In this moment, bestselling poet and author, Yung Pueblo discusses his mission in raising self-awareness and making people realise that healing is possible. When he was younger he believed that if you were sick mentally it was just something you had to deal with for life, however by radically changing himself through meditation and a different environment, he realised that healing is necessary to living a better life. Over time the difficult moments in our past build up in our mind, and we repeat cycles of thought and behaviour, healing allows us the freedom to escape this. However, Yung Pueblo believes the biggest challenge is that people doubt their own power and don't understand their capacity, distracting themselves from their emotions. Instead we need to sit and embrace these difficult emotions that make us feel uncomfortable and be radically honest with ourself. Are you ready to CRUSH that negative voice inside your head that beats up on you? Time to put that voice in check with some radical self love! In this episode, we delve into the importance of self-love and how it plays a crucial role in shaping our beliefs and thoughts. Many limiting beliefs stem from a feeling of "I'm not enough," but with self-love, we can break free from these limiting thoughts and embrace our true potential. Self-love is about accepting and embracing all aspects of ourselves, and when we love ourselves, we no longer feel the need to prove ourselves to others. To help you tap into a deeper sense of self-love and acceptance, we will be sharing two of our favorite strategies for giving yourself radical self-love. First, we'll be talking about the power of mirror work. This technique involves looking at yourself in the mirror and repeating positive affirmations, helping you to see yourself in a more positive light. Second, we will share a very powerful visualization technique. Visualization involves using your imagination to create a mental image of yourself as confident, self-assured, and deserving of love. This powerful technique can help you to overcome negative thoughts and beliefs, and tap into a deeper sense of self-love and acceptance. So, whether you're just starting your journey to self-love or looking to deepen your practice, these two strategies will help you to give yourself radical self-love and embrace your true potential. An award-winning professor and bestselling author in the University of Michigan's top-ranked Psychology Department and its Ross School of Business, he studies how the conversations people have with themselves impact their health, performance, decisions, and relationships. We cover it all. He is the author of the National Bestseller "CHATTER: The Voice in Our Head, Why it Matters and How to Harness It." He explores the silent conversations we have with ourselves while interweaving groundbreaking behavioral and brain research from his lab with real-world case studies. He warns that giving in to negative and disorienting self-talk—what he calls "chatter"—can tank our health, sink our moods, strain our social connections, and cause us to fold under pressure.    Produced by Dear Media This episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. To be an effective public speaker, you need to have confidence on stage. It's challenging to do, but it's a skill you can learn. Naming that negative, self-doubting voice allows you to push it out of your mind so you can focus on the positive ones. Public speaking coach and author of "Get Off My Bus!: How to Get Clarity, Get in the Driver's Seat, and Get Moving in Your Life!” Robin J. Sacks shares her methods on how she trains others to become effective public speakers. Robin has coached teams at Microsoft and Panera, where she held development training sessions to educate them on gaining the confidence they need to speak in front of others. The strategy remains the same whether on zoom or with a live audience. Listen to her tips today on the One Big Tip Podcast.A public speaking coach for the past 16 years, Robin's career began in the news industry. As an emcee experiencing a bit of burnout, Robin warmed up the crowd by telling them funny anecdotes about the industry.  One of which was to listen to what the newscaster didn't say. The newscaster never focused on the positive because it simply wasn't newsworthy. On the other hand, the negative was attention-grabbing. It was headline material. The problem was that people started to see only the negative, and it transferred to all other parts of life. Robin realized she had tapped into something people needed to hear. Help others see the world differently than they were accustomed to. Teach people how to see the value in themselves, so Robin set out on a mission to help others be comfortable speaking in public forums. Being human, we all worry about what others think. That has to change. Being memorable is how we connect with people. By adding value to the world and serving people, we become memorable. Standing in front of an audience and grabbing their attention is memorable. Confident public speaking is what brings you there. Most people don't realize the amount of public speaking they do daily. Every time they open their mouth, and words fall out, that's public speaking unless you make it a habit to talk to yourself in a room with the door shut and no one else around. What's more, most