Rollistan: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ron Perlman, Leonor Varela, Norman Reedus, Thomas Kretschmann, Luke Goss, Matt Schulze, Donnie Yen, Karel Roden, Tony Curran, Marit Velle Kile, Danny John-Jules, Santiago Segura Superlänk med alla våra plattformar: Filmsmakarna #Blade2 #WesleySnipes #ronpearlman #blade #filmsmakarna

Have you heard of Blade? He's the scourge of the vampire world and is what they refer to as a "Daywalker" - he has all of their strengths....NONE of their weaknesses. And he's played by Wesley Snipes, have you heard of him? He was one of the bigger action stars of the '90's back when action stars were actually a thing which would draw folks to go to the movies. The lore of Blade and the charisma of Snipes seemed to be an ideal match at the time and twenty-five years ago this month, we saw the release of that first Blade movie (starring Snipes in the titular role) which was directed by Stephen Norrington. It was not only a surprise hit at the box office but it also earned the distinction of being THE first successful feature film adapted by a Marvel Comics property.....and obviously was far from the last. It co-starred Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, and N'Bushe Wright. Four years later came the release of its sequel directed by Oscar-winning genre legend Guillermo Del Toro - both Snipes and Kristofferson returned to be joined by a pretty impressive extended cast including Ron Pearlman, Leonor Varela, Norman Reedus, Luke Goss, and the legendary Donnie Yen. In honor of the 25th Anniversary of this seminal cinema property, what better way to celebrate than a special DOUBLE-FEATURE review of those first two Blade movies! - Playliste: Kenny Thomas – Thinking about your love Sanne Salomonsen – Where blue begins Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers – Learning to fly X-Sample – Dreamin' at Buristead Road (Eclipse Mix) Iron Maiden – Can I play with madness Massive Attack – Safe from harm Pet Shop Boys – Being boring

The story is the stuff of legends: twin brothers Matt Goss and Luke Goss combining forces in the 1980s, armed with leather jackets, bandanas and razor-sharp pop under the moniker Bros. In the blink of an eye, the brothers and original member Craig Logan became household names, going on to become the youngest artists to ever headline at the hallowed Wembley Stadium in London, whilst attracting mania-level adoration courtesy of their heart-throb looks and monster classics like When Will I Be Famous, Drop The Boy and I Owe You Nothing. But behind the swift success and pop icon status Bros attained, an entirely different story was playing out behind the scenes: one of discord and constant media scrutiny, coupled with usual family clashes and the stressors of fame, ultimately leading to Bros breaking up in the early 1990s much to the dismay of their legions of (often screaming) fans. It hasn't been all doom and gloom though, with 2016 bringing the tantalising news that the brothers Goss would be mounting a hotly-anticipated reunion show the following year; and the world was gifted with a substantial inside look into what went into that end result courtesy of the BAFTA award-winning 2018 Bros documentary Bros: After The Screaming Stops.2022 will also now see Matt Goss release a brand new solo album, The Beautiful Unknown, channeling his lessons honed via his acclaimed Las Vegas residency, alongside the promise of many solo and potential Bros live shows - and, happily, Australia is firmly set in their sights. But before this latest chapter unfolds (and to celebrate Aussie audiences finally being able to see the Bros doco via SBS VICELAND and SBS ON DEMAND for a limited time), Matt Goss joins host Tiana speter today on The Green Room to chat fame, family, authenticity and much, much more.IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS:How Matt's 2022 has started off, and what's in store for him this yearThe reality behind the scenes and the experience of viewing the documentary Bros: After The Screaming Stops for Matt, as well as what was really going through Matt's head when he and brother Luke Goss emerged onstage at the Bros reunion gig at London's O2 arena in 2017The universal experience of family disputes, and Matt's advice for surviving conflict with families and loved ones in generalTraversing fan mania throughout his career, Matt shares his thoughts on the potential secrets to the enduring adoration for BrosMatt talks personal and public aspects of songwriting, as well as finding a safe place, vulnerability and authenticity when creating and in relationships in generalMatt dives into the observed fatigue of the pandemic in Australia (a place he considers as one of his most favourite in the world) and the importance of letting the arts get back on trackHow Matt gets gig fit for live shows (hint: it's extremely wholesome)The steep but valuable learning curve of doing his now-legendary Las Vegas residencyA look back at an early Bros live show memory in Newcastle, and why the show was a significant turning point in the band's legacyThe toll and lessons learned from the significant media attention that dogged Bros in their earlier years, and some advice Matt would offer to younger bands today when dealing with social media and the media in generalWhat some of Matt's proudest achievements have been so far (from meeting Frank Sinatra to still being neck-deep in the industry)Matt's essential (and benevolent) green room items, and the beauty of all things unknown See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Believe it or not they made a sequel - to positive results! Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, Hellboy II: The Golden Army is the sequel to the 2004 film Hellboy. Ron Perlman reprises his starring role as Hellboy - the character created by Mike Mignola. Luke and Jae revisit the world of Hellboy, years before it was unsuccessfully rebooted. Hellboy (Ron Perlman), his pyrokinetic girlfriend, Liz (Selma Blair), and aquatic empath, Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), face their biggest battle when an underworld prince (Luke Goss) plans to reclaim Earth for his magical kindred. Tired of living in the shadow of humans, Prince Nuada tries to awaken an ancient army of killing machines to clear the way for fantasy creatures to roam free. Only Hellboy can stop the dark prince and prevent humanity's annihilation.

