LDS Guided Meditation & Mindful Reading: Companion to LDS Come Follow Me Studies
This podcast is a guided meditation and mindfulness reading that accompanies the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Come Follow Me curriculum. This podcast is broken up into 3 parts. The first 5 min. is a guided meditation followed by a mindful reading of the Come Follow Me lesson from the manual with pauses for pondering. And a 10 min. self guided meditation... or in other words, time for you to ponder, pray and reflect...or drift into much needed restful sleep. You can use the timestamps to listen to it all at once, or focus on one section at a time! This is not an official Podcast of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. Please email Me at ldsguidedmeditation@gmail.com for comments, questions, or suggestions. I'd love to hear from you!
Today we will discuss making good decisions and how children can make good choices. This podcast is called Come Follow Me Kids or Come Follow Me For Kids or Come Follow Me For Children. I'm just a mom who wants to help other moms have an easy way to do come follow me with their kids each week. I hope this podcast helps you. This week the lesson is: June 2–8: “Anxiously Engaged in a Good Cause”Doctrine and Covenants 58–59Children will learn: I can “bring to pass much righteousness” of my “own free will.”Heavenly Father has given me power to choose. This week some of our segments were taken from the friend magazine and other church sources. Lesson #2 for a Zion People helps us learn a great lesson from the majestic...sloth!
Please join us on our Patreon website (TSAR.website), where you can get fantastic extra content, and you also support us in continuing to make the podcast. We hope to see you there. In this episode Kerry and Julianne go through the historical background behind these two amazing revelations. They provide information most don't know about regarding how things got started by the missionaries who arrived in Missouri. They also talk about the dedication of the land for creating Zion. They then talk about the Colesville group, and the death of Polly Knight and how that influenced Section 59. They also discuss the absolute consecration she exhibited and how we can learn from that, and what it really means to be a Zion people. That involves being anxiously engaged, and they explore what that looks like in our lives. We are grateful for our executive producers, B. Fisher and K. Bradley, and for all our generous and loyal donors. We are also very grateful for all our Patreon members. We are so thankful for Launchpad Consulting Studios for producing the content and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.
Send us a textSaints in the South CLASSIC! This week we talk about the initial disappointment that was felt by many members of the church when they showed up in Independence, Missouri, expecting to see a thriving community of Saints. They later discovered it was not yet time for them to build the city of Zion. In a revelation to Joseph Smith, The Lord told the saints "Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God... and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation." Many times it is so much harder to keep our eyes on the promised blessings rather than focus on the current tribulation we are experiencing. That's one reason it is important to stay "Anxiously engaged in a good cause" It will help us forget about our current struggles and challenges. Then before we know it, the blessings have come! What good causes are you "anxiously engaged in"? We discuss the faith of Polly Knight. We also discuss the sabbath day and what the early saints might have done to keep the sabbath day holy. Is it easier to keep the Sabbath holy today, or in the early days of the church? Join us this week as we apply the experiences of the early saints to our own lives!Support the show! June 2-8Can you imagine living in a world where people did not hurt each other or become angry or divided? Can you imagine families with total harmony and marriages with no contention? Can you imagine a world where everyone watched out for each other and people were there to help you when you needed it? Can you imagine a place so pure that God could be there? It may sound too good to imagine, but that is the Zion that the Lord envisions for us and that's what we hope to build.
On the latest episode of the Politically Speaking Hour on St. Louis on the Air, STLPR's Jason Rosenbaum explores the excruciating waiting game for St. Louisans waiting for FEMA assistance to recover from this month's tornado. Rosenbaum also talked with Congressman Wesley Bell about how President Donald Trump hasn't signed off on disaster relief yet. And with a special session looming, Rosenbaum welcomes state Sen. Brian Williams on the program to talk about why the General Assembly's extra time may be bumpy next week.
