Der Täter lockte seine Opfer gezielt in eine McDonald's-Filiale – und hinterließ ein ganzes Land im Schockzustand. Doch wie verkraftet man das Unfassbare? Prof. Florian Holsboer, damals Direktor des Max-Planck-Instituts für Psychiatrie, war mit seinem Team unmittelbar nach der Tat im Einsatz, um den Opfern und Angehörigen beizustehen. In dieser Folge spricht er gemeinsam mit Host Béla Anda über die tiefen seelischen Wunden solcher Anschläge und analysiert die Psyche des Täters: War Sonboly wirklich ein klassischer Amokläufer – oder ein Mörder mit Plan Die Themen dieser Folge: • Erste Hilfe für die Psyche: Wie Krisenintervention direkt vor Ort funktioniert. • Täterprofil: Die paranoid-narzisstische Persönlichkeit und was Amokläufer antreibt. • Das Motiv: War das Attentat rassistisch motiviert? • Die Folgen: Wie sich eine Posttraumatische Belastungsstörung (PTBS) bei Zivilisten und Soldaten zeigt.   Diese Folge entstand in Kooperation mit der Björn Steiger Stiftung, die sich deutschlandweit für bessere Notfallhilfe und einen modernen Rettungsdienst einsetzt.

In Deutschland vergeht zurzeit keine Woche, ohne dass mindestens eine Schule bedroht wird.

Amok heißt Exzess und Überbietung. Jeder einzelne Amoklauf steht immer in einer Reihe von Taten, übernimmt Formen und Bildsprache der Vorgänger und versucht zugleich, noch eins draufzusetzen. Unser Verstand versagt, wenn wir nach eindeutigen Motiven suchen oder das Geschehen nachvollziehbar erklären wollen. Amok heißt auch: Es kann überall passieren. Das Feature geht der Frage nach, was Amok über unsere Gesellschaft sagt, was die Medien und der Neoliberalismus damit zu tun haben und ob es überhaupt noch sinnvoll ist, zwischen Amok und Terror zu unterscheiden.