Q&A with actor Luke Goss on the film Hollow Point. Moderated by Mara Webster, In Creative Company. When his wife and daughter are senselessly murdered, a college professor finds himself caught up in a war between a group of charismatic vigilantes and the criminals that infest their city.
On the latest edition of Sean at the Movies I talk with star Dilan Jay and Director Daniel Zirelli about their throwback action movie Hollow Point. Hollow Point tells the story of an ethics professor, played by Dilan Jay, who loses his wife and daughter to a horrific murderer. The culprit is a drug dealer played by Jay Mohr and the murder sets Jay off on a path toward revenge but along the way, he slowly realizes how futile and pointless vengeance is, that essentially, vengeance has a point but it is a Hollow Point. Michael Pare, Luke Goss and Juju Chan co-star in Hollow Point which is in limited theatrical release and is available anywhere were streaming movies can be rented.
I was given another opportunity to screen a film before it's release date and this week's episode is on the new film Hollow Point, which releases on April 9th starring Luke Goss, Dilan Jay, Jay Mohr, JuJu Chan Szeto, Bill Duke, Michael Paré, Roger Guenveur, and Natalie Burn. It's directed by Daniel Zirilli, who also was one of the writers, along with Chad Law and Evan Law. Remember two things: “Keep your head down and don’t shoot your dick off.” “I really just didn’t want to get raped today." Themed Drink: Well since this is a new film, there really isn't a themed drink, during the podcast we suggest a Blood and Honey from Revolver Brewery, which is an American Ale. We also suggest a Bloody Mary, beer, or something that will make you feel like you've been punched in the face; so you've got options. Drinking Game: Take a sip every time someone says F**k or Mother F***er. Take a sip every time someone shoots someone or shoots a gun. Take a sip every time you see a token minority character. Take a sip every time someone has a tragic back story. Finish your drink if someone dies. Finish your drink when you see bad CGI. As always, drink responsibly and with others. Already a successful restaurateur from Palm Springs, Christian was inspired to pursue his passion for filmmaking after reading Robert Rodriguez's Rebel without a Crew while attending SDSU. He made his first feature in 2006, which was released domestically on VOD and DVD everywhere and has since made a name for himself in the indie action space as a genre filmmaker. Most notably Vigilante Diaries, a graphic novel style action film released by Anchor Bay, was also HBO's first under a million dollar action film acquired in over a decade. Sesma is developing a series with Exec Producer Reggie Hudlin (Django, Black Panther), his crime heist thriller PayDirt, starring Luke Goss and Val Kilmer, released in August 2020 and has two films releasing this summer. The action thrillers, Take Back, with Mickey Rourke and Micheal Jai White and Every Last One of Them starring Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss, Taryn Manning and Jake Weber. Our black superhero spotlight ends on a high note when we watch Guillermo Del Toro's pitch-perfect Blade II. There's not a lot we don't discuss, from the wonderful direction to the performances with special emphasis on Snipes, Perlman, and Kristofferson, and why Marvel can't seem to make Blade work in the comics. All this, plus we talk about the ongoing saga of the Joss Whedon abuse allegations and Gina Carano being fired.

