads also check in with former League player & current Republic of Ireland international Shaun Williams.

I was fortunate to have been on the latest episode of this podcast with Shaun Williams that went out yesterday. Lots of waffling about technology and the A-lady. Check it out at tech-wizard.info.
“I like winning. I love winning games and I love seeing the boys win.” Perhaps this will come to be the iconic Neil Harris quote. I talk to a couple of demonstrators while they were demonstrating at events this past weekend. First I talk with Payne Anne Chassen and Sylvia Andrassy, they are in Pampano Beach, Florida for the FABA SE Regional meet. The meet was held at the Guild, a non-profit folk art school started by Shaun Williams and Sylvia Andrassy. Payne was demonstrating a corner shelf with antique glass bulbs incorporated into the design. Then I talk to Dennis Dusek who was demonstrating garden tools at the Weaverville Hammer-in, this is held at the Jake Jackson Museum Weaverville, California. He walked around and spoke with the other demonstrators that were there, Monica Coyne, Brett Moten, Dan Perkins, Victoria Ritter and Mark Aspery. Links: Facebook page for FABA SE Jake Jackson Website
This week’s guests are Shaun Williams and Sylvia Andrassy from Pampano Beach. FL. Shaun has been blacksmithing for 10 years and is the SE Regional coordinator of the Florida Artist Blacksmith Association. Sylvia was this year’s FABA conference event coordinator. Together they have started a non-profit folk art school called the Guild Urban Craft and Folk Art School. What We Talked About This FABA Conference that was held in the last weekend in October of 2017, had the highest attendance ever in FABA’s entire history with 450 attendees. The conference had 6 specialty workshops and two demonstrator workshops by Lisa Johnson and Claudio Bottero. Shaun talks about his visit to Claudio’s blacksmith shop in Italy. Sylvia tells us about her beginnings in blacksmithing 3 years ago and when Shaun asked her to go to a blacksmith conference as a date! Dark Angel Armory and Forge is Shaun’s forging business, he also started teaching beginner blacksmithing and knife making classes from this location. The classes grew so fast that Shaun and Sylvia decided to start a Guild Folk Art School offering different types of “medieval” art classes; leatherworking, ceramics, jewelry making. The classes are booked 3 to 4 months in advance. The Guild also offers a monthly “membership” to the students who have taken previous classes. They recommend an inspiring artistic Italian blacksmith book, “La Magia de Febrero del Tutto Italiano Centro Fabra Milidia” or “The Magic of Italian Forged Artist, 100 Artist 1000 Ideas” Links Florida Artist Blacksmith Association – blacksmithing.org The Guild Urban Craft and Folk-art school - https://www.guildfl.com/ Dark Angel Armory and Forge – https://www.darkangelarmory.com/ If you enjoyed this episode, I would love it if you would support the show by: telling your friends. sharing this episode using the social sharing buttons below. subscribing to the show and leaving a rating and review in iTunes. This is the Blacksmith Buzz Bulletin. Where you get the low-down about upcoming classes and events that are happening in the following month, I’m talking about December 2017 for this bulletin. If you have an event or class you would like to submit, send an email to info@blacksmither.com and I will send you the details I need for the press release. I have to apologize for not releasing this on Nov 1st, 5 days ago. I was visiting my family in Virginia Beach and before that, I attended the FABA conference in Ocala Florida watching the incredibly talented master blacksmith and sculptor Claudio Bottero who is from Italy. The conference began on Oct 27th and ended on the 29th and the demonstrators were Claudio Bottero, Lisa Johnson, a jewelry/metalsmithing director at an art center in Florida and Sam Salvati, a bladesmith from Maryland. It was so magical to watch Claudio and his son Massimiliano, aka Massy, forge an incredible human figure sitting on a throne. The whole sculpture ended up being about 5 ft tall. Claudio worked with strikers the whole time, using many different sized top and bottom fullers to shape the legs, head, face, arms and hands. In fact a lot of the fullers he was using (maybe a set of 10 sizes) were made by Dennis Dusek, who was there striking for him, along with others. Dennis has a great system for these fullers, he forges custom tongs that hold all 10 different sized inset fullers. You can private message him on Facebook