This is a hybrid construction with Koroyd inside, improving shock absorbency, strength and lightweight. These hollow tubes allow a mass of airflow, complemented by the huge number of vents. Add in Mips, the magnetic buckle, Smith's superb AirEvac system, BOA fit adjustment, anti-microbe lining and audio ready earpads, and you're onto a winner. Atomic Revent AMID, £160 (27:30) This series of helmets has a far more contemporary aesthetic than Atomic helmets of recent seasons. It has an in-mold dual shell, so is light with active venting. It has a removable and washable merino and 3m X-Static liner so doesn't develop the smell some helmets can. It has audio ready earpads and the new AMID (Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector) tech, combined with a Holo Core EPS liner for enhanced safety.   Bollé Keystone Mips, £120 (29:30) The Keystone is a new model, available in several colours. The minimalist aesthetic looks fab, and in testing we found it very comfortable. It doesn't have loads of vents, but at £120 it's great value. It's available without Mips for £90, but we recommend the added safety of Mips for £30 more. Oakley Flow Scape L Snow Goggles, £325 (32:30)   The Flow Scape has a new conical lens shape giving a dramatically increased field of view (FOV). The lens tilts in towards the face at the base, and is wider and further away from the face at the top. They've even changed the design of the Switchlock lens quick-release system, removing the need for magnets which would have encroached on the FOV. The Vision Rapt face foam is an ultra-memory foam, giving incredible comfort. Even the sliders on the strap have been tweaked to reduce their profile. Each Flow Scape comes with two lenses, one for brighter conditions and the second is the Prizm Iced Iridium, which is one of the best lenses you can get for flat light or stormy conditions. The only downside with this goggle, apart from the cost, is that it will be too large for some.  Head Neves Sunscreen, £330 (34:20) Wow. When we first tried this, we were blown away. The lens tech is next-level. This tint-changing tech covers categories S1-S3 and is solar powered. The solar panel generates a voltage, activating a microprocessor which controls the LCD to darken the lens. It changes tint almost instantly as you move from shade to light and back again.  Scott Ambit LS, £135 (36:00) Ambit is a new goggle design from Scott, including this medium to large fit, as well as the Ambit Compact, which suits smaller face shapes. Scott sells more photochromic lenses, as they cover a range of conditions, saving the hassle of swapping lenses. This Amplifier lens tech provides superb clarity and definition, and we've tested it in stinking, and stellar, conditions, and it always delivers.  Bliz G001, £79 (37:!5) The Bliz Scandinavian minimalist design, married with affordable quality, has impressed us. The G001 and G002 goggles are new for this season, available in adult and small sizes, and the lens is magnetic, for quick swaps. The G001's full frame construction looks almost frameless, whilst the G002 is more traditional, with a chunkier frame. The Smoke S3 lens is a fab choice when the sun's out and looks sensational in this black on white colourway. Mega comfy and excellent value. Zwischen Galtür und Ischgl laufen viele orthodoxe Juden – leicht erkennbar an Kippa, Schläfenlocken, Bart und Gebetsschal – auf den Gehsteigen entlang. Ich bin ein neugieriger Mensch, und so halte ich an und frage einen der Männer, ob sie ein besonderes Fest feiern. Der Mann schaut stur geradeaus und antwortet nicht. Später fällt mir auf, dass ja Shabbat ist, es ist Samstagvormittag. Ich recherchiere im Internet und lerne, dass Juden aus aller Welt in Tirol Urlaub machen. Hotels und Supermärkte haben sich auf die Gäste aus New York, Berlin und London ein- und auf koscher um-gestellt.Ich lerne auch, dass die besonderen Gäste in den Urlaubsorten nicht unumstritten sind und die einheimische Bevölkerung oft nichts mit ihnen anfangen kann. Deshalb vermutlich auch das Schweigen meines Straßenrand-Interviewpartners. Gleichzeitig haben Araber das schöne Fleckchen Erde entdeckt, in dem sich so wunderbar Urlaub machen lässt. An einer Seilbahn in Zell am See treffen sich die Familien zufällig – beide Seiten sind religionskonform gekleidet. Distanziert höflich sind sie – keine Auswirkungen des Nahostkonflikts. Wir sind hier, um Urlaub zu machen, sagen sie unisono.In Zell am See wurde jetzt ein Burka-Verbot erlassen. Das lässt natürlich Konfliktpotential auflodern.So wie in dem empfehlenswerten TV-Film „Das Unwort“, der kürzlich im ZDF ausgestrahlt wurde. Jüdische und palästinensische Schülerinnen geraten aneinander. Clash of Cultures. Ich empfehle sehr, diesen Film in der Mediathek anzusehen. Ischgl steht für Skifahren, Party und Luxus – fünf Jahre nach dem großen Corona-Cluster hat sich der Ort vom Reputationsschaden erholt, der Tourismus floriert wie eh und je. Doch die Winter werden immer wärmer, auch in den Tiroler Bergen. Wie lange wird der Wintertourismus in dieser Form noch existieren? In dieser Radioreise