In this episode of Web3 Unlocked, Kenzi Wang and Diksha Dutta speak to Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX and Shardeum, on decentralization, the right way to build communities, and making it in web 3. Before Nischal launched WazirX and Shardeum, he started his entrepreneurial journey by creating a social media company (what began as JustUnfollow is now Crowdfire) in 2010. He was a software developer, and before 2010, he had a day job and worked on his app on the weekends and any free time he had. This social media app was based on the idea that most people needed a single account to manage their Instagram, FB, and other social media pages. The app was successful and got 20 million users. In 2017, the large social networks started changing many rules, which affected all the businesses built on their platforms. That's when Nischal decided that he would build his next projects on a decentralized platform.

Every problem has a solution. You just have to be creative enough to find it. Our guest in thisepisode is a problem solver at heart, who has used the art of coding to solve real-life problems. Brace for the resilient journey of Nischal Shetty, Founder and CEO, WazirX, India's largest cryptocurrency exchange. In a candid conversation with Akshay Datt, Nischal talks about his fascination for computers and his coding journey. It was in the second year of engineering when he was bitten by the coding bug and since then there's been no looking back. From building the Knightloader App for a college project (the App helped in downloading reading material from the Internet at night) to transforming his weekend passion project to Crowdfire which helped users to unfollow people on Twitter, Nischal has found logical solutions to problems via coding. He further talks about how a major setback with Crowdfire inspired him to build something that no one else can control. He found his calling in cryptocurrency and this is where the journey of WazirX began. Tune in to this episode to hear Nischal speak about how cryptocurrency has the power to disrupt the well-established and archaic BFSI sector, with WazirX being the torchbearer of this change. Key takeaways: ● Cryptocurrency 101 ● India's response to cryptocurrency ● The association between WazirX and Binance (the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange). ● Cryptocurrency as a means to diversify investments

BIG CHANGES TO FACEBOOK AS RELEASED DURING THE FB SUMMIT BIG NEWS from the Facebook Communities Summit. Coming soon: formatted posts for group admins.  Search your group member request list New ways to notify members of declined or removed posts, or when muting members  Updates to the Admins Activity log  Rollout update to mentorship in groups  The ability for Page admins to respond to Instagram direct messages from their Facebook Page inbox A Blood Donations feature that helps people sign up as blood donors The ability to support nonprofits with a donation sticker in Instagram  READ THE NEWSROOM BRIEFING HERE.  YOU WILL KNOW WHICH FACEBOOK BUSINESSES ARE SHARING YOUR INFO!  Facebook has taken some steps to prevent companies from recklessly using your data for targeted ads, but now it might put pressure on them to come clean. As of February 28th, Facebook's "why am I seeing this ad?" button will show who (if anyone) uploaded the contact info that led to a sales pitch. You'll know if it comes straight from the source, like a retailer, or if the company relied on an outside partner to gather the data.  Read more here.    IGTV IS COMING TO THE INSTAGRAM FEED IGTV is coming to IG Feed - Now it is possible to play IGTV videos longer than 1 minute via the Instagram feed and profile. When uploading a new IGTV video just select the appropriate option. I personally think that this may be due to the fact that no-one ever clicks on IGTV - so they are going to spread the word and put it into the regular feed.  (I may be wrong!).  Read the Mashable article here.    SPOTIFY ACQUIRES GIMLET MEDIA AND ANCHOR  This is Spotify's way of expanding their growth into the world of Podcasting.  With these acquisitions, Spotify is positioned to become both the premier producer of podcasts and the leading platform for podcast creators.  This development will certainly hurt iTunes and Sticher Radio!  The Guardian article is here.    DO YOU STILL HAVE A FLICKR ACCOUNT? Flickr announced plans to discontinue the free 1TB of storage space that was previously granted to users, restricting free users to only 1.000 photographs. Beginning Tuesday, February 5, Flickr will start deleting photos from accounts to bring them within 1,000 photos. Read the full details here.    YOUTUBE EXPANDS IT'S EXPLORE FEATURES I am rather excited about this new development.  As Google Plus comes to the end of its life we are starting to see more and more features appearing on other YouTube Channels, and YouTube is no exception.  YouTube is finally giving the less popular creators a bit of a voice!  Find out more here.    GOODBYE MANAGEFLITTER!  If you have been using ManageFlitter, Crowdfire or StatusBrew then your Twitter experience is about to change dramatically. Twitter has suspended these three prominent social media companies that enable clients to rapidly follow and unfollow accounts using the Twitter API. This is a popular strategy for increasing followers, but a practice that's largely seen as spammy.  Read the announcement here.   Tool of the week - Remove.bg  This is wicked!  A free tool that lets you remove the background of an image automatically! Upload a photo, press a button and then download your new image (background free!).  It is just brilliant (and free!). Desktop tool - try it out here.

Graham and Kevin discuss the business tools they use on a day to day basis to produce the podcast, build websites and maximise returns from social media. We mentioned lots of business tools in the episode, so here are links to each of them. Business tools we use for creating images Canva - Online simple graphic design www.canva.com Gimp - Open Source image manipulation software for Mac, Windows & Linux https://www.gimp.org/ (very powerful, but the user interface isn't as intuitive as photoshop) Affinity photo is the mac app Kevin uses to do more complex photo manipulation, its downloadable from the Mac app store at £39.95, and has loads of features that are aimed at professional photographers but at a way lower price than photoshop. We mentioned Jessica Rae's extensive guide to getting free or very low cost images, a brilliant resource: http://bit.ly/2diKbBP Business tools we use for creating websites We use Wordpress as our platform for building websites, its open source and free. Our sites are hosted on 1&1 internet, (http://bit.ly/2cGrd58) and they include a very straightforward wizard to set up a wordpress site without downloading anything We use Divi from Elegant Themes (http://bit.ly/1px3fjD) as our standard wordpress theme, its hugely flexible and adaptable to give you whatever look and feel you want. Elegant Themes also supply other themes that deploy the Divi builder, and the builder is available as a plugin too, though we've never tried using the builder with a 3rd party theme. One of Kevin's favourite wordpress plugins is Quiz and Survey Master by Frank Corso, No need for a link, its in the wordpress plugin repository. The Business Health Check is built using this. Business tools we use for social media Kevin uses Crowdfire, (https://www.crowdfireapp.com) it is excellent to manage followers for both twitter & instagram. He uses the iPad version which is downloadable from the app store Graham uses Buffer for scheduling tweets https://buffer.com - It will also schedule posts to Facebook and Linked In Kevin moved on from Buffer to Meet Edgar. (www.meetedgar.com) Worth checking out, but now very expensive after a recent subscription hike. A lower cost alternative to Meet Edgar might be Recurpost (http://bit.ly/2dmGuur) but this is still in beta version (Kevin has been involved in the beta test). When we post links in twitter, we usually use Bitly, (https://app.bitly.com) the link shortening service. this simply reduces the number of characters in the link and is especially useful when you only have 140 characters in the entire tweet. For automation, check out IFTTT or Zapier. Business tools for Email We both use Aweber (http://bit.ly/2dww5zR) for auto responder email, any downloads we offer on the show are delivered via Aweber. Mail chimp is also a good alternative, there's little to choose between the packages. Business tools for webinars Kevin has been using Webinarjam (http://bit.ly/2ddXM0O) and so far is very impressed with this. The main issue with a webinar is the sheer number of moving parts, and though not cheap, this tool gives a great single place to keep control of everything from managing sign ups to accessing the webinar replay. We are going to do a full show about webinars in the near future, so we will explain the full power of this tool at that point. Diary and Planning Kevin mentioned Acuity Schedule (http://bit.ly/2ddG36b) as a great way of letting clients have access to your appointment diary and book sessions with you. The system optionally links to stripe, so you can accept credit card payment for the appointment when its booked. We didn't mention Goals on Track (http://bit.ly/2abqP0j) in the show, but its worthy of taking a look. Kevin has used lots of different planning and task management apps over the years. This one is his current favourite, as it allows goals to be broken down into milestones tasks and activities, allows habit tracking,

Hey hey! Welcome to episode 187 of Life on Fire. Last week we brought you the top 7 proven strategies that six and seven figure business owners are using. Today’s episode those very same high income earners are sharing their 7 favorite resources that help them grow their audience and increase their bottom line. This is from the same invite-only mastermind event hosted by my good friend and business coach Suzanne Evans. Again the only people you’ll be hearing from are those who are earning a minimum of 7-figures in their businesses. And the main focus of their businesses is events. In this episode you’ll hear:   One resource that generated a $100k check. (4:30) How opt-outs generate six figures for one business. (6:35) What site creates 300,000 unique views? (8:20) Is the Wingman Coaching team right for your business? (12:30) A site to find the best credit card point deals for your business expenses. (17:30) And so much more!   The first of the nine resources we’ll list here is Crowdfire. While you may have heard of Crowdfire you may not be using it the way this entrepreneur does. He calls it “stupid simple”! Here’s what he does: when someone follows you on twitter Crowdfire sends them a direct message. In that direct message you can customize it, and his messages all say: “Hi what kind of business do you have? I have a show available every Thursday on iTunes.” Nearly all of his followers will reply, and as a result he has seen a 20% opt-in conversion rate! He has never see anything like from Twitter before. He recommends using Crowdfire and then have your assistant go back and direct message the person to see if it can lead to something more. Another interesting resource recommended is an opt-out page. You might think why in the world would an opt-out page do anything for someone’s business? Because he cleverly created an apology video which is on that page. He has also listed resources the person opting out might find useful, they are all affiliate links. From those links alone he makes six figures! The third resource offered up is Zergnet.com. The man who owns Liquor.com says he gets 300k unique visitors a month from content on Zergnet. They post content related to their event for a reasonable fee and that content brings people to their site, and eventually to their events. The fourth resource we’ll list here is BuzzSumo.com. This is a resource we use at Life on Fire, and here’s how it works: go to the site and enter a keyword. The site then pulls up all the related posts that have the most likes and shares on social media. With that information under your belt you can curate content that is proven to be viral. And you can use that information to create content too; when you know what topics have gone viral you can base your own content on that and increase your traffic. Fifth is another resource we use at Life on Fire and it’s called AgoraPulse.com. This is a tool to manage all your social media. With Agora Pulse all of your updates, comments, notifications are in one dashboard. And it’s far more sophisticated than hootsuite or the like. To make the most of your social media hire one person and train them on Agora Pulse. Their only job is to get to inbox zero! They don't have to scour all of your platforms, they do it all from Agora Pulse’s dashboard. Sixth is a site devoted to helping you find credit card loopholes. For example if you spend a lot with Facebook ads consider getting the Citibank double cash back card. The man who shared this bit of advice buys a new piece of real estate every 8 months with the cash back money he generates from his Facebook spending when he uses his Citibank double cash back card! He also recommends negotiating credit card points into your event contracts. He does so now and scoops up another 100k-200k points every time he signs a contract for an event! The seventh resource we will touch on is from the same man. He recommends using a particular type of font, Courier, when emailing your list to ask them a question. He swears this works better than anything else he’s tried, but only if you are aiming at the 30-60 year old crowd. If you are then use Courier font to make the question you ask standout from the rest of your email. When you do there should be a significant increase in your conversations. He says it seems to work so well because it strikes a chord of nostalgia in that particular age group. It reminds people of typewritten letters from their younger days. But again he only uses it for questions, and when he does he gets a ton of responses. Typically about 750 people write him back when he asks questions using the Courier font, so keep that in mind if you want to boost your response rate from your audience. Those are just 7 of the resources these top performers recommend, there are plenty more on today’s show! So tune in to hear the rest on episode 187 of Life on Fire. Tim Fargo is the CEO of Tweet Jukebox, an amazing and powerful Twitter tool. It’s a personal favorite of mine which I use every day for marketing my brand on Twitter. It’s a free scheduling tool that allows you to load a “jukebox” with content, schedule when you want tweets to go out and then sit back and let it do the job for you. Tim is a bestselling author, a keynote speaker, an angel investor, and an entrepreneur. Back in the 90’s, he co-founded an insurance fraud investigation company that became the second largest in the US and which he later sold for $20 million. Listen in as Tim shares with us how Tweet Jukebox actually came about and what makes it so popular among Twitter users. Episode Highlights: Tim didn’t start with the idea of making Tweet Jukebox a business. It was actually a by-product of traveling, initially intended for his own personal use. Tim mentions that when you’re designing something for yourself with the kind of care and attention you put to it, it ends up becoming the kind of product that a lot of people want. Tweet Jukebox is a powerful tool that frees you from constantly scheduling your tweets. Now you can spend more time engaging with your audience which Tim considers as the most powerful element of social media. Tim’s goal for Tweet Jukebox is to be a multi-platform social media content manager and to make it a little ecosystem of itself. Watch out for more cool features that they’re currently working on. Tweetables: “Tweet Jukebox was a bit of an accident. It just kind of happened.” tweet this “The best way to use it is take the time you save and use that to engage with your audience.” tweet this “Feedback is a form of currency.” tweet this Links to tools and resources mentioned in this episode: Tweet Jukebox Hootsuite – social media management tool SocialBro – Twitter analytics and management tool Crowdfire – social media engagement app Buffer – social media management tool Check out Britt Michaelian’s Mass Amplify Show featuring Tim Fargo Listen to the #TwitterSmarter Podcast episode 15 with Britt Michaelian Check out the recent article on my blog, Twitter Chats – The Place Where Everyone Knows Your Name Tweet Chats Mentioned: #MediaChat #SocialChat #InfluencerChat #ViralChat #BlogElevated #TwitterSmarter Visit www.madalynsklar.com/twitterchats for more information. Since then, she’s written two books, and travelled the world seeking adventures like climbing Kilimanjaro in Africa, working as a chalet host and cycling Death Road in Boliva. And it may not be perfect, it may not be the best recorded, it may not be the best edited… but all these little things I learned how to do myself”. In episode 8 of Podcast Divas find out about: How Sarah went from banking to podcasting Amazing women role models who’ve overcome difficult sports and physical challenges The 3 month learning curve Why Sarah’s super proud of what she’s achieved A key mistake it took 3 episodes to rectify Whether to have an introductory first episode or get straight on with the show Concerns about getting it all together Making the linkages work Putting your download numbers on your website How to decide on 1 or 2 episodes a week The importance of finding a balance Knowing your audience Turning listeners into guests Becoming something