An in-depth study of D&C 58-59, a revelation laying out the "welcome mat" to the Saints who first began gathering to Zion, and a revelation offering a paradigm shift on commandments, and specifically speaking of the Sabbath Day. In many ways, the early Saints had no idea what they were stepping into when they arrived in Zion, yet they also had no idea how much "power was in them" to make a difference there. 0:00 Introduction and Overview 5:21 Rough Road Ahead 18:20 The Wedding Feast 26:30 Anxiously Engaged 39:00 Real Repentance 53:07 Crowned with Commandments 1:05:57 The Sabbath Day 1:20:52 Generosity and Ingratitude 1:36:36 One-Liners

In this conversation, Blu and Hayley Leishman explore the complexities of addiction, trauma, and recovery. They discuss Haley's journey from recreational therapy to becoming a certified coach and obtaining a master's degree in counseling. The conversation delves into the connection between trauma and addiction, the importance of celebrating small wins in recovery, and the challenges of addressing behavioral addictions, particularly pornography. They also touch on the stigma surrounding these issues and the need for support systems for both individuals struggling with addiction and their partners. The discussion emphasizes the significance of emotional intimacy in relationships and the impact of attachment styles on addiction behaviors. In this conversation, the speakers delve into the complexities of attachment styles, the impact of technology on relationships, and the challenges of modern sexuality. They discuss the importance of open communication about topics like pornography and the role of trauma in shaping relationships. The conversation highlights the power of EMDR therapy in fostering resilience and growth after trauma, emphasizing the need for honest discussions in relationships to navigate these challenges effectively. Listen to our previous episode with Hayley where she shares some of her personal story. https://addicttoathlete.libsyn.com/sober-sunrise Follow Hayley on IG- @cliffrosetherapy Takeaways Haley's journey highlights the importance of education in trauma and addiction. Many individuals suffer in silence, especially those not in the justice system. Pain from trauma is not meant to be carried indefinitely. Establishing trust is crucial in therapeutic relationships. Celebrating small wins can lead to significant progress in recovery. Behavioral addictions are often overlooked but equally devastating. Stigma around pornography addiction can hinder recovery efforts. Partners of addicts need support and reassurance. Emotional intimacy is often lacking in relationships affected by addiction. Understanding attachment styles can help address underlying issues in addiction. Anxiously attached and avoidantly attached individuals often attract each other. EMDR can help unravel attachment issues by addressing core emotional triggers. Technology has created disconnection in relationships, especially among younger generations. Young women often feel pressured to monetize their bodies, impacting their self-worth. The average age for first exposure to pornography is now around 11 years old. Longtime beauty executive Lori Singer has been instrumental in some of the biggest fragrance license deals of the past 20 years. Singer spent more than a decade at Coty, where she worked on bestselling fragrances by Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Balenciaga and Nautica. She also tripled global net revenues for Marc Jacobs with its iconic Daisy franchise launched in 2007. Singer got her start at Revlon, and her CV also includes Calvin Klein Cosmetics, Unilever and Benetton Group. “I've spent my entire career in beauty. I'm sort of a beauty lifer,” she told Glossy. “I fell in love on day one at Revlon, my first job, and I really have never looked back.” Singer joined Parlux in 2019 to grow its license business and immediately set her sights on Billie Eilish. “Other than music, fragrance and scent are everything to her. So, upon meeting her and hearing about her deep knowledge [of fragrance, we knew it was a fit for Parlux],” Singer told Glossy. “She knows ingredients and she knows about olfactory territory. She has had a natural nose for scents." By 2021, her first scent, Eilish, was released, which she followed up with Eilish No. 2 the next year and Eilish No. 3 in 2023. Fast forward to last week, and Parlux released Eilish's fourth fragrance, called Your Turn. The new scent is priced at $90 for 100 milliliters and available DTC — it will launch in Ulta Beauty doors later this spring. Your Turn is gender-neutral and described as “warm, woody and fresh” with notes of peach, ginger and sandalwood. Frank Voelkl, principal perfumer at fragrance house Firmenich, was the “nose.” One of the most famous perfumers working today, he has created Glossier's You franchise, Phlur's Mood Ring and Father Figure, and Le Labo's cult Santal 33, among others. Parlux is a global licensee for celebrities, fashion houses and lifestyle brands. The company launched in 1984 and is privately held. Its licenses include Kenneth Cole, Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden and Jason Wu, among others. Most recently, Parlux entered into a partnership with basketball player LeBron James to create The Shop, a line of grooming products distributed through Walmart. Then, in late 2024, the company launched its first fragrance with influencer-turned-designer Danielle Bernstein, the creator behind WeWoreWhat, called WeWoreWhat 001. Later this year, the company will celebrate another milestone: Paris Hilton's 30th fragrance over 20 years. Called Iconic, the scent will launch this spring. Singer joined the Glossy Beauty Podcast to discuss the secret sauce behind Parlux's celeb fragrances, the evolving fragrance consumer and 2025 industry predictions.

