You best put seatbelts on your ears, folks, because we're about to take them for a ride! That's right, this episode we're all nominating our favourite (or tactically nominating the most likely poll-winner) driving games! As always, we've got an eclectic mix of games from a wide variety of eras; from the early '90s to the late '00s; from arcades to consoles. As long as you sit yourself in a traditional car, hit that accelerator and enjoy the thrill of virtual driving, you're in. That means no kart racers or silly shite like Sonic R and Snowboard Kids. They'll likely come up later. Once you've heard the episode, head on over to our Twitter @VG_HOF and cast your vote for the game you want to be inducted. Don't forget to leave us a lovely review on your pod platform of choice and if you want us to read out your questions, opinions, measurements, list of greatest fears, then email videogamehof@gmail.com
Johannes Lugstein is a solodev behind the game Slopecrashers. Slopecrashers is currently in-development with a projected release date some time in 2023. There is a demo currently available onn Steam. Slopecrashers is an arcade-style snowboarding game with wacky animal characters and insane tricks to pull off. I really enjoyed my time with the demo, especially in online games. In today's episode we will discuss SteamNextFest, solodev, marketing, releasing a demo, game design documents, implementing online multiplayer, and much more. Podcast Kids 2! Welcome back and happy holidays! We decided to look back to our own childhoods this month, and to cap it off appropriately during this year's very unfortunate winter cold snap, we're going to be talking about Snowboard Kids 2. This is an N64 kart racer, but still not the one you think of when you hear someone say “N64 kart racer.” And also there are no karts. And your snowboards evidently don't need snow to function. Snowboard Kids 2 is an enigma. It's a racing game, featuring powerups that are both offensive and defensive, races, challenge modes and boss battles, and a threadbare plot that centers around a villain who just wants to hang out with you, and who you ignore. It's pretty standard stuff for the genre, but it gets by on its solid presentation and a killer soundtrack. Honestly, there isn't too much to say or that you need to know going into this one, so tune in to hear us wax nostalgic about old favorites. We're going to be talking about the sound design and the catchy music, why boss battles should never have been a thing in kart racers, and we rename a powerup in a way you'll wish we didn't. Thank you for joining us again this week! This is a light, fun one that we hope will be enjoyable at this time of year. So we hope you're staying warm and that any traveling you may have had to do has gone safely, and that maybe we can accompany you on the way back. We're going to be taking a short break after this. We'll be putting out the NOCLIP Awards next time and then one more Pocket episode, and then we'll see you in again in February…I mean Fanbruary. So get your game suggestions in over on our Discord or in the comments or at our email address and we'll announce what we're up to near the end of the month.
That's a hit podcast for groovy cats. You just don't dig it. Welcome back to the podcast and to the final month of the year! Today, we're going to be talking about Space Station Silicon Valley, a fairly strange puzzle platforming game from 1998 from a developer that would go on to become Rockstar North. When I say “fairly strange,” I'm predominately talking about its concept: you play as a robot's CPU and are able to jump into and control a variety of robot animals which you then use to accomplish different tasks. That rules. That's just an objectively cool idea on paper. Unfortunately, whether it's an inexperience with the medium, pressure to release a game that fits in with other bestselling titles of the time, or just plain bad decision making, the final product just does not do service to the idea behind it. The game is bloated, overlong and full of tasks and missions that don't take advantage of the mechanics the game sets up. Some other strange decisions include the games tone, writing and music, but these are all things that need a bit more set up we get into in the episode. The game still holds some nostalgia value, and the concept alone is worth at least looking into it, but the strongest lesson you'll probably take from this title is how to squander a very good idea. We're going to be talking about early 3D game frustrations this game does not succeed in avoiding, level and mission design in a game where theoretically anything is possible, and we debate on what the main characters' names are (and do actually get it right!). The way our preparation works, we usually have games planned for October and November well in advance, October due to the Halloween theming and November holding the games we were excited to do earlier in the year and needed to find space for. Because of this, December usually ends up being a pretty wild time where we end up choosing games that are either recent suggestions or, like Space Station Silicon Valley, distant memories of games we have had in the back our minds for one reason or another and just never got around to. Does this game still hold nostalgia value for you? Let us know in the comments or over on our Discord! Next time, we're closing out the year with a similarly long lost childhood title, Snowboard Kids 2, and then we're preparing for the NOCLIP Awards at the end of the year, so we hope you'll stick with us for that!