you do Imposter syndrome Realising the networking potential of podcasting What podcasting’s done for Sarah’s business Podcasting and confidence Podcasting as the missing link between being professional and getting personal Starting out on a budget Not getting distracted by equipment Content v quality Sarah’s podcast process The warm up chat Using different interviewing styles for to get the best out of guests with different levels of communication skills. Yes you’ve got to have the quality to be able to hear your guests, but it’s more about the content you’re producing”. Advice on getting started in podcasting Podcasting can add a lot of value to your business; it’s a great way to build trust with your audience because they listen to you every week. People learn in different ways and it gives another way to engage with your audience. Don’t get distracted by all the bits of equipment you could buy. Focus on a good idea and just start because you’re going get better every week you do it. Every week you do it you’ll learn something new and will be constantly improving. It’s all about consistency. Decide if you’re going to do a podcast every week, or do seasons and if so how many episodes will you have in each season. Have a goal and structure. Don’t worry if not everyone is totally supportive of you. Go and find the Facebook communities where they will support you Take a course to get started; there are many available for a reasonable price. Then just start. If you’ve got an idea there will be a niche market for you but you need to do self-promotion for it, so start on social media now building a following on Twitter and Facebook. “I thought this is an amazing way and another way to communicate with my audience and also to spread these messages.” An episode of the Tough Girl Podcast to listen to Tough girl – Stacey Copeland – British Boxer 2015 Nations Cup gold Medallist - November 3rd, 2015 Sarah says: “I loved recording this episode, there are so many learning points, and for me, it really does show no matter what happens, its never to late to go after your dreams and with hard work, commitment and focus you can make it happen and you can achieve amazing things. Five tools to help with your social media marketing management Most of my clients know that I am a ‘social media puriest’. What this means is I like to use the social platforms as they were designed without a lot of automation as I believe spending time on the platforms is a key to success as it allows us to better understand the platform capabilities and better understand our audience on these platforms. However most of us have a lot more to do than hang out on social media all day and generally have guests to attend to, staff to manage and suppliers to stay on top off. That is why incorporating the right additional social media management tools can help you better manage and deliver your social media plan. [Tweet "The right social media tools can help you better manage & deliver your social media plan"] There are so many social media tools out there and new ones entering the market all the time. I have selected five that I am familiar with that I think are worth the investment. Please note I am not affiliated with any tool and don't get any kick backs etc, this post is written to hopefully offer value to you and help you best manager your social media marketing. 1. MeetEdgar Meet Edgard is a tool to schedule social media posts especially for Twitter but it works for Facebook and LinkedIn too. Edgar recycles content and builds a library of social content so you never run out of posts. When you craft and send a Tweet not all your followers are going to see that Tweet, for it to really get traction it needs to be sent multiple times. What this tool does is once you create an update or post - you add it to a category say Blog Post or Fast Fact or Promotion and the update gets stored in your library. When every other update in that category has been posted, Edgar will post this one again, so it can be seen by a new audience. Until recently I had been using Hootsuite to schedule tweets however I was never happy with the way they displayed images and if I wanted to post the same tweet multiply times (and I think that is a smart thing to do) I had to write out each tweet, add the image multiple times and decide what time to send it. I am really happy with how Edgar displayed the images and how you can map out your schedule really clearly for each social channel. Also you can give Edgar your RSS feed and it will actually create posts for you and automatically update when you post new content. They offer a 14 day free trial so give it a go and see what you think. The only down side is its $50US a month - so about $15 a week - so you need to weigh up if it saves you $15 a week in time. Now a side note here: just because you are scheduling Tweets it doesn't mean your work is done on Twitter, what it should mean is that your time spent on that platform is engaging with others, their content and replying as thats the important stuff! 2. CrowdfireApp JustUnfollow.com have changed their name to CrowdFire - this is a mostly free tool - well I only use the free level. This tools identifies who on Twitter and Instagram is not following you, who your recent followers are, your recent unfollowers and the bit I like the most your inactive followers. It then allows you to bulk unfollow or follow accounts. Between 25 and 100 in one session. I use this for identifying inactive followers and unfollowing them - you can see who has been inactive for 6 months or more or 3 months or 1 month. I believe it is important to keep your social media accounts healthy and unfollowing inactive accounts is part of that. Now just because someone isn't following you it doesn't mean you shouldn't be following them - there are loads of accounts I follow that don't follow me but it can be good to keep an eye on things and do a cull every know and again. 3. Schedugram Scheduling Instagram doesn't sit 100% comfortably with me however I ...