of the day, when you are public speaking, you're being your authentic self, not putting on airs. Most of the time, we don't pre-think what we will say, to the contrary, we're ad-libbing. That's the part of you that brings confidence to the stage in front of a crowd. Be authentic, and people will gravitate to you. The other stumbling block most people face when it comes to public speaking is overthinking the process. If they could stop the runaway train of negative thoughts they are telling themselves, public speaking wouldn't be such a stressful experience for them. One tactic Robin teaches us is not to be so egocentric. When you're on stage, and the spotlight is on you, you feel the pressure that everyone is watching your every move. The truth is that no one is paying as much attention to you as you are. Changing that mindset and realizing that you have value, and need to be yourself, is a tremendous mental shift that alleviates the stress of speaking to a crowd. How do you initiate the mindset change? According to Robin, you need to name your bully. Once you name that negative voice in your head, it's easier to confront it and shut it down. Leaving space for the part of your mind that realizes you have value to offer, believing in what you say. A lot of time, we believe everything we think. The more you hear the positive voice, the more confident you become, and then that confident voice gets louder. It's a positive cycle that begins with the right mindset. When you start paying attention to what you say to yourself, you'll realize that all the negativity is not valid or truthful. They are the fears and insecurities you have. When you can see that, it's easy to ignore theSupport the show

E25 How Network Marketers Ignore the Negative Voice Within We all have a voice in our head – a combination of an internal dialogue and a narrator that not only tells our story but also comments on it. Often it is a positive voice, something that we rely on to help give us direction. But when we are struggling with negative thoughts and mental health issues, such as depression and/or anxiety, that voice can guide us down a slippery slope if we're not careful. If left unchecked, that voice in our head will become louder and louder – practically shouting negative thoughts at us. And those loud thoughts can become more and more negative, making them increasingly more difficult to ignore. As time passes, our mental health issues can become worse and lead to a plethora of symptoms that can affect our overall physical health too. So, what can we do when those negative thoughts start to overpower the more positive ones? Let's look at some tips for combatting negative thoughts: Recognize Your Negative Thoughts Those voices in our heads just seem to appear out of nowhere. You can't control them by turning them off, so you need to do the next best thing – identify them as the intruders and flag them for further evaluation. Notice and name them. Once you label these thoughts as negative thoughts you can then begin to evaluate them. Evaluate Your Negative Thoughts Take a moment to replay that thought in your head. Then try to evaluate it by asking yourself these questions: Is it realistic or irrational? Is it based on a fact or on an opinion? What evidence do you have that supports your determination? Most of the time you will find these negative thoughts to be unrealistic opinions. Plus, you will have little to no supporting evidence. And if you can't remember what questions to ask, then refer to the following quote: “that voice in your head, that says, ‘you can't do it', is lying.” – Unknown Adjust Your Perspective or Reframe Your Thoughts If you are still having trouble evaluating your own thoughts, try to adjust your perspective. If a friend came to you with this thought and list of reasons why they believe it is true – what would you say to them? You would likely be able to counter their argument and win the debate. And if that doesn't work, try reframing your thoughts into something more realistic. Think about how many times that voice in your head has been wrong. Think about how many times that voice has lied to you. Try to remember the last time that voice told you that “you can't do it.” Did you fail? And if you did fail, how bad was it? Did the worst-case scenario happen? What if Your Negative Thoughts About the Worst-Case Scenario Do Come True? Ask yourself: How bad would the worst-case scenario really be? Would it be life altering? Would you be able to recover from it? Do you see a path to recovery? In the vast majority of situations, the worst-case scenario wouldn't drastically alter your life. And even if it does, there is an even more likely path to recovery. And here is another important question to ask yourself. When was the last time the worst-case scenario you imagined in your head came true? Did it ever turn out as bad or worse than that negative voice in your head predicted? And even if it did, were you able to recover from it over time? I can help you to put your desire to work. That opens up the door for comparison and imposter syndrome to come in.”