This week Mike, Rich and Steve take a look at three new DTV features. First up is MONEY PLANE, which has a great cast - Adam Copeland (WWE's The EDGE), the always awesome Thomas Jane and Kelsey Grammer, showing everyone how to own a supporting role. Next up is PAYDIRT, starring Luke Goss (not Matt!) and Val Kilmer in a film which felt like it belongs in a different decade - take a listen to get what I mean. Finally we have WIDOW'S POINT, starring Craig Scheffer (Nightbreed). This one definitely split the team so take a listen to find out how! Our Short Shot this week is WE DIE ALONE, directed by Marc Cartwright and starring Baker Chase Powell. Normally we'd put a direct link to the film itself but this is available on Amazon Prime. Finally, our DTV Throwback is SABOTAGE - nothing to do with The Beastie Boys but everything to do with Mark Dacascos and a great performance from a pre-Matrix Carrie Anne Moss. Don't forget to check out our Twitter feed @TheDTVDigest, and our facebook page Please also check out my WE DIE ALONE INTERVIEW!
The actor and former Bros star tells Nihal about starring in Paydirt alongside Val Kilmer.

Episode 104 TRAILER PARK ‘The Tax Collector’ - Kicking off Trailer Park this week we have Shia LeBeouf and Bobby Sotto starring the next feature film from Writer/Director David Ayer (Suicide Squad, Fury, Training Day and many more). Here we find LeBeouf and Sotto star as a couple of Tax Collectors for some of the heaviest and meanest thugs and gangs in the LA area. Sotto is a family man while LeBeouf is a hardened loner who almost seemingly gets off on hurting people and loves his job. When Sotto’s family seems to be taken hostage and their lives are threatened, the deadly duo must work together to get them back with as much bloodshed as possible of course! Also starring everyone’s favourite Latino Television dad, George Lopez! Bursting into American theatres like LaBeouf's cauliflower ears, August 7! ‘An American Pickle’ - It’s been a hot minute since one Seth Rogen has graced our presence on the big screen, and it looks like we’re going to be waiting a little longer as his next film is coming to HBO Max.. awesome. But here we have An American Pickle, a film about a man from the Eastern European country of Schlupsk, who immigrates with his wife to good ol’ Brooklyn. While they're trying to live out the American dream he gets a job in a pickle factory when one day, tragedy strikes and he falls into the pickle brine and dies. OR DOES HE?! 100 years later he awakens from the brine and it turns out, he was perfectly preserved in the broth and is now the same ‘age’ as his Great Great Grandson. While trying to adjust to the modern world and overcome the loss of all the people he knew, he and his GG Grandson start-up a pickle business! What could go wrong?! Punching onto HBO Max like a man from Schlupsk punching on with a Taxi, 6th of August. ‘Money Plane’ - This is the trailer we all needed this week and we didn’t even know it! A high octane, straight to DVD action flick starring a former wrestler! Here we have Money Plane! When a man with $40 million worth of debt has his outstanding bill paid off by an Uber rich guy, he needs to perform one favour to him. And no, it’s not a sneaky BJ under the table while he puffs on a cigar. It’s to gather together his crew of misfits to take down the mythical Money Plane. A casino with wings where no government can touch that has Billions of dollars on board. Sounds easy right? Wrong! I’m sure it’ll be insanely difficult! But nothing a man bun and Thomas Jane can’t handle! Crashing onto on Demand and DVD like (inevitably) a money plane from the sky, TODAY! ‘Amulet’ - Iiiiiiiiiit’s horror time! I’m the trailer for Amulet, we follow a man named Thomas, a former soldier seeking refuge. When he gets offered the chance to stay in a decaying old house, he is stoked with the opportunity to live for free in lieu of some odd jobs around the house trying to fix it up a bit. He doesn’t live there alone as there is a lonely young woman residing in the house along with her dying mother. Oh, poor love. But maybe something much more sinister is going on? Maybe the ‘dying’ old woman is actually a very hungry demon or something? All I know, if a Nun offers you a place to stay, you chuckle and then run the other fucking way! Flopping into American theatres like a dead fish on a chopping board, July 24! ‘Paydirt’ - A man on parole after serving time in prison teams up with his old crew to find the millions of dollars he stashed