In this episode The Wild Sensitive, Unlocking the Power of The Highly Sensitive High Sensation Seeker I'm so excited to be talking with the inspiring Randy Grasser and Annet van Duinen. With a rare combination of emotional depth and daring spirit, they are redefining what it means to be both Highly Sensitive (HSP) and High Sensation Seeking (HSS). Their lives are a living testament to this vibrant duality, walking the edge between stillness and adventure, introspection and bold exploration.Their mission is rooted in personal experience. Randy's path has spanned over 50 countries and countless extremes, from surviving an avalanche and navigating wilderness trials to working in harsh industrial environments and creating a life-changing 26-day behavioral program for court-appointed teens. Each chapter of his journey uncovered a deeper truth: his sensitivity wasn't a weakness, it was his greatest strength.Annet brings over a decade of coaching experience as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), guiding individuals and organizations toward understanding, embracing, and leveraging sensitivity in powerful ways. A true explorer at heart, she combines emotional depth with bold curiosity, helping others find freedom and confidence in who they are, both in personal growth and professional leadership. Together, they are dedicated to educating and empowering others through every medium they can reach, be it their books, immersive retreats, online webinars and workshops, and meaningful conversations on social media. Their teachings offer a fresh, compassionate, and powerfully honest perspective, one that validates sensitivity as a strength while also honoring the craving for novelty, challenge, and growth that many HSPs feel but rarely understand.Linkswildsensitive.comhttps://www.facebook.com/thelivingadventurershttps://www.linkedin.com/company/thelivingadventurersTracy Cooper's High Sensation Seeking Course: https://www.highlysensitivehumanacademy.com/the-sensation-seeking-highly-sensitive-person-professional-courseSupport the showAbout the Host: Jules De Vitto is a transpersonal coach, trainer and experienced educator. In today's episode, I speak to William Allen about Highly Sensitive Men and his new course, On Being a Highly Sensitive Man. William Allen is the author of Confessions of a Sensitive Man and On Being a Sensitive Man. He leads the course with insights drawn from his extensive work as an advocate for HSP men. He is a certified hypnotist and brain training coach, author and advocate for HSP Men. He believes that male sensitivity is not so rare, but it can be confounding for most males living in a culture of masculine insensitivity which teaches boys and men to disconnect from their feelings and emotions. As a highly sensitive individual himself, William combines personal experience, professional expertise, and engaging storytelling to create a transformative learning experience. Her client-centred approach incorporates transpersonal psychology, mind-body repatterning, and ancient principles to facilitate profound transformation through personal integration journeys. She empowers individuals to break old patterns of behaviour, cultivate emotional regulation, and reconnect more deeply with their authentic selves. In the episode, we discuss the importance of integration as a process for creating long-lasting transformation rather than temporary 'peak experiences'. We talk about the specific needs of HSP and how, as Highly Sensitive People, we might navigate the psycho-spiritual journey, particularly in the context of plant medicine experiences. I'm excited to share S2, E11 of the Highly Sensitive Human Podcast. In this episode, I speak about a topic that is very close to my heart and something I feel very passionate about when it comes to being a Highly Sensitive Person, 'Grief Tending, Shadow & Soul Work for Highly Sensitive People for Holistic Transformation'.As HSP we are very attuned to their internal and external landscape and are more receptive to experiences of joy, awe, and beauty as well as despair, suffering and grief. We're strongly impacted by difficult circumstances, and we often carry grief related to what we needed and didn't receive as children; the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and shamed; sorrow related to the suffering we see in the world including the loss and longing for deeper connection and community. I share my perspective on grief tending, the importance of shadow work and connecting with our soul; how this often relates to our purpose as HSP. In this episode, I speak with Jole Berlage-Buccellati about the importance of exploring the spectrum and diversity of experience found within the Highly Sensitive Person. We discuss the connection between HSP and trauma, HSP and being a change-marker and how HSPs are often high-potential individuals. Jole Berlage-Buccellati's path led her from two degrees in science (biology/anthropology) and a minor in music, to a certification as a Pilates trainer with Alan Herdman. Years of training in Karate and Modern Dance taught her about the organized flow of life energy and the focused mind approach inherent in both. A master's degree in music therapy allowed me to fuse these various threads into an integral and innovative approach to support highly-sensitives. Certifications as an Energy Codes Facilitator (Dr. Sue Morter) and in Embodied Processing deepened her understanding of the human energy system and qualified her to work with trauma. A few years ago, she created Qi- Pilates to support her clients in reconnecting with their bodies in a deep way. In this episode, we discuss how to connect with our innate gifts and thrive as Highly Sensitive People. As a Transpersonal Coach, I'm passionate about embodied transformation and helping those of us who are highly sensitive go beyond our conditioning and reconnect with our core Self. How do we go from knowing something intellectually to embodying it in the cells of our being? How do we live in alignment with the qualities of our innate essence – the truth of who we know ourselves to be? My work has led me to develop the HSH Integrative Model for Embodied Transformation, which encompasses eight domains for helping HSP thrive and step into their authentic gifts. Mastery in the eight domains enables us to navigate emotional overwhelm and step into our authentic power. I share the eight domains in this podcast episode.Jules De Vitto's Bio, MAEd, MSc Certified Transpersonal Coach and EducatorJules De Vitto has a BSc in Psychology, MA in Education and MSc in Transpersonal Psychology, Consciousness and Spirituality. She is an accredited and certified Transpersonal Coach, Authentic-Self-Empowerment Facilitator, as well as an experienced teacher and educator. In this episode, we discuss the potential connection between high sensitivity and spiritual awakening experiences. Jessica shares her recently published research 'Spontaneous Spiritual Awakenings: Phenomenology, Altered States, Individual Differences, and Well-Being'. In this episode, based on Jules' background in Transpersonal Psychology and understanding of psychospiritual transformation - Jules share the perspective that experiences of trauma can often be a catalyst for our psychospiritual growth and awakening as Highly Sensitive People.Jules discusses how the traits of high sensitivity can mean HSP are more prone to the impact of their environment and dysregulation of our nervous system. Inspired by the teaching of Gabor Mate, Bessel Van der Kolk, and Peter Levine she touches upon what Gabor refers to as the 'wisdom of trauma' and share how trauma, can result in a 'breaking open' and without negating the challenges. She share the perspective that trauma can move us closer to the divine and a connection with the spiritual; often resulting in awakening. She draws on the concept of the wounded healer and the importance of leaning towards, rather than moving away from our difficulties.Join the online 8-week course: Step into your Authentic Power as a Highly Sensitive Person This course offers 8-modules with an abundance of resources, meditations, workbooks, 1-1 and group coaching, community support as well as live workshops with guest experts! In this short episode, I share the perspective that high sensitivity cannot be explained due to innate traits or genetic alone, but we need to consider the impact that our environment has on how our sensitivity is expressed. I also propose that our sensitivity is linked to our individual soul's purpose. I briefly introduce some of the theories that have inspired my work, such as Bruce Lipton's work on epigenetics which takes up away from the idea that we're simply biochemical machines to understand that we are very powerful in creating and unfolding the lives that we lead. I share the idea that we have a soul purpose and highly sensitive people have unique and amazing gifts to share with the world.
