Ben and Rob conclude the Swayze Trilogy with ‘Point Break', Kathryn Bigelow's perfect blockbuster from the golden days of 1991. Starring Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey, ‘Point Break' tells the tale of Johnny Utah and Bohdi as their dangerous cat and mouse relationship as cop and robber takes a radical turn. But why is Bohdi's past never discussed? How is he so physically capable and intellectually pretentious? Perhaps because he's lived a full life as first a dancer, and then a bouncer? Could it be that Bohdi is James Dalton who is in fact Johnny Castle!?CONSUUUME to find out all this and much MUCH more!PLUS! Have you ever heard of a ‘parody'? It's a kind of storytelling where the writer takes something from the real world, and then they imitate it while making some of the details bigger, funnier or exaggerated. Today's new story, by two siblings from Canada named Bohdi and Rose, is a perfect example. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The Bums usher in the front half of S3:E0080 with a new mascot (Bohdi the Bum) and an NBA playoff rundown; the Greek Freak has a wonky back; nobody outside of Orange County is pulling for the Lakers; Draymond draws a playoff edition suspension for Game 3 based on sins of the past; as talk turns to MLB, the Cubbies have a solid circus tour out west and remain above .500; the Pale Hose injury bug continues to bite (someone is getting fired); good guy Liam kicks cancer right in the dick; Sherzer gets a little vacation; Sin City is eyeballing a new sporting tenant; NFL updates as the Bears plan to add an upcharge to ticket prices to escape the absolute shithole that is Solider Field (and the Bums are A-OK with that); galactically stupid NFL players get busted gambling (against clear cut rules) and the suspensions and cuts run deep; Commie fans are dreaming of better times as Dan “Shit Bag” Snyder is on the verge on making billions; Mike Tidwell is next in our sights; and the close as the Bums pause their NHL ban with a Jonathan Toews send off.The back half of the mullet is flowing with another infamous beer review, featuring Bartlett, IL's More Brewing Company, with “Villa Pils” (4.8% ABV), a German-style pilsner that is crisper than More's brew house construction planning (we're still waiting); Chicago is set for a mid/major perfect storm of traffic chaos between the Kennedy Expressway's 3-year construction fiasco, a multi-year NASCAR racing commitment that conflicts with the Taste of Chicago, and the Democratic National Convention; Paddy returns from the wars in FLA (and his liver is exhausted); the Bums cover the “states” of 4/20 with the latest from DISA compliance firm on MJ legality; the Bums bid adieu to Mad Magazine's Al Jaffee (102 y/o) and ‘bit actor'/super Italian Frank Vallelonga Jr. (80 y/o) is found dead from a cocaine and fentanyl O.D. (his Pops played Carmen Lip in the Sopranos); Elon “Snake Oil Salesman” Musk chalks up another praised failure as Starship self-explodes; and close with a brief look at the HBO's still viperous “Succession” series. The Bums have lots to say, so listen TF up. Recorded April 21st, 2023 at B.O.M. northwest headquarters ‘The Eagle's Nest' in Chicago, IL USA.

When I spoke to Bohdi about coming back on we wanted to discuss Universal Morality... As we sat down for this one that was still the plan however it quickly turned into a conversation about Critical Thinking... We spoke a lot about the ongoing current situation, the insanity of it all and the fact it's no where near over... We try to find a path forward which is all we can do however at the same time we can't unaware... Always an honour sitting down with Bohdi and I look forward to our next conversation, enjoy.

You never turn down an interview. It makes you better at your craft. I like to think outside the box. I'll interview anybody! Of course I specialize in musicians, but I have also interviewed people you probably never would of thought I would. If this guy were still alive I have to believe he and I would have a podcast together. He and his wife were doing a benefit for a 9-11 charity, and he wanted to get the word out. So when I was asked if I would chat with Bohdi? My answer was "F*** Yeah!!!!!!!". We aired this just as you are going to hear it. (Sorry about the quality.) He and I chatted for about 15 minutes. We chatted about some stuff that didn't air. But we got his message out. But what amazed me is he called me back, not only to thank me but to get my info so we could stay in touch. He was one hardcore dude!!!!!!! And he was a really nice guy. He truly is missed...........Enjoy!

