“Why did I say it like that… Chipotle?”That's the question that kicks off a hilariously unfiltered episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where mispronunciations, candy confusion, and gut-busting laughter take center stage.Join Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray as they rewind the best (and weirdest) moments from the past month. From Ben's unforgettable pronunciation of “Chipotle” that spirals into a full-blown gastrointestinal confession, to Skin's shocking admission that he had no idea what a Laffy Taffy is—this episode is a goldmine of absurdity and nostalgia.Key Moments:

Have you ever wondered why banana Laffy Taffy tastes so peculiar? Mike Pridgen joins us decked out in our latest merch to muse over this candy conundrum before steering the conversation towards his own transformative weight loss adventure. With humor and honesty, we traverse the peaks and valleys of dieting, digging into the importance of a sustainable approach and the power of positive self-talk. Mike's candid sharing offers a relatable take on the highs of shedding pounds and the lows when the scale tips back, reminding us that health isn't a sprint; it's a lifelong marathon. We've all heard the quick-fix diet promises and witnessed the yearly rush to shed post-holiday weight, but this episode shatters those illusions. Engage with us as we dissect the pitfalls of extreme dieting and its mental toll, and share tales of our own dieting escapades gone awry. As we unpack the dark allure of diet culture and touch on the art of caloric tracking, the conversation illuminates how a true understanding of your body's needs can be liberating. We even demystify 'eyeballing' calories—giving you the practical strategies to maintain your weight loss journey in the real world. Finally, brace yourself as we debunk some of the greatest nutrition myths out there, like the infamous 1200 calorie diet and the demonization of 'junk food.' With a dash of compassion and a sprinkle of science, we advocate for a balanced eating philosophy that allows for life's little indulgences. And because no discussion on food is complete without delving into our emotional ties to eating, we approach this sensitive topic with the kindness it deserves—offering up insights on managing these challenges and the profound impact of self-acceptance. Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Conditional on Getting to Trade, Your Trade Wasn't All That Great, published by Ricki Heicklen on March 14, 2024 on LessWrong. "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member" -Marx[1] 1. The Subway Seat: You're on a subway platform, and the train pulls into the station. Almost all of the subway cars are full to the brim, but you notice one that is entirely empty. You'll be able to get a seat to yourself! You step onto that car. The air conditioning is broken, and someone has defecated on the floor. 2. The Juggling Contest: Your quantitative trading firm is holding its annual juggling tournament. Cost to enter is $18, winner takes all. You know you're far better at juggling than most of your coworkers, so you sign up. As it turns out, only a few of your coworkers sign up, including Alice, who used to be in the lucrative professional juggling world before leaving to pursue her lifelong passion of providing moderate liquidity to US Equities markets. You come in second place. 3. The Bedroom Allocation: You're moving into a new two-bedroom apartment with your roommate Bob. You've each had a chance to check out the apartment, and Bob asks you which bedroom you prefer. Both looked equally good to you, so you tell Bob that he can choose. Bob chooses a room, and lo and behold, you find upon moving in that your room has less closet space and worse flooring. You realize you would have been better off flipping a coin (giving you a 50% chance at the better room) instead of leaving it up to Bob. 4. The Thanksgiving Leftovers: It's the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and dinner is leftovers. You recall that your family's Thanksgiving meal was delicious, so you're excited to eat more of it. You get to the table, and find that the only food left is Uncle Cain's soggy fruit salad - all of the yummy food has disappeared over the weekend. 5. The Wheelbarrow Auction: At the town fair, a wheelbarrow is up for auction. You think the fair price of the wheelbarrow is around $200 (with some uncertainty), so you submit a bid for $180. You find out that you won the auction - everyone else submitted bids in the range of $25-$175, so your bid is the highest. After paying and taking your new acquisition home, you discover that the wheelbarrow is less sturdy than you'd estimated, and is probably worth more like $120. You check online, and indeed it retails for $120. You would have been better off buying it online. 6. The Wheelbarrow Auction, part 2: At the town fair, a wheelbarrow is up for auction. You think the fair price of the wheelbarrow is around $120 (with some uncertainty), so you submit a bid for $108. You find out that you didn't win - the winning bidder ends up being some schmuck who bid $180. You don't exchange any money or wheelbarrows. When you get home, you check online out of curiosity, and indeed the item retails for $120. Your estimate was great, your bid was reasonable, and you exchanged nothing as a result, reaping a profit of zero dollars and zero cents. 7. The Laffy Taffys: Laffy Taffys come in four flavors, three of which you really like. Your friend Drew is across the room next to the Laffy Taffy bowl, and you ask him to throw you a Laffy Taffy. (You don't want to ask him for too big a favor, so you don't specify flavor - you figure you're 75% to get a good one anyway.) He reaches into the bowl and draws a Laffy Taffy and tosses it to you. It's banana. 8. The Field: You want to invest in real estate, so you go to your field-owning friend Ephron and submit a market order for his field. You: I would like to buy your field. Ephron: My man, it is all yours. Take it. You: No, I want to pay dollars for it. I will pay whatever it costs. Which is how much, by the way? Ephron: Oh, I guess, if I had to put a price on it, hrm, maybe $400 million? What's $400 million between frien...

