Rodolfo Caro, formerly Bhajanjeet Singh became a Kundalini Yoga instructor in 2004 and integrated his home, family and spa business into the lifestyle brand of promoting KY and Sikh Dharma over the next 18 years in Guadalajara Mexico. He was even a Board Member of the International KundaliniYogaTeacher Association of Mexico until 2018  when he began to disconnect from his local Sangat community because of incongruence. In 2020 when the book Premka came out he began to confront the dark side of KY globally.  After being a part of the Beyond the Cage FB group, reading the AOB report, listening to the UCpodcast, and all the material that became available since 2020, Rodolfo began deprogramming and figuring out his own practice, totally removing himself from KY Cult. He's a bodyworker and massage therapist and Spa owner of Canto Yoga & Spa in Guadalajara México. Uncomfortable Conversations Podcast The Untold Stories of the 3HO Kundalini Yoga Community

Rodolfo Caro (formerly Bhajanjeet Singh) became a KY instructor in 2004 and integrated his home, family and spa business into the lifestyle brand of promoting KY and Sikh Dharma over the next 18 years in Guadalajara Mexico. He was even a IKYTA Mexico board member until 2018  when he began to disconnect from his local sangat community because of incongruency. In 2020 when the book Premka came out he began to confront the dark side of KY for real.  After the Beyond the Cage FB group, reading the AOB report, listening to the UCpodcast, and all the material that became available, Rodolfo began deprogramming and figuring out his own practice, totally removing himself from KY Cult. He's a Bodyworker and massage therapist and Spa owner of Canto Yoga & Spa in Guadalajara México. He's a content creator for health and mind and has collaborated in 2024 as a book translator for "Under the Yoga Mat" spanish versión for Latin America. He's the Co-Creator of the youtube channel for the continuity of conversations in spanish, for uncomfortable conversations podcast. Ivan Sanchez (Siri Om Singh) was in the KY Cult from 2006-2021. He was a kundalini instructor for 11 years, taking his first teacher Training by 2009. His mentors were Tarn Taran Kaur (USA), Shiv Charan Singh (PORTUGAL) and Gurujodha Singh (Mexico) at RaMa Kundalini Yoga school in Mexico City. As an instructor he achieved level II certification in his training as a Kundalini Yoga teacher. He was a member of ATA (Aquarian Teachers Academy) training as a leading trainer to teach courses and training for future teachers. In 2020 he discovered the book White Bird in a Golden Cage by Premka and also came across the book Trust All For Nothing, my time saving Yogi Bhajan by Wahe Guru Kaur and seeing himself reflected in many of the statements of physical and psychological abuse that he finds in these documents, he decides to investigate and realizes that there are thousands of people around the world raising their voices and talking about abuse within the so-called Kundalini Yoga community led by 3HO and KRI.Not finding support or coherence in many colleagues, students and teachers in Mexico at that time, he makes the decision to renounce his titles, his classes, his lifestyle and the community. From that moment on, he uses social networks to make complaints and support people who are realizing the manipulation that exists in the "white sect" as he usually calls it. Ivan has been attacked by people who consider that he is harming the community and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, however that does not stop him from continuing to raise his voice and helping more and more people to realize the deceptions and manipulation into which they can fall by the misnamed Kundalini Yoga community.Currently, after a process of therapy and with the help of his partner and great friends, he's managed to heal many emotional wounds. He decided to continue raising his voice, because after 4 years, the current Kundalini Yoga teachers continue to give classes and hold teacher training sessions as if nothing had happened, and that seems extremely dangerous to me for people who are looking for something to feel better about themselves. For this reason, he has partnered w/ Els Coenen and Rodolfo to share information in Spanish in Mexico and Latin America since a lot of guidance is needed due to the language difference with regions such as the United States or Europe.UC Podcast Episode 48: Siri Om Singh; Mexico City, Mexico (Started KY 2006 - 2021)Book link to Under the Yoga Mat: The Dark History of Yogi Bhajan's Kundalini Yoga Abuse in Kundalini Yoga Website GuruNischan is a writer, pleasure activist, and consultant in personal reinvention for unorthodox high achievers. Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616) wrote Don Quixote, an early 17th century fictional character made famous by the Spanish author. This epic novel went on to be read around the world in Spanish and most other languages, making its author one of the most-read writers in human history. The story's influence on North American literature is immeasurable. Such admiration is displayed by a life-sized statue of Don Quixote de la Mancha and his faithful sidekick Sancho Panza that sits at the bottom of a rock cliff in Guadalajara, Mexico. How to Make $250K Indie Film Look Like $25 Million Blockbuster with Gaelan ConnellEvery once in a while I come across a filmmaker who is just a bit crazier than I am. This is true for writer/director Gaelan Connell who's film Blood Sand and Gold is a true indie film miracle. This mad man decided to raise $250,000 (much of which was out of pocket) and go off and make a big budget action film, just one problem he didn't have a big budget.Yes, I know $250K is a lot of money but it's not enough for what Gaelan was attempting to do. Check this out, Blood Sand and Gold was shot over the course of 58 days across 5 countries and 4 continents! It has Jason Bourne/James Bond style action. I mean it's nuts. Check out the trailer below:I had to have him on the show to reveal his secret sauce on how he was able to accomplish this crazy mission. Not only did he jump on the podcast and drops some MAJOR knowledge bombs, he also wrote up an article laying out his top 5 filmmaking tips. Take a listen to the podcast then read Gaelan's article. Enjoy and get ready to be inspired!Right click here to download the MP3Download on iTunes DirectWatch on IFH YouTube ChannelHere's a behind the scenes look at the indie marvel Blood Sand and Gold.Blood Sand and Gold is a modern day treasure hunt action adventure film. Shot over the course of 58 days across 5 countries (and 4 continents!), the story follows ex-criminal Jack Riordan (Aaron Costa Ganis) and Mave Adams (Monica West) as they hunt down Sir Francis Drake's stolen treasure. So far, everything feels pretty standard, right? Action movie, check. International settings, check. Explosions, desert landscapes, helicopters, and a tiger…check. But wait: We made this whole movie with a budget of less than $250k.Why? We intentionally made Blood Sand and Gold outside of the Hollywood system to prove, firstly, that it can be done, and secondly, that nowadays there's a way to stretch budgets further than indie films ever thought possible. In addition to the (comparatively) minuscule budget, we gave ourselves a challenge: no agents, no managers, no money people, no casting directors. And wouldn't you know it, every insider we approached in Hollywood said,“Sounds cool! Never going to happen.”Blood Sand and Gold premieres March 10, 2017 in select theaters, online and ondemand.  As we discuss in the Podcast, here are some tricks on how we made it happen.Trick 1: Film outside the country. We intentionally shot Blood Sand and Gold in countries outside of the US. Shooting outside of the US is a magical experience. Unlike LA or NY, where seeing a production is as commonplace as grabbing coffee at Starbucks, people in areas where filming is more novel, approach filmmaking as a once in a lifetime experience, which means everyone is willing to pitch in and lend a hand. For example, starting production in Guadalajara Mexico allowed us to garner some early media attention by leading Mexican press, the awesome film commission of Guadalajara helped supply us resources for free (locations, police for action scenes, etc) which allowed us to do huge stunts on a fraction of the budget. It also led to more grassroots cooperation to help with production. People all over the world came out of the woodwork to support our project, whether it was the 200k Mercedes SLS that a friend of a friend in Mexico let us use, or the epic treasure chest prop that a villager in Merzouga, Morocco lent us for the opening sequence of the film.