Our characters level up, and our relationship with King of Dungeons enters its difficult second stage, where its little quirks begin to annoy us, but the sex is still very, very good so we overlook them. Our heroes, aided by the bandit captain Dee Dee Raven, enter into the caverns that house the Temple of Evil Chaos in a bid to free Millicent from the clutches of the vile Osseus the Filthy. Along the way, Bohdi makes an unusual new friend. Emma Barton is joined by fellow EastEnders actress, Kellie Bright, and Blue Cross Animal Behaviourist, Leigh-Anne Reed to discuss how our new way of life may have triggered different behavioural traits in pets, and how pet owners can look to address them. From more one-on-one time with families, to less opportunity to travel outside of their local areas, our pets have certainly experienced a different way of life over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.Throughout the episode, Leigh-Anne shares her expertise on the different behaviours pets might exhibit as a result of the pandemic including heightened separation anxiety as well as offering some guidance on what our pets might be trying to tell us - and Kellie and Emma share their own experiences of living in lockdown with their beloved pooches Bohdi and Poppy.Leigh-Anne also discusses how allowing your pet time alone to relax is so important during these testing times, when there is constant noise and movement in the house:“In the exact same way as it is for us, having a good night sleep really sets our pets up for the day. It increases our tolerance levels, and we know our pets are the same – so without that it can really effect their ability to behave and accept things that they would normally cope with.” See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We are living in a weird time, and what better person to bring on during a weird time than the Warlord Of Weird himself, Sinn "Kizarny" Bodhi. This is the second time he has been with us, the first time since Katie has been a host. Bohdi first gained popularity on the independent scene back in the days of MySpace. In 2003 he was signed by then TNA wrestling where he worked in the Disciples Of The New Church stable which was lead by James Mitchell, who is still with Impact. In 2006 he started working for WWE, working in Ohio Valley Wrestling and moving down to FCW, which was recently profiled on the WWE Network before being called up and given the name and gimmick of Kizarny. After leaving the company in 2009, Bodhi has not only competed for various independents but also created his own promotion, Freakshow Wrestling, which is a hybrid of wrestling and circus freakshows. He is also an accomplished author, actor and tattoo artist. He's got a lot of stories to tell, including stories with friends of Steve and Sean. This will be a very entertaining program and we hope you will enjoy it.
You can learn a lot about market dominance by sitting in the sand…and watching surfers on the beaches of Southern California as they hone their craft. As a land-locked kid from the mean streets of Milwaukee, I would visit the beaches of Venice, California every summer and attempt to ride the relatively modest waves of the warm Santa Monica waters. Time and again I would bite it and tumble into the surf…learning a little bit each ride about balance…about the feel and the connection to the board beneath you…about timing. And later committing to a career in sales revealed many of the same techniques that I tried to master as Midwest kid first learning to surf. Certainly meeting with the Sales version of Point Break’s surf-master Bohdi, Chris Beall, over 15 years ago, has helped guide me in search of both riding the perfect wave and executing the perfect sales call. In this episode of the Market Dominance Guys, Chris argues that it’s the quality of the voice of the sales professional…and the obvious ability to emote sincerity of the human being who is conducting the first seven-second conversation with the prospect, which is really the key to market dominance. You are the surfer. And the scripts you ride – its purpose – with its first bits of information - is to be like a surfboard. Working with both a high-quality tandem is the only way to achieve dominance. But let’s remember that the job of the surfboard is not to ride the wave; that’s the surfer’s job. As I found out after many a spill, it simply can not ride the wave without a competent surfer. Having a Martin Scorsese-written script alone doesn’t guarantee success in your cold calling. That would be like chucking 1000 surfboards in the ocean…what would happen? Watch all day long and you will not have very many artistic or higher level wave riding experiences from doing this in spite of how expensive or expertly crafted your board is. The surfboard would just bob around at the pleasure of the waves. But every once in a while one of them could kind of come in on a wave and stay on it for a while… but nothing really very interesting happens.BUT…you put a competent surfer on the board – who is now constrained by the confines of the surfboard (the script)…and if their skill is high enough and their courage is great enough, and they know what they're doing with their balance - or within that script - they can truly express their personality and establish trust…all in the first seven seconds. Their tone of voice, the prosody, what they sound like, “who” they sound like…all factors in the emotion that the prospects feel such as, Do you sound like somebody they can trust?Hey…no one said Market Dominance would be easy. Mark Webber is a rare breed. Every time I spent time with him I feel I walk away a better person for it. Beyond just being an accomplished actor, Mark is also a tremendous director whose latest project “The Place Of No Words” recently premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Shot in Wales and costarring with his real life wife Teresa Palmer and real life son Bohdi, his movie blew me away. We sat down to talk about the movie, but also his family’s struggle with homelessness and the experiences on the road that made him the man that he is today. It's double the guests and double the goofs in the studio as siblings Bohdi and Tyhe Cooper grace us with their presence. Mihana gives a run down on astrology and the major arcana, Tyhe talks "I" poems, Aaron breaks his silence on Berserk, and Bohdi is caught in a movie loop.