away in the desert before being locked up. That’s it, I literally just summarised the whole movie. But in the spirit of Trailer Park, let’s dig a little deeper! Pun intended! Luke Goss got himself set up and caught after a drug deal went wrong and the good old’ sheriff Mr. Val Kilmer himself got his man. But now he is out and free, Kilmer knows his man is up to no good again and even though he appears to be retired (careful how I say that!), he is still going to hunt him down before he gets to the loot! But it’s not just the sheriff after him, as the millions buried in the desert have become somewhat of a ‘legend’ and many other bad people have tried to find the money but to no avail! So he has a lot of attention to him as money is worth it… a lot… you know, cause it’s money. Also featuring a donkey load of the usual ‘straight to DVD’ action cliches! Grinding on demand like a stripper grinding on a thugs crotch, August 7! ‘The Silencing’ - Ending trailer park this week we have ourselves a little Cat and Mouse thriller! A man living in isolation in the woods teams up with the local sheriff to track down the man responsible for many young girls' deaths in the area. The man's daughter was kidnapped years ago and he believes that there is a killer who is detaining these women and then releasing them in the woods to hunt them for sport. The sheriff is like, so totally sick of this shit and is more than happy to team up with a regular dude to track this heartless killer down instead of, you know, using her police force? Seems legit. Exploding onto Canadian on-demand screens like a can of orange paint, 14th of August! YASSS OR PASSS - July 7th - (Glendale, Kotara & Tuggerah) ‘The Legend of the Five’ - A group of kiddies on a field trip discover an old ‘relic’ of some kind that grants them superpowers! Now with these new talents, they are responsible for taking down an age-old evil from destroying the world!! A family fantasy adventure film starring teenagers of no name or notoriety. ‘War’ - A Bollywood action film following a soldier who is tasked with taking down his former mentor who has gone rogue after an unexpected killing! Starting some jacked-up Bollywood stars and has loads of explosions and intensity! Probably dancing too! ‘Waves’ - A coming of age drama, this story follows an African American family led by their well-intentioned yet domineering father as he and his family navigate life through south Florida after a devastating loss. Films Coming this week that are NOT new: ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Frozen’, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘Predator’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’. @2c3pod Aussie Pop Culture Podcast ~ 2 Episodes every Wednesday and Friday + YOUTUBE bonus content. Oh, brother. It's a big one as the NO POPCORN team of Hanratty, Higgins and Howard re-convene to shine a light on the genuinely incredible BROS: AFTER THE SCREAMING STOPS. A documentary on par with Metallica: Some Kind of Monster and This Is Spinal Tap sees two brothers warring with each other and their own colossal, bruised egos as a race against time ticks down in the background. Truly jaw-dropping stuff. ACT ONE: What We've Been Watching including early Coen Brothers, recent arthouse fare and a ringing endorsement for the deeply compelling Sunderland 'Til I Die. ACT TWO [20:00]: The main event comes screaming into focus as Matt and Luke Goss take centre stage. Were/are Bros any good? Do you wind up rooting for them here? Have they been stitched up by the filmmakers? Can we possibly pick just one quote to highlight? And the most important question of all; Team Matt or Team Luke? An authentic jack of all trades, Steven Luke has mastered it all. Having spent the duration of his career exploring cinema as a writer, director, actor and producer, he has crafted a niche style of filmmaking within the war film genre. Imagine the challenge of capturing a compelling and striking war piece with budget restrictions and a need for innovative creativity; Steven has orchestrated a process that continues to amaze. In his feature, War Pigs, Steven finds himself acting alongside cinematic veterans, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Luke Goss. His most recent feature, The Great War, starring Ron Perlman and Billy Zane, is one in which Steven flexed all of his filmmaking talents behind the screen, as writer, director, and producer. Be sure to check out his work on Amazon Prime and most other streaming services.