How Brian's artistic path has unfolded, from his own childhood studies to today's pedagogical pursuits (3:13) Teaching the language of music (11:50) Practicing concentration, and the importance of shifting your focus to refocusing for optimizing your practice (13:00) The legacy of Dorothy DeLay: how she empowered her students (including Brian) through positivity, removing judgement from her instruction, encouraging questions, and presenting the possibilities of playing to help young musicians sort out their own paths (15:01) Leading teaching with love, and the lasting, negative impacts of “abusive teaching” (25:13) Practicing habits (formed by DeLay and Suzuki) that helped set his playing apart, focusing on simplicity, the importance of listening, and repeating your own study of a score (30:01) Brian's advice for collegiate musicians to use your time in conservatory to prepare for a life as a professional musician (35:09) The lineage of musicianship and importance of flexibility (42:15) Brian's answers to a series of rapid-fire questions, including consistent practicing, his most memorable performances, favorite practice room tools, and book recommendation! (44:10)   MORE ON BRIAN LEWIS: One of the most versatile violinists on the current scene, Brian Lewis is an exceptionally gifted and charismatic artist. "There are a lot of fine violinists on the concert stage today, but few can match Lewis for an honest virtuosity that supremely serves the music,” reports the Topeka Capital-Journal. Much sought after as a performer and teacher, Mr. Lewis concertizes and teaches around the globe, and is dedicated to growing the legacy of Shin'ichi Suzuki and Dorothy DeLay. Acclaimed performances include concerto debuts in both New York's Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, as well as performances with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, the Berlin (Germany), Louisiana, Kansas City, Hartford, Syracuse, Odense (Denmark), Lima (Peru), Boulder, Guadalajara (Mexico), Sinfonia Toronto (Canada), ROCO and American Symphony orchestras, among many others.   He has released six CDs, including as soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra of music by Leonard Bernstein and Hollywood composer Michael McLean for the Delos Label. Mr. Lewis began his violin studies at the age of four, participating in the Ottawa Suzuki Strings program, and traveling to Japan twice to study with Dr. Suzuki. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from The Juilliard School, studying with the renowned pedagogue, Dorothy DeLay. Mr. Lewis holds the David and Mary Winton Green Chair in String Performance and Pedagogy at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he is Artistic Director of the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School in New York City, Artistic Director and Faculty and the Brian Lewis Young Artists Program held most recently in Fairbanks, AK. He has also recently held positions as the Class of '57 Visiting Professor of Music at Yale University and Visiting Professor at the Cleveland Institute of Music. More information about Mr. Lewis can be found at www.brianlewisviolin.com.   PRACTICING FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE: I'm excited to tell you that Practicing for Peak Performance is now available for download! The inebriation can often be surprisingly clean and the opposite to what many may expect and been sold in the past. So get your notebooks ready for an insight into some of the best agave bars and scenes from around the globe and usually with tequila there is always some tales to tell! City Bible Church: Weekly Sermons

Alberto was first called to ministry during his last year in college, when the Lord providentially used John Piper's biographical sermon on the life of Adoniram Judson to stir in him a passion for evangelism and pastoral ministry. After graduation, he moved to Guadalajara (Mexico), where he began teaching in several Bible studies and weekly youth gatherings. God used this time to show him the need for sound doctrine and biblical preaching that exists in both Guadalajara and Mexico in general.God's calling in Alberto's life drove him to search for a place that would equip him for pastoral ministry. By God's grace, he was able to attend The Master's Seminary in order to pursue the degrees of Master's in Dvinity (MDiv) and Master's in Theology (ThM). It was in Los Angeles, while attending seminary, that Alberto met Kathy. On July 23, 2017 Alberto was ordained to ministry by Grace Community Church's elders. That same day they were sent out as GMI missionaries to Guadalajara, the second largest city in Mexico. They joined a group of people that had been already gathering for a couple of years. Together, in God's providence, they planted Iglesia Comunidad Bíblica church. With over five (5) million people, the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area is one of the largest urban centers in North America and the 10th largest city in Latin America. The size of the city alone makes it a unique and strategic place for the advancement of the Gospel. Also, with only 2% of the population being protestant, Christian churches in Guadalajara are still somewhat uncommon and mostly unknown. Please pray for the Lord to bring about revival. You can learn more about the Solano's ministry at https://familiasolano.wordpress.com

