Rich and Nicole have the case of the Mondays on a Thursday. Someone get these adult kids a drink! Oscar De La Hoya's latest banana hammock look reminded Rich of De La Hoya's fishnet look that he wore for a Halloween party years ago. This was the same Halloween party he and Nicole made-out with the same person. Nicole coined the term Manties: panties for men—but on a more serious note, Nicole's whole household is sick, and ZICAM is saving the day! Please sponsor us! IT'S THE ICEMAN! And he's back like he never left and caught an illness that could potentially infect anyone and everyone around him. Nope, the Chairman slathered himself with enough Zicam swabs to make his way back to the program (remotely mind you), and he wasted no time reminding his cohorts about the all of the awful takes they were missing in his absence. There was the usual over analysis of everything Apple, followed by a prolonged breakdown of an explosive week of news in the Spiderverse. Eventually, the nerdom veered into the latest happenings in Mando country but SOMEONE just couldn't stop fixating on a certain 60 year old bounty hunter's aging physique. Honestly, it might not be who you think is... except it's exactly who you think it is. Listen for confirmation.[ The post Ep 116 – Dad Bod Boba Fett appeared first on Badslant Podcast.

What happens when you go on vacation while doing Intermittent Fasting? Well, Emily found out on her big family vacation! In fact, it’s a whirlwind of a story, which includes Emily’s actual ideal vacation of driving for hours in nature, calling on her “boot and rally” days from college to get her through taking too many vitamins on an empty stomach, and Couch Jeans from the Universe. Wow. Are these show notes or the back of a family comedy from the ‘80s VHS? Meanwhile, while Emily was away, John spent time with his girlfriend and then ran amok the rest of the time. But it wasn’t an all-at-once thing. It happened gradually. But now, since he’s had to be accountable on the show, he has decided to create a 5-step plan for himself and can hopefully find some local groups to help out. (Suggestions welcome!) New to Hate to Weight? Make sure you’re subscribed so you’ll never miss an episode and so you can listen to all the back episodes! Don’t forget, you can talk to us and other Weighters while we record by going to the Hate to Weight Discussion Group on Facebook. We record every Thursday at 11 a.m.! Call in your WINS or RANTS anytime! 760-WINNING -— 760-946-6464 In This Episode: Emily is back from a family vacation and, boy, was it interesting! Disneyland, Universal, California and back and feeling like it was straight out of National Lampoon. (OK, no dead relatives on the car.) Best way to rid yourself of Mom Guilt? Being *those* parents on a plane with a screaming child. Emily and her husband were those parents. Eek! But Diet Guilt? Apparently, that’s a thing, as Emily finds out. But because of sickness going through everyone else, she decided to take Zicam outside of her eating window. Because being healthy on a family vacation is probably the best reason to break a fast. SPOILER ALERT: Turns out, it didn’t deter her weight loss at all! :) Are you a Disney food person? Emily loved the food there! “You’re a mom! Come on! College has trained us for this. Boot & Rally!” — When you tell yourself you don’t have the flu, you just took too many vitamins. Even writing these show notes, our sleep schedules are still wonky! Humans are so weird! Seriously! Another exception to Emily’s eating window. Good hibachi. But not California pizza. Sorry, California. Emily loves her shoes she wore to Disneyland. In case you’re curious, they’re Sketchers with Memory Foam. Would you wear “Couch Jeans”? Seriously. But the Couch Jeans from the Universe did provide a wonderful belt for the jeans Emily brought and found out were too big. Emily also had the win of getting down to her wedding weight! But her dress fit completely differently. Please do not send in your theories “You’re gonna wash that story right out of those jeans.” — John After John’s girlfriend left, he was on a muck and continued. More unhealthy choices fell into the cart, bigger portions were being made, and John knew he was in trouble. John heard a podcast from a YouTuber Bridget Phetasy John’s 5-Step Plan: Get back to Intermittent Fasting Get a good breakfast. Slowly start reducing any sugar and carbs. There has to be more exercise. Be more proactive and accountable. John also noticed that he’s been bullying himself when he got on the scale. But we know if we have one bad week, it’s just a week. It’s not our entire life. John also talks about an article (linked below) about Food Addiction and he’s looking for support in his area. “There’s so much shame in being a food addict, that people don’t go. We suffer in silence.” — John John was doing well, but then started gambling and “had outs” — if you know poker, you’ll love John’s analogy! We’re learning how to make these health changes to work for our lifestyle. But let’s get positive! The #WinningWednesday posts get us back into our silly mood. Don't let the number 27 fool you. This is not an episode. This is an episode about not having an episode. We're all too sick with a cold, the flu and walking pneumonia to put together a full episode. Kevin called in sick. Alex doesn't want to be around sick people. Hank was tough enough and dedicated enough to head into the studio and record this amazing non episode. We'll be back next week with the real deal. In the meantime, please enjoy listening to Hank's cold.