Listen in as the Rangers Ed boys cover the last 3 games against the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks. Rangers go 3-0 this stretch with a lot of positive to take from each game. Quick gets his 2nd start, 2nd win, and a shutout and is looking like a great backup for this season. Artemi Panarin has an 8-point streak and doesn't seem to be slowing down and playing with purpose. Lafreniere is tied for 2nd on the team in goals and has been clicking on the 2nd line. Rangers powerplay is hot and the team as a whole has been playing great defensively. Her Suite Life of Zack and Cody experience did not disappoint and the NASCAR race was a top ten family friendly day where she also met comedian and influencer Jalen Hinton. Reel talk with Lizz gives a shout out to the hilarious Entitled Housewife. Shout out to listener Sarah for the most iconic great eight theme, millennial school dance songs. The songs on Kelly and Lizz's unhinged playlist for the great eight are: Get Low, Soldier Boy, Hot in Here, Hollaback Girl, Laffy Taffy, My Humps, Don't Stop Believing, and Temperature. Lizz gets her favorite advice question ever on today's advice segment where she and Kelly get to pick car-related baby names for a listener. In case you were wondering too, here's where you can find those Nuuds pajamas and no, Kelly doesn't have a code for Pura yet, but she's working on it! Happy Holidays Clowns! In our last episode of 2022, we start by discussing this year's Halloween and two of our hosts' birthdays. Then comes a much-awaited segment, celebrity smash or pass, and later, we go down undah for a round of Bikini Bottom smash or pass. Ever wanted to know if we would smash Larry the Lobster, Elon Musk, or Khloe Kardashian? Now's your chance to find out and play along! Next, we debate what everyone's thinking but no one want to talk about -- tipping and splitting the bill. You would think that would be our episode's big debate, but instead one of the biggest debates in GTT history comes from our shower food discussion. Two hosts agree that certain foods will taste better in the shower, while one host holds steadfast in their beliefs that only Laffy Taffy should be eaten where you bathe. The conversation hops to the captivating question of which celebrity would win in a headbutt fight, and with some real heavy hitters -- Tyra Banks, Yo Gotti, Plies, Tory Lanez, Ne-Yo, and Rihanna -- this is sure to cause some heated debate amongst our listeners. We round out the episode with a huge proposition, and introduce the Grab the Tomatoes Fuck a Fan Challenge! You guys will not wanna miss this one. Here's to more squelching in 2023! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grabthetomatoes/support

We've done candy shows in the past, but we haven't focused exclusively on the non-chocolate variety. And we've also never done it with such a very special guest like Abby Gardner, host of the awesome podcast, ‘We Have Notes.' Abby is a straight-up candy freak who loves any and all candy including gumballs, Laffy Taffy, and, yes, even Circus Peanuts. And, yet, she doesn't really care about chocolate. Who is this person? Kirk and Lindsey find out as they debate with Abby about Skittles, Lifesavers, Jolly Ranchers, jellybeans, Bottle Caps, Spree, grandma candies, and how Abby would even take a grape-flavored candy over a piece of chocolate. Again…WHO DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CHOCOLATE? The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2017/04/binary-system-podcast-80-alice-isnt-dead-part-2-episode-2-the-mouth-of-the-water/ It's our 80th episode, woo hoo! Then we figure out whether or not the second season of Broadchurch is going to be worth the inevitable heartbreak and..look, we know we said we weren't going to talk about Iron Fist, but we've got thoughts about Iron Fist, because we totally see what they were going for but man did they miss the mark.

Paige Weldon (Heathers, The Late Late Show with James Corden) had a humor website she co-created hacked and destroyed. Five years of writing and artwork from herself and her friends went down the drain overnight. We chat about how messing up in her Heathers audition probably helped book her the role, the difficulty of working meditation into her routine, being sick and having two days notice for her Late Night stand-up debut, and how agreeing to perform at a Laffy Taffy joke contest helped her get booked for James Corden.