Ep 26 Mak Gutierrez, Supporting Makers and Startups In Guadalajara

Most people in Silicon Valley would not intuitively think of building startups in Guadalajara, Mexico. But Mak Gutierrez is part of a team working through Hackers and Founders to support and fund startups in one of the most historic cities in Latin America. In this conversation, Mak and I talk about his background, how Science Fiction has influenced his thinking about the future and the role of tech in the world, and why Guadalajara is one of the best places in Latin America to start a company. The first time playing multiplayer games over dial-up was an eye-opening moment for Mak Gutierrez. It’s always fascinating to hear the turning points that start an entrepreneur or tech startup founder in the direction they go. Mak Gutierrez says that he was always interested in the possibilities that could come from computers and technology, but when he played his first game of “Doom” in a multi-player environment via dial-up, his eyes were opened to what technology might be able to do in the future. We’ve come a very long way from dial-up and Mak says it’s only the beginning. You can hear what he’s doing as part of the Hackers and Founders team to support and encourage the development of companies in Guadalajara, Mexico and how he’s come to believe that smaller tech companies in developing countries will one day be the backbone of their economies. I think Latin Americans have largely been followers rather than leaders. ~ Mak Gutierrez During our conversation about Science Fiction and the role it’s played in Mak’s vision of technology and the future, Mak said that he thinks there hasn’t been much Science Fiction to come out of Latin America because the culture has not been focused on producing leaders, people who see a bigger vision of the future than normal. He’s hoping to change that as he works with Hackers and Founders to not only inspire and encourage innovation and startups in Guadalajara but to cast a wider vision for what could come of Latin American innovation in the global marketplace. You’ll enjoy hearing Mak’s enthusiasm so I hope you will listen. Why value is not created by polishing, it’s created by producing. Mak Gutierrez says one of the most valuable lessons he’s learned in building his own companies and in supporting startups in Guadalajara Mexico is that value is not created for the end-user of any product or service by the business waiting to release until things are perfectly polished. Nobody will be helped until you actually produce something - and whatever it is, it doesn’t have to be perfect. You can hear how Mak suggests startup founders think about the development and release of their products and services, on this episode of Crossing Borders. Few Latin American startups fail because they lack capital. In any country, including those in Latin America, there is nothing more important for a startup than to find a need and meet it. And those needs typically come from the local environment and the needs it contains. In Latin America in particular, those needs tend to be fundamentally beneficial to the culture at large and therefore have a transformative impact. Mak Gutierrez says when he’s helped startups in Guadalajara understand that mindset, they are able to get the funding they need without a problem - because it’s obvious that the company is seeking to meet a need that is in great demand. That’s a winning situation for the startup and for its investors. Mak’s story and insights are so helpful… I hope you take time to listen. Outline of This Episode [1:18] Mak’s work in Guadalajara, building the Hackers and Founders team and program. [6:59] How Mak became interested in tech and began learning. Shot over the course of 58 days across 5 countries (and 4 continents!), the story follows ex-criminal Jack Riordan (Aaron Costa Ganis) and Mave Adams (Monica West) as they hunt down Sir Francis Drake’s stolen treasure. So far, everything feels pretty standard, right? Action movie, check. International settings, check. Explosions, desert landscapes, helicopters, and a tiger…check. But wait: We made this whole movie with a budget of less than $250k.Why? We intentionally made Blood Sand and Gold outside of the Hollywood system to prove, firstly, that it can be done, and secondly, that nowadays there’s a way to stretch budgets further than indie films ever thought possible. In addition to the (comparatively) minuscule budget, we gave ourselves a challenge: no agents, no managers, no money people, no casting directors. And wouldn’t you know it, every insider we approached in Hollywood said,“Sounds cool! People all over the world came out of the woodwork to support our project, whether it was the 200k Mercedes SLS that a friend of a friend in Mexico let us use, or the epic treasure chest prop that a villager in Merzouga, Morocco lent us for the opening sequence of the film.Cinematographer C

Official Website:  http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode I interview Pere Margalef, who is the CEO of The Bike Shield App. It is an app created to help protect bikers, motorcyclists, & bicyclists from common collisions & to make other motorists aware of these modes of transportation around them. Pere is a mechanical engineer full time and this is a passion project for him on the side as you will learn in this interview. The Bike Shield App is available for IOS and Android and is free. More can be found at their official website: www.thebikeshieldapp.com We spoke heavily of the Bike Shield App on Law Abiding Biker Podcast Episode #76, so take a listen. After that episode aired, Pere got ahold of us and wanted to do an interview. You must listen into this interview as it is jam packed with useful information that has never been heard before. It is a complete behind the scenes  look at The Bike Shield App, the team, and it's future. The way the app works is that a driver of a car and a rider on a motorcycle both have to have the app installed and running. The driver of a car is then alerted when within a certain distance of  a motorcycle or bicycle, warning them to be on the lookout. Remember, drivers of cars have blind spots and may not see a motorcycle, so the alert would be very helpful. The app has other functionalities such as an users map, which lets you visualize other users around you to establish safe routes. I learned Pere is a biker and currently rides a motorcycle and resides in the Los Angeles, CA area. He moved to Los Angeles about ten years ago from Barcelona, Spain. He came up with the idea for the app when he had a close call while riding his motorcycle in traffic. He has invested much money and time into developing this app to make us all safer and now has a small team working with him to further develop it. Our Custom Biker Gripper Cell Phone & GPS Mounts Need a motorcycle cell phone or GPS mounting solution Bikaholics? That's right, Law Abiding Biker Media put our logo on these mounts & we personally use them on our motorcycles! The sexiest, lightest, and strongest mounts available period. Good prices and fast shipping from our store? Check out our COMPLETE REVIEW Pere got the app out and into circulation as a minimum viable product. That is when the real testing started and they are learning what works and what doesn't. They are planning on releasing new versions as the app is worked on behind the scenes. They are working on new algorithms for things such as how often the alert sounds when multiple bikers are in a small area. There is some super exciting stuff in the works and Pere reveals it all in this interview. They have developed the APIs to open their Bike-to-Vehicle (B2V) communication channels to other road apps. That includes apps for bicyclists, bikers and car drivers and that is the direction and future of the app. Working with car manufacturers to have it built in standard to on board infotainment and navigation systems will be crucial. We spoke about the Harley Davidson Boom Box Infotainment system that is standard on touring models now and what a great fit that would be. Don't forget to check out our #1 rated Boom!™ Box Infotainment System Tutorial Videos! There are some great developments with the app such as the recently launched program MiBici from Guadalajara (Mexico), which is the World's first program to incorporate the BikeShield in its own app, becoming the first World’s bike share program with a B2V system. It is expected that by the end of the year, the program will have 20,000 users. They are also in conversations with Mexico City, Barcelona and Santiago de Chile. They want to do the same in your city. What is The Bike Shield App: (directly from their website) All good things take time and we certainly support the continued development of this platform. It could definitely be great for bikers if wide acceptance and use happens. We know it is the early stages and we will follow along. Having observed many injury and fatality motorcycle collisions I fully support the Bike Shield App. Pere says the best thing that bikers can do is telling your family and friends about the app. And to give them feedback, suggestions and critiques of the app as it moves forward in development and implementation. You can do so on their contact form directly on their website: www.thebikeshieldapp.com The Bike Shield App Social Media: Facebook Instagram New Patrons: Kris Lizak of Ashland, WI   If you appreciate the content we put out and want to make sure it keeps on coming your way then become a Patron too!
