At least on the face of it, this short Emily Dickinson poem asks for a lifetime of experience all at once, all its grief and joy. As I understood it while creating this performance with original music, she weighs grief and joy as Taoist components. My music today for this has a touch of a slowcore approach. but I was also thinking of John Lee Hooker, and mic'ed up my foot-stomps for percussion in the electric guitar and voice recording that mimics that combination on Hooker's earliest Blues sides. The Parlando Project combines various words (mostly literary poetry) with original music in different styles. You can hear over 700 other examples at our blog and archives at frankhudson.org

I'm going to brag for a second. I hear a lot of records and I work with a lot of different promotional companies where I get access to music that most of you will never hear. Some of it is awesome. Some of it is not my thing, and some of it is pure in a way that can't be explained.I've heard the new record by Starless, and it falls squarely in the last category. Sure, there are hints of things we've heard in the past, but the band doesn't rest on the laurels of its clear influences. Instead, it twists and turns and pulls and evokes something so clearly powerful and spiritual that there's no way you can deny it.I will tell you that their new record is an absolute 100% must buy for any discriminating listener who is seeking to not only have their mind blown but be taken to a new planet that doesn't care about you, because it drops you off by yourself, where it mesmerizes you so you forget where you are, where it ultimately destroys you while you sleep. The word special is an understatement. Enlarge Your Music !

Mix 15 # Who built this machine? GrégoireTracklist :Magnog - Learning Forgetfulness Bluetile Lounge - Figure Ground Bedhead – The Present Codeine – Cigarette Machine Shipping News - Sheets And Cylinders Duster - Untitled (61) The For Carnation – Salo Brian Crook - I Can't Hear You Slowdive - J's Heaven Bark Psychosis – Fingerspit Movietone - Noche Marina Flies Inside The Sun – She Passes By Hood – Untitled #2 Codeine – Wird Lowercase – Thistrainwillnotstop
