Newt Gingrich- U.S. Military Being Destroyed by Critical Race Theory, Also, Book- America's Ever-Shrinking Fighting Force. Newt's World Critical Race Theory in the U.S. Military Critical race theory has now entered the United States military. The military is about forming a unit working towards the same mission while protecting each other. So, what are the leaders at the Pentagon thinking as they integrate critical race theory into their curriculums? Newt's guest is Dakota Wood, retired Marine Corps Lt. Colonel and Senior Research Fellow for Defense Programs at The Heritage Foundation Jul 25 2021    America's Ever-Shrinking Fighting Force To watch the entire Speech and Q&A- https://youtu.be/mip51cY-rJo American Enterprise Institute 200K subscribers The US defense budget is at its largest in decades, yet the Air Force's combat-coded aircraft inventory, the Navy's battle-force ship fleet, and the Army's number of active-duty soldiers have all shrunk. Is this trend reversible? The Pentagon's creeping bureaucracy is plagued by slow-moving acquisition processes, the rise of numerous powerful defense agencies, and climbing overhead costs. Feasible improvements exist, but as Maj. Gen. Arnold L. Punaro (ret.) warns in his latest book, “The Ever-Shrinking Fighting Force” (Punaro Press, 2021), “Bad processes beat good people all the time.” Join AEI's Mackenzie Eaglen as she hosts Maj. Gen. Punaro — former staff director of the Senate Armed Services Committee — and former Sen. Jim Talent (R-MO) for a discussion of the opportunities and challenges for securing America's military future. Yet, to those in the know, like retired Marine Major General Arnold Punaro, a former Staff Director of the Senate Armed Services Committee, there is compelling need for improvement in its support elements. From the glacial pace of acquisitions to the spiraling growth of the defense agencies to the fully-burdened costs of the All-Volunteer Force, the Department of Defense's non-warfighting elements are not getting enough bang for the buck. Every recent Secretary of Defense has pushed business-minded reforms as a high priority, citing the need to convert overhead to warfighting capacity. Despite substantial increases in defense spending over the last decades, the number of warfighters is still declining. The Ever-Shrinking Fighting Force lays out, in clear and compelling detail, the major factors that contribute to this adverse trend that has outlasted efforts to reverse it by strong Defense Secretaries and even Presidents. Drawing on his half-century of experience in national security, Gen. Punaro offers a no-nonsense look at the inefficiencies that have plagued the Pentagon's creeping bureaucracy for decades. With calls for defense reform emanating from both the executive and legislative branches, this timely book provides a road map for thoughtful and balanced improvements. It's in the middle of April, just before tax time in the United States. The weather doesn't want to cooperate here at Open Metalcast headquarters, moving from sunshine and warmer temperatures to wintery-mix and chilly temperatures. But what you can rely on is some amazing Creative Commons metal music to help make life more bearable. And as Peculate to accurately points out: "April is the cruelest month". Indeed. We have an amazing assortment of metal music in this episode, featuring music from Spiritual Deception, Cyranoi, SLAVE ZERO, Lamorte, Gmork, Drone Throne, Arkham Witch, and Peculate. It's an audible assault you won't want to miss. (00:11) In Memory of Me by Spiritual Deception from Etemenanki (BY-NC-ND) (05:25) Coalesce (ft. Open Metalcast Episode #189: Unoctennium

Open Metalcast

The atomic number 189 denotes a hypothetical eka-superactinide called "Unoctennium", which sounds very similar to the fictional material called "Unobtanium". Unoctennium has not been observed in the wild yet, but should it exist it's already been named. What does this have to do with metal music? Not a damn thing, save for I'm writing up show notes for episode 189 and that was the most interesting thing that happened with the number 189 (other than some emperors and a pope dying) so this is tangentially related to metal. Plus it's kinda cool to think about metals that we think might exist but don't yet. Who knows, maybe we'll observe it in our lifetime. But what we can observe are tangible artifacts of amazing Creative Commons Metal Music. We have tracks from Dead Empires, Chaos in Paradise, Under Vultures, Zeugen der Leere, Eave, TRAIDOR, VSTRS, and Beastmaker to give your ear drums the Creative Commons metal music punishing they deserve. And you won't have to wait for science to catch up in order to discover these in the wild. Just give them a listen. Even better: check out the albums that these tracks come from and capture them in your own private archive. Do it for yourself, for the bands who make the music... hell, do it for science. That's all good for them but we prefer to celebrate freedom by taking our hard-earned cash and transforming it into displays of the most amazing Creative Commons metal music the net has to offer. Gathered in this episode are the likes of Beastmaker, Goddess Of Fate, Blot, Antisoph, VOR, filferro, BLACKWYCH, and GENTEMAYOR. And unlike a fireworks display you can re-play this again and again and even share it with your friends. After all, you couldn’t possibly have two star quarterbacks on the team, or two top valedictorians. Someone always has to be the best, or even more importantly, to be seen by the public as the best.  But was this true in the case of the two top female painters in Revolutionary-era France? But there were other artists who were more intimately involved with one another and their artistic process-- they were married, or were lovers. Such is the case with both Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning --both of whom married women who were incredible artists in their own right. Interestingly, and sadly, when these two spouses are mentioned, it’s very rare that we are treated to sincere commentary just about their works of art. More often than not, we are, instead, given explanations of how these women measure up to their (admittedly more famous) husbands, and are relegated either to a supporting role, or just plain seen as not good enough in comparison. Why is it that such talented women continue to have their posthumous careers and stories marked and shaped by their husbands?   Please SUBSCRIBE and REVIEW our show on Apple Podcasts!  Twitter / Facebook/ Instagram Episode Credits Production and Editing by Kaboonki.

Even if you've listened to this episode before, you're not going to want to miss this, as it updates our show based on new information. One of the most awe-inspiring sights in and around St. Petersburg, Russia, is the Catherine Palace, a rococo summer residence for the imperial family of yore. Up until World War II, The Catherine Palace housed something so incredible, so coveted, and so gorgeous that for hundreds of years, travelers fro all over the world flocked to admire it, referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World." And then, in the early 1940s with the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, this priceless creation was stolen. And to this day, it has still never been found. Dear Fans of Open Metalcast. I have a confession to make. It has been six long months since the last Instrumetalcast. Six months you've had to wait for arguably one of the more popular channels of Open Metalcast. I have failed you time and time again to bring you the best Creative Commons Licensed Instrumental Metal Music. No more. Your long wait is over, and as penance I have compiled almost an hour and thirty minute apology with such bands as Steamforged, Brunt, Alpha Male Tea Party, Town Portal, Dust Storm Warning, Cloudkicker, Black Market Serotonin, Another Destiny Project, Epitimia, T-Rex Quiet, Pervy Perkin, J.C.Vogt, SONNÖV, Cancer Killing Gemini, The L-Train, and Colosso. Hopefully this will tide you over until the next Instrumetalcast episode, which should hopefully arrive before the end of this year.