Whatever else one says about "Point Break Live!," you have to agree there aren’t many other live entertainments where the audience is doused with water, beaned by flying sandwiches, robbed at gunpoint by guys wearing Richard Nixon masks, and . . . um . . . spattered with blood. Fake blood, but yeah, blood. Welcome to "Point Break LIVE!" an astonishingly weird, loose-limbed spoof of the iconic, 1991 cult-hit B-movie starring Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey. "Point Break Live!" - or PBL to its fans - was conceived written by Jaime Keeling in 2003. Today, twelve years after its initial debut, this giddy over-the-top “extreme theater” extravaganza of coarseness and crudity is still going strong. On the first Friday of every month, the cast of the long running L.A. production brings the show up to San Francisco, unleashing PBL at the South-of-Market DNA Lounge. The show’s story is more-or-less that same as the movie. A young FBI agent, and former college quarterback named Johnny Utah infiltrates a ring of beach-dwelling daredevils who rob banks by day and surf waves by night. Known as “the ex-presidents,” they commit their crimes wearing rubber masks of Nixon, Reagan, Ford and Carter. The ring is led by the guru-like Bohdi (Swayze, in the film, Sam Snowden on stage). Bohdi lives by the principle, “If you want to experience the ultimate, you have to pay the ultimate price.” The movie was full of car chases, surfing scenes, skydiving heroics, and number of epic explosions and barrages of gunfire, all recreated in Point Break LIVE! in deliciously low-tech ways that frequently spill over into the audience. During the surfing scenes, for example, the actors douse the crowd with super soakers and sun block. During the wildly funny gunfights, fake blood cascades into the air in all directions, including up, so watch out if you’re in the balcony. During the famous meatball sandwich scene, in which Johnny Utah’s partner Pappas (James Cotner) delivers the crowd-pleasing line, “I’m so hungry I could eat the ass-end of rhino!” actual meatball sandwiches are hurled into the seats. Experienced PBL visitors come prepared with ponchos and rain slickers, and believe me, you'll need one. It’s not exactly classy, but it’s fun, it’s high energy, it’s inventive and it’s endlessly clever. Though the cast-members are all trained actors, the Keanu Reeves character is a member of the audience, chosen by the audience. Once selected, the Keanu-of-the-night delivers his lines from cue cards wielded by his perky handler and part-time stunt double, played with sassy charm by Christi Waldon. The actors are quite good. Some of them rappel onto the stage from the balcony or dangle from cables during the skydiving scenes. In some ways, the cast is like an expert clown troupe in a three-ring circus, juggling a whole lot of balls at once while delivering lines with audacious glee and loose-but-effective comic timing. While at times it all seems more like a Saturday Night Live sketch on steroids, uppers, and a bottle of Jack Daniels than it resembles a more traditional piece of theatrical craftsmanship, that barely matters. The unrestrained joy and pure ballsy outrageousness of the thing, ultimately turns Point Break Live! into something unique, and truly memorable. To paraphrase Bodhi, “If you want to experience the ultimate night of theater, you have to pay the ultimate price!” In this case, that price includes getting spattered with blood. Trust me. It’s worth it. "Point Break Live!" runs the first Friday of the month at DNA Lounge. in San Francisco at 7:30pm and 11:00pm. Dnalounge.com I’m David Templeton, Second Row Center, for KRCB.
