Love is... a feeling? our duty? something we fall in? A quote from the movie "Dan In Real Life" says, "..Love is an ability." That quote isn't far from how the Bible talks about love. Love is a SUPERNATURAL ability... In this fourth sermon in the series "Formed to Flourish", Pastor John talks about "love" the mark of the Christian.

Inflation is finally cooling off (for now) and markets are responding in a healthy way. Will it be a sustained move up this time? We breakdown the charts on the major indices and mark out our levels to see how prices will react this week. Also, I make the realization that I've been about six months ahead of a Wedbush managing director the past two years.

MJ's guest is a winemaker and the founder of Massican Wines, Dan Petroski. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where he went on to play football at Columbia. He went on to work for Time Inc. while also studying for his MBA at NYU, both ingredients for a promising future in magazine publishing. Dan began his wine education literally winning and dining clients around Manhattan's best restaurants. He set off for Sicily, where he interned at Valle dell'Acate for a year. Dan originally intended to return to NYC to sell wine, but later received a harvest invitation in 2006 in Napa Valley. Not long after that, Petroski was hired as cellar master, ultimately claiming the Larkmead winemaker title in 2012. In 2009, Dan launched his own wine business called Massican, which specializes in Italian inspired white wines. Massican is a one-man operation where Dan manages all winemaking, sales and marketing. In July of 2020 Dan went back to his digital media roots launching Massican Magazine online. Petroski's approach and ability to craft wines as diverse as Cabernet Sauvignon and Tocai Friulano has earned him the recognition as San Francisco Chronicle's Winemaker of the Year in 2017On this episode, MJ and Dan enjoy a beautiful bottle of Fiorano Boncampagni Ludovisi, while discussing Dan's unlikely start to a decorated and fulfilling career in wine, his once in a lifetime winemaking education in Sicily, his time at Larkmead, starting his own business at Massican, and fighting climate change on the front lines! Period. Cheers! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Erica Kay is a badass UPM and Producer with over 20 years of experience in studio films and television. A life long New Yorker who started in production right after graduating from Colby College, she recalls not knowing anyone in entertainment and discovering producing by accident. It was via an internship on CENTRAL PARK WEST, the 90s drama created by Darren Starr, (yes, the mastermind behind SEX AND THE CITY!) that exposed her to this crazy world of filmmaking and storytelling. She saw an opportunity to climb the ranks in the most traditional way producers get their start: the production office. She started as an office PA and in no time, became the coordinator on films like ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and ANALYZE THAT. She nabbed the production supervisor title on DAN IN REAL LIFE, SALT, and JULIE & JULIA. Slowly but surely, she eventually became a DGA UPM films such as THE DICTATOR and HOW TO BE SINGLE. Then of course, there was Sam Esmail’s MR. ROBOT. Most recently, Erica produced the first two seasons of POSE and FOSSE/VERDON for FX. Both shows were deservingly nominated for a myriad of Emmys and other awards in 2019. If you have NOT yet seen Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell create fire on screen in FOSSE/VERDON, I highly suggest pausing all life things short of eating and peeing, and binge watching it in it’s entirely. It’s television gold! In our chat, she breaks down the different roles in a production office, how tier jumping comes with a lot of luck, and why Fosse/Verdon was her dream job. You’ll also hear her speak extremely highly of Nissa Diederich, EVP of Production at Fox 21 Television Studios who made that Fosse/Verdon dream a reality... Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this week’s episode! Beijos, Caca

Hey, folks! It's time for a brand-new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, and this time, we got the whole family together after so many years apart. And we're going to make sure to get all sorts of fun activities in before the big celebration is over at the lake house. We'll have a talent show, a crossword competition, some Jazzercising, and hey, wait, where are you going? We're just talking about the family at the center of this week's movie, Dan in Real Life. Yes, the 2007 dramedy with the most unlikely love triangle (Dane Cook, Steve Carell, and Juliette Binoche) is our focus this week, as Josh and Scott are joined by friend of the show Steve Greene of Indiewire to discuss whether or not this movie is charming or cloying, or somewhere in between. Does this movie suffer from having too many characters? Is the love triangle believable? And what is Emily Blunt doing in this film? Find out now!
Episode 76! The Theme this week is "Just Not My Type" where we pick an actor who broke type cast! Some how we pick the same actor, but its two completely different roles. Dawn watched "Dan In Real Life" and Ruben watched "Foxcatcher." Dawn tried to get him to watch a movie about Tom Hanks having AIDS, but this seemed like a little bit of a lighter topic. On October 26, 2007 Steve Carrell betrayed his on-screen brother Dane Cook and America cheered for DAN IN REAL LIFE, which opened second to SAW 424, at the box office. The nation was not so kind to similar antics from Philip Seymour Hoffman when he tried to pull the same shit with Ethan Hawke in Sidney Lumet's final film BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD which opened on the same day. Some things are expected of a sitcom star taking the leap to big screen romantic lead that would be beneath the greatest actor of his generation. Nothing is beneath us though as we tackle the appropriate amount of thrusting in an opening sex scene, meet cutes with eyebrows on fleek Juliette Binoche, and the joys of being called Chico by a threatening Michael Shannon. Love is an ability, not just a feeling. “Dan in Real Life” brought this lesson home for meditation teacher Sharon Salzberg. The story of Steve Carell’s flawed but loveable character echoed Sharon’s own work — to realize love as a capacity within ourselves.