or Instagram, Dennis Dusek. Sunday, Claudio taught a 6-hour masters class to 6 lucky students who were handpicked for the class. He taught them how to forge a hand and a finger. Anyone at the conference could watch the class, and see the progress of each of the students. One thing I picked up on was how Claudio always dunked his long-handled wire brush in water before he brushed the hot piece. He explained that the steam produced popped off the scale faster while brushing. I will be trying this because the end result was really clean metal. If you want to hear more about the conference, I’ll be having Shaun Williams, the conference coordinator, on the show soon, a little something to look forward to. But if you want some instant gratification head over to the FABA facebook page for pics and videos of the conference. Now onto the first announcement which is a special announcement about a possible upcoming Tire Hammer Building class, this announcement is to see much interest there would be for this class. Let me tell you the scoop and then you can decide if you would like to attend it: Tire Hammer Build class instructed by Clay Spencer The dates would be April 19th-22nd, with a pre-work session on the weekend preceding the workshop, they are shooting for about 12-15 participants with everyone leaving with a finished hammer Held in Troy Ohio at the SOFA facility Approximate cost $1500 If interested contact Mike Brennan at m.mbre574@gmail.com by November 30th Details will be available soon on the SOFA website at https://sofablacksmiths.org/ Payment should NOT be sent at this time. Just an email to express interest.

An excellent win at the Kassam Stadium for the Lions, often under pressure from a decent footballing side, sees Millwall climb the table away from the dread drop zone and looking instead at the sunlit uplands of the top six. Don't get too carried away though as we are still defending like St Boniface School for Young Ladies' butterfly collecting team, please see the opening goal for Oxford by way of reference. This week's show includes my usual stream of consciousness looking out across the retail car park yesterday, as well as post match reviewing with SLP journalist Mark Litchfield @IAmTheLitchTop marks to Fred Onyedinma yesterday, aided and abetted by Steve Morison, Shaun Williams and Ben Thompson. The Lions, down to ten men for almost an hour thanks to Shaun Williams' sudden loss of reason after 28 minutes, gave everything to try to take something away from the Ricoh Stadium. Unfortunately the Sky Blues' passing and ability to stretch play eventually proving too much for Millwall in a 1-2 loss. Williams's red card probably means that will be that for his season, whether that's a good or bad thing will depend on your personal taste dear listener ...Today's show includes comment from the Ricoh, as well as the welcome return of post match analysis with Mark Litchfield - check out Mark's stuff via Twitter @IAmTheLitch or marklitchfieldblog.wordpress.com Hosted on Acast. My interview this session is with Shaun Williams, who is the king of mass space model production, creating numerous models for the various games software he has worked on through the 20 years of his career. In assoication with this I have been reading today that there has been a noteworthy article from the U.K.'s independent newspaper announcing that the Museum of Modern Art in New York has publically supported computer games as a form of art. This of course includes 3D games. There has been a lively debate over the last decade of whether games can be described as art. With this announcement from this prestigous New York art museum, then it looks official, that games can be described as art. Visitors to the Museum of Modern Art will soon see Pac-Man displayed alongside Andy Warhol and Picasso. Initially there are 14 video games, including the iconic Pac-Man, Eve on-line and Myst (Chuck Carter issue 12). to start off this new category in its collection. One expert who advised the curators, said gaming could increasingly become “one of the most important” art forms. The museum sought out scholars, historians, critics and legal experts from the computer game world to draw up a list that includes The Sims, a series which by last year had sold over 150 million copies. Art connoisseurs may raise an eyebrow as gamers will actually be able to play the titles in the gallery. So perhaps in years to come, some of the work that my interviewee Shaun or you the listener is creating may end up in an Art Museum, with pride of place. Enjoy the interview with Shaun