nimmt Sie Alexander Tauscher mit an das Tiroler Meer. Freuen Sie sich auf azurblaues Wasser, ein Atoll und ein erfrischendes Bad. Dieses Meer hat alle Zutaten eines Meeres, aber ist doch ein See, nämlich der größte im österreichischen Bundesland Tirol, der Achensee. Zunächst verschaffen wir uns aus der Perspektive des Heißluftballon einen Blick dieses Gewässer zwischen Rofan und Karwendel. Andy Nairz von alpineballooning spricht über das Gleiten in luftiger Höhe. Nach ihrer Jungfernfahrt im Heißluftballon sprachen wir in Achenkirch mit Natalie und Kevin Radi aus Innsbruck über die Erlebnisse an Bord des Korbes. Naturparkführer Manuel Stabentheiner startet mit uns in Pertisau in den winterlichen Wald. Wir suchen und Spuren und versuchen sie, den richtigen Tieren zuzuordnen. Unterwegs erzählt der Naturbursche über Flora und Fauna dieser Region. Gunther Hochhold, zuständig für Presse und Kommunikation bei Achensee Tourismus erwärmt unsere Gedanken mit Blick auf bis zu 22 Grad Wassertemperatur des Achensees im Sommer. Er spricht über das futuristische Gebäude und die autarke Energieversorgung des Atoll Achensee. Schließlich treffen wir Polina aus Moskau, die von Tirol schwärmt. Auf dem Genussmarkt beim Kulturzentrum  Ischgl treffen wir auch Patrick Raß, den Chefkoch im Schloßhotel Ischgl. Neben der Kulinarik geht es in dieser Sendung auch sportlich zu. Alexander von der Thannen, Obmann des Tourismusverbandes Paznaun-Ischgl, spricht über die teils sehr anspruchsvollen Mountainbike-Strecken der Region. Er zeigt uns außerdem das E Bike Riding Center in Ischgl. Dieses Lied direkt an der Silvretta Therme Ischgl, die sich als Kombination aus Sport und Wellness sieht. Marketingchefin Eveline Schweighofer erklärt uns, was der Iron Dome über Israel mit dem großen Hallenbad der Therme zu tun hat. Am Ende der Tour verbinden wir Kulinarik und Sport. In Galtür in Tirol ist das tatsächlich so passiert. Vor 25 Jahren, am 23. Februar 1999, begräbt eine Lawine Häuser, Autos und Menschen unter sich. 31 Einheimische und Tourist:innen sterben, darunter zahlreiche Kinder. Das Unglück erschüttert ganz Österreich. Michael Köhlmeier sieht seine Rolle als Mit-Initiator des Literaricum bescheiden. Vor mittlerweile 26 Jahren habe man sich in Lech am Arlberg gefragt, was man tun könne, um das Image dieses Dorfes zu heben, dass es nicht den Weg wie Ischgl oder Sölden einschlägt. Damals wurde das Philosophicum Lech gegründet. Diese philosophische Tagung, bei der jeweils ein Thema im Mittelpunkt steht, genießt heute im deutschsprachigen Raum einen ausgezeichneten Ruf. »Alles wird gut. Zur Dialektik der Hoffnung« ist im Herbst 2023 das Thema. Das erfolgreiche Konzept des Philosophicums wurde in ähnlicher Weise auf das Literaricum übertragen, das 2023 erst zum 3. Mal stattfand. Hier steht ein jeweils ein Klassiker der Weltliteratur im Fokus, in diesem Jahr »Stolz und Vorurteil« von Jane Austen. Michael Köhlmeier berichtet im Podcast von der Entstehung des Formats, bevor es um die Dialoge in Austens Werk geht. Gute Dialoge haben stets eine zweite Ebene, einen Sub-Plot. Der Sub-Plot in Austens Roman offenbare die menschenverachtende und antihumane Einstellung der damaligen Gesellschaft. Junge Frauen und Männer werden behandelt wie auf dem Viehmarkt. Darüber legen sich kontrastierend die Dialoge mit einer feinen, vornehmen Sprache. Doch wie gelingt es, Dialoge so meisterhaft zu schreiben wie Jane Austen? Diese Frage nach dem Handwerk oder Talent stellt sich immer wieder. Dem Eröffnungsabend des Literaricum fügt Michael Köhlmeier stets eine kleine literarische Beobachtung bei. Diesmal war es das Postulat, dass man als Autor oder Autorin immer an seine Figur denken solle und diese stets Vorrang vor Leserin oder Leser haben sollte. Im kulinarischen Sternenhimmel ist der jung-dynamische Ischgler Koch Benjamin Parth schon lange. Seine Küche im Hotel Yscla darf sich über Tirols meiste Hauben freuen. Benny trafen wir am Rande des "Kulinarischen Jakobswegs", auf dem uns auch Claudia Jehle vom Tourismusveraband Paznaun-Ischgl begleitet. Der Verfassungsrechtler Theo Öhlinger meint, durch zu späte Lokalschließungen könnte das "Recht auf Leben" verletzt worden sein. Während - seiner Ansicht nach - die von der Bundesregierung gesetzten Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung der Coronavirus-Epidemie im Großen und Ganzen verhältnismäßig seien, sieht der prominente Verfassungsrechtler Theo Öhlinger auf das Land Tirol Probleme zukommen. Dabei gehe es vor allem um unterlassene Maßnahmen mit Blick auf das grundrechtlich geschützte "Recht auf Leben". Haben das Land Tirol beziehungsweise die dortigen Behörden nicht genug getan, um die Gesundheit der Menschen zu schützen? Dass Sperren von Lokalen rechtzeitig erfolgt seien, könne man durchaus bezweifeln, sagt Öhlinger im profil-Podcast. "Und da kann ich mir schon vorstellen, dass die Frage auftaucht, ob hier nicht das Recht auf Leben, so wie es vom Europäischen Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte verstanden wird, betroffen ist und allenfalls bei einer 'Klage' ... Schadenersatz begehrt werden kann."
