If There Was One Thing You Can Give Your Child, What Would It Be? What Our Generation Needs MostThis text-based class is the ninth and last one in a series on the Maamar (discourse) Basi Legani, presented by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at the Farbrengen of 10 Shvat 5726, January 31, 1966. This class was presented on Thursday, 4 Shevat, 5786, January 22, 2026, Parshas Bo, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY. The class presents a summation of the Basi Legani 5726 discourse, finding the secret treasure given by the King to His soldiers so they can triumph in the final battle. We explore how bliss is the glue of creation, and the underlying heartbeat and soul of all existence. The deepest, most essential Divine bliss and pleasure, inaccessible because it is essentially beyond any grasp and definition, is shared with us. We discuss the meaning of the Garden, the snake, and the Tree of Knowledge; how the Baal Shem Tov came to heal the world and our people from the profound sense of anxiety, shame, and guilt that paralyzes us emotionally, and how we can recognize the "snake" inside of us, and lean in to love being communicated every moment, even when feel alone and detached. Can You Trust the Core of Your Child? It's In the Distance when I Discover Who I Really AmThis text-based class is the seventh in a series on the Maamar (discourse) Basi Legani, presented by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at the Farbrengen of 10 Shvat 5726, January 31, 1966. This class was presented on Monday, 1 Shevat, 5786, January 19, 2026, Parshas Bo, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY. In this class, we explore the parable of the Baal Shem Tov to explain why the Torah is basically a bunch of stories, of the prince who lost all connection with his father, the king. It was the wise minister who changed his clothes and language, connecting to the inner world of the prince, that allowed him to rediscover who he really is. We studied the teaching of the Maggid, why Moshe spoke of a three-day journey in the desert, to align the Torah of thought and speech with action. Why the Words “I Want” Can Be Sacred: What So Many Couples and Parents Don't Grasp About DesireThis text-based class is the fourth in a series on the Maamar (discourse) Basi Legani, presented by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at the Farbrengen of 10 Shvat 5726, January 31, 1966. This class was presented on Monday, 23 Teves, 5786, January 12, 2026, Parshas Vaera, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY. In this class, we discuss the two levels of "Makif" as they are expressed in a person's will. There is the conscious will affecting the entire body, and there is the unconscious will that we can't experience in our consciousness, only in "forgetting," channeling that which is beyond will, that which is rooted in the inaccessible essence. We explain the difference between Naaseh and Nishma, and why a leader who pursues leadership is disqualified. We also discuss how the mind, seeking control, calls anything it can't control "random," but really it is anything but that.View Source Sheets: https://portal.theyeshiva.net/api/source-sheets/9844

Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics:Yud Shevat – 75 Years What is the significance of this milestone? How does Basi L'Gani capture the central theme and mission of our seventh generation? What lessons do we learn from chapter 15 of Basi L'Gani? What is the chiddush that the most hidden treasures – l'maaleh maaleh ad ayn kaytz – are splurged on to the foot soldiers empowering them to be victorious over the enemies? What did each Rebbe add to the understanding of tzimtzum? Why did the maamar Basi L'Gani 5745 create a buzz by Chassidim? What are the practical applications of knowing that there are tzimtzumim before the tzimtzum ha'rishon (as explained in Basi L'Gani 5745)? What does chassidus mean when it refers to Hashem's essence as light – etzem ha'ohr? Why is ohr so fundamental in uniting G-d with existence? What's the point of knowing that G-d is so great that we can never really know him? Can we say that spreading the teachings of Chassidus by the Rebbeim is an expression of “splurging the treasures” (bizbuz ha'otzros)? How do we apply the statement that all sevenths are precious? If the Alter Rebbe opposed France and the West, why did the Frierdiker Rebbe settle in the United States? What's the best way to receive a response from the Rebbe today? What is the central theme of this Torah chapter? What personal and global lessons does it offer us? Can we apply the continuing story of exodus to the hostages today? Is G-d hardening the hearts of Hamas? Does the recent release of some hostages reflect the energy of redemption we read about in these weekly portions? How do we tap into this energy? Once G-d promised Jacob that He Himself would redeem him and his children, why did He appoint Moshe to lead the Jews out of Egypt?