“I don't want anyone to think, ‘Oh, imposter syndrome comes up when you're not doing well.' I actually think it's vice versa. Because when we're pushing ourselves to that next level, thinking bigger and putting ourselves in those situations where we are being stretched, that's what brings up imposter syndrome.” “When we're feeling the weight of imposter syndrome, it's like we're holding a magnifying glass on ourselves and we're looking at every possible flaw. Don't switch off the part of you that is special. Just develop tactics to overcome them.” [8:52]   “it can be beautiful to complete someone. But if you seek your value in that, that's where it becomes dangerous” [10:36]   “your protection is having your own value system that cannot be damaged by external people.” [13:43]   “Give your gut the megaphone and go, now does it feel true? This came from a post I did involving a Van Gogh quote, "If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced"; This quote is deeper and more important than the first appearance. If you have a voice in your head that is telling you something that is negative or detrimental to your happiness, it is not your voice but someone else that has been implanted in there. Maybe it's a parent, a relative, a "friend" or a teacher but no one is born with negativity in their heads; that's someone else's bullshit and issues, not yours. Share a dram with the hospitality industry’s top global talents: bartenders, venue owners, distillers and industry aficionados. Shawn Soole has lived, breathed, and imbibed hospitality for decades. The most amazing questions come up in the PBT Membership Community when I hold our weekly live “coffee chats” and it’s always an interesting conversation. This came up recently and I have a feeling it will serve you too. So often, we have that nagging, inner voice; an inner critic that keeps commenting on what we’re doing, what we’re thinking, how we’re behaving, all of it. What do we do about that? Today, I invite you to do two things to help address this. On This Episode  Discover how to manage that persistent, inner critic in our mind  Understand why critical thoughts pop up  Learn two practical techniques to quiet that internal negative voice Quotes “The first thing is you want to become aware of what you’re saying to yourselves. Are you saying kind, loving thoughts? Are you saying nasty, critical thoughts?” [0:52] “Do you hear that negative, critical voice? Does it sound familiar? Do you know where that voice is coming from? We can’t change what we are unaware of. So once you know what you’re dealing with, then say ‘Does this serve me anymore?’ and if I’ve outgrown it. Just because it’s been a belief for so long, doesn’t mean we have to keep it.” [2:56] “So if a majority of our thoughts are based on these negative beliefs, think about how it’s showing up throughout your day, think about the choices you’re making, think about the conversations you’re having with other people, think about the decisions you’re making based on these beliefs.” [3:44] “Even if you catch ten times throughout the day of you being judgmental or critical with yourself, that’s ten opportunities to change them to something better and say something loving.” [5:58] “We’re always learning and growing. So why not be a little gentler, a little kinder with ourselves?” [7:19]   Resources The PBT Institute Website The PBT Institute Membership Community The Post Betrayal Syndrome Quiz

This episode was all about the Negative Voice inside your head; Everyone struggles with the negative voice in their head. The Bad News is it's impossible to silence this voice but the Good News it has a purpose. The negative voice tells you lies to keep you safe. It wants to keep you safe from life and death situations which let's be honest is now only 20% of your decisions. The other 80% of the time the negative voice isn't protecting you from anything harmful it's just a bad friend telling you, your stupid, your not enough, you should quit, and so forth.....If your negative voice was a real friend you would you take her advice? I challenge you to have Prospective; * Everything in life comes down to how you choose to see it. * Instead of thinking of all that could go wrong, think of what you need to do to ensure it goes well. We also chat about how to find Evidence it is true or not true but be aware, you will find what you are seeking for example: when looking through reviews; for a product you don't want or are trying to convince someone NOT to buy, your brain will automatically scan and find only bad reviews and completely miss all the good reviews just to prove its point. Same goes the other way if you really want that pricey vacuum and your trying to convince your husband its the right purchase your brain will scan and pull all the good reviews. With Negative Thoughts challenge it to find evidence!! I always tell myself “well you have gotten through tougher situations than this” We have all pulled through extremely bad situations in our lives and are still here standing, that should be enough evidence that we can handle this too. Train the negative voice to trigger an empowering response. *If I fail, I'll look stupid” becomes “When I fail, I'll learn something and be able to do it better next time” And lastly and the most important thing to take away from this episode is to understand that the negative voice inside your head is really not your voice someone put it there. Someone once told you, You're not good enough You're not pretty enough You're skinny enough your not smart enough You can choose NOT to listen to it.