You couldn’t go far in the mid-80s without hearing the voice of Matt Goss. As one half of the British band Bros, along with his twin British brother Luke Goss, Matt found himself surrounded by screaming fans, hits records, sold-out arenas, and the pressures that come with fame. After becoming the youngest guys ever to sell-out Wembley Stadium in 1989, Bros broke up three years later. So what came next for Matt Goss? Today, Matt enjoys his current status as “The New King of Vegas,” with a scorching hot residency at the Mirage at MGM Resorts, where he mixes his unparalleled style and showmanship with classic crooners and a whole lot of soul. He came on Business Class to tell us what the early days of the band were really like, life in Vegas, the influence of his mom, his complicated relationship with his brother Luke, and lots more. We also touch on one of my favorite topics, ego (more to come there from the nondrama queen Cy Wakeman in a future episode). Enjoy.

'After The Screaming Stops' is a film, produced by James Corden's production company that follow Matt and Luke Goss, of the band Bros. You can watch the film on Amazon, Google Play and iTunes (among others) and it's also on BBC 4 during the Christmas and New Year break. In this episode of the podcast, I share some thoughts having watched the film and there are some relevant themes for us all to consider.
Bros were a fascinating pop group. Twin brothers on the crest of stardom and riches came crashing down amid mismanagement and internal, deep-seated issues. Years later they reformed for a triumphant gig at London's O2 and cameras were there to capture every second. Intense, often funny, more often angry and with a few tears thrown in for good measure - it's a film that shows as much about family as it does about celebrity. Here, Matt and Luke talk to Jamie East about making it - and directors David Soutar (One Direction and Harry Styles' favoured producer) and Joe Pearlman give an insight into how they managed to control the tempest and get it all on film. A fascinating glimpse into what must have been one hell of a ride. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

This weeks episode was recorded sometime back in late 2016! BLADE II is directed by Guillermo del Toro, and stars Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ron Perlman, Leonor Varela, Norman Reedus, and Luke Goss. Sharpen them fangs! It’s time to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!
Since we're gluttons for punishment, GLUTTONS I say, we dive back into the franchise for which we've received the most hate mail with Hellboy II: The Golden Army! Did we really need a sexy shower scene with just Hellboy in? Why hasn't Luke Goss become a bigger name actor? How weirded out were you by Andrew's bizarre fascination with the sound of fake teeth? What is the very real, deadly, increasing, and persistent danger of bees? Feel free to head over to the Facebook page to tell us what you think about our Hellboy episodes. Or to defend us from people doing that!

Colonel A.J.

Joining me in the studio in January were two of the Ian McMillan Orchestra. Ian McMillan is well known as poet in residence for Barnsley FC and beat poet for Humberside police and a Radio 3 broadcaster. Luke Carver Goss plays accordian amongst other instruments, writes commissioned peices and plays in a number of bands including the much praised Tea Hodzic Trio. The idea was to talk about their tour and new album Sharp Stories but somehow it didn't quite work out like that. I blame the coffee! The duo are masters of improvisation and it turned out to be a session full of mischief including the special improvisation for GondwanaSound. Enjoy. Copyright GondwanaSound all rights reserved. GondwanaSound is a two hour magazine style broadcast of global roots and grooves, every Wednesday 10-midday on Sheffield Live! 93.2FM. Further details on http://www.gondwanasound.co.uk
