This week we venture beyond the traditional classroom with Victoria Hackett from Outdoor Classrooms, an expert in weaving nature, play, and purpose into everyday teaching. With over a decade of experience championing outdoor education, Victoria shares how learning gardens and nature-based activities can do wonders for student wellbeing, regulation, and overall engagement—and just as importantly, how they can reignite a teacher's sense of joy and curiosity too. From the science behind nature's calming effects to practical ideas that fit even the tiniest outdoor spaces (yes, even city schools!), we unpack how outdoor learning supports child development, deepens inquiry, and aligns beautifully with curriculum goals like literacy and numeracy. Kate Pierson is a founding member of the B-52s: The World's Greatest Party Band, and a beacon for weirdos and queer-does since the late 70s. After decades of collaborating with the likes of Iggy Pop, R.E.M., and her Japanese side-band NiNa (more on that in the episode), Kate began writing and recording her entirely solo output in 2015. Happy Pride month!!! Now let's all bake a cake with rainbows and smiles and love each other.Today we chat about my busy week/weekend and my inner child's love for carnivals before diving into the main topic: managing and respecting differences just in time for Pride. Lately, a theme across all my conversations with friends is how is it possible that I have so many friends with opposite viewpoints politically, socially, religiously, and of such different backgrounds and personalities. While that's given me a lot of anxiety in how my dear friends view my character, I decided to embrace my ability to appreciate the different flavors in friends. Reality is: you're never going to grow or learn unless you cast a wide net when building your foundation of knowledge. A wealthy mind is not one that closes off and doesn't listen or consider other perspectives. While I agree there are ground rules you need to set for what you're willing to accept in a friend, I talk about why I've branched out as far as I have and how we all need to be a little more respectful of differences and their sources versus thinking that someone different from you is bad.

Finally! Amy found her way back to the studio and we were able to record a new episode! She weighs in on some of D2's comments and rebuffs her sister's "revised history." Who is to say what the truth is these days, of course Tim has repressed much this timeframe in his life as he believes everything was "Unicorns and Rainbows!" As we travel down a rabbit hole... the conversation switches to the question of leaving voice messages in today's world where no one knows anyone's phone number. Since your phone notifies you of all missed calls, you see when and who called. Of course Amy plays back some of here saved voice messages going back over a decade! How many people "save" their voice VM's? (And by "save" we mean - "Do not delete.")
Shattered to Mosaic: All the While Trusting God and walking with Jesus by Cynthia Kaitfors-Smith Amazon.com Newlifeinjoy.com I found after leaning on the Lord through grief and loss there truly is JOY after the storm. There is so much in life to celebrate through the word of God, the Joys and the Rainbows of our lives. I am a Christian gal, with the gift to gab, wonderful imagination, and a creative spirit. I would daydream my way through the school day. I was born and raised in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, I earned my BA in Psychology and MS in Marriage Family Therapy and a credential in School Counseling. Through my education, strong faith, trust in God, I healed from betrayal and divorce. As I grew in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I realized the importance of being more than a luke-warm Christian.

This week Eric reigns, Matt meets his M.O.T.H.E.R., OTK Games shows off a ton of indies, EA closes down Cliffhanger Studios, and we get updates (and leaks) on some upcoming games! Releases: Elden Ring: Nightreign & Haneda Girl
Send us a textIt came across my desk one day, this moment, this fleeting moment where I thought to myself, "Where I focus my energy I create." Are we focused too much on the "white noise" that is running static in our brains that it is stifling the essence of seeing beyond our circumstances to something better? Send us a textWelcome to Episode 203, host Andrea Atherton and guest Janessa Filey-Ford, lean into a truth that often gets lost in the highlight reel of modern love: conscious relationships aren't always rainbows and unicorns. In fact, some of the most profound moments of growth, intimacy, and connection happen in the hard times—in the middle of conflict, discomfort, and uncertainty. This episode is an invitation to explore how we show up for ourselves and our partner when love gets real. We'll explore the importance of emotional regulation, not as a way to suppress your feelings, but as a commitment to owning your emotional experience, so you don't project, rescue, or rush someone else's process. It's easy to fall into the habit of giving advice when our partner is hurting, but real intimacy begins when we pause and ask, “What do you need from me right now?” That question alone can transform your relationship from reactive to deeply responsive. It's the difference between helping from love versus acting from anxiety. We'll also talk about the sacred act of allowing your partner to just be—to feel, to process, and to move through their own emotional landscape at their own pace. It's an act of trust and surrender to hold space without fixing, to witness without rushing, and to remember that your presence often speaks louder than words. Conscious love is built in these quiet, challenging moments—the ones where you choose to stay, soften, and grow… together. This month on OUT and About, Iese Wilson sits down with Icaro Paraguassú, who shares his experiences as a gay Latter-Day Saint from Brazil. They discuss faith, identity, diversity, and the need for resources that reach every language and culture.Icaro reflects on the rainbow as both a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride and a covenant with God, and how we each reflect the light of Christ in our own way. His rainbow pin opens conversations and offers quiet reassurance to those seeking belonging. From a mission in Argentina to a leadership academy in the Czech Republic, Icaro's story is a reminder that while our paths may differ, we're all journeying back to the same heavenly home.
