In AD 325, over three hundred bishops gathered to answer a question that threatened to tear the church apart: Was Jesus Christ truly God, or merely the greatest of God's creatures? Their answer, refined at Constantinople in 381, became the Nicene Creed - the most universally confessed statement of Christian faith across all denominations. Pastor Tim Winterstein is the author of the new book “Worshiped and Glorified: A Study of the Nicene Creed,” available from Concordia Publishing House. The Rev. Tim Winterstein, pastor of University Lutheran Church in Bloomington, IN, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to discuss the Nicene Creed. To learn more about University Lutheran, visit indianalutheran.com. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. Families can worship together, read the Bible together, and pray together. A child has no control over what parents do, so do not stress that all families should do one thing or another. This session will help kids realize that worshiping and praying together are ways family members (or others) help them. Help kids realize that, if they are Christians, they can live in ways that worship God even if other family members do not—and that other family members can learn about God from them (the kids).
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities; against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:13). Job was a wealthy man. He was a good father. He loved the Lord. He taught his family to love the Lord. He was the epitome of godly success. Yet, he lost it all. He had no idea that there was a spiritual war going on, and he was the focus. He was a victim of Satan's rage. Yet, what did he do when he was viciously attacked? He worshiped!
Welcome to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. Our study in Revelation chapter 11 continues in verses 18-19 with our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell. In Rev. 11 verse 18, John speaking of the time when God rewards his servants, his prophets, his saints, and those who fear his name both small and great, Dr. Mitchell points out that God rewards faithfulness rather than greatness. Being faithful to the Lord and His Word brings reward. Also in verse 18, God destroys those who destroy the earth. Dr. Mitchell comments on how this may relate to the ecology of the earth. He makes mention of the Aswan dam in Egypt, completed in 1970.In verse 19, the temple of God is opened in the heaven and the ark of His covenant is seen in the temple. Just as God's Word is forever settled in heaven, so here too the ark of God's covenant is seen in heaven. Here is Dr. Mitchell, Rev.11:18-19
The church should praise and glorify God in its worship. God calls Christians to worship together corporately. This session will lead kids to think about corporate worship at your church.

Paul Wallis discusses the teachings of Jesus, emphasizing the discontinuity between Jesus' message and the laws of Yahweh. He highlights the significance of Aramaic phrases in Jesus' teachings and the absence of Yahweh's name in the gospels. Wallis argues that Jesus intended to free people from Yahweh's laws and introduces the concept of the "Eden Enigma," exploring ancient carvings in Turkey that suggest extraterrestrial intervention in human history. He also touches on the historical context of early Christianity, the role of Paul, and the possibility of Jesus' survival and travels, including to India and Japan. Paul Wallis discusses the importance of order, harmony, and love in the universe, emphasizing that love is a plural experience essential for community well-being, akin to sunlight for plants. He believes the ultimate purpose of life is to learn and practice love, as exemplified by his mother's eulogy. Wallis can be found on YouTube, his websites, and Amazon, where his book "The Eden Enigma" is available. He advises maintaining a positive emotional state amidst global uncertainties, suggesting intentionality in one's mindset each morning. Wallis encourages viewers to engage with his work and to be mindful of their emotional well-being.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.
What if people thought you were a god? In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas perform a miracle—and the crowd tries to worship them. It's tempting to enjoy the spotlight, but they tear their clothes and point to Jesus instead. This week's message is about pride, suffering, and the only path to the Kingdom of God: through many tribulations.

Foreign astrologers recognized a significant birth with the appearance of a star. Prophecy came into play again as Herod's advisors found the birthplace of the Savior in Scripture (Micah). The focus of this session is Herod's threat, the flight to Egypt, and God's protection of Jesus so He could grow and fulfill God's plan.

Hey Faith-Family! Welcome to the Beyond Sunday podcast at Calvary Bible Church – where we go beyond the Sunday sermon to explore some rabbit holes to bring Biblical truths to the surface. On this episode, we dive a little deeper into Matthew 14:22-33. If you would like to submit any questions or topics for us to consider for future episodes, please send them to podcast@cbcmj.com
Welcome to the 2nd sermon in our series on the books of 1 & 2 Samuel. In the books of 1&2 Samuel, God grants his people a king, but it doesn't go the way they think it will go. Power is something every person craves, but does it ever deliver what we hope it will deliver? In God's story, power is a crucible that enables, lifts up, reveals and exposes. It is God's to grant and ours to either steward or worship…one leads to life, the other to destruction. Join us through the books of 1&2 Samuel as we look at the stories of prophets, kings and peasants being shaped and formed by God's crucible of power.
Josh preaches in our Matthew series.
