It was our first time at this iconic gathering of all fans across galaxies, but Star Wars Celebration has been around since the late 1990s. It's a testament to the multi-generational and organic nature of being a Star Wars fan, but also goes to show the commercial prowess of Disney (which acquired LucasFilm in 2012). This year's celebration in Japan was the largest in recent years and paid tribute to Japanese history and culture in many subtle ways. After an interminable wait the Poe Boys finally give the people what they want. That’s right. It’s the official announcement of Disney+’s R-Rated subsidiary DisneyX and its flagship Star Wars IP, Jedi Temple Challenge After Dark. What fiendish, depraved challenges do the boys have in store for an obstacle course show for grown ups? You’ll have to listen to more discussion about David Lynch than you should to find out! And! And! I didn’t even forget to put the episode out this week. And I’ve got plenty going on. Plenty. Puh... LENTY. Going on. It’s like, do one chore and two more will take its place, amiright? I mean, what is this chores, Hydra? Yeesh. Speaking of, I know I posted a poll on our Twitter about what book should I read and two out of three people (two people) said the Iliad but jokes on them (or you if you voted I guess) because I ain’t reading the Iliad. But I DID reread all of Ms. Marvel (Marvel, Hydra, keep up) and wow what a great series that is. What a treat. Man. That show has huge boots to fill. It’s still letting me keep typing. In fact I have over 2,900 characters left I can type. Like 1,000 characters ago I thought “oh I can max this box out no problem but now I’m looking down the barre of over 2,750 characters and I gotta tell you my resolve is FLOUNDERING. I mean, I got a lot going on. I gotta take out the recycling. I gotta eat dinner. I gotta edit the pod. No, wait, I did that one already. 2,500 characters. Yeesh. May the force be with me on this huh? What to talk about, what to talk about.... sports? No, no season finale of sports already happened. The weather? The weather! How’s the weather there? Rain here. They say snow but we’ll see about that. There all like “oh wow it’s going to snow” and I’m like “when” and they’re like “oh like 1AM or something” and I’m saying to them “oh, you mean WHEN I’M SLEEPING? Pretty convenient if you ask me. Pretty. Convenient. And then what? I wake up and there’s no snow and you know, YOU KNOW they’re gonna be like “oh it came and went you were a sleep baby.” Yeah right. Yeah freaking right. I’ve got a good feeling about this. After almost ten years in bed with Electronic Arts, the folks at Lucasfilm are looking for a new hope. For starters, they have changed their name; Lucasfilm games is the new mantle and it brings with it some lofty expectations. Secondly, and maybe more importantly, the Star Wars IP will be handled by more than just one publisher. We dig through all the details and see just how excited Rage is about this wild turn of events. Luckily for us, the newly minted Lucasfilm Games is not just set on concentrating on Star Wars. Yup, they are in their bag and are looking to everyone’s favorite archaeologist, Indiana Jones Jr. What’s to come for the character that inspired two massive franchises in Tomb Raider and the Uncharted series? With Machine Games at the helm, we know there will be plenty of Nazi slaying. But will it be an Xbox/PC exclusive? And finally, one of the biggest games of 2021 has been pushed to 2022.