I love this game, my guest, Rob Cox loves this game, you should love this game. This is a cult classic. I really hope we can inspire some great memories of this great game. Snowboard kids is a great game for the N64. I did not think a lot of people had played this but maybe I am wrong.
There was an era where everything was extreme. The counterculture flourished with the rise of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Badass soundtracks, Bam Margera, and sticking it to the man. In this episode, we discuss our favorite extreme sports video games from Tony Hawk to BMX XXX, from Snowboard Kids to Jet Set Radio Future, join as we gush about the good games and cringe when we think about scooting up to skateparks. Grab your boards and hit the slopes with us as we carve our way through Snowboard Kids on the N64! Way back in 1998, cart racers reigned supreme, but few franchises took such an interesting leap by borrowing the formula and repurposing it on the slopes! It's a lesser known game, but an absolute cult classic which has been requested several times by our listeners. But just because it's remembered well doesn't mean it still PLAYS well. Before flashing our lift tickets, we do a deep dive on Microsoft's recent acquisition of Blizzard/Activision, plus we get updates on Andrew's progress with Horizon: Zero Dawn (just in time for the release of Horizon: Forbidden West), and explore Mikey's new obsession with Station 11. Spill vi snakker om i episode 14: Anthem, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Apex Legends, Wargroove, Snowboard Kids, Snowboard Kids 2, SBK: Snowboard Kids, Doom, Doom Eternal, Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Double Dragon, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Silver, Pokémon Sapphire, Super Mario Land, Tetris, Tetris 99, Fantasy Life, Tomodachi Life, SmileBasic, Contra, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Persona 4 Golden, Tetris Attack, Ape Out, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, The Last of Us, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Destiny 2, Devil May Cry, DmC Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry V, Bayonetta, God of War, The Division 2, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Metroid, The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey, Dragon Quest IX, Chrono Trigger, Octopath Traveler, Donkey Kong, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Angry Birds.
The BioShock Marathon is complete! We say goodbye to the franchise with the two-part DLC for Infinite that was released between 2013 and 2014. Does Burial At Sea do a good job of wrapping up the series so far? Does the sudden turn to stealth gameplay pay off? Snowboard Kids 3 when? Prepare for an extended argument about which alternate version of a character is actually not an alternate version, but the version that we consider the prime one, I think, this whole thing gets way too confusing way too quickly.
Winter is, well, here, and your hosts have a brand new episode to keep you warm on those dark, lonely nights. Greg hibernates through the whole episode. Giovanni and Colin have a nice fireside chat about snowboarding. Dave pitches the most ambitious crossover of all time. It's an episode the whole family can love, except for maybe the first 20 minutes that's all thirsting for The Grinch. Please send us your personalized Grinch fan fiction on Facebook and Twitter. You can leave your warm beverage recipes in the comments section of our YouTube Channel. And don't forget to leave us a little holiday present by writing us a review on Apple Podcasts. We'd really appreciate it. Games discussed include The Grinch, Never Alone, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Snowboard Kids 2. Show Notes: A bunch of thirsty images of The Grinch The Grinch has a kind-of adult secret that will definitely ruin Christmas, Clarisse Loughrey, The Independent

Nolan and Kenny get some sick air with Snowboard Kids.
Thema: 20 Jahre Nintendo 64 Erwähnte Spiele: Pilotwings 64, Saikyou Habu Shogi, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey, Turok, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, Fifa 64, Doom, Quake 1 & 2, Turok 1-3 + Rage Wars, Duke Nukem Zero Hour, Duke Nukem 3D, Hexen, Daikatana, Wrestling-Games, Tony Hawks Pro Skater-Reihe, Resident Evil 2, Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, Rayman 2, Glover, Tonic Trouble, Gex 64 - Enter the Gecko, Yoshis Story, Kirby 64, Mischief Makers, The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda - Majoras Mask, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Snowboard Kids, Mickys Racing USA, Mario Party-Reihe, Mario Golf 64, Mario Tennis 64, Bomberman 64 auch hörenswert: PT011 - Keeping in oldschool (NES-Retrospektive) PT026 - Play it Loud! (Game Boy-Retrospektive) PT029 - WiiU Intro: Castlemania 2010 (Benjamin Briggs) auf overclocked remix Bild: CC Frédéric Bisson, Nintendo 64

Feelin' hot hot hot. On the pod this week, Adam and Tony discuss the fallout from Kevin Pietersen's sacking. Adam is angry. How has it come to this? Can Alastair Cook survive the pressure he's brought on himself? And what does the future hold for KP? In addition, there's a trip around the world to discuss the big Test series going on in the southern hemisphere. The local derby between South Africa and Australia is underway, and New Zealand are one-nil up against India. Is this the best ever Kiwi side? And will India ever win away from home? Also this week: It's hotter than the Sun in the studio Yet more disappointment in the pub quiz Tony's been snowboarding, and come back with several new tattoos All this and more on the latest edition of the World Cricket Show - we're the original Snowboard Kids. This time I am joined by the almost too handsome Nic Goans. We talk Zelda, pissing your self, Earthbound, Resident Evil, and more. We review Shaq Fu for the Sega Genesis and Snowboard Kids for the N64.