This week Joelle joins Brandi to host the podcast! She wants to know what Brandi's least favorite and most favorite things about design are. Joelle’s week: For those that don't know, Joelle works at a cactus and succulent nursery that is local to the New Mexico area. This is her favorite time of year because all of the cacti are blooming and you get to see the different flowers that each of the cactuses have. You can see those flowers on her Instagram via @mrsjoelle_kaniff. She also joined a family Father's Day camping trip which she hadn't been camping in at least 10 years. And lastly, she got bangs which surprising she is loving. At 18 she thought she'd never do it again, but apparently not. Brandi’s week: Talking about the camping trip we learn that smores are Brandi's downfall and sadly we didn't have any on our camping trip which is a bummer, but maybe a good thing since Brandi did end up getting a cold on the trip. Over the camping trip, Brandi read one of her Veronica Mars books which was really exciting. She loved it. Brandi is a Marshmallow (a huge fan of Veronica Mars) for those who don't know. She is very excited about the new seasons of Veronica Mars coming to Hulu at the end of July. Brandi has also been hard at work with her website update and she has made some great progress on that. And lastly Brandi has been watching World of Dance with her family and she's actually really been loving it. She really loved one specific routine that used color to change and reflect the emotion. Takeaways from this episode: Sometimes, you can get caught up in one part of the design because it may not match completely with what you have in your brain. There are so many different things you can do for hierarchy in the design. "Z" "N" "W". Don't get stuck on one just because it's easy. It's okay to want to do things differently. It’s easy to get caught up in one step of the process. Be careful and set time limits. Sometimes you just need to have some empathy. Clients are going to do things that won’t make sense to you when you “pass off your baby” (give them the final design). It’s okay, things happen. Sometimes people are stupid but you don’t need to say it out loud. Assume positive intent. Some clients just may not understand. Try and have some helpful advice for them. I hate being sick Brandi Sea: 00:02 Not sponsored. Yeah. Joelle: 00:03 If they wanna sponsor us Brandi Sea: 00:05 No, I don't want to be sponsored by Zicam. What does that say about me? Joelle: 00:08 It's true, a design podcast sponsored by Zicam. Brandi Sea: 00:08 That'd be weird. If this was like a health podcast. That would make more sense. Joelle: 00:13 Oh gosh, so funny
Rob goes in on his second French Press of Columbian Coffee. Rob discusses the joy of quitting your job, Bill Hicks, San Francisco, Zicam, Zen-ing it out and Gary Write's song "Love Is Alive".
