Robin was introduced to holistic healing as a child by her mother, Charlene Reyes, who ran a family natural health business that involved whole foods, herbology and gardening. In part, her mom incorporated this into the family to help Robin's dad, who had been in a bad car accident and had brain damage when Robin was very young. Some of the people Robin learned from when she was a child included: Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. M.O. Garten, Dr. Paul Bragg, Ann Wigmore, T.C. Fry, and Dr. John R. Christopher, who occasionally taught groups at the Reyes household. Later, Robin studied biochemistry, nutrition, natural healing, and earned an array of certifications in natural health. Perhaps Robin's greatest teaching lesson came in her twenties, when she suffered a horrific bicycle injury. That injury forced her to cease her pre-med studies and undergo many surgeries. A healthy diet is essential for good health. What that looks like can vary over time, so it's really important to listen to your body and pivot when you notice changes in your health. Although I prefer to eat a plant-centric diet, I have never gone vegan for more than a 30 day stint. I tend to go in a direction 80-90% and then listen to my body for cues on what it wants and needs. Play around a bit and see what works for you. Kirlian photography, how it shows more about the Photon energy frequency in fruits and Vegetables Kathrine: I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1996. Called after Thomas Hodgkin who was a British pathologist who first described this “disease” in the early 1800's.On that day I had no idea what Hodgkin's Lymphoma was or that it was a type of “cancer”. I soon learned quite quickly. There was an urgency in the doctor's recommendation that I meet with another member of staff who will detail my options to me. And for them there was only one option, which was chemotherapy. The mention of cancer frightened me and from that day until I read Ann Wigmore's book “The Wheatgrass Book” I lived in fear. I began treatment shortly afterwards and the effects of that first treatment rendered me weak and in awful pain. I didn't know back then that the chemotherapy they injected me with was not curing me but instead adding to my clogged up lymphatic system. Because that is what my problem was…..A Blocked up Lymphatic System! The information about the raw and living food diet and wheat grass juice in Ann Wigmore's book was so compelling and rang so true to me, I immediately adopted the program. As I experienced the diet and practiced the detoxification techniques, I experienced an extraordinary feeling of well being. At that point, I lost all fear of the disease returning and found unbounded hope based on a new-found knowledge and direct experience. Since that time, I have studied more about health and my confidence in the body healing itself has grown tremendously, provided you give it the foods that the human body is designed for, which is foods from the garden. Particularly fruits and greens in their natural state. I taught healthy eating classes for eight years demonstrating recipes that didn't need cooking. I ran a Raw Food Retreat center for awhile where people came and stayed for a week or more. I am passionate about helping people back to health. It is not a chore for me as I love it! Kathrine: "I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1996. Called after Thomas Hodgkin who was a British pathologist who first described this “disease” in the early 1800’s. On that day I had no idea what Hodgkin’s Lymphoma was or that it was a type of “cancer”. I soon learned quite quickly. There was an urgency in the doctor’s recommendation that I meet with another member of staff who will detail my options to me. And for them there was only one option, which was chemotherapy. The mention of cancer frightened me and from that day until I read Ann Wigmore’s book “The Wheatgrass Book” I lived in fear. I began treatment shortly afterwards and the effects of that first treatment rendered me weak and in awful pain. I didn’t know back then that the chemotherapy they injected me with was not curing me but instead adding to my clogged up lymphatic system. Because that is what my problem was…..A Blocked up Lymphatic System! The information about the raw and living food diet and wheat grass juice in Ann Wigmore’s book was so compelling and rang so true to me, I immediately adopted the program. As I experienced the diet and practiced the detoxification techniques, I experienced an extraordinary feeling of well being. At that point, I lost all fear of the disease returning and found unbounded hope based on a new-found knowledge and direct experience. Since that time, I have studied more about health and my confidence in the body healing itself has grown tremendously, provided you give it the foods that the human body is designed for, which is foods from the garden. Particularly fruits and greens in their natural state. I taught healthy eating classes for eight years demonstrating recipes that didn’t need cooking. I ran a Raw Food Retreat center for awhile where people came and stayed for a week or more. I am passionate about helping people back to health. It is not a chore for me as I love it! I am from South West Ireland. Grew up on a farm for first part of my life. Lived for 9 years in Dublin city, 16 years in London and I have been living in Utah since 2007. Nature is inherently abundant. No one has to spray the forests or plant the wetlands in order for them to thrive in perfect balance. As such, food gathered from the wild has the highest potential to nourish us on a deep level. When we realize that we have access to this bounty without having to intervene and sweat and toil (the original definition of agriculture!)…when we truly know this, then we can begin to release our scarcity mentality, relax our grip, our need to control. This shift is particularly liberating. Katrina Blair began studying wild plants in her teens when she camped out alone for a summer to embrace a wild foods diet. She later wrote “The Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants of the San Juan Mountains” for her senior project at Colorado College. She completed a MA at John F Kennedy University in Holistic Health Education. She founded Turtle Lake Refuge in 1998, a non-profit, whose mission is to celebrate the connection between personal health and wild lands. Turtle Lake Refuge includes a wild living foods café, sustainable education center and community farm. Katrina teaches permaculture and wild edible and medicinal classes locally and globally.