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Political correspondent Tal Schneider and reporter Diana Bletter join host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. Tensions are high in Israel over the possibility of a proposed hostage deal. Schneider discusses the Sunday phone conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden regarding the negotiations. She also reviews which Israeli officials are currently in Doha, along with Steve Witkoff, President-elect Donald Trump's Middle East envoy. Schneider says Netanyahu met with coalition leaders Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, as the prime minister needs those two powerful coalition partners on board to approve any hostage deal. Bletter talks about her visits to two northern kibbutz communities where residents have been evacuated for more than a year and now have to decide what the future holds for them. She also discusses a Weizmann Institute study about ants, and their ability to work well as a team, unlike their human counterparts. Anxiously watching the levels of the country's hydropower lakes is something of a New Zealand tradition. Hydro - unlike geothermal - can be turned on and off at will, meaning it can supplement variable wind and solar generation, for a clean and, ideally affordable electricity system. But the water flows that feed the lakes supplying more than HALF the nation's electricity are changing in not-entirely predictable ways, as Climate Change Correspondent Eloise Gibson reports.
Anxiously ruminating or worrying requires an internal focus: “But I'm worrying about my kids, or people I care about,” the worrier tries to argue. “I'm not focusing on myself!” Well, you are. You focus on your version of events, your particular construct, your perceptions. In this episode, we talk about how a genuine external focus leads to a disconnection from one's own compelling (and often stress-driven) narrative. Hour 3 THE DRIVE - Tuesday 12-17-24
First Sunday of AdventThe season of Advent is a time of waiting, properly understood as preparation. During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season it is normal to focus on menu planning, shopping for gifts, and writing Christmas cards. These are the usual ways to prepare for Christmas. One important part we left out though is found in today's Gospel. Jesus tells his disciples, “Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36-38). Advent provides us the opportunity to reflect on the reason for waiting...the arrival of Jesus Christ into our hearts. We also learn how we wait... Anxiously? Lonely? Curiously? Thankfully? Joyfully? As we begin this holy season, let us ask the Lord to open our hearts in prayer to receive the gift of his ever abiding presence. Scripture Reading December 1, 2024Jeremiah 33:14-16Psalm 25:4-5, 8-10, 141 Thessalonians 3:12—4:2Luke 21:25-28, 34-36

In this episode Alia, Rivka and Burke discuss the talk, "Be Anxiously Engaged" by Elder M. Russell Ballard from the October 2012 General Conference.
Web Description: Through the cross of Christ, we have been raised up with Him. Therefore when you face difficulties or spiritual warfare, do not anxiously look around you. Instead look up. Rise up and be with Him where He is. Stay with Him. Focus on Him. Then you will be positioned to loose God's will and His Kingdom in the earth. Show Notes: We read God's Word in Isaiah: “Do not anxiously look about you.” This is God speaking to Israel, and it applies directly to what Israel is experiencing today. We are witnesses to all the warfare and anti-Semitism that Israel and the Jewish people are suffering. Yet the Word of the Lord to them is not to look at those things but to trust Him. As Christians we need to apply this same Word to ourselves. As we walk as believers these days, we can see many signs of the end times. They are called days of tribulation, and we know that very desperate things can take place. Yet again the encouragement from Yeshua (Jesus) is that we do not focus on the things that are happening around us. Instead, we stand up straight, lift up our heads, and look up because our redemption draws nigh. This focus is very important for us as we strive to experience the cross in our daily lives. Taking up our cross daily to follow Him does not mean that we spend all day on the cross. It is through the cross that we are raised up with Christ and daily we keep seeking the things above where He is. In our waiting on the Lord and in our meditation and intercession, we are to be where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. If we are too locked into the world around us and our human needs and human problems, our intercession will be hindered. Our focus is on what Christ and the Father are doing so that what we see in the Kingdom of heaven we can loose here on earth. Key Verses: • Colossians 3:1–3. “If you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above.” • Isaiah 41:8–14. “Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.” • Luke 21:25–28. “When these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads.” • John 14:3. “Where I am, there you may be also.” Quotes: • “The cross is not a stopping place. It really is a point of beginning.” • “The resurrection is as important as the cross. If Christ only experienced the cross and there was no resurrection, then we don't have what we're looking for.” • “If you've been raised up with Christ, then don't be moved from that place with Christ. Keep seeking the things above where He is. We're supposed to be there. We're supposed to live there. We're supposed to focus there.” Takeaways: 1. We do not just go to the cross and die and then that is the end. The cross is the beginning of being raised up with Christ and moving in His presence. And if we are raised up with Him, we keep seeking the things above where He is. 2. We are to set our minds on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Our focus is not to be on the world around us and what is transpiring there. We are to keep our focus on the Lord. 3. We are to rise up, which is more than standing up straight or looking up. We are to rise into God's presence and be with Him just as Christ said we could. 4. This is what makes our intercession effective. Yeshua taught us to pray, “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” And if we are beholding His will in heaven, then we are able to loose it on the earth.