In this episode, we will cover: -What is the Gremlin- that voice in your head that tries to protect you by scaring you -Why that voice is internalized and how it's not your true self. -How to recognize the Gremlin voice and begin to challenge it. -The tool of Active Imagination-how to dialogue with that negative voice and challenge it so you feel more in control.  You will learn how to have a written conversation with specific fears, to put them on a loudspeaker and to find the exceptions so you can talk yourself down from the ledge. In the following episode, you'll learn 2 MORE tools to add to your arsenal, so keep listening:) My hope is that you will begin to shift from fear into love in your life and relations, more and more. How to Stop Listening to the Negative Voice in Your Head A few times I've found myself sitting in the car at the gym and procrastinating. Moments like these define us. Now, what moments am I talking about? It's the moments where you decide if you are going to make the right decision, which is hard, or if you are going to make the wrong decision, which is easy. Click To Watch This Video On YouTube... Excuses, Excuses Here's how it works. I am driving to the gym and playing out a million excuses in my head as to why I don't have to go to the gym. I'm tired. I don't feel good. I can go later on when I feel better. I'm not meeting my personal trainer today, so no one will know if I don't show up. Being successful is all about our thoughts, which then lead to our decisions and our actions, which lead to our results. Our minds are constantly trying to find the easy way out. And the easy way out is never going to bring us success. Being successful is about doing the right things at the right time in every moment, each and every day. Today is what matters. Your Mind Playing Tricks on You We as individuals aren't defined by the thoughts that go on in our minds. The human mind is millions of years old, and it's always trying to protect us from things that really don't even exist. A bunch of BS plays out in our heads. And if you're trying to lose weight or start a business or are just struggling something, maybe you see somebody who is massively successful and you think it's easy for them. I can tell you right now that these battles play out in all of our minds. When these thoughts come into your mind, don't take them at face value. Take four or five minutes before you make a decision and meditate on it. Think about it. For example, those times I find myself sitting in my car in the gym parking lot and hesitating, instead of reacting and saying to myself, “Oh, I'm just going to go to Starbucks and ignore my workout,” I pause and think about my decision. And then I know that when I wake up tomorrow, if I don't do what I need to do today, which is go to the gym, I'm going to feel regret. I'm going to feel bad. I'm going to feel sluggish. I'll know I am not moving toward my goals. What Goals Are Really All About Reaching my goals is more than just me reaching my goals. It's about inspiring people, being a role model, getting fit, getting healthy, and getting in shape. And all that is going to give me more energy to build my business. It's going to give me more energy and passion to share my message regarding entrepreneurship and making money online and health and fitness. If I don't get fit and healthy, there could be somebody out there who I don't inspire and they could die prematurely because they didn't lose the 30 pounds. Sure, these may be extreme things that I'm thinking about, but you have to play tricks on your mind. Your mind is constantly trying to sabotage your best intentions. Your mind is not out to do what you really, truly want to accomplish. It's out to protect itself from millions of years of wiring. Do not let it play tricks on you. So when I hesitate going to the gym, I go anyway and crush it. Why? Because I want to be successful. I want to inspire people. I want to have the energy. I want to be fit. I want to live a long life. I want to inspire. I want to be a role model. Where Will Today's Decision Take You? I know I can take a moment of decision right now that can define where I'm going to be six months, 12 months, 18 months down the road. In 18 months, you may turn to my YouTube channel and say, “Holy crap, this guy got jacked. He got fit. He got healthy. How did he do it?” I'll tell you how I did it. I made the right decision every single day. Even when it was tough, even when my mind was playing tricks on me, I made the right decision. Now, I'm not going to be perfect. I know I'm going to fall off here and there. But overall,

