Plus, Meta revealed more of its AI plans at its big developer conference including another go at celebrity chatbots. But first, X, formerly Twitter, finally released a new transparency report. It’s the first one since 2022, when Elon Musk bought the platform. And it’s full of data on reported abuse, harassment, how many accounts were suspended and more. Microsoft has released its Responsible AI Transparency Report, which highlights the company's efforts in promoting responsible AI. The report showcases achievements such as developing 30 responsible AI tools, expanding the responsible AI team, and implementing risk assessment measures for generative AI applications. Notable additions include the Content Credentials feature, which adds a watermark to AI-generated images, indicating their origin. Microsoft has also provided Azure AI customers with tools to detect problematic content and offers security risk evaluation tools. However, Microsoft has faced controversies with its AI rollouts, including issues with the Bing AI chatbot and the creation of explicit deepfaked images. Microsoft acknowledges that responsible AI is an ongoing journey and will continue to prioritize its commitment to responsible AI. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message

In episode 126 of the Outdoor Minimalist podcast, we look at using recycled polyester as insulation. While polyester has its fair share of problems, we explore if there are ways that we can use it sustainably, like removing ocean-bound plastics from the environment and making them into something new. To break down the ins and outs of developing recycled insulation, I had the pleasure of hosting Joe DiGirolamo, the Director of Sales for North America for Thermore. Thermore manufacturers better quality thermal insulation with a reputation for performance and sustainability. Joe has been with the company for over 20 years, and he and his family are based in Western NY. He enjoys spending time outdoors and appreciates learning about and observing wildlife. 49. How to Build a Transparency Report for Your Business

In episode 49 of the Outdoor Minimalist podcast, we are building off last week's episode. Now, both are stand-alone episodes, but if you haven't already, I think you will likely get more out of this one if you listen to episode 48: can a company be 100% circular? So, in this episode, we are diving into the topic of sustainability transparency reports. These are essentially a yearly report card that a company puts out that overviews their environmental impact across a product's entire production and life cycle, from extraction to disposal. To help break this down a bit more, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jordi Beneyto-Ferre, the Senior Manager of Global Materials and Sustainability at Icebreaker, a VF company. Jordi has 13 years of experience in sportswear development and innovation within leading global brands (Puma, Adidas, icebreaker). Industrial engineer and industrial designer by trade. His vision is for the apparel industry to stop being part of the problem and become an active part of the solution. He envisions a world where petrochemical synthetics are no longer needed because there are much better natural and renewable alternatives that can deliver the same or better functionality. He wants a world where every garment can be traced back all the way to the place where the fiber was grown and to the people who were part of that journey. We learn what the TCAP is, why it was set up, and how it's used to automate the swift detection and removal of verified terrorist content on tech platforms.During the episode, Mariusz Żurawek explains how he struggled to single-handedly moderate extremist content on his platform JustPaste.it. We discuss how terrorist exploitation of the whole online ecosystem, especially smaller platforms like Mariusz', inspired the development of the TCAP.  We also chat to the TCAP team about the work they're doing to add more functionality to the platform and about some of the processes that are in place to ensure it's as transparent as possible to its stakeholders and the wider public. Join Anne Craanen as she speaks to Jacob Berntsson who's the Head of Policy & Research at Tech Against Terrorism, Sophie Laitt who's a Senior Product Manager at Tech Against Terrorism and Mariusz Żurawek, the founder of JustPaste.it - a website which uses the TCAP to help it take down potentially harmful terrorist content from its site. If you want to find out more about the TCAP, head over to the website at terrorismanalytics.org. By creating a community and a movement, the product is the story. A natural story that can be told by many in unique and different ways.
