Tony Chiaramonte is the Vice President and part owner of DCB Performance Boats now located in Phoenix, Arizona. DCB was founded over 30 years ago, in 1990, by Dave Hemmingson, under the name Dave's Custom Boats. DCB quickly became the “go-to” place for high end, custom rigged Eliminator Daytona's and other high performance outboards. Chiaramonte joined Hemmingson in 1993 where he swept floors and washed boats as he learned the business of boat building. Fast forward to 2023, and Chiaramonte is leading the team, and we learn that DCB has introduced over 15 boat models since its inception, with the newest being their M37R and another new model in development, the M42R.  With a production schedule that produces less than 20 boats a year, DCB is committed to providing one-off, custom boats that are completely unique to each owner. To help create their “works of art on the water,” every DCB is built in-house, using the most advanced construction techniques available. As would be expected given the boats that he builds, Chiaramonte is an accomplished high performance driver with a lot of time behind the wheel of 170 + mph water rockets. Chiaramonte personally water tests every boat sold with its new owner. He will spend as much time on the water with them (oftentimes multiple days) Chiaramonte is completely confident with the owner's competence and proficiency in the driver's seat.  Chiaramonte's driving excellence was recently recognized when he was inducted into the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout's Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame. Integrative Palliative Care - What You Need to Know

Open Mic with Chuck Tuck

Welcome to today's important topic of palliative care. Do you know what palliative care is, and the difference between palliative and hospice care? #mentalhealth #healthyliving Please welcome Dr. Chiaramonte. Her professional path as she outlines on her website, has been a meandering one that has brought her to exactly where she supposed to be.  Dr. Chiaramonte began practice as a new family physician, and was surprised that many of her patients were suffering from symptoms that no pill could fix. They were exhausted, but their thyroid and blood counts were normal. Their bodies ached but she couldn't find a lesion. Their life felt flat even though everything was fine. Dr. Chiaramonte desperately wanted to relieve their suffering, but the skills that she learned in medical school weren't what these patients needed. . Palliative care and hospice care are both forms of healthcare that aim to provide comfort, support, and quality of life to patients with serious illnesses. While there are similarities between the two, there are also key differences in their focus, goals, and timing. Palliative care is a multidisciplinary approach to care that focuses on improving the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses, regardless of the prognosis. Its primary goal is to provide relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress associated with the illness, as well as addressing emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Palliative care can be provided alongside curative treatments and is not limited to end-of-life situations. It is suitable at any stage of illness, from diagnosis through treatment, and even during recovery or disease management. Palliative care teams typically consist of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other specialists who work together to address the holistic needs of the patient. Hospice care, on the other hand, is a specific type of palliative care that focuses on providing support to patients who are nearing the end of life. It is typically offered when curative treatments are no longer effective or desired and when life expectancy is estimated to be six months or less. Hospice care emphasizes managing pain and other symptoms while providing emotional and spiritual support to the patient and their loved ones. The goal is to ensure a comfortable and dignified end-of-life experience. Hospice care is usually provided at home, but it can also be offered in specialized hospice facilities, hospitals, or nursing homes. In summary, palliative care is a broader approach to improving the quality of life for patients with serious illnesses at any stage, whereas hospice care is a specific form of palliative care that is provided to individuals with a life expectancy of six months or less. Both types of care prioritize comfort, symptom management, and holistic support, but hospice care is specifically focused on end-of-life care. After recently wrapping up a tour with Bayside, Koyo is current En route with No Pressure and soon will be overseas this summer. Joey is a fascinating mind and is full of knowledge. He talked about going on tour with bands that have a different sound or come from another time period and what that can mean for crowd presence. Joey also discusses the current state of the hardcore genre. He believes the current growth is something Koyo and others are benefiting from. He talks about participating in the genre and trying your best to be involved because it takes the whole community for it to be successful. We get into the importance of touring and how it has a bigger meaning coming out of Covid. Discussed how Koyo came to be and how timing worked out for everyone in the group. Joey mentions being able to concentrate on Koyo as a whole but leaving the door open for a possible Typecaste gig in the future. Lastly, we spotlight finding influence from others and how his peers are his motivators. There are endless fascinating topics during this interview.  Give it a listen and make sure to catch Koyo when they come to a town near you!

Caring for an individual with a serious medical diagnosis can be difficult for patients, their families, and caregivers. For some, a palliative care professional can make a big difference. On this episode, we welcome Dr. Delia Chiaramonte, an integrative, palliative care physician and medical educator, who helps seriously ill patients live their best life. By going beyond symptom management, forward thinking palliative care professionals aim to develop a model of care that places the individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing at the center. Integrative palliative care combines conventional and complementary approaches. It has been shown to provide significant benefits to patients, including improved symptom management, better relationships with healthcare providers, and increased satisfaction with care. In this episode, we discuss mind-body tools for symptom relief, experiencing joy while living with a serious condition, confronting the fear of mortality, the growing use of psychedelics in terminal care, the advantages of team-based care, and improving overall quality of care for individuals.