It is typical for most people to feel some things are good (staying on a meal plan, adhering to an exercise program, winning a league championship), while others things are viewed as bad (going off a meal plan, stopping an exercise regimen, losing a league championship game). But in reality, events are simply events. It is the evaluation of events that make them positive or negative, and this in turn determines one’s emotional, mental, and physical responses to the events. In fact, sometimes things that were initially evaluated as bad eventually turned out to be good. Types of Self Talk: Motivational self-talk: The act of practicing self-talk in a positive manner, focusing on increasing energy, effort, and positive attitude. Instructional self-talk: The act of practicing self-talk in which an individual focuses on the technical or taskrelated aspects of performance in order to improve execution. Negative self-talk: The act of practicing self-talk in a negative manner focusing on critical and self-demeaning statements that negatively affects goal attainment. Ways to Focus on Motivational Self-Talk Take away the labels. There is no "good" or "bad" or "positive" or "negative."  Practice Gratitude. Create Confidence / Gain knowledge.  Practice Mantras! "Keep your phrases short and specific, use the first person and present tense, construct positive phrases, say your phrases with meaning and attention, speak kindly to yourself, repeat phrases often." (- From AFAA Mental Toughness textbook, Ch. 1) Create Routines & Systems to create control & help with decision making.  (P.S. Here's the Obama article about his routine - https://www.theguardian.com/world/shortcuts/2012/sep/17/barack-obama-secret-weapon-routine) I'd like to give credit in this episode to AFAA & the Mental Toughness course I am currently completing, which inspired me to share the self-talk info.  I would also like to credit Chalene Johnson and her lessons in the 131 Method, which give me confidence daily when it comes to food freedom, confidence, and motivating self talk surrounding food.    Love Your Bodd Stuffz   Email LYB: loveyourboddcast@gmail.com   Tweet: @LoveYourBodd   Instagram: @love_your_bodd   Facebook: Love Your Bodd     Find Heather @HeatherBoddy on Snapchat, Twitter & Instagram www.heather-boddy.com/loveyourbodd   Get Resources: Love Your Bodd is a proud supporter of the Born This Way Foundation - check out their resources page to get help for whatever issue you might be facing -  https://bornthisway.foundation/get-help-now/   Wanna become a Pop Pilates Instructor? Everyone, without exception, struggles with the negative voice in their head. And before I built the billion-dollar brand Quest Nutrition, I did too. The first half of my life was controlled by a negative mindset. I was often paralyzed by fear. Wrecked by insecurity. I didn’t think too highly of myself.

Ep 10 of Surviving My Podcast talks about not giving in the negative voice in our heads that tries to tell us that we can't do something. That tries to keep us stuck, keep us from reaching our full potential. The voice that tries to make us believe we aren't worth anything, that nobody cares, that we can't possibly do what we want. I challenge myself and I challenge you to not give into that voice. To stay strong, to fight it, and to know that you are worth it. No matter whether you are a survivor of abuse or not, we call struggle with confidence at times. Be your own advocate and know that you don't have to listen to the negativity that your mind, or others, can try to make you believe. This week I got a strange note from one of my friends who wondered if I was moving in. Apparently on my recent order of CDs from Hypnotic Dirge Records I accidentally left it on the last shipping address I used. That address was his address from when I last sent him some CDs for Christmas. I had a few moments of confusion until I realized what was going on. But it all worked out because these were albums that I know he'd like anyway, so in a way it was an unintended act of human kindness. So Hypnotic Dirge Records got another order from me, and my friend got some amazing music. The moral of the story? Buy more music, share more music, and support the bands you love, even if it's unintentional. What is intentional is the collection of tracks we have for you this episode. We have tracks from Shardana, The Look of Time, Twisted Wrath, Negative Voice, Mahidevran, and a brand new track from SUNNATA. Send them to all of your friends who will listen (and the friends who won't listen. ;) ). (00:10) Shardana (Kadesh) by Shardana from No Cadena, No Presoni, No Spada, No Lei (BY-NC-ND) (03:15) The Pinnacle of Hypocrisy by The Loom of Time from NihilReich (BY-NC-SA) (07:52) To The Sword by Twisted Wrath from Madman's Chorus (BY-NC-ND) (11:35) Instant by Negative Voice from Cold Redrafted (BY-ND) (17:44) Karma by Land Of The Sun from Land Of The Sun (BY-NC-ND) (23:03) Parable by Mahidevran from Singl Parable (BY-NC-SA) (30:27) Zorya by SUNNATA from Zorya (BY-NC-ND) Please support the bands in this show! Buy a T-Shirt, buy an album, head to the shows, or surprise your friends with their music. Whatever you can do to help these bands keep making music, please do it! Eight months ago Open Metalcast went on hiatus. The short of it was because my father-in-law was needing more elder care and we needed to shore up resources for his care. Unfortunately he passed away last year. This show is dedicated to him, even though he likely never heard it or knew it existed. We miss you, Dad. So I have eight months to catch up on of sharing Creative Commons Metal Music with you. Let's get started with music from Phylogeny, The Afterthought Ecstasty, Sonus Mortis, Wildernessking, Negative Voice, Akaitsuki, two tracks from EWÏG FROST, and Lèpoka. It's good to be back, though I wish it were under better circumstances.
