Google does a lot of things well. But hardware strategy has never really been among them. The last several years have seen the company at least finding some consistency with its Pixel and Nest devices. But the former, in particular, has continued to struggle as the company has worked to find its footing in an […]

Georgia and Rene are back! Their podcast is back! But... the world has changed. Technology is more advanced. Culture is more complicated. And our humanity... well, we need to talk. This week, topic one is all about Apple clickbait. Georgia and Rene used to work in big Apple media. They know all about it. But what is it? How does it work? Why does it work? And can it go too far?Topic two is all about Google's new announcements, including the Pixel 5, which Rene sees as yet another repudiation of the previous year's Pixel, and Georgia sees as an opportunity to talk about getting everyone on the same page.

This week on The Chrome Cast, we reflect a bit on the early success of Google's new Pixel 4a and what may come with the announced Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. With Google now firmly planted in the mid-range phone space with no clear indication that a flagship device is coming anytime soon, I suppose it is time to get used to the idea of Pixel phones that have far more mass appeal and far less attraction for high-end phone lovers like myself. That being said, there was a leak this week that outlined the possibility of a foldable Pixel phone that may come into reality next year. Armed with that news and the recent unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, we spend the second half of the podcast letting our minds wonder a bit about what that Google-made foldable could be and how a device like the Galaxy Fold could make for a very awesome Chrome OS device if and when the day ever comes that a foldable tablet/phone running Chrome OS does ever emerge. Two words: MYSTIC BRONZE. That's the brand new color Samsung debuted at its Note20 launch event alongside four other new products including the S7/S7+ tablets, Galaxy Buds Live, S3 smartwatch, and much-anticipated Z Fold 2. In this *BONUS* episode we discuss our reactions to the new products and fill you in on all the info you need to know about Samsung's latest devices. Did we mention they come in mystic bronze? Stetson also gives us a look at Google's new and very budget-friendly Pixel 4a smartphone — a stark contrast to the exuberance and wallet-draining prices which are Samsung's latest devices. P.S. Hi, Gabe here. Apologies for my bad audio quality. I was so overwhelmed by mystic bronze that I forgot to switch on my mic to record.
This week on The Chrome Cast, we were honestly all over the place. This week's news cycle was a veritable mixed bag, but we tried to stick to the most relevant bits and pieces. Probably top of everyone's mind is the impending back to school season we're about to enter. With the pandemic looming, this will be a return to education unlike any we've seen before. With some tips on Chromebook buying and a Lenovo Chromebook Duet to give away, we're hoping to help in that transition a bit. After that, though, the discussion goes in a ton of directions as we talk about Google's long-anticipated official announcement of the Pixel 4a reveal date (August 3rd), a bit about the upcoming Phone Hub feature for Chromebooks that will further unite Chrome OS and Android, and the current state of USI pens that are just now showing signs of real market arrival. It's a packed show, for sure, so we hope you enjoy this week's episode. Medvirkende:Kristinn R. Hi Mosen at Largers. Thanks for joining me again. Are you as enthralled by the Brexit drama as me? Before putting the show together, I pulled an all-nighter watching coverage of the unusual and dramatic Saturday session of the UK House of Commons. I offer a few thoughts. We talk about food you absolutely adore, and food you detest. Even though the answer to this question should be blatantly obvious, at a listener's request I outline just a few of the things that make soup an abomination. I review and highly recommend "A Day Like Today", an autobiography by British journalist and recently-retired BBC interviewer John Humphrys. Shawn calls in to recommend a book called the ABCs of UEB. You can find it here. We hear a listener's perspective on running Windows on a virtual machine on the Mac. Keeping with our food theme, Bonnie joins me to discuss some of her most and least favourite food as well as her first taste of a New Zealand culinary institution. We look at a few items of tech news, including announcements around Disney Plus, Uber Pet, Google's Pixel event and the cool new recorder in the new devices, the ability to easily move music and other audio between your Google Home devices, Tile has some new products including Tile Stickers. I discuss how I have now made the Microsoft Edge Chromium beta my web browser of choice.
Simone the traitor is back from Canada to discuss Google's Pixel event with Christina and Brianna, who have never done anything wrong in their lives. We've got opinions on the Pixelbook Go, Pixel 4 and 4XL, and of course Google Nest updates. Next, it's an official Rocket iPhone 11 review from Brianna and Simone! Finally, the $200 device that will play all your old GameBoy cartridges. It's Rocket, baby!
Made by Google 2019 has come and gone. And, legit, it was a complete cluster of an event. So much great technology given so much short shift. The products and technology that did manage to somehow sneak out on stage were so good, that it almost makes up for the obvious lack of planning and organization that went into the event, and the extreme disrespect shown the audience, both live and streaming. Almost. But, I’ll complain later. Right now, I want to focus on the positive. That cool tech and what I very much think Apple can learn from it.
We reveal the massive omission from Googles big Pixel 4 announcement, ponder the chances of success for Facebooks currency and chat with Dr Celine Mullins from Adaptas about how you can learn things faster with less effort.

#ensakidag #google #pixel4 #transformation --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ensakidag/message