Sorry for the delayed episode this week! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you may have seen that I went to DC Podfest. And the first day I was there, I woke up with the beginnings of a cold. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of a bottle of Zicam fairly quickly and stave off the cold for a few days … until I got home. And then, it hit. This week has been a bit of a fever dream for me, but it made me start to wonder about some of the things we say when we're sick and the origins, so get ready for a bit of an etymology episode. But as long as there have been humans, humans have been getting sick, and many of these idioms carry a lot of unverifiable history with them. And, much like the cure for the common cold, the true origin stories of these phrases may never be found. You're listening to The Story Behind: The Extraordinary History of the Ordinary. “60 is the new 20” may be the new motto if Ron Waddy & Dr. Charles Hensley have a say in it with their upcoming product release of “Celluvate,” an all natural powder that works on Telomeres, Mitochondria (the “battery pack” of your cels), Testosterone receptors and more. To date testers ranging from bodybuilders and Olympic track coaches to high-powered executives have reported increased muscle mass and strength, quicker recovery, overall energy, and feedback is starting to come in from people whose diabetic numbers are going down—enough for some to not need their medication! Oh, and apparently it works wonders for the libido as well, you know, in case you have “a friend” who might be interested in that type of thing : ) That’s a lot to grasp, but perhaps the best testimony is one half of our dynamic duo—Ron Waddy is a 68-yr old Powerlifter who can still deadlift over 500lbs, and in person you could never guess his age. The other half is none other than Dr. Charles Hensley himself—the inventor and producer of the pre-cold medicine ZICAM which you have probably heard of if not used, not to mention numerous other product patents under his belt. This transformational product will be on the market soon but if you’re interested in fitness & health, listen in now to learn not only how these two met and created this product, what the product can do for you, and importantly what motivates them to become better versions of themselves. To become…Manceptional! Website for the upcoming product is below for future reference. Keep checking back to pre-order. *For transparency I’m NOT an affiliate, I don’t make any money on this. www.celluvate.com Enjoy! Ken If you enjoyed this and other episodes would appreciate you telling your friends and leaving an iTunes Review. I’d also love feedback and suggestions on topics and guests who would be good for the podcast. Appreciate your help, thanks!

Lead with Love: Creativity, Business & Life with Jadah Sellner
In episode 122 of Lead with Love, I’m challenging myself to do something I always tell my community to do. Take Imperfect Action I had a summer flu that kicked my butt to the moon and back. Being out of commission for 2 weeks threw the little momentum I’d gained right out the window. Instead of hustling in high gear, I was hibernating with Zicam, antibiotics and fluids. I felt so guilty, and before I knew it, I found myself in that spiral of badgering myself, overthinking and questioning everything. Isn’t it crazy how a small set back can make you question everything that you’re doing? So to get out of my head and back into motion, I’m going to take my own advice. What you'll hear (and don't want to miss!) What to do when life throws you a curveball and you get off track What can happen when we only present the “polished” version of ourselves to the world How to truly express ourselves and serve in a bigger way An example of the way one of my clients recently took imperfect action and a special challenge I have for each of you You can find full show notes over at https://jadahsellner.com/taking-imperfect-action-jadah-sellner-122

"My goal was to open an office where we could offer every service available dentally that would be convenient and affordable for everybody to come in." In episode 67 we continue our conversation with Dr. Dennis Frazee. He's a relatively new grad. Like 2012 new grad. His startup is growing like crazy and he tells us about his keys to his success. First, he tells us a bit about how he chose his location and how important that ended up being. Secondly, he sings the praises of being able to sedate patients in his office safely and reliably. Last, he tells us where he focused his time and money (and how he financed it) on CE. This interview is packed with so many pearls you might as well make a necklace out of it! In the Brain Trust we continue discussing our experiences with customer service failures and how we can apply these lessons in our own business. A couple high points: There needs to be a specialist that helps arrange financing and best deals on equipment purchasing. If someone would do that and help save dentists money and headaches, they will make themselves VERY valuable. Are all website design companies shady? Why is there so much turnover in the dental sales industry? Be sure to check out this video from listener Dr. Nicholas Miller! He took us up on our Youtube video challenge from a couple weeks back and we think you should check out his video! You can see his whole channel here! In our "Go Hack Yourself" segment we feature: Zicam: Jason has the plague and Zicam helped him get through the weekend at CEREC30 99% Invisible: "A tiny radio show about design with Roman Mars." We go through the marketing ringer as Hasbro forces us to fight for the right to use the iron in Monopoly, Axe Body Spray sends us into space smelling really good, and Zicam makes us do battle with a boogery beast.
Recently, Zicam products have come under fire after people who used the popular over the counter nasal spray were losing their sense of smell. Ringler Radio host Larry Cohen welcomes Attorney Fred Thompson III from Motley Rice to take a look at the effects of Zicam, the FDA's warning, consumer protection issues and Zicam litigation.
Tonight's show is about a stock I first posted in 2003, Matrixx Initiatives (MTXX). This stock shows strong underlying fundamentals and was recently plugged by Jim Cramer on "Mad Money